in this video i will go off scroll  for modeling no 3d printed parts or   3d decals no photo edge parts no aftermarket  parts made from resin or other materials   one hundred percent old-school with whatever  material available let's go old school   hi this is the first tamiya kit i bought i  bought it in 2002 and i still keep its sparks   no i'm not gonna open the box these sprues are  from the new kit i just wanted to show you this   old friend i built almost 10 of these kits so i  have experience and i'm starting to build with   these steps instead of the cockpit this blade  is my new favorite number 12. this is one of   the flaps and it was moulded for a different  variant of f4u this slot needs to be filled i'm going to use the tamiya  epoxy patty to fill in the gap this patty takes about a day to dry  so it's necessary to do this first   the second step is cleaning injection  pin marks in the wheel wells no need fancy tools for that  a number 15 blade is enough another problem is the pin  marks on the landing gear struts   i'm going to use tamiya white putty to fixing them after a few hours it can be sanded   you have to cut this slot for the antenna but  that depends on which aircraft you are building   check your references before that even if they  are in the same variant some corsairs may not have   this antenna i always glue all the parts that make  up the fuselage halves first like this part this   is probably the most forgotten piece when building  this kit not this time mate okay let's get started   i'm not going to follow the  instructions i will build it my way   so i'm starting with landing gear wheel wells  i'm going to add some wire and pipe details   there are some hydraulic part  details molded in the wheel wells   i'm adding the missing pipe details with lead wire for adding more details i'm wrapping  self-adhesive foil on a thicker wire and i'm placing it oops i forgot to fix this to its place  before glue the side wall no big deal i'm applying the white primer to see the  result let's continue with the landing gears i'm going to add some pipe wire and  spring details on the landing gear struts this part comes with the kit it's  something about ring folding mechanism   and i will not use it for that so i  can cut the tip and use it on the pipe i'm bending the pipe with a  toothpick and fix it to its place let's make some springs and here's the result this is not accurate or in scale but some  details like this on the tires would be nice let's add the bad details for this i use 3m  blue masking tape slice it in various sizes   and lead wire first things first  i'm taking the measurements to cut i'm adding buckle detail with lead wire it's a quite soft metal i can  easily flatten it like this and the first piece of the belt is ready let's add some whole details i'm adding the second piece of belt i'm adding buckle details with  lead wire and i'm shaping it and this is the last piece of the belt let's do the same for another belt this is another antenna for the different  variant of corsair which comes with the kit   i will use it for adding details to the cockpit finally i can start to paint the primer first i'm applying a dark weathering wash to  the parts before i apply the main color   this is kind of fresh shading  which used by figure painters after it has dried i can apply the main color i painted error piece as much  as possible with the airbrush now i'm painting the  remaining details with a brush i can apply the gloss varnish now i applied another weathering wash and  the flat vanish layer to the old parts well this is not weathering i've seen  this technique before in builds of   juan manuel v alba even if there is less detail  in the cockpit when you highlight the edges of   the details the cockpit looks more busy and  more detailed it's very effective and easy it's like a magic isn't it finally i'm painting the  metal parts and complete this after a fifth assembly steps the  cockpit is ready to glue its place i'm fixing together the fuselage house let's add some details to the engine i'm adding  spark plug details with the lead wire simply i added two cables per cylinder and i cut them out and glue them in place i'm painting it with black  after painted the white primer highlighting the details with  dry brushing chrome silver paint finally i'm painting the  remaining details with a brush now it's time to add call flaps since it's a  barely visible detail i will do something roughly and here are the results so far in old pictures i see dropped elevator on all  parked corsairs let's do it first i'm cutting the   horizontal stabilizer and elevator part after that  i need to reshape the stabilizer with this tool and i'm cutting the elevator trim now i'm adding additional head  to the elevators with epoxy putty i'm scraping the arm details because i  will add the new one with copper wire now i am opening a slot to the elevator trim  for the arm i'm crushing by pressing the tip   off the copper wire with a cutting nipper that  will be the intersection point of the arms let's fix the arms in place the elevator trim first the elevator and finally the arms since i cut the elevator let's cut the rudder too i added this detail without shaking the references  it's not accurate but i can live with that   here is the result one more minor detail before start to paint   i am going to remove the hook and add  additional details to the rear wheel struts let's get back to the standard assembly steps there is some sanding work  in this part i protected   the rivet and panel details with masking tape this antenna is not supposed to be on  the corsair i built let's remove it i would like to remind you that  this kit was released in 1998   and its fitting is better than the most new kits finally i can start paint the primer first i'm planning some things about the  weathering with a mix of two pictures this picture will be referenced for the weathering  on the underwing and front of the aircraft   and this for the rudder and tail ok let's start with the  easiest part the underwings i'm painting it with the main color and   then i'm applying post-shaped  weathering with white as usual after a few hours this is the result now the hardest part the upper colors painting i painted the model in parts with  different colors and tones not completely   in one go some modelers call this as mapping  technique i'm starting with the light tones   i repeat this until it's like that i'm painting completely random areas  to create an irregular paint effect i'm doing the same for the darkest color finally the model is ready for  the decals gloss varnish first the sky decal set is little bit  overscaled but i have no other option i am applying to weathering wash  after applying another gloss coat i'm wiping the excess wash with turpentine i painted the body and the calling parts  separately because i aimed color difference   between the calling and the fuselage like in the  picture now i am gluing the calling section now   i am applying the flat varnish since this is the most suitable shooting  angle i took all the shoots in this area   i actually applied everything  you see here to the entire model foreign thanks to tamiya for the new  two millimeter masking tape now i'm applying the effect seen in the picture and this effect i'm painting the non-slip walkways metal chipping effect it's important  that the tip of the pen should be sharp now i can glue two landing gears and flaps i'm painting the navigation lights let's add the antenna wire detail i'm  drilling a hole on the rudder first an old indian trick heating  and stretching a cotton bud now i have a plastic pipe i will use this fishing line for the wire foreign foreign well thanks for watching this episode if  you like the video please like and share   subscribe my channel if you haven't yet  also you can support my
