I'm here with New York Times bestselling author Carolyn mace someone who is also a dear friend and I'm so grateful Carolyn that you've decided and chosen and are willing to be part of sounds truths resilience in challenging times series thank you oh I am I'm delighted thank you thank you okay here's how I want to start symbolic site this is a way of seeing things that you've introduced me to that whether it's something that's happening in our personal life or in the collective life we can see it through this lens us the lens of symbolic sight how do you view what is happening right now with the Cova 19 global pandemic through the lens of symbolic sight well you're not the first to ask me that and so my answer is I'm trying to figure that out if I had to be honest with you it takes me a little bit of time to get my calculations on that because it's it's a brand new it's brand new and so I'm not going to kid you and say I've got that figured out I don't you know I will say this that I think you know this is a cosmic sized phenomenon the world has come to a standstill and it came to a standstill almost overnight and so for me obviously I see the hand of the universe in this because it's it's an organic phenomenon I mean it's not war it's not political it's something that obviously the virus is what they call inorganic but the fact is an illness is an organic phenomenon and it's hitting all of everyone equally and that no matter who you are you're susceptible to it while some countries have more than another if the game's not over yet so who knows excuse me who knows where this is going to spread how bad it's going to reshape history it's going to redirect humanity and all of that is kind of the way the divine intervenes or interferes in our life and it so if I were to reduce this - how does illness impact the individual when an illness strikes an individual that person always goes into a reevaluation of his or her life and they come to a standstill and they immediately shed things that are not a value and look at things that are of value and so that might start happening in a way it makes me wonder and I do wonder about it if in fact this came at a time that is preventing something worse from happening you know we have been braced for something to happen to me it has been in the collective atmosphere we we have been braced for something catastrophic to happen for some time that level of anxiety has been hanging in the atmosphere like a like a blister waiting to break everybody's been sensing would it be a nuclear war would it be an exchange between nations what what the oncoming of climate change for the longest time we have anticipated that something was going to get us and that has been a collective thought form at the same time we've been there is their head been a large percentage most of people who have the mindset that that world out there is not hygienic enough for us so we've had to have our water in bottles and not aware that those bottles are doing as much polluting mmm-hmm and we and that a lot of out there is not clean enough for us it's not perfect enough for us so we have to keep a lot of the out there away from us and we have to have only certain kind of foods and certain kind of this and now we have a virus that's keeping the out there totally away from us so you know in a sense this virus embodies an attitude that the out there was not good enough for us do you understand what I'm saying I do you know it has a little bit of that touch to it that you know people out there were just too dangerous to to you know keep them in cages don't let them in the borders keep this that person those people that that we have developed refugees this that everybody out there is dangerous and this and that and my surprise we have a virus that embodies exactly the fear that we've had of all those people so am I am I fully convinced that that's it no but I do think these are the thought forms that have been in the airwaves for some time now I want to ask you a couple questions Caroline about what you've just said one is if this virus potentially is preventing us from something worse happening at a collective level how is it doing that and what is the worst they that you're thinking it could be preventing us from well I think that it it you know like any other natural crisis it might be redirecting people from you know we're the engines of what gets created collectively and individually and that lesson that we co-create reality is something we've applied to ourselves but we haven't actually applied it to the creation of larger events like war like what our psychic free radicals in the collective create in terms of hostile politics in terms of hostility that might breed hostile politicians what we we don't think of it that way but we have to expand how the law of co-creation works and I think that you know where we headed toward something of greater danger and what something like this does is it redirects our thinking it redirects our fear it redirects it towards something towards survival our issues of survival get directed toward the immediate towards something we could put our hands on so instead of survival being directed toward somebody out there those people it's actually too - toward moment-to-moment mm-hmm in our hands where it belongs and not projected into what if they come what if they cross the border what if survival gets projected into I need to put a mask on to go to the grocery store and what happens is there because an appreciation begins to grow in our hearts for those people who are risking their lives to bag our groceries yeah it the what it takes to survive to realize that survival is actually an issue for day-to-day living do you see what I mean I do it Kate realizes survival across the board and it changes this idea that everybody is safe that I'm safe here so long as I keep those people out so long as you know it takes away the illusion that something can't happen here that in fact I'm safe so long as I'm living in this gated community that I'm safe so long as I have five million dollars that I'm saying no now we're all in this life together and we're all on this planet together and if we all don't take care of each other in at least our hearts with a more compassionate way of looking that all life breathes together we're really not going to make it do the thing that this virus has in common is that it doesn't care what community will you live in what border you live in it respects none of the things you think are going to keep you safe now Carolyn you also mentioned that for people at the personal level this is a time of reevaluation for many people I'm wondering now a position I love to put you in if you were the audience's spiritual director hypothetically here and you were giving them some direction on how to use this time of reevaluation in the most productive way what you would suggest you know this is a time to toss out this is the how you use a time like this I think and that's that you toss out everything that doesn't serve you to be quite honest with you you toss out every attitude that simply is of no use anymore and never will be again this is not the time to keep going back to old wounds this is a time of rebooting your life because you would most people are going to be all of us are going to be we are rebooting our lives we are every every single person is rebooting the way they're living