Can We build a Sequoia In 5 Days?

hey are you uh busy this week yeah we have a sequoia that we need to build that's gonna need uh lockers suspension uh bumper switch Pro and uh brakes how long would that take to do I don't know two weeks week and a half yeah five days I'm not feeling too hot see if I'm more alive tomorrow you know if this bearing is not in all the way I'll be able to see through the Light Between the carrier and the bearing also fun fact did you know that the Sequoia at least the second generation has a independent rear suspension on top of that the rear differential is 10 inches the carrier bearings are bigger than a Dana 70. also I have an entire Sequoia to build in five days well so this is going to be essentially my work wife for the next five days and the amount of work apparently just keeps getting piled on top of whatever I am doing I got the rear differential that I got to work on today and I'll be taking care of that and then tomorrow we're going to start tearing into this thing so yeah I got I got a lot to do [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] you know what just occurred to me is he doesn't have sliders that had just occurred to me he following me around all creepy like it's upstairs huh he doesn't have sliders what are you doing uh trying to build this nasty big Sequoia without a set of Sliders in fact I'm gonna I'm gonna ask him where his sliders are [Music] so Monday is primarily just me getting the differential set up I already have a front one built so I'm kind of cheating a little bit and you know what I don't feel guilty about it at all the deadline's pretty tight here's to hoping that everything falls into place [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] things just got easier [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] I caught every single bit of that conversation what so um professional Marksmanship stepping in it's not water I don't know what it is foreign [Music] task of having to take the rear differential out because it's not funny [Music] I'm gonna go ahead and Bolt the ABS line simply because uh I don't want to over extend it and break it don't ask me how I know but I'm not so I've been fighting this CV axle pretty much all morning to give me enough room to get the differential out and also our current spring compressor is broken until our new one comes in tomorrow I also kind of forgot the fact that JLo gave me some pretty important information this morning up um so it's been a very long time since I've taken the Sequoia apart but uh JLo was ever so kind to kind of let me know that don't have to take the CV axle out to get the different route and I completely forgot about that but we got the spring out so it's all part of the plant I'm gonna edit this to make it look like it's in my favor Land Cruisers are the best vehicles ever made over the Sequoia in order for me to get to the differential I need to take the spare tire off there's two main mounting bolts back there that I need to uh dug a duga and I can't hug a dog go with a spare tire in the way [Music] which guy we didn't take it out last time no it seems like it's about to fall off coming down [Music] [Music] that was an adventure [Music] she is heavy 150 pounds this thing so we're gonna do it the same ah all right you hold on to it on for Life curiosity did we put new axle shaft SEALS or anything huh we put new upper chefs on it yeah foreign okay I got the back all done at least for now it's all bolted back together I'm gonna go move to the front and trying to move as fast as I can it is four o'clock I got an hour and a half I can see if I can swap the front diff before we have to leave today ah [Music] yeah of course you wanna jolt it free just like a little easy pop like that go ahead and drain this hey [Music] foreign [Music] fact about second generation sikoras they have the ability to be two-wheel drive all-wheel drive 4x4 and have four low gear it's pretty darn cool now the trash Hat's out of the way [Music] well here's uh all of the suspension pieces that already going into the Sequoia and it is currently low battery on my watch it's 5 20. so we know what we're doing tomorrow [Music] thank you let me tell you yesterday took a majority of my day just on that rear differential I've kind of already lost a day sorta I should have had that done like four hours but it's been a hot minute and if I've done it several times I'm sure I could have done a lot faster but the front diff and the front end is going to move pretty smooth we should have the whole front end knocked out um I re-geared this about three months ago it's already 529 gears with a harab e-locker in the front so I'm going to go ahead seal up the snap because it's one thing I did not do and once that snout is sealed then we can go ahead and put it into the truck yes sir you got me seals yeah you come delivering the goods yeah cool don't lose them oh I'll lose them [Music] hello hi I'm just gonna keep locking her up [Music] all right relax [Music] all right okay the c-clip and the CV axle was being a stubborn son of a gun uh with the help of Dante we got him in we got both in so I gotta put the knuckles back together I can start working on getting the whole suspension at least the front the front uh what are they called shocks [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] Campbell seized guy cut it out [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] okay since I'm waiting on well actually the new lower control arm is here but I'm waiting on the candles until I get those I really can't do anything to the right side I got the left side all taken care of for now so I'm gonna go ahead get the rest of the locker systems kind of sorted out I need to go ahead and bolt on the drive shaft for the front and then I also need to go ahead and start running the electronics from the e-locker in the rear all the way up to the engine bay at the front so this way I'm continuously making progress even though I'm kind of waiting for parts all right so uh here's my cable here I just gotta find a route once I find a route I'm good but that's half the battle because if you do it wrong then you can get too close to a suspension arm run the wire raw or you could put it too close to the exhaust melt it through so it's just gotta have some foreflight and then it also has to have the ability to be serviceable if possible foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] e-locker [Applause] [Applause] [Music] routed and then uh tomorrow will be hopefully finishing up the suspension we're falling really far behind it's already 5 30 it's actually 5 36. and I still got to mount the switch Pro do the front bumper alignment rear springs rear shocks and the all the suspension on the right side running out of time [Music] foreign [Music] I just realized my mistake [Music] all right [Music] the one thing I really love is that you don't use band clamps to put your reservoir on you get a nice little clean install setup that's very secure very well executed ah all right so the control arms are here finally and the bolts for the lower control arms are here finally I gotta go ahead and get them on the truck I'm tired I don't feel good so yeah uh I went ahead and cleaned up the old Caster bolts because I can reuse them and even on the new camber bolts what I'm going to do is I'm going to wrap them in anti-seize and that will keep them from seizing together to the color of the control arm and give the customer longer lasting life on their on their setup oh foreign battery so I'm going to go ahead and charge it and eat lunch as well [Music] now that everything's kind of installed I can go ahead and torque everything down 221 foot pounds of deer dad Toyota hey Joey [Music] I miss you foreign bushings on the lower shock bolts I can torque this up in the air and not worry about it [Music] I don't know if it's allergies or what I'm not feeling too hot [Music] [Music] I've hit my limit for tonight it's like 7 30. go home take a shower take a lot of medicine see if I'm more alive tomorrow it's gonna be a long day what was the deadline yes two hours and four hours for switch Pro then uh brake lines how many hours do we need for the break so I though I'm not feeling too well I still have to get the job done so I went ahead and started doing the body mount chop while Jonathan was finishing up the badger kit install that he did on the Sequoia make every individual harness for each light because they didn't come with any harnesses and I don't want to make a dinky harness so still still going at it I got that on video actually I want to dying from the plague and uh yeah but we're pretty close to putting the front bumper on and once the front Bumper's on I got all the lights wired in then we can go ahead and stick it on alignment me was the differentials but once once we got past that it kind of seemed to flow pretty good and I was very fortunate to have the team that I have here at the shop that was helping me get everything
