foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign foreign foreign [Applause] foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] foreign what's going on everybody welcome back to the channel today's episode Boomer and I are out on a very cold snowy windy day in the winter on the edge of a beautifully half frozen lake as you guys can see we've got the van camper with us we're all set up with the awning pitch the stove pipe out the top now it is time to start on a hot drink so I think I'm gonna fire up the wood stove I do have the diesel heater full of diesel fuel as well and we're going to be using a combination of those two for cooking and heating the van this evening and doing some outdoor cooking as well this beautiful view of this Lake right now so let's get that wood stove sparked up and I start on a hot drink thank you [Music] foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] foreign foreign [Music] foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] foreign foreign thank you foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign [Music] foreign foreign thank you thank you foreign foreign [Applause] foreign foreign foreign thank you [Music] [Music] thank you foreign foreign thank you foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign foreign foreign guys with supper all finished up and night time really quickly approaching the snow's actually picking up giving this an amazing Vibe right now Boomer's loving it he's outside running playing he can jump inside the van any point in time when he wants to get warm and I think he really enjoys that because we're with the camper truck he can't exactly jump in it's way too high uh even lifting the van three inches and adding 33 inch tires to it he could still jump on the bottom step and jump up in the bed so he is definitely loving this he's in and out every few minutes running around on play and back inside to get warm so supper's all done I cooked it all up in the titanium walk over the scottle and the propane tank actually held out for quite a while it didn't freeze up too bad so I was able to reheat my food and I still got probably half a tank of fuel and I'm really happy with that so what I'm going to do is do a quick clean up and get the squad all packed back inside of the storage area get all the dishes cleaned up that way we're ready to go later on if I want to cook something up in the evening inside or on the tailgate as well as in the morning so I'm going to do a really quick clean up and kick back and enjoy this beautiful snow it is absolutely incredible looking out on this Lake literally from my living room in the van with the wood stove crackling and popping staring out at this blue hour Lake but the water just kind of Rippling it's not totally frozen because the water's still moving there's actually a little stream that goes through this Lake in two different spots so the water's still moving so I don't think right here is actually going to freeze I think it's going to stay liquid but it is negative seven degrees Celsius there's ice all over the place all the water that was Liquid earlier is now freezing so I'm gonna do a very quick cleanup like I was saying and kick back and relax and enjoy some of this nightlife guys foreign oh foreign foreign foreign foreign guys clean up is all done and I've got quite the vibe going on right now it is just about total darkness out the wind and the snow still pushing in off this Lake I've gone ahead and turned all the white lights off we've got a beautiful Ambience going on right now so I've got the warm lights inside I can actually feel the heat from the wood stove rocking right out this doorway negative eight degrees Celsius right now I've closed the rear curtains over the windows that way it will hold in a lot more heat and cut any giraffe and I've got half the curtain in the front closed right now I'm going to leave the other side open for a little bit because my change of clothes is up in the front of the van and a couple other pieces of gear so that'll stay open for later on and then when I do crawl in my wet pants jacket all that stuff we'll get hung up on these interior hooks on the door panel that way when I close the door it is facing the guy the glass door from the wood stove and it will actually dry out very very quickly waking up in the morning these will be dry they'll be warm my shoes the same thing prop them up on the hooks everything will be totally dry I've topped up the diesel tank for the diesel heater so that is prepped and ready to go because early on in the morning I will be running that but when I go to sleep I always let my wood stove go out no matter what I've got a negative 60 degree sleeping bag inside I'm absolutely going to be warm but it's nice to have a warm space as well if you're going to be glamping out here you might as well do it right you know what I'm saying so the wood stove will go out later on I do have a carbon monoxide detector inside of here it's just peace of mind I don't have to get out of bed to put wood in the stove I can just let it go out and then I can just reach over and click on the diesel heater and turn that on low if I really want to or wake up in the morning and crank it on high heat up the van and then get out of bed and light the wood stove so it is now relaxed time guys I'm going to be shutting one of these doors I think I'm going to shut this outer door and get the awning so it's going to be pitched nice and tight later on so that way when I go to sleep it won't blow away right now I do have two gloves up on the corners of the doors that way it doesn't puncture the awning material so I'm going to pull this one off that'll relieve some tension I'll have to retention the guy line take care of that and I'll worry about the other one later on so let's start getting warm and relaxing okay foreign foreign okay foreign foreign foreign foreign guys climbing inside of the van it is already roasty toasty nice and warm in here so I have a change of clothes up here my little cubby hole base layer pants and a new dry long socks that's basically all I'm going to put on for now just a thin layer of base layer pants and some fresh socks because my feet are soaking wet and freezing cold my pants near the bottom are quite wet hanging them on the door they'll dry out in no time and Boomer has already crashed out so you gotta get him out of his jacket actually I do that right now it's not too terribly warm up here yet but just putting that fan on top of the stove is going to direct a lot of heat over here towards the bed and Boomer is going to get really hot so I don't want him falling asleep with a sweater yeah don't help or anything bud