um this has been a tough day for our city a tough day for angelinos and I have spent time with our uh fire chief going around town looking at some of the what is really Devastation for many uh homeowners and residents who have had to suffer from mudslides related to the storm we anticipate the Reigns for a couple of more days but know that we are not standing alone in our city I have been in regular communication with our governor vice president Harris has reached out to us to let us know on the federal level and on the state level they are there they are with us they are standing by and we'll be helpful with anything that we need need this is not the end please remain safe and off the roads register for notify La the city again and all of the First Responders will be working around the clock to serve and we will keep you informed as the storm continues uh if you could just say a word I I I know angelinos would really appreciate hearing look first of all I think you you guys are undergoing one hell of an operation here and a catastrophic chis of flash flooding is still I guess in in the works you know I just cut off the phone with Governor Nome working closely together that the state is mobilized the resources you need if there's anything more you need from us from my FEA director Dan gisell is on top of this along with region n administrator Bob Bon and Fe is well positioned with Personnel State emergency Operation Center and resources across the state we'll get any help on the way as soon as you guys request it so just let me know that's why I'm calling okay well thank you so much Mr President I now at approximately 245 lfd resources responded to a river rescue operation in the Pima wash at Foothill Boulevard a bystandard reported A man jumped into the flowing water in pursuit of his dog now lfd firefighters including special life swiftwater rescue Urban search and rescue and rescue helicopter Crews successfully rescued the resident and his dog in a coordinated operation lfd operations lowered a rescuer into the water who was able to grab the patient who was is still conscious he was later treated at a local hospital and his canine was able to swim to the edge and escape the Rapids the rescue is a dramatic example of why we're asking residents to please stay away from the LA River and other moving water let me know if we'll res your let know if they just unless you coordinate with uh fire they get up in the they want to7 here I guess there's a fire okay okay for [Music] that one is actually well we were sitting down getting ready to eat when um we heard a big rumbling and it sound 10 times worse than an earthquake rumbling and then the house started fiercely shaking and then we just hear a big boom and the ceiling fell down wires came down beams came down [Music] it was just terrible and it was frightening it's something that you never want to hear feel or experience um and it just destroyed the inside of the house uh what room is that that's the dining [Music] [Applause] room and then it fell on my house there been trees falling all around here and feed trees down the street these these trees are they need to do something about it I think the city needs to do something about it clean up the dealing with it's starting to cause a dip in the T in the dirt and it's and see the damage right there you see where we Ted over stuff that's over there um it's like it's soon as I got home uh tree snaps and falls on the power line and takes out uh takes out the line and and one of the poles and right then and there we lost power and like literally literally 10 minutes later the wind takes my canopy the way it snatched that canopy it was like it was going kite flying uh it was just unbelievable winds were pretty strong and the trees we was looking at the trees they were bowing and bending scar it was really scary watching them way back and [Applause] [Music] [Music] forth so last night at midnight we were watching Shrek 2 and my friend comes in and he's like I just tread up the hill in mud we had no idea we heard it was raining but we didn't know there was anything like that we looked outside and there's a foot and a half of running water outside of the house um and it start steeping through the doors and so they start they start boarding up the doors and I'm like running equipment upstairs cuz we have Studios downstairs and like we're trying to save things and we make the decision to go to our neighbor's house um in that in the evening we wake up and my car is in 5 ft of mud his car is in yeah your car is fine but other friends in 3 ft of mud and the house is not good I mean this this happens uh very rarely but uh there's three cracks in the top of the hill so the mud is has come down and uh it's just too much rain and not enough places for it to go and so you know uh now the city is going to have to come out and put some t rails in concrete barriers to divert the mud flow and um it's crazy huh yeah it's it's very crazy we're there I'm I'm we live right next to we're in [Applause] 1858 [Applause] [Music] I [Music]