in every single way and everything that doesn't suit us in terms of what draws power from us has got to go we can't afford to keep telling old narratives to ourselves that causes us to lose energy because if you know what builds your immune system what keeps you vibrationally it's time to utilize the things you claim you believe and what builds your energetic immune system is you really have to rely on that if you believe those things to be true and those things include you have to really live in the present moment you have to look at what you believe to be true which is staying in the present staying appreciative of my god I am living in a I need to stay in a peaceful environment I need to appreciate everything I eat everything I eat down to the micro I need to appreciate the block I live in the people at seven o'clock every evening we walk out on my porch people walk out on their porches to make sure everybody is okay and they wave at each other that never happened before and they say hi to each other and that will my neighborhood will never be the same and that brings joy to my heart and you and and I I think to myself I don't have time anymore to worry about you know will I get this or that act to me I am so grateful that I have this time I have to care take my mother she's 92 years old she broke her shoulder I am so grateful my workshops have been cancelled for the year I won't travel anymore but how convenient because now I can be every evening with her you have to look at your life and say what can I do what what is the best I can do in every single moment you you have to find a way to turn everything into a blessing and not a loss you have to become creep more creative than you ever have before take make creative recipes out of food that you've cooked a thousand times cook it a different way cause force yourself to become a different person in some way every single day do not have a breaking point do not raise the bar on who you are this is your highest potential highest potential has never ever been about a career now you're gonna find out what your highest potential is this is the trenches now Carolyn I wanted to pick up on a thread you were talking about immunity and what boosts our immunity as individuals and for our listeners who may not be familiar Carolyn mace is a medical intuitive and she knows a lot about personal health so I think it would be helpful to people to hear from you what do you see as the keys that help boost in all physical immunity well I I really do believe that we do a lot for ourselves by I think the best thing is to use kind of an analogy that if you were given a hundred dollars worth of energy a day to spend on the maintenance of your life and your health your creativity your whole life that the wise person uses most of that energy most of that money to maintain their present-day budget so that you would spend that capital to invest in something positive every day something new something that makes you feel alive you invest it in life so you invested in creative thought you invested in nurturing your relationships you invested in your health you invested in love you invested in in that kind of thing if you take your capital and you invest it in your history in the sense of investing it in the dead something that doesn't pay back you're going to increase your debt so if you invest it in narratives that drain you here's an old story again I'm investing it in the wound I'm investing it in self-pity I'm investing it in thought forms that simply drain me you're going to go broke and your immune system is going to get drained and if your immune system is drained how does that affect the psychic laws of the universe that are magnified met magnetized in your energy field the laws of cause and effect the laws of magnetic attraction the laws of action and reaction how's that how's it gonna work I mean in a virus is a very low frequency entity it's not a high frequency it's a low light it's low so you're a track it's attracted to something that has been weakened and has already been been drained I mean if you'll notice the numbers and the people that are you know dying it's the older people it's people that have already the numbers are saying the people that are susceptible to this virus their systems have already been weakened by cancer by diabetes by obesity by by you know alcohol by whatever by age their systems are already exhausted in some way so that they're not their budget is already being distributed so how I would say is what you have to fight is self-pity and this is going to be really difficult because so many people are going to experience the crisis of losing their jobs or of the loss of financial security so I'm so this isn't easy this is not there is nothing that's going to be easy about this which is why it's important to take your energy and put it into creativity put it into not looking back but imagining what can I create for my future how what can I do what can I do in the here and now how do I adapt to this what are the ways and that's not going to be easy to one in fact people are contained in their environment how creative when the two are essentially the computer and that much else this is catastrophic in in so many ways because the the capacity people have when businesses are closed when our capacity to go out and earn a living has been taken from us from this so this is going to be incredibly incredibly difficult so during this time it's it's going to be one of the most challenging times in human history mm-hmm and that's the truth mm-hmm you know it seems like some people have a more natural capacity to adapt we could say this series is called resilience and challenging times to be resilient what do you think are the most important keys to being resilient you've mentioned being creative what else I think prayer prayer and and the belief that first of all absolutely prayer and the belief that there is a divine plan behind this and that somehow I will get through this I will get through this and I'm not sure how and and that doesn't mean that it won't be difficult but I will get through something difficult and it does mean that historically we've had to adapt to get through difficult times and people may have to adapt in this passage through difficult times they may have to double up and sleep on a couch they may have to do things in this time ahead we may have to take friends end we may have to help out in ways we never anticipated and we may have to do that you know we may we may find ourselves you know being willing to do things we never thought we would do before you know because that it's never been this challenging I think you know Buddha always said things could change in a dime or in the in the blink of an eye and I think one of the great eyeopener's for America as we never thought the country could change we never thought we could face you know everybody alive now has never faced the depression we are descendants of people who have faced the Great Depression of the 20s but none of us went through it and so we have no awareness that there were soup lines and soup kitchens and people sleeping on the street with their whole families and that that too was America and we're gonna see that we are going to see that to me it is going to get that bad there's going to be millions and millions of people unemployed and these programs the government hands are not going to