it's the best thing ever right hello everybody welcome to today's video hi how are you I have feel very very well my name is Amy if you don't already know hi I saw a video on YouTube by a guy called Lucas he used to be Fred I used to watch him back in the Fred days and this is app called cameo where basically you pay a celebrity to film you a video at first you're like what that's so weird why would you do that I watched his videos and they were so so funny and I was like you know what we need a Broadway edition so here I am bringing it to the Broadway YouTube community you're welcome they cost quite a bit of money but I think it will be worth it I'm very very excited to see the messages so yeah all credit goes to Lucas for the idea I'm very excited I'm very very nervous so last week I sent everybody the same message you have to put your name so I said Amy love it like in Sweeney Todd because I know a lot of people like never know how to say my name and a lot of people say love art love at love 8 it's just love it like in Sweeney Todd exactly what I said to each person was hi my name is Amy I'm an actor and a youtuber and I would love to share your message with the people who watch my videos so just something to inspire young performance basically so I left it very very vague because I thought that would be more interesting to see how each person responds so I said the same thing for everybody other than Wesley Taylor go it's like smash for life because I I love smash it's amazing I set them off last Sunday and here we are today I have my laptop and I have my cameos so Wesley Taylor was $10 and he responded within like two hours okay let's watch it well hello there Amy love it like mrs. Lovett we love it yeah you're a theatre youtuber and actress you run an empty YouTube account that's cool yes smash for life hey thanks for reaching out I am glad that I have been able to provide some sort of inspiration I hope my advice to aspiring and T performers that was the request my advice would be yes musical theater is one of the greatest art forms I feel it's it's also one of the hardest to execute well so many elements in collaboration to tell a story but I would emphasize the importance of the storytelling and the acting above anything else above the singing and the dancing the tits and teeth if you will at the end of the day nothing is more important than the story and the respect you give your character so focus on that first and foremost yeah how's that all my love happy were looking for maybe a little bit of encouragement for people who loved theater and I would say just remember that this is all about heart and soul and the thing that motivates you is the thing that's right for you everybody's different we all come from please says we all have different stories to tell and you just have to trust that your story is the story you should be telling you tell it Laura Ausmus you are asking for my musical theater advice and I out there are three things that I always say and one is be yourself no one can be you I feel like we spend our whole careers trying to be what people want us to be and the best thing you can be is your most authentic genuine self you have a unique set of gifts and talents that no one else has so figure out what they are and embrace them the second thing is be patient I feel like we you have your whole life ahead of you if you are not finding like favor in the business right now like know that your time is coming there were a lot of roles I didn't get before I did and so knowing that rejection is part of the business and as long as you love it keep trying keep working hard keep training and keep just saying yes and putting yourself out there and the right door will open at the right time and then finally I just wanted to say that there is like no five-step plan to follow everybody has a very unique and different path as to what made them successful whether it's college whether it's you know and some unique opportunity or a job that really put them on the map I did a TV reality show that got me to Broadway which probably won't happen to you so um following your heart at the end of the day is really I think the best advice you even though it sounds so cliche but plow your own path and do what is right for you I wish you all luck and maybe we'll get to work together someday thanks Amy this is so weird it's so weird it's so weird these are people who like obviously live you know across the state and they're musical theater performers I would say don't take rejection personally know that everybody is different and everybody brings something special to the table don't compare yourself to others because you are unique and individual and work as much as you can be in community theater wherever just work watch the other people you'll learn stuff from the other people you learn what to do what not to do and then um and every time you perform you learn something and honestly would take classes like I took I still take classes from a lot of different people love but there's so many different acting styles and you'll learn something from different people and you'll find somebody who really connect to it and click with us as a teacher um and the same thing for vocal coaches you know people you just have to find the right person who connects to your voice oh my cough oh no what happened do you really that's so sad we love feather we love Carrie Butler oh my god Taryn - in a fly fly away well I mean theater putting yourself online because there are so many people that probably watch your video to think you do watch your videos and just you know it's the opportunities are so much bigger these days with what you can do on the Internet so keep doing that and just trying to make yourself as well-rounded as a person what you already seem like you totally are I'm just keep doing things like self-love go to the gym go to eat whatever cup cake you want just like Bingham said make yourself happy while you're trying to pursue this as a career cuz you know there's lots of ups and downs and just surround yourself with a lot of people who believe in you and just keep doing your videos because you have a fan in me now and um please thank you for reaching out and I hope to maybe meet you
