Car Troubles in the Smokies Personal vlog

good morning everyone guys uh beautiful morning here in the smoky mountains uh we just woke up it's actually bright early in the morning at 7 00 a.m uh so last night we took my mom's jeep uh into the dealership we had to do it at night because of the transmission slipping uh we got it there and now it's we gotta go there and actually take it in right uh so that's what we're doing this morning uh today's gonna be one of those days where we're just kind of fluffing around you ready dawn let's do this [Music] yeah i have to get this grass it's early in the morning um he's not a morning person well i just woke up and we have to die yeah so we got the trash and we gotta take it to the dump and then we're gonna pick up mom then we're gonna go to the dealership it's gonna be a real fun day um it won't take long though because they you know of course uh the jeep is under a powertrain warranty so hopefully uh chrysler take care of that i don't know we'll see we'll see how good this warranty is um and then i don't know we probably i gotta get a battery out of her um she has a truck a small pickup truck that they don't barely drive the battery went bad in it and we gotta get that and then there's also she has a third vehicle too guys actually it's my well they're my mom's cars and my dad's cars my dad had a bunch of cars my dad also has a mustang and the battery went dead in that too um my dad yeah so the i'll tell you a little backstory about these cars so my dad has a 2000 dakota i think it is and it's only got like 600 miles on it and yeah if the 2000s got 600 miles on them i didn't drive it much you know um my dad was kind of a collector of things and he also has a mustang too it's only got like you know a few thousand miles on it too and of course all both batteries are dead boy that sun is powerful smarting in it yeah judging by traffic right now there's a lot of folks coming into pigeon forge in gatlinburg that's why we drove it up there last night because the traffic was yeah and there's a lot of people coming down all south carolina plains north carolina flights so that's what's going on it's supposed to be high 90 today 90 degrees yeah makes traffic even getting out of out of the out of the house even even bad too oh a lot of people play community back and forth to work some people are coming in town for the weekend it is the fourth of july weekend everyone so yeah the sun is powerful isn't it yeah it is and we're here at the dump dawn's gonna throw our trash away it looks pretty busy this morning i think we got an opening right about you're here take that dump you're gonna take that out yeah i just got a box today and trash box and a bag of trash [Music] okay i don't you like the dump yeah we gotta get rid of your stuff i guess this place to do it so when we lived up in michigan we never had the dumb that don't yeah he always like they did roadside or curb service and you paid for it here it doesn't cost you nothing to go to the dump but you pay for it in taxes so it's those well it's not free but um but yeah you have to actually bring your trash now they do offer like cur curbside but you got to pay extra for that i said why pay extra for that when you're paying for this and your taxes yeah i mean and you just got to drop a bag off like here and there and they're they're all over the county um we go to all different types go this one there's a couple other ones we go to depending which direction we're going good morning mom there's a bunny back there he got it he was greased poor little guy oh was that my bunny baby oh who greased my bunny i don't know we don't have a lot up here don just ran into weigels to get a couple of drinks and we pretty much do this almost every morning at least most mornings all of a sudden it got a little foggy well now we're in my mom's car and we're gonna take this in and have it serviced and we'll see what what's wrong with it i guess they actually have a dodge ball get it dodgeball i got some pretty cool mopar i got a lego kit for a 70 challenger i'm gonna take a look at the at the new jeeps yeah they're they're something leather interior and these jeeps have definitely come a long way definitely this one here's rubicon no wonder but they're come a long way from just being a jeep you know definitely nice it's got four doors and a of course a bed so this one here is 59 860. almost sixty thousand dollars by the time you pay tax and everything on there you can be about well sixty five thousand dollars would you say this is more than the first house that i bought how much do you want for this one 52. 52 000 see how kind of pricey huh i got i got an old charger over here not sure what year this is 70 i'm not familiar with the years she's pretty i think mom found the good stuff this is a srt hellcat dawn mom oh this one here is actually it's actually used yeah it's got 4 000 yeah this is a one of those hellcats you want you want to drive that one no that's just too much for me we're going to take a look around the parking lot we're waiting to see how long it will take for um my mom's car to get looked at and see if let's take a look at some of these these new cars out here so this is the renegades here i guess i don't know how much these are so these renegades are going for about 30 30 000 actually so this jeep gladiator looks like it's the most um reasonably priced one on the lot of course it's got a soft top and uh this would be awesome for camping because you got that truck bed and it's 45 dollars actually it's forty six thousand uh dealerships like to do this they put on running boards so they can add another so much more and all they have is the gladiators they don't have any regular jeeps no uh wranglers you know two doors or nothing like that just these gladiators so very slim pickins actually i do know they're having a hard time no wonder why they offered dawn you know uh 25 000 or something for her jeep they don't have any regular jeeps available they hardly have any inventory to even look at the parking lot is empty here and all they have is about six of those gladiators but no regular jeeps actually maybe that's a regular jeep over there but there's really no no inventory at all i guess that shortage is uh the uh chip shortages really put a hurt on the automotive industry this is one of those new electric jeeps i have never seen i heard about them but anyways you open this door here and there is the electric electric jeep dawn what what what do you think about what do you think about the electric jeeps i think it's really neat i