just uh yeah just a move let's get this off come on oh it's soaked it's wet there so I'll hang my clothing up and his get it nice and dry and uh he'll be a happy pup and he'll be a happy wolf as it were so now you're awake so I'm gonna get changed into some comfier clothes and I'll give you guys a look around the van and talk about some of the upgrades that I've done recently and where we're going to be heading for future upgrades coming very very soon so time to get changed all right so all changed and feeling like a million bucks nice warm and dry Boomers loving this wool blanket down here just rolling around on the floor it is super warm right here too so this is his Jam this is what he likes he likes to just hang out right here in front of a wood stove so give you guys a little bit of a tour for those of you who have not seen the van camper yet as mentioned earlier there is a diesel heater which is in this cabinet hidden away wood stove we got the titanium wood stove with the roof vent so very easy to pop the stove pipe through the roof and continue burning wood whenever I like to and I just basically burn the stove out before hitting the road take out the ash pan make sure it's totally out put the cap back in the roof and and that is it Boomer you want to play I know um as far as electricity in here I run the van all on portable battery stations so down here I have a what is this let's pull this out see what I brought today this is a rock Pals battery unit I believe this is a six yeah 600 watt 614 Watt hours this is the Freeman so I have that down here for basically charging batteries for GoPro camera gear cell phone things of that nature I have a jackery 2000 up in the front seat as well I use that for backup power just in case my large battery goes dead and for the large power I have an alpha s that is a 2000 watt unit I'll give you guys a look at that really quick and that is basically the brains of the van so right now I have one light on if I turn that off right now we're just running on two battery lanterns and the light from the wood stove is absolute absolutely beautiful in the night once all the lights are off it just glows in here with the natural wood grain so these lights we've got two up here two on the ceiling above the camera and then I've got two more over here by the door so there's plenty of light for indoor and outdoor use all those lights are run on the battery unit that I have down here I should mention that I have a lot of 2000 watt battery stations just one of the perks of doing this for a lifestyle I have quite the collection so that's the reason why I went with removable battery stations I could take them in and out that way I don't have to have a hardwired battery unit in the van that only stays in the van I could take this out and put in my truck I could put in my bus I could put it in the house during a power outage it just works really well for me super simple super clean and then we also have LED strip lighting all around so I'll turn on the AC on this battery unit and those should light up in just a moment I've got the remote down here so right now I've got them set for teal they're underneath the trim on that side that side so it's totally invisible while you're in here uh the camera is positioned lower than I am so you might be able to see the actual strips but basically invisible it gives a really really cool Vibe and that changes colors red blue yellow whatever color you want super super nice Vibe so right now the battery unit is putting out eight Watts eight watts and 108 hours I've only gone through eight percent the entire day and I've had that on with these lights off and on doing different things so it'll run the diesel heater as well I believe with all of the lights on all two four six eight eight light sources with the diesel heater on it'll run for over a hundred hours so 2000 watt battery unit is definitely the way to go for me the wood stove is a pamale titanium dweller stove that is a perfect size it Heats this van really really hot I can feel my face starting to get roast and hot right now I'm burning bio brick so it is real wood but there's no binders it's just bound together with pressure they're basically bricks of sawdust and they're just pressed together with pressure I've got them stored under here in our wood store area and then I've got more out back underneath the bed that big Polo drawer full of tools and firewood out there as well I have a diesel jug placed underneath of the van that's because I basically don't want diesel inside especially around a fire source so that's outside underneath um and then yeah that's basically it so I'll give you guys a little spin around show you the bed area and a couple of upgrades that I did and as far as the outside goes I did weld on a rack I got quite a bit of welding done I've installed the awning there's so another awning that's going on the back of the van I got the van lifted three more inches so it's sitting a lot higher and we're on 33 inch ko2s from BF Goodrich very very capable I've got the removable winch on the rear trailer hitch and that's basically going to go on all the vehicles so I could just take it off put it inside put it on the truck put it on the bus put on any of our vehicles and as well as put it on the front once we get the front hitches installed that way it can go on all the vehicles one winch it is locked right now the lock pin so no one can come around and take it yeah so I'll give you guys a quick little spin around show you the inside and then I think I'm going to relax for the evening once this little bugger settles down all right so coming up into the bed area it is nice and warm up here being way up near the ceiling which is a bonus having the bed up this High because when the stove starts to damp down through the evening you're in the residual heat channel so it lasts a long time I am on a massive amount of sleeping bags and wool blankets and everything so it is up higher than it usually is but it is definitely comfortable I've got my pillow up here jammed in there so I do have more than enough room to lay straight I should mention it just doesn't look that way right now because everything's bunched up on the foot end and the tail on the head end down here so if you guys caught the last episode when I was out in the van I did install a phone holder up there boomers are going crazy right now I I've changed that so my head ends up towards this end today because I want to look at the wood stove as well as the new phone holder so this is one of those kind of expandable arms I placed the mount right over here by the diesel heater so now I can basically rotate this wherever I want while I'm