Business Analyst Video Interview

well finding the needs for the company where you're working and and translating those needs into actual business solutions there is always challenges doing that interpretating the needs and translating them into an actual solution but it's really fun well interacting with people reading you know behind the lines of what's really the issue that they're trying to solve for and find in the best way and you know getting the resources and if they are funds to for the solution to implement it so that that's a lot of fun too well I think the best way to describe a day and a business analyst life is hectic but it all depends on how organized are you as a person how do you prioritize the demands of the day because at the end of the day you have to find a balance and that they only have so many hours so you have to really be focused on what are the tasks that need to be done by the end of the day and prioritize them there is no boredom doing the the business analyst role as long as you learn the industry where were you're working the the company needs and what are the the goals of the company the products that they offer you know the the the unique aspect of that this career is that everything changes so much and so quickly that there's always something new to learn and to do you know we're always looking and fighting you know for resources and and resources is not only the funds the money or the equipment is also the Human Resources and depending on the size of the project that we're focusing we need to have really qualified human resources and some of the challenging situations is when unfortunately there has to be like current of resources and a scrambling time you have to find you know the right person with the right skills to work on the project and to find how to get to the finish line with what you have so that can be very challenging and always you know looking to to stay positive and to keep the focus on the goal well resources could be a pen that you need to or a computer where you need to enter a system or whatever changes you're doing but resources are also the people that do the job so we have different kind of resources we have the human resources technical resources maintenance resources equipment all of those are considered resources well a lot of opportunities actually as long as you learn and always are in the learning mode you will find the opportunities working in very high priority projects for the company getting visibility so those are having some of the opportunities that have held my career as well well one of the benefits that we look into the business is how to increase revenue I think that that's the bottom line right every business is looking to make money and how to how to implement what the product they're offering or the project that they're trying to implement and how it's going to impact the bottom line and it's not only how to gain the the revenue but also sometimes it's you know how to train the people so they can do the their jobs more effective performance related and how you know how is that going to impact the the clients at the end of the day how they buy the products and so on and so forth so the bottom line is increase in revenue but it has different layers of how you are going to achieve that there are several skills but one of the most important is the communication skills written and oral communications are critical as well as the consulting skills we need to know how to get the information out of the head of the people that are experiencing the issues or the needs also analytical skills are needed to translate those needs into the solution so there are different kinds of soft skills also technical skills are helpful but the soft skills what are considered you know the communications consulting relationships those are skills that are going to be transitioning to any kind of industry you know the business analyst role can change depending on the industry so my recommendation will be is particularly for somebody who is just graduating to learn the business what this particular business offered to the public is is it technology is it Internet services is it marketing so really get to know that what the business do to help them find a mentor within the company within the place where they're working and within that company find out what area within business they would like to focus will be marketing will be communications will it be product development would it be I don't know business analyst or project management so finding a mentor is critical and then on their own getting to know the business get into specifics of the business you know in this role I have found that I have had the opportunity of working with Google global partners so getting to know people and working on same projects from different parts of the world getting to you know getting to know or dealing with time zone differences which may be up to 1213 hours are cultural differences how do they do business elsewhere because at the end of the day globalization is so real and we need to learn how to play on the same sandbox if you will so that has been one of my best experiences