told you that's the futur the future of the car they're all going to go to the electric [Applause] oh that's the truth and that's the beginning of it the tesla and now this i couldn't find a window sticker for it so i don't know what their what the price of this uh white beauty look at that electric wow that's i wonder how far you can go on the charge huh i'm not for sure so it means there's like what no no engine in there well you know what there's a radiator in there dawn oh i bet you this is a hybrid i bet you it's half electric half gas oh okay yeah because there's a radiator in there there's still an engine it's so new there's no window sticker yeah this is probably hybrid really meat though yeah here's a window sticker for one of those hybrid jeeps half electric half gas uh 67 000 sixty-seven thousand dollars and you get 49 miles of the gallon or 20. there's a kitty in here looks like he's uh exploring a little [Music] bit yeah don't do that cute huh we've been waiting about two hours for a diagnosis what do you think don we're waiting and somebody had an accident oh yeah the cat went poof that's what he was doing with the carpet i'm like he might have to go outside oh no he went outside earlier and you called it because you said you said i think you can't need to go inside and she's like then so i had to get out of that waiting room if you ever waited in a waiting room it's not cool uh there's a cat running around there was a dog earlier and the cat pooped and it started stinking real bad in there and i was like oh man so we've been waiting about two hours which is about normal i've waited two hours for an oil change here once uh but this is more major you know what i mean trying to find about the transmission they want us to wait i think we should have been able to like just go out and come back later or something but this means a lot to my mom uh you know the transmission ordeal which i don't blame her she's been losing sleep and and everything else over it i've looked at all the cars in here i do like the gladiators i think they're pretty cool i like you know jeeps in general uh none of the other uh chrysler products really grabbed my attention i've always liked the chrysler 300 but here in the mountains you need something a little more height so anyways uh well hopefully we can get out here get some lunch and um and continue on our day hopefully we don't wait here until like six o'clock tonight so it's noon we've been sitting there the whole time uh we just told them we're going lunch we're gonna go find something to eat uh we haven't eaten all morning so are you hungry yes what about you dawn's always hungry aren't you i like your t-shirt by the way we got that in la california yeah danny trejo he's got a taco place which is actually really good in fact dawn has been having cravings ever since we ate there and she she actually said maybe we can get one of those cheap flights out just to go get some danny trejos tacos and then turn around and come back so we're heading out to lunch we're gonna head back towards sevierville i don't know what we're gonna get uh all your fast food places right now are there's no sit down dining we need to kind of sit down uh but burger king we believe is um has its inside seating so we're gonna check that out so i figured we would have probably found out something about two hours ago and it hasn't been that way we i figured we would have been on our day doing other things i have a feeling the transmission is going to take multiple days to fix guys just by how it was acting um but here we are we're at the burger king here out here and there is some folks are eating inside they are burger king says we are issuing stimulus checks weekly and looks like gas is 289 a gallon isn't it kind of weird that we're like sitting inside and also we're doing like a review of burger king actually it's kind of weird right these the daily vlogs are a lot different but this is the way we sometimes eat right of course dawn do you like burger king no the pop is always small but this is the only fast food restaurant in the area that you can sit down inside everything else you gotta go through the drive through right so and it is here so don ordered the chicken sandwich and of course we got some fries there's me whopper there's my mom's cheeseburger well dig in what are you waiting for the french fries are actually extremely hot and here is that whopper look at that got some mayo the lettuce is sticking to the top just your classic whopper so the big question we always ask don is would you do burger king again do you have to i guess what do you think about value it was okay today was good food because it was hot don ordered a chicken sandwich small fries and a coke i ordered the whopper with extra mayo fries and a diet coke i got some nuggets for a dollar 49. um and mom got a bacon cheeseburger fries and a coke and then we get three dollars and 80 cents off because we got the two for ten and our total came out to 14 no 16 19. so we've been here about five hours we just told the guy i can't we can't wait no more for they're gonna have to give us a call but we're gonna go and try to find we have we have errands to do today don't we and we were there for five hours and we decided uh we just told them that you guys are gonna have to give us a call on this we thought it was gonna be like a like a real quick in and out thing and they don't know what's going on with it they're still trying to figure it out so well hello coco what you doing huh he's being a good girl are you being a good girl yeah the good girl coco bear so we're back at my mom's house and these are actually a couple of my dad's cars and we're gonna get them running we usually jump this mustang um and run it you know twice a month but it needs a new battery and my mom she needs a car to drive during well her her other vehicle being fixed here's another one of my dad's uh vehicles here and uh we're gonna we're gonna pull the battery on this one because the battery is no good i believe there's only 600 miles on this dakota 2014 yep it's a about time for a new battery and there's the battery for the mustang i got both batteries out of the vehicles now we're heading up to walmart and get them replaced so my dad was a very peculiar man um he had a love for a lot of things and one of them was cars and of course this here is the 2000 mustang i believe this is 2 000 this is 2010 2010 mustang it's only got like three five five thousand five thousand miles on it driven this one a little bit and this is a this is the 2010 dakota which has got 73 