Brush Cutting with the DR PRO XL 30 vs KUBOTA B2601 WITH WOODS BRUSHBULL BB48.30

hey everyone it's matt from sierra tree and brush control we're going to do a little side by side comparison today the first unit that we're going to use brush hog and some high grass is the dr pro xl30 had this unit for a couple years works great it's a 20 horsepower professional series and it does a great job through the high grass it goes a little slow but usually cuts it all down first pass so this will be the first unit we're gonna try in the comparison all right second unit up for today's comparison we're gonna run a kubota uh we've just put this one together a b2601 we don't have a front end loader on it so we have some weights pick this unit up from bortnix up in conneaut ohio shout out to anthony for helping us out it's a good unit we have a belly deck for it but what we did for this one for some brush control is we recently added the woods brush bowl as you can see here the bb 4830 this is a heavy duty 48 inch brush hog and we're going to compare the two again in this high grass we'll show you in a minute uh you have to go slow so we're going to try to take them at the same pace a little wider cut obviously a little less exercise because you're sitting in the saddle here should be fun all right so here's what we're going to be doing the comparison with this is a field i haven't got cut this year you can see most of its waist high very thick some of the weeds are almost six feet tall so as i traipse around here this is pretty good pretty heavy duty stuff it's definitely going to put both of these units to a test let's see how they do okay well earring protection in eye protection on about to start it up we're going to take a pass down and pass back with the dr so [Applause] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay so the thing i love about the dr is it's a beast if you heard that this is thick you can see engine didn't bog down at all mulches everything real nice and doesn't leave too many if any stragglers also the fact that the unit cutting is in front of you kind of keeps you out of the the pricker bushes from from hitting you you can kind of work it forward and back but uh nothing but good things to say about the dr all right so we're gonna give the uh 2601 a shot of course this is a 26 horsepower kubota diesel engine uh we're gonna start it uh one of the things when you do start the brush hog if you haven't before it's a little bit violent when it gets going we're going to bring it up to speed you have to run this at 540 rpms which is marked on the tachometer for you you can kind of see it there it's uh close to 3 000 um rpms and i'll get it up to speed i'll go down turn around and come back let's see how she does [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] okay so just ran the four foot brush hog now i do have that deck set a little bit higher uh use it in areas where there might be some debris on the ground and i'm a lot you know obviously want to set a little higher so i'm not hitting stones and and stumps and so on and so forth but overall pretty good job again the kubota was in low gear and i had the dr in first gear so i mean they're going about the same speed obviously you're walking behind versus sitting but still i have to say if it's my personal i'm going to give the win on the cut to the dr however you can't go wrong with the brush hog so that's my thoughts on the two hope you enjoyed the video and again lastly i want to shout out to bortnicks out of conneaut ohio the dr we're taking care of there with first quality power out of middle field ohio and if you have any brush cutting needs sierra tree and brush control from chagrin falls ohio we have these equipment we have more equipment we can handle any brush any tree job give us a call check us out on facebook and instagram
