Camilla Luddington Missed Her "Grey's Anatomy" Audition | E! Red Carpet & Award Shows

when I got the audition for Grey's actually I missed the audition for Grey's Anatomy I was at comic-con promoting Tomb Raider my manager had called me I had tested for a shaundalyn pilot before that so I I knew Shonda and she said you know they want you to come in and read for this role of an intern but you've missed it it's Friday they're not seeing any more people and then I remember the Saturday saying they haven't found the girl they want and you and four other girls they've asked you to come in on Monday I auditioned in my British accent and my American I believe I heard on the Wednesday and I remember my manager calling me and telling me that I had the role and I remember saying what am i a my English I am my American she was like I don't know I'm gonna call you back and then I started work on the Friday I think that the medical jargon gets a little bit easier it was very intimidating at first it does get a little bit easier because you start to just be become very familiar with the words you're saying but sometimes it is intimidating we have these amazing oo-aah scenes and they can take all day to shoot and they're complicated and so the mixture of performing a surgery and making sure that you look like an actual surgeon and saying all of the dialogue it can get a little tricky yeah we're kind of a big family I mean we you have to realize that we spend ten months of the year together you know a lot of shows or you know eight episodes or twelve episodes we're 24 episodes so we are a family if you go to my Instagram you can see pictures of you know videos of me and Justin playing I spy between takes we just have a lot of fun because there are long hours and to keep your energy up it helps to you know hang out with your classmates well Justin because you stuck with me definitely Justin and then we're very close with our crew too so our our hair makeup girls they're of course with me all the time is most like well I would say that Jessica captial who played Arizona Robbins is literally a ray of sunshine rainbow unicorn she is that wonderful in real life just like Arizona she's that sunny of a person Justin's a lot less grumpy than Alex Karev is very grumpy he's a lot brighter I think than Alex I think it's definitely a testament to the right is of course I think that you know them bringing in an influx of characters of course as always a new intern class that comes and then you see people develop into amazing surgeons or for example we bring in our first male gay Serge and I just think that grazes has been able to keep things fresh for 15 seasons which is absolutely remarkable I cool-ass a unicorn cuz I don't know if I'll ever have this experience ever again and I just think it's what keeps the fans coming back you
