finally the video you've all been waiting for at Bane we want to support you as much as possible throughout the interview process so we've gone and asked our experts around the world for their tips and tricks to help you prepare for your interviews tip one approach Case Prep like a marathon not a Sprint get diverse perspectives and feedback during the Case Prep process make sure to link up with two to four friends who you case with regularly that can comment on your performance across cases be D and patient while you're prepping trust that the work you're putting in will get you to where you need to be tip two be clear on the problem you're solving make sure that you clarify your objectives and that you have a structured approach the beginning of the interview is the most important time for you to make sure that you understand everything and that you have Clarity on what's being asked tip three develop a structured approach using your own framework develop a framework as your road map remember it's more for you than the interviewer think about the actual problem you're trying to solve Frameworks are a tool that you can use but but at the end of the day it's just a tool so you want to make sure that it's customed to the problem that you're trying to solve tip number four apply your framework to the problem once you get into the case it's easy to lose track of the different paths that you wanted to go down so don't think of that framework at the beginning as some test you need to pass that is a chance for you to lay down a road map that you yourself are going to follow for the next 20 or 30 minutes tip five try to drive the discussion towards an answer what we're looking for in an interview is somebody who can use the framework to drive the answer forward everything is focused on giving me an answer to the one thing that is most pressing put your answers into context keep coming back to the main question tip six make it a discussion and share your thought process I'd encourage you to speak up more can feel really awkward to voice maybe every thought that you have it's the only way we're going to know how you think how you approach a problem if you're facing a complex problem take your proposed approach to your interviewer and speak through it and see if there are any ways that you could simply ify your approach before getting into the problem tip seven be cachable and organized treat it like a conversation not a test talk them through how you're approaching the problem and they'll steer you where you're going in the right direction or where you might be let a stride tip eight b820 when casing it's really important to focus on the key points don't get lost in all the extra details a couple of really wellone analysis is more important than several superficial ones tip nine make a recommendation supported by evidence think back to the problem you were asked to solve initially and formulate your answer based on that once you had communicated your answer then discuss next steps with your interviewer to show that you are proactive tip 10 be concise you may have heard the quote I'd have written a shorter letter but I didn't have the time it's because it takes time to be concise so before you make your recommendation take a moment put together a key recommendation at the end showing what you do follow the evidence after watching that video you might think to yourself that's great but all my interviews are going to be virtual no problem we've got some additional tips and tricks for you tip one be professional be professional yet relaxed don't panic in case reality happens and your internet cuts out your interviewer will know what you can control and what you can't control tip two practice in the same environment we are all creators of habit so when you're doing your case practices try doing it in the same room use the same sitting same level top position so that when it comes to the real interviews all this Logistics just will not bother you at all tip three if it's virtual talk me through the analysis even more if I can't see your scratch paper or how you're setting up the analysis it's really hard for me to follow along so I'd encourage you to voice over what you're doing talk to me about how you're setting up the work and approaching the problem so that way if you get off track I can help you get back on track we hope that this whole video was helpful for you to prepare for your interviews and we hope that it helps you be successful in your process and we look forward to seeing you soon at Bane
