I recently tried to sell a piano for my mom. What they are worth and what they will actually sell for vary greatly in today's piano market. There is basically no market...no one wants a piano :(

Not entirely a fair comparison. These pianos are designed to have different timbre. Its why the upright is tinny and the concert grand is loud/full sounding. Yes, the size of the piano is a major part of the cost, but there are very expensive varieties of each. For instance, there are 100k baby grands that would have been a fairer comparison to the second piano.

In real life? Yes, absolutely. It's harder through a video due to both the recording device and YouTube's compression.
