eventually the small labs in the back of car magazines you'll find they're stuffed full of ads for supercars which cost less than what two year old Mondeo now this sounds incredibly tempting but what occurs like this gonna be like to live with so to find out we were each given ten thousand pounds and told to go out and buy a supercar that's mid-engined and Italian yes and then we were told to take whatever we bought to Bristol where we would be set a series of challenges thank you through probably see where this is going is what happened I was the first to arrive I've just bought a Ferrari for ten grand it's a 1979 308 gt4 yellow it's got engine in the middle it's going with it right wait for the others see what they've got jeremy was next to roll up MARAC MARAC yep right possibly the prettiest supercar ever made 7,000 pounds three grand less than its decent to Ferrari what Richard had bought was never originally called a Ferrari it was so slow and wet it was actually called a dino I bought my said judge it's from Asda you've got a George there will be six huh yeah yeah it's brilliant engine in this honestly guy that yeah the guy I bought it from just spent ten thousand quid rebuilding that engine solve a whole car for seven shows how the rest nights worth so watch the headlamps they work brilliantly ready they go the headlights off you may have noticed we're waffling a bit we assumed a Lamborghini Urraco but James cut to the chase okay it's on a lorry it's an electrical problem James decided the best form of defence was you know I can look at this and with my train I can tell you immediately that that is a pub you bought that so what did the production team got in store for us your 70s supercar mission for today is to drive from Bristol to Spearmint Rhino in Slough that's a lap-dancing Club yep oh you do know that's what these cars are about okay fair enough you may not use the m4 itself so we've got to go along the m4 corridor on the wiggly graphs window Nate's turn your secret you be made in the head as usual points would be lost for unforeseen stoppages and naturally there would be a series of challenges along the way what I love about this particular meringue is that it is the SS one of us one of the later one very rare I only made 652 now this is kind of heavy may road traffic to town stop-start stuff James has got his alternator going yet he add some solve right so the battery is discharging the oil temperature is very high the oil pressure is very low the engine temperature is off the end of the scale I'm running out of petrol but the clock is correct like we're at a bristle no mechanical maladies to avoid smoke coming out of the back of that thing hey no it's not a kit car it's a Lamborghini Philistine speaker optimistic tractor earlier on but was doing nevermind could be worse yes James had run out of electricity again I just can't believe somebody's put a Ferrari badge on that what it is it was named after Enzo Ferraris tragically dead son and built to fit all men Ferrari what a marvelous day sunshine evening maserati to drive you to the scope for laughing at Hammond for buying the wrong car and James for buying one that doesn't work actually I got my car working and what a car cause in his day the Urraco is one of the fastest and most exciting four-seater cars you could buy hundred and forty two miles an hour naught to 60 in about six nine seconds I was ever such a long time ago though meanwhile Jeremy and I were nearing our first challenge races you've got to be kidding racetrack that's when we see them as arathi come I'm feeling confident so why was Hammond nervous there's a subframe which I'm afraid away holds the energy in just made rust still could be worse yes James had broken down again
