how's it going everybody I'm Nikki delventhal and these are my dogs Rodney and camper delventhal for over 3 years we lived in a Toyota Prius but now we're in a 4x4 Sprinter and we're here to take you along on the wild ride so fasten up your seat belts and let's have some fun don't forget if you like what you see like subscribe comment share with your friends and turn on notifications we would be so thankful Nevada's Cowboy Corridor is a 400m road trip on Interstate 80 that connects Reno to West Wendover though most people will just blast down this highway this route includes so many major attractions that I would not want to miss today we are starting our Cowboy Corridor I 80 road trip in Lovelock Nevada now we are going to help the town live up to its name by locking our love at the famous Love Lock Plaza lovers come from all over the world to follow the ancient Chinese custom of putting their lock on a NeverEnding chain there are over a thousand locks here it is pretty unbelievable how much love sits around here but it is said that as long as your lock remains here so will your love so we can track that this is ours we're going to put a little paper clip on it love that what if fun and heartwarming start to our road trip and we are just getting started so let's get to our next destination load up go ahead good boys that might have been the first time I used that door all year all right you guys ready to goop boop boop all right Mr Valentine off the dash come on let's go thank you 64 miles to go to our next spot uh fun fact from the slowest driver on the planet the uh speed limit on I80 is generally 80 miles per hour mine is in the small town slow down but uh yeah it's kind of challenging for an old bird like me everyone's passing me and I'm going so fast that's a joke that's fine I can do this [Music] [Music] we have made it to Unionville Nevada now this place is very different it's not your typical tourist destination so chances are you're probably not even going to see anyone walking or driving through here but what you will see is a place that is super back country that has a ton of history and just this really different feel to it so Unionville has a population of only 20 residents H maybe 40 or 50 if you're going to include the farm animals and not only that the nearest services are over an hour away so you already have this really out there feel but what makes this place so special is its history like many other Nevada towns this was once booming I believe from 1860 to about like 1873 this place had over 1,500 people which if you ask me is very hard to believe uh considering what it looks like now it attracted silver or Seekers and miners alike and oh my goodness was it booming even Mark Twain took a stab at mining apparently and his C cabin still stands here this drive and just the feeling that you get here is so cool even as we approach the cemetery here it is just wild look at this place it is so vacant it's just so hard to believe the history that was here but you know that's what makes places like this so special we are truly in what people would call a living ghost town but with that being said uh we are still just getting started on this road trip there's so much more to do so let's get back on to I80 and to our next [Music] destination somebody knows we're about to leave the pavement we are searching dirt roads back here right now for a place to camp for the night uh there is BLM land outside of wiam Muka and that's usually a really good option for free Wild camping of you can find fire Rings things like that so we're going to take our chances especially because in the morning we have a lot that we want to do here so let's hope we can find something nice there's actual designated spots along here so that guy's got that one let's see what else we can find ah no way this is camping all right I like this um hang on let's see what else there is all right climbing on up this is a nice BLM area everything is super developed and numbered so feels good let see if there's anything up here all right this bad boy's taken by a pretty cool rig this one's taken taken you boys stay on the lookout okay yeah got it m so the struggle with free Wild camping is finding a spot cuz often they're taken so we got to the top here and this spot looks incredible it's right on the water this is like ideal but it looks like there's a cricket in fation up here so I'm kind of torn if we go back down or if we deal with the Crickets I mean like look at this spot oh but they're everywhere oh God they it's touching me oh God okay oh God so we decided to stay despite the crickets for two reasons one a guy pulled up with a pole trailer and asked if he could park over here with us because there were no camping spots back down there and uh number two doesn't matter because number one there's no more left up there so we are sharing this spot with the guy behind us and yeah so beautiful River it is before we have dinner I forgot it is going to get buggy and there's a lot of crickets so we got to do the bug net Focus free good boy free I haven't even started my dinner yet you guys and you're already done so why cook here's a treat for you treat for you also kind of brushing your teeth oh almost we out the best part if you're new here I'm about to blow your mind so on the road box salads and bag salads they are my signature they keep you healthy they're nutritious and very little cleanup I eat these literally every day it's been what like four years I uh I can't get enough of it and if you don't like salads it's cuz you're not putting enough toppings on so I just realized the sun doesn't go down for another couple hours till 8:30 so what do you boys say you want to go on a hike let's go so I'm thinking I kind of want to get a view of when amaka if we can so why don't we try to go all the way up there first we must go through the valley of the Crickets oh God there's so many do you like the cricket that's a fun guy huh it is is so beautiful out it is 65° and sunny does not get better than [Music] [Music] this oh yeah this was the right decision see it GL to the town [Music] already when I first got Rodney I did not think he was going to be able to hike and I was going to have to carry this guy in a backpack every day and now he's schooling me there it is [Music] all right ladies and gentlemen we are going to enjoy this Sunset and we will meet you all back at the van it is time for bed in the Delvin Haller for sure but first we are taking a shower pump is on instant hot water all right floor towel let's use this [Music] one boy night camper love you going tuck in Mr Valentine night everybody [Music] oh man I'm probably going to lose my today because I ran out of Decap coffee too much caffeine is not good [Music] can we just talk about this Aspen Grove this is incredible fun fact if you don't know this already an Aspen Grove is actually One Singular organism this is all one big Network between the trees this Camp spot is so incredible but we do have a ton on the agenda today so much to show you guys um we do have to get ready and honestly filming usually takes an extra few hours so in the name of time we're going to hurry up and do that and we'll meet you all when we're ready to go we skipped ahead and we are here in downtown winam Maka at the Buckaroo Hall of Fame a place that you need to go to get a true sense of Buckaroo culture this is the Buckaroo Hall of Fame and Heritage Museum I recommend stopping here just so you get an idea of the culture this is an intriguing museum with fascinating Western memorabilia and photos that surround the Hall of fame's 70 plus indues honestly just stopping here even for a few minutes gives you a better idea of the western culture you can enjoy displays of traditional working gear like traps and Saddles paintings sculptures photos drawings and more it's here that the spirit of the true Legends of the American West can be appreciated and live on for future generations to enjoy I have certainly been moved by the nature of these hardworking men this is a really cool stop on the way just to enjoy but now we are off to our next spot and what do you say we get there quickly 10 miles north we have wamaka sandunes all right come on boys let's go one plus this place is dog friendly although you do want to be careful because it's really popular for off-roading and atving so just keep an ear out for any uh vehicles coming by but this is a really awesome spot just for that and just for exploring although these sand dunes don't get above 100 fet usually it is a very big area spanning 40 miles so when a sand dunes put it on your list if you're here while these guys ATV we're doing sprints to get the energy out come on boys [Music] [Music] thanks for being here you guys don't forget like subscribe join patreon if you want Early Access we'll see you next week probably can't even hear me because there's so much wind hitting the van it's like I'm moving so fast