watching movies hands-free so I can basically rotate this down this is pretty basic stuff I know a lot of people know what these are for but I can lock that in wherever I want lock all these positions in hands-free watch a movie do whatever I got to do if I'm a head ends on that end for whatever reason let's say the Vans tipped and my head's over there I can just simply rotate this around and watch from that end if I'm over there cooking on the wood stove I can spin it around and do all that as well so it's a nice little setup that just comes out and just sets down there so I'll definitely be using that later on this evening with the Bluetooth speaker and a lot of bass thumping in here uh lights up here have already been here you guys know that the little cubby down here right where my foot is I know it's kind of hard to see um that is going to be for other changes of clothing and stuff the envelope here kind of collect all basket it does hook onto this hook over here as well when I'm driving so I have a full view but that's just kind of where I throw whatever items right now there's a bag of chips in there some body wipes and a bag of rice I know that's kind of random but just leftover stuff from the last trip I haven't really cleaned it out yet so spice containers up here somebody did ask me what are these they're empty right now there's no Spice in here we're gonna wait to stock this probably in a week or so once we really get the final touches of the van done but these are magnetic spice holders for cooking on the wood stove inside and that's basically it guys um if you guys have any questions about the van build at all there is a full build playlist on our other channel destination Wilderness the link is down in the video description and in the pinned comment so have a look at that and I'll walk you through the entire build process inside and outside of this van and there's more videos coming as we're going to actually start working on the outside we're going to be Raptor lining the outside off-road lights bumper a whole bunch of toys going on so enough talk and boring a lot of people that probably don't care about that um we're gonna start chilling out guys the wood stove's rocking the fans blowing all that heat over here I've got all my stuff ready for morning my Kettle my coffee um I'm not sure what kind of coffee I'm going to do if I'm going to do another mocha pot or if I'm going to do a pour over uh I probably won't have a hand in the morning because by the looks of it Boomer's gonna chew it off but we are going to have a little bit of play time wear this guy out and then it's going to be movie time and I cannot wait to wake up in the morning open up those side doors and have a look at that beautiful Lake so I'm going to say goodnight to you guys peace out and I'll catch you first thing in the morning for coffee foreign [Music] [Music] thank you foreign [Music] foreign foreign foreign [Music] [Music] foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign thank you foreign good morning everybody it is a beautiful morning out here today it is actually in the plus temperatures which is quite surprising because a lot isolated got down to about negative eight and then it started pouring with rain and the temperature came up it was a wild night so the van was rocking back and forth quite windy the awning survived I'm actually really really happy I got it one time to use the washroom and re-anchored the guy lines I didn't have to touch it for the rest of the night so I was actually really happy with that waking up this morning a little bit warmer like I was saying I had the diesel heater kicked on probably at about 5 a.m and just to kill the dampness off and I woke up lit the wood stove shut the diesel heater off and enjoy this beautiful lake with Misty fog out here was incredible so a boomer has been running around he's a little wet right now trying to dry up I got him on the blanket uh he's gonna cozy up to the next stove in just a moment but he just wants to go and play so today is a little a little challenging to kind of keep them in and get a little bit warm but once he kind of wakes up and fully gets warm he'll run around and he'll be totally okay so we're gonna take this morning rather slow it's it's nice and quiet out here hot coffee on the girl beautiful heat from the wood stove epic scenery epic scenery the fog has now passed so it's not Misty anymore which is a little Downer but I am going to cook up some breakfast I brought some pancake mix and I forgot the maple syrup I know how Canadian of me right so I'm Gonna Get Out The Griddle on the tailgate in the back of the fan area and I'm not going to use a skottle I'm actually going to use the griddle cook up some pancakes probably one or two plain pancakes and that way Boomer can snack on one and have some coffee and just enjoy the scenery out here guys so cheers good morning foreign [Applause] foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign foreign all right guys we're snacking away on our pancakes Boomer seems to enjoy them now I did forget the maple syrup but they're actually not plain so what I did is I added a pack of coconut and something coconut and chia and pumpkin seed oatmeal mix to these and I cooked them on the griddle with coconut oil so it tastes like coconuts it's actually really good hmm so we're going to enjoy breakfast right here in the doorway of the van some nice hot pancakes beautiful heat coming out of that wood stove and I've got the back door wide open right now too so this nice little breeze coming through it is super comfortable right now so breakfast pancakes hot coffee crackling wood stove a little bit of a ripple out there on the lake two thumbs up for that so cheers guys I'll catch up with you as soon as we're done eating foreign foreign foreign foreign thank you foreign [Applause] guys I've got the van fired up everything packed inside neatly stowed away gonna let this thing warm up and then hit the road I've got to say this is definitely enjoyable a little bit of difference with the climate it was supposed to be freezing today but it took a turn to warmed up I could feel the cold setting in though and it is suggesting that it is going to be colder later on this evening so we'll see how tonight goes somewhere else in a tent or a hammock I don't know what I'm going to do yet like I said I've got all my gear in the front seat gonna hike in and take it from there but wrap this video up here thank you guys for joining me if you have any questions or comments drop it down below and definitely check the links in the description available as well so peace out guys I'll catch you in the next video foreign [Music]
