to race that's the number one way to not race anyway c8 corvette we have it here because we have to torture test it for we have to and like i said the quick backstory they put a dry sump in this mainly so that they can sit the motor as low as possible so it's the shortest v8 chevy's ever built and part of that was creating the right oil for it so mobile one was like a big part of making this car and they got to do a bunch of testing on it yo brian what this car has like 300 miles on it and the engine bay is this dirty already what did you do i just did me do you think a gary king could fit in this no chance let's not let's not break the one nice thing i have can we oil the truck i don't care about golf so but if i could fit a really good race car driver in my trunk i'm into it wow pretty rad and i stand by it only driven it for like 400 and no 512 miles which is a whole other story because apparently this makes you drive it under 4 500 rpm for the first 500 miles unfortunately we got here it was only like 230 miles so i took a little trip last night so who knew you couldn't just drive a car off the dealership floor and immediately bring it to race it currently on a mileage mission to be able to hit enough miles for the race tomorrow [Music] 425 miles 75 miles left to go took a little run up to the air's us army base which happens to be on the back side of big sur and some windy roads time to unlock this baby there we go it's just shy of 500 horsepower at 495. it's a 6.2 it's the lt2 engine right it's got eight-speed transmission that's kind of what makes it really fast i wish it came with rowing its own gears but actually it's really good as it is it's got a really nice cockpit we're gonna put some kw coils on it because it does it just hits really really high guys this is a pivotal moment in scott o'car career he might leave all the other stuff behind yeah no this is this might he already has for cole first up how much this way no no he didn't even say who he is i'm 185 pounds this is sierra alpha it's 1350 pounds do you think all of us can lift this yeah for sure can we try ask him why are you asking him no i was asking you guys if you wanted a the hell is the sierra alpha some people see uh cross cards online european cars the rally cars we drove those they're full yeah they're rad they're super rad so i drove one of those liked it a lot but it had some shortcomings in it like didn't have a big turbo engine you couldn't put big slicks on it and big downforce so it's the evolution of what is a cross card in europe and it's bigger so it could fit like people in it full-size humans big gulp-sized humans in there i actually even fit in this thing that's great so you said turbo motor turbo turbo high boost can we see that it's right here luckily whoa that's awesome fresh wow so this is a 1300 cc hayabusa motor with a goddamn turbo but i also want to point out that it's attached to a safety f trans the same company that builds the transmission for the unicorn built this which means it's expensive what type of power does this make um this makes between 320th wheels to 450. holy crap what does the stock hay booster setup make in this we run a stock hayabusa in our rx3 the naturally aspirated version that's like 195 at the crank okay and that's 60 those things rip so this has to be really dumb stupid yeah yeah goddamn yeah i feel like this is going to smoke the bat i feel like this would smoke mostly anything this is like really good up to like 80 miles an hour and then the downforce really starts i don't know if you see the angle of attack on that this is vertical yeah what how much how many pounds of downforce does this make we haven't had it cfd but i know that at 120 miles an hour the bottom's on the ground so you know you take the four or five inches of ground clearance and it's enough to compress the springs to touch the ground it's just speed no bumps just at speed you also have a handbrake in there yeah it's a rally car okay so yeah handbrake for when you're you're going forward and you you want to hit the barrier with the rear of the car not the front you also have a full-size wheel i remember the cross car having like a small 10-inch wheels and it was really limited so we started with a 13 we put all of our slicks on up 13 all the good formula car f1 runs a 13 you know and then we do 14 and 15 inch for our rally tire setups so we get all the good utv tires all the good rally tires and they bolt on it's 4x100 so we can steal nads wheels off the honda talking about a lot of different types of racing but i haven't heard you mention drag racing at all have you ever drag raced this thing never drag racing so you have no idea what i'll do in life i just i know i did 120 or like 118 at pike's peak at the picnic ground which is good you know not the fastest car of the day but it's quick because it's light to that speed but then you know it's just an efficiency game playing the downforce so you think you're going to be mopping up some vets today or what 200 miles an hour i think i got that guess we're going to 1500 today what we generally do is from a dig a thousand foot we do that first then from there let's start at 500. you smoke me on 500 the next one's 1500. okay all right we got a race let's go crosscart wins to 500 or vet wins to 1500 it's a draw at a thousand then we think of about 15 more races and we do that until exhaustion and tea yells at us and we just someone does donuts or both and then it ends we're gonna be here way too long it's gonna be nightfall by that time this is over i didn't pack my pilotes so i just don't know if i'm gonna have the speed i need today so i'm gonna have to give it to the sierra car i'm just here for pizza um i want old man scotto to win but at the same time i don't i want to go with uh mr cole cause i like cole slaw philly's gonna turn this man to mush turbus oh and cole is like a professional driver and holds some records and uh and i'm nothing from the guy that directs brian is the guy that now buys corvettes is still running the company is he still my boss then scott is going to win also i want to point out it looks like he's been losing a lot of weight lately so yeah boss go get him that was exactly what i was going to say at the risk of losing my career i'm gonna have to go with coal because the man's a race car
