Buying & Learning About Marbles to Collect and Resell

marble mania [Music] what do you want to know this i'm guessing it is made by vitro this would be ally is the company's mm-hmm um i was just reading about some of those companies this one i'm not sure it's either a big master or an acro uh-huh the seam is kind of messed up on it so this really cool would be unknown i hadn't guessing a master that's a really nice one though mm-hmm and this would fall probably under a vitro it's got some damage yeah those are nice and what do you uh what do you have those marked at price-wise i'd do three bucks on any one of those and this one's ten can i see that one and what are what about this well that's kind of i don't know about 75 worth what do you got 100 i can break it with another [Applause] these get expensive it's like you open it up and it's like diamonds to me sometimes they are yeah absolutely how long have you been collecting these about five years now oh my god these are so beautiful those are german from the 1800s that's what i was reading about yeah down here like this and they get bigger up to over two and a half inches it's an amazing collection wow do you mind yep no sorry that's right oh my god that is beautiful now how much would something like that cost that would be about 10. are you selling these yeah if somebody makes the right offers how much three dollars how's that and how much are these these are the eighteen hundreds but yeah it depends on which ones some of them got some more damage to them than others you know you see that from plate a lot of it has to do with colors and wow like these marbles they call them popeyes because there are two colors with a wispy white and clear popeyes yep now are any of these minerals no okay they're all glass these are all glass thank you thank you and this one in here that's glass too that red one yep that's a really cool one i like that one there's two more similar to that right there oh i like those they're across like beautiful so wow i mean i collect mainly acro that's what a lot of it you got marble kings uh pelletier this one's beautiful too that's a vitro i think one's like kind of like this or like this is like a master what does that mean the company christensen christian and then there's christensen's there's two there's christensen mf christensen and cac christiansen which are two different companies um this is a the cac christensen i think mm-hmm that's pretty um now we're stepping up even more oh my gosh why don't you say it's in there but these are what this colors like this yeah this is what they call superman's [Music] which kind of goes along this but it's got a lot more yellow and blue instead of green and this is an alley or a pelletier this is this is new modern marble it's made like that that is beautiful who made this one it's signed or some to some of them are this was done by a guy out of virginia but i have one that's kind of similar to this but it's got mushrooms in there oh you do yeah it looks like there's mushrooms in it you don't have it here no i don't have it we poured it so much oh wow yeah that would have been uh this this is a popeye also this is what they call a hybrid because it's got green yellow and there's a thin line of red in there it's hard to see but and it's also a uv marble see the red's easiest oh it is yeah oh we forgot we forgot our i know we just bought it to be able to find uranium glass yeah it's hard to see in here yeah yeah totally did you see that oh yeah this one this one lights up really well oh my god in the dark it just glows like crazy that is so cool can i show her that one which one go ahead look at that oh wow [Music] i mean i could probably give you a pretty good deal on that one this one goes to it's this is what they call it oh that's cool a limey acro lime limeade yep because it's green um that is cool this one's amazing too yeah well that's that's a whole nother ballgame that's a cs or a cac guinea what does that mean that means well i shouldn't say it's a cfc it's a knockoff it's a modern marble but it's made to look just like a christian snagit guinea and if this was a real guinea this is about 500 how would you identify if it was you could just tell by that age no you really got it first of all this got amber glass which is really hard to find but there's not much of a seam this one's got a crack in it that's why i got it so cheap the uh there's no seam in it per se it's just this was made by kelly schmidt out of wisconsin so it's just a handmade individual marble yeah yeah i mean all the rest are these mostly machine made or are they these are handmade the rest are machine learned now are these the german 1800s yes do you see that yeah did you just learn that now or you learned that i read it in the book but i i noticed the swirl and i kind of remembered that from the i mean i only read it briefly but i call but there's some more in there yeah look at those look at this one i mean you get some beautiful colors i love that orange and white one though yeah it's like a creamsicle it's basic yeah it's a basic acro i mean what does acro mean acro agate company yeah those are that's really cool dave's appalachian swirl marbles that i made into necklaces that's very he's no longer making these marbles he sold his marble machine to a company new new london gas glass in connecticut really yeah they were making glass marbles like this and they actually threw a lawn chair into the glass so they came through with aluminum streaks in them oh wow really they threw a lawn chair what into the glass right into the molten glass so it just melted into it melted into it made the aluminum street that's in this not those not these no i'm still searching for one of those i have that is very cool that's a good story that big one yeah this this big one and then maybe one of those but maybe in the other corner pocket over there just pull it out yeah this one is really cool oh man that mushroom one though that is so cool we're gonna have to show you on black market marbles oh okay uh her name's marcy oh wow this one i mean just one of the swirls this is the well it's like it's it's like a great this is my screen saver oh my goodness wow we found the right person these are made by uh marvelous schmidt in uh wisconsin and north dakota's not the quarter whatever it is i mean i'm i'm new to collecting i still don't know everything you know 20 percent five years ago marble necklace i mean that's part of my curio cabin wow well i was in the hospital for a while and i just spent the whole time on the internet searching the graduation board good thing to pass the time in particular there's these two you choose it's your yes ma'am this is here and how much are those what other are they mark well it depends on how much you want to spend okay these are very nice ones this one's got a crease across it that'd be real nice and i did 20 on this one thank you thank you if you're interested that's i mean these aren't the cheap ones that's right yeah yeah they're 20 each yeah they're being real nice do you need a little piece of bubble wrap melissa which one do you like i would just get one of those since they're 20. sorry excuse me i'll do you real nice you take one of these and that i'll give it to you for 30. sold wow which one would you pick i like the colors in this you know it's got spots in it or whatever but can i okay which one would you pick do you mind if i handle them hmm i don't know this is the one you showed me before and i know i don't know this one kind of sucks it's gorgeous that spiral like that spiral inside is kind of it's a nice even spiral this one's kind of off-centered i mean this was i would probably go with this one but you know let's do this one and this one thank you and how much would this one be over yeah i really like that one and we'll get this we'll get this and you said that's seven yeah for the whole point that's the best you could do maybe come back another time why don't we start yeah why don't we start learning on the like yeah those that's basically all a bunch of west virginia swirls nothing really don't learn that much about it no they're it seems like they're like companies this is a good start they're hard to identify companies with the western okay all right did you want to get this or i think so and what god i forgot i wanted to buy a uranium one oh darn that's i forgot next time um anyway there weren't as many vintage and antique um setups this year it seemed like there were you know quite a few more modern new things all right we just saw a sign for a porch sale and pulled into this it's like amazing wow look at that house let's go why not looks very interesting look at this what a cool old house
