like a bird on a tree i'm just sitting here i got time for the place get this bad boy put into place and fire it up it's the burn off and it's coming up all right everybody look and this is uh per the manual per pit boss okay so the first step in uh before you actually prime the pit before you actually put pellets in the pit you want to make sure all the electrical components are going to work properly and that's what we're doing now and basically what we've done if we've removed all the innards and left the fire pot exposed so we could feel the uh that the heat goes on on the fire pot so we're going to plug it in we're to turn it on and we're going to wait for that all righty look so the first thing is it is plugged in now we're going to power the unit up the power is powered up we can hear the uh blower already going and basically what we're going to do now is we're going to wait for a little heat to come out of the fire pot and right off the bat i have to say i'm digging this control panel i had the kc combo which was uh you know one of the top-of-the-line pit bosses in the control panel man while it looked good in the direct sunlight you just couldn't see it with this control pad right here clear as day i mean it's almost like a tv screen so i'm definitely impressed with that and now we are waiting for about a minute or so per manual for a little smell of uh fire right the igniter igniting with that oil on there also some heat and i am getting a uh a little bit of a smell but no heat yet so we'll give it another 10 20 30 seconds and i see the uh on the control panel the fan and the igniter is lit up and i also can see the auger returning and definitely a smell in the air a little bit warm let me get you inside sure if you could see the auger turning and i'm starting to get a little heat so i'm going to shut the pit down and continue to the next step [Music] all right so she is cycling down as she's supposed to be now what i'm going to do is check the hopper make sure there's no foreign objects inside the hopper and also fill it up with some pellets and to fire this bad boy up alrighty so look we have our pellets of all uh pelleted in the hopper next what we're gonna do now we're gonna prime it up this is a start up this is a burn off so basically what you wanna do is power the unit on hit the prime button on the control panel and wait till you see some pellets falling in the pot once pellets start to fall in the pot you can release the prime button so and just continue to hold the prime function until the first few pellets fall through [Music] i love girls and i see the fan auger and igniter lidden up on this board or lit up on this board i should say i mean i'm pretty much ice now the wind was cooking before and it's probably only about 40 degrees out which doesn't seem too cold but when that wind is uh it's cranking it uh it can get to you [Music] i believe i hear some pellets hitting the bottom [Music] we got a few dropping in all right all right so look at this point again as per instructions from pit boss we have verified pellets falling into the fire pot whatever and what they want you to do now is to power the unit off and put the grill parts back in the grill and then then it's burn off time oh yeah [Music] all righty look here we go with the burn off now so we are going to power the unit on we're going to jack up the temp to fahrenheit i'm going to run it for about 30 to 40 minutes now remember anytime you uh power the unit on get those pellets rolling get that beginning of smoke rolling you definitely want the hopper lid open if you close it a you'll trap a lot of bad smoke in there and b you can get some combustion and a little uh i don't want to say explosion but just leave it open so for the the change the temperature you want to uh press the uh the uh the knob in and that'll activate to uh go up or down on the attempt so you go one press in and we're going to take this up to 350 fahrenheit [Music] and at this point i'm not going to play around with the app we'll do that for another day all right everyone looked at is it she got to 350 fahrenheit took her about a half hour but she did get there so i'm pleased with that i know i've been reading a couple things online so we'll just kind of see how this goes on this and that's it i am psyched for my first cook don't forget to hit that
