bushcraft projects with auger

hi folks Jim Womble back at you again today today I'm doing some bushcrafting at home uh it's a little early for me to go out and camp and do that so I decided to do some things at home and and uh kind of get my routine down I purchased a auger drill this is a little drill they come up with that you can bore holes in wood and you you take a little piece of wood like this it's very light you can throw it in your pack and you can drill and Peg uh when you're in the woods you don't have nails you don't have all that luxury of being at home so you have to do with what you've got so let me show you what this thing does now this is sawhas that I'm I'm building and as you can see I took a piece of hardwood and put it in the middle piece of Popple cut it down and place it in the center for a workspace you know so I can use this for other things but let me show you what the drill does okay so basically we're we're going to put some uprights along here one on each side to hold the log that I put in here and I can cut so this drill you just Crank it like this okay and now I've already got this whole drill but I just want to show you how it works and then when you take this off you put that this is the other end you put that right there on the end and bang it with a hammer and that'll go down in to here and split this outside wood and you'll wind up with something like this see so that'll that that this actually makes this pot and then you're all ready to go just like that like I said folks there's tons of things that you can make I threw together a little stool here went up in the back woods and got some old dead Fallen trees and and brought them home and peel the Box off them you want to take the back off them because if you don't they hold moisture and rot so if you any project that you do strip the bark off it and it'll last forever but this is a nice little good little heavy heavy duty I mean I could do a project on this if I could get another stool over here and use it for a table uh all kinds of things but hang with me so I'm not going to finish all four of these I'm just going to give you the idea what's going on and here's here's the the guide and you just pound it down in and that's what that sound right there is what we're looking for but anyway you're not taking that out today not without destroying it but anyway thanks for listening I hope this interests you maybe I can show you some other things I'm going to build later on but uh my name is Jim Womble YouTube subscribe hit that notification Bell give me a thumbs up and uh we'll continue on it's kind of fun have a great day love you all