miles he bought these both brand new brand new and then he's got another car over there which we can't show you we're not going to show you that it would knock your socks off but we can't show you that at this time maybe one day we'll show you that one and that one there is pretty cool but and then my dad's got some other cars too so sand rail yeah he's got a sand rail over here it's not much to show i don't really want to show everybody that it's just yeah so now that dad's gone mom needs some vehicles to drive so well what do you think dad would think about you like driving these vehicles that he didn't drive i think that he'd be happy yeah i think so yeah i think that he said if i needed him to use i remember him saying that he always wanted to make sure that you had something new something to drive even like i said it's very peculiar um yeah yeah but we're gonna get the batteries for these and then we're gonna get these things running turnkey so you'll have three vehicles to choose from i might even steal that mustang for a vlog one of these days i'm just saying it's nice we decided to go to the walmart over in newport which is about a little bit further of a drive but with traffic it's probably quicker but that means we get to drive through english mountain area which is one of my favorite little places to come out and uh so we're gonna head over to county to newport we'll get this battery and we'll get back i'll put them in and then we'll find out what's up with the transmission maybe they'll have word today maybe they won't yeah so my dad was a peculiar man um and he liked to buy things and then he'd be like i guess what just didn't afraid to drive them i don't know what do you think mom i just think that he was thinking of the future you know that cars are going to be well look at the price of cars now 30 to 40 000. you know what i mean so i think that he knew cars were going to go up yeah so he was if he seen a good deal on something he'd jump on it you know so when he buys cars he would buy them when he saw good deals right and so when he bought these cars new i think back in what when he bought the mustang that was during the economy downturn i mean he got that mustang for like like 12 000 brand new out the door you know yeah no don't get me wrong it doesn't have that many miles on it but he always said that cars gonna go up in price and these are brand new cars you know they're you know and you go down there and start them you know um you know once a month twice i think about twice a month he would do them but the batteries just don't hold up over the years that's the problem and the tires it could be we might have to replace some tires too and then you would roll him out put him back you know and then you know that's what he would do um some folks would call him crazy he he could tell by the sound of the car he was such a car man he would know by that transmission exactly what it was that's just the way he was he he just knew his cars you know and he uh you know also with like the dakota i think he he bought that brand here it was like amazing it was like ten thousand nine hundred dollars he had a like a chrysler employee discount and some other things and he got that like super super cheap so he always had a few cars he always wanted a new car right he always had a new car i know like we were talking that he wanted my mom if something were to happen because i think we all knew i think he knew that everybody was gonna out survive him you know and and so i missed him a lot yeah yeah and um i think he wanted to make sure you guys had a new car and sierra will most likely probably get the dakota one day and what have you so i was a guy selling some peaches like south carolina peaches over there there's a fireworks tent though we are here we're here in newport tennessee we're gonna do a little more exploring over here in the future we actually do come over here quite often because it's a little more or less congested than like sevierville and stuff you know like the walmart over here is a lot like a lot easier to get things and get in and out you got a cart no children in the basket well you got two batteries huh [Music] that's the original yeah this is the original one that came with the car dearborn michigan motorcraft and this one's out of warranty by a little bit so they both don't work we we know that yep i honestly love interstate batteries but walmart there's walmart's everywhere and if you have problems with them even if you're out of state or you're in arizona you can get your warranty service so it's actually good to give them here at walmart this one here is a max 27. um right here 119 dollars and here's the battery for the mustang which is 99 wow batteries have really gone up 230 some odd 236 dollars for batteries these are not even like the five-year ones these are el cheapos not many of them family ends left in fact this is the only one in the area i know i guess this guy's got some hot nuts well the mustang is is first okay let's see if this will start up yeah she started up it's got five thousand almost six thousand miles on her yeah now let's hook up battery number two so will driving the mustang yeah it needs a bath but uh she runs beautiful very beautiful actually i can get used to driving this thing so it got laid out and we're back here in the studio and i just want to let you guys all know what happened after i stopped shooting videos so um i went to go get the dakota running dakota started right up everything's great but the brakes were a little locked up so i had to take the uh front end you know the brakes off and re-get them working they seem to work really good now uh but it's still gonna go in to the shop a friend of ours is going to take a look once over because it's been sitting for a while and probably also the mustang will probably go in there shortly but everything seemed to be really good now as for my mom's jeep that we waited for all day no word of course the dealership closed today either we don't know so this is our daily life that you guys are seeing these are the days that we don't make uh youtube videos uh you know we have a lot going on all the time it seems like uh a couple days ago um we went and got new tires on the jeep and the battery went out because of the heat and then the transmission went out which we ended up so it's never ending my mom has a lot of bad luck but that's usually how vehicles work is they all start giving you trouble at the same time but once you get it worked out it usually is pretty decent at that but guys if you guys like these like
