I claim that the the Stones 4 album stretch from '68 to '72 (Beggar's Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main Street) is the most epic output of any musical artist from the birth of Rock and Roll to present.
Any single ONE of those albums would qualify for a spot on the top 50 greatest albums of all time. But to have FOUR of them, back to back to back to back?
A streak of such quality, by ANYONE, has never happened since, and I believe never will again.
Keithβs guitar tone and Wattsβ perfect groove really shine here. Always loved this tune
You canβt get an iTunes account with a zipper on the front. If you donβt get the reference ask you parents.
Nasty-ass rock n roll perfection! That godamm dirty, gritty. original, unforgettable riff! Those sleazy lyrics {and how low-down they are sung).... this song seems like it came to Keith, then Mick, fully formed and waiting for the right players to find it.
The second half brilliance happened live when recording (true,,, when the rest of the band got possessed as well)
current alltime favorite
My highschool years actually 69-73 every other week there was some more ass kicking music to hear on my light blue Sony transistor radio. I didn't realize at the time I would still be loving this stuff damn near 50 years later. What a fantastic fucking song.
So did they put a casting call out for some dude with a massive dong to model for the album art?
That really is a bad-ass song. The main riff is one of Keith's best and i love Bobby Keys' saxophone work. I really love the outro jam, no disrespect to Brian Jones and Ron Wood but the Mick Taylor-years were the Stones at their peak imo.
The first 2:42 is unparalleled in perfect greasiness....I never could tolerate the rest and I fucking love the Stones. Itβs like the self-indulgent Layla piano coda
