So in other words deny elements of your existence and don't turn it into empowerment and valuable lessons so that mistakes in the future don't get repeated?

Where do you think your past goes when you leave it behind? It is still in your head as thoughts that then gets buried deep into your sub conscious. Cool now it is buried but you interpreted the event to be stressful etc so it will always remain as that...

Bang what do you reckon will happen when you go and train at the gym 6 days a week, buy a mansion, run a business, fuck a model etc...Have 4 kids? You will still be deep down inside stressed as that past never got resolved then you are left unsatisfied and in denial and you pass on this pain onto others as well without knowing it..

You sort of just went I will leave it behind as opposed to owning it and going back to fix it up as that then would show you to be a responsible person and it would mean you care about YOU despite how emotional you need to get about it. Plus it is only temporary !!!

Any how this is how I believe you get over addiction once and for all !!! You own up to the initial repetitive behaviour and why you were doing it....But maybe you don't need to tell everyone why you began in the first place. Just to yourself.