be sufficient to pay the rent of people and right now we're in the benevolent stage of this virus meaning that landlords are not charging people for the April rent and maybe some of them won't charge for may become July and come August that's not going to be the same policy so we are going and then if the virus reboots in the September October as they're anticipating who knows what this is going to look like unemployment could go up to 30% in this country mm-hm and and I think this is the age of the unthinkable and the unimaginable and one of the things that's true about America is that we have lived in a bubble that those things can't happen here that fascism can't happen here that that we can't lose our that and we've grown up on this myth with the greatest country with a wealthiest country whether this whether that and that these nightmares can't happen here we're gonna find out differently now you mentioned that part of resilience is prayer and I'm imagining that person who says you know I I have been feeling like praying but I haven't prayed in 20 years and it feels a little something like regressive or something I don't even know what I'm playing praying to what am i you know what is Carolyn suggesting here I'm suggesting humble up and pray I'm suggesting that you know one of the things that had to happen in this class that I'm teaching writing the Phoenix one of the images that I get and I can't do the whole thing here but is to imagine 1945 1945 we've just entered the age of energy and what's behind us the wars just ended we've just dropped the nuclear bombs and in entering the age of energy we have slipped while we slept the whole of humanity has slipped into the age of the energetic nature of life and we've yet to discover our energetic nature we have no idea we have one we have no idea about the energetic nature of God none whatsoever everybody in 1945 thinks their own version that God's a human being that lives off planet but has a hundred times the power we do or a million we have no idea about our energetic consciousness now whatsoever all that learning lies ahead of us all that learning about internet and our internet all of that lies ahead of us and as I teach history from that point of view people are going to learn that all the experiences that lie ahead from the 40s on are all about learning they're always one holism and energetic consciousness everything everything that is about to happen from 1945 is about learning consciousness including understanding that how we understood the nature of God had to change and in the course of that we had to break away from the way we prayed in order to develop a co-creative partnership with the divine so when you say how do we pray we have done durst we really have to get now that we have a co-creative partnership with the divine so that our off-planet God the divine is in this this is the divine in everything and in all life in the air we breathe we are walking through and living within the divine it is impersonal the nature of the divine is law mystical law co-creative law it's in our blood it's in our bones it's in this lamp it's everywhere everything that is is God and what makes our connection to all of this is prayer so how do we pray we close our eyes and we say listen to me I don't know what I'm doing here I am scared to death and I've got to figure out my way through this and I need your help so talk to me guide me through this because I am scared to death so reach me any way you can and I have no restrictions now that's how you pray mm-hmm well if you were to summarize it and a bit more deal the deaf it's between a petitionary prayer like God please help me and a co-creative prayer where I'm here I'm ready to be part of the equation what's the difference the ativ is when you get you get that every thought you say it's a prayer every word you say has creative power that you are the creative instrument and that's the power of your soul that I I am the creat this is why mystics when they got that they said I surrender this power of me that's what surrender really was they got it they thought that I you've given me so much power I don't want to blow this so I surrender this so you tell me what you want me to do with this so this power you've given me I'm not budging until I hear from you and and you realize oh my god every word I say is an act of creation every thought every feeling I have should be considered a prayer and if that's the case then I must think positively powerfully and prayerfully that I am going to get through this I am getting through this I am getting through this and I'm going to bless this path and every day I am with all of humanity in this and I am going to pray for all of humanity because if we all don't make it I won't make it mm-hmm okay just two final questions for you Carolyn recently we recorded together a series called the power of holy language and it's about prayer what do you think is the most important holy language what actual words could people be invoking and using right now that would be the most hopeful I think what a person needs to really spend time thinking about is faith and trust do they have faith and then what do they have faith what do they have faith in and because as I have often commented on more people can tell me what they don't have faith in with great conviction I don't believe in this and I don't believe in that then what they can tell me they do have faith in and what I tell people is that at least when you know what you don't have faith in with so much emotion at least you know what faith is because that's what it feels like but you need to have faith and how you develop that is that you first start developing faith in yourself give your word to yourself and keep it start there start there start your path to God by giving your word to yourself and saying you know what I'm gonna get up in the morning and I will not have I I will fight a negative thought I will do something positive and I will trust I will trust myself enough to keep that I will do that you have to build faith in yourself because if you don't have faith in yourself you will never have faith in another person you will never have faith that a prayer will be answered it's impossible because you don't even have faith in yourself so how how can you have faith is something you cannot see so you start there with faith and trust and then finally Carolyn you mentioned that you've been teaching on this idea of writing the Phoenix can you help our listeners understand this image of the Phoenix I think most people know the Phoenix can rise from the ashes for people who are finding themselves in the midst of ashes well I theories anigh chose that is because it carries and holds the divine holy promise that no matter how how much or how much we lose life come back and that's a holy promise it is the cycle of life that it is inevitable that there is a cycle of loss but the holy sacred promise is we we will we will rise we will rise from the ashes we will always rise from the ashes life always comes back in some way no matter what no matter how bad no matter what it is the promise is the sacred promise Carolyn thank you so much for being part of sounds crews resilience and challenging times thank you for always inspiring me and being a good friend thank you always you too honey you too sounds true calm waking up the world thanks for being with us you
