planet for a long time though the title fight eluded him not anymore here he is the number one heavyweight contender finally making this walk and cracking the smile he's waited a long time for this he's not expecting a 25-minute war he believes he has the power and the skills to get this thing done quickly i guess we'll find out [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] all right so here he is making his way to the octagon for another heavyweight title defense this has been the baddest man on the planet now for several years and he has taken on all-comers more often than not leaving them twitching on the canvas knockout power for days the question is tonight with a challenge like this can he walk out the way he came in as the undisputed ufc heavyweight champion of the world or till the date for this our main event of the evening four years apart with big differences in height and reach all right now for the particulars here is bruce buffer ladies and gentlemen this is the main event of the evening and when the action begins our referee in charge dan mergliatta now this is the moment ufc fans around the world have been waiting for live from the sold out madison square garden arena in new york city usc heavyweight championship of the world introducing first fighting out of the blue corner this man is a boxer making his professional debut here tonight he stands six feet six inches tall william at 265 pounds fighting out of olympia washington presenting the challenger the giants and now introducing the champion fighting out of the red corner this man is a mixed martial artist making his professional debut here tonight he stands five feet seven inches tall weighing in at 145 pounds fighting out los angeles california ladies and gentlemen presenting the reigning defending usc heavyweight champion of the world ruth the dragon [Applause] [Music] all right this is for the ufc championship i want you to blame my commands at all times protect yourself at all times on a nice clean safe fight touch gloves back to corners come out for you you ready all right so here we go with the start of this fight i'm anxious man what a matchup it is and it's going to be interesting and it's going to be interesting to see who has the upper hand it's going to be difficult to find out how this plays out right striker versus well-rounded fighter who's gonna be the one that's gonna control where this fight takes place well he's got the reach advantage he might as well use it nice job there to find a home for that man he's timing his shots nicely like tom brady out there he hasn't missed the target i mean you insist on bringing in tom brady stop it nice punch there by lee well perhaps a sign of things to come as he lands a kick there nice kick landed by this gun oh and he counters effectively with a jab upstairs there dc i know you don't often have the reach advantage but nice to see him making good use of it in this matchup [Applause] lee's kick is blocked keep your hands up nice head kick [Applause] oh nice connection by him there with the right hand the right hand is the dominant hand and you can see how well he throws it man striking classes in session beautiful punch there great job landing what a damaging punch oh nice counter punch there as he continues can't [Applause] oh nice slip there to avoid the punch by league look at him trying to shut the liver down [Applause] throwing that jab yet again out of range how about that chin [Applause] try to establish that jab [Applause] big land over top how's he gonna follow this one oh spinning back fist he didn't telegraph that one at all and they separate [Applause] nice job landing the double jab there dc i mean you are definitely pressing out but oh and he escapes up to his feet very nice it's very tricky when he throws that body kick straight punch lance lee's punch to the body that one is blocked a little single collar tie there just missing on the high kick there look how he turns his hip into that leg kick well it's one thing to have length that's another thing to use it and he does it as well as anyone nice kick there by lead [Applause] well you saw the tail the tape he has a reach advantage and made good use of it there with that punch looking to set up that head kick again this one does not find the hole oh head kick landing spinning backfist [Applause] now we get back lee going with the kick to the body but unable to find the range right hand upstairs trying to find a home for that right hand oh that straight punch is going to be a real problem if they can't make the adjustment a real problem he needs to move his head defensively if he's going to avoid getting hit so many times in the face great punch [Applause] lee going for the leg kick nothing doing there round one winding down here oh man head kick land five minutes in the all right books get you some highlights from that previous round dc i don't care how strong your core is you can't take too many more of those body kits john you can't train for that i mean you cannot train to take those types of body kicks they start to really wear at your gas tank and then you start to make mistakes when you take that many body kits you start making mistakes and before you know it the fight's over better than that come on now let's shake it out get back in there let's get back to the game plan all right so after he landed a high number of kicks in the previous round we'll see if he can keep it going here as our next round gets underway he should stay cool he's so educated with his legs his feet that he's giving his opponent a very difficult time trying to anticipate what's coming his way well place kick there by the lead [Applause] look at him drive his chin wind it up on the right there to no avail [Music] nice defense there huge block all right so he's landed some good shots you hate to be overly critical but nothing really in terms of combinations tonight well the jab has been looking great how about jab jab right hand right because eventually you're gonna have to put something on your opponent that's going to really make him pause i believe the jab has been working so well if he drops a big right hand after it he may be able to finish his fights so there it is taller fighter landing a knee with the body [Applause] good speed [Applause] tried to go to the body but unable to connect the fight thus far how's his opponent still standing i mean i have no idea this fight is supposed to be over and it might not be over now but it's going to be over very soon oh nice straight punch there it must be nice to have a reach advantage like this dc and he landed the right hand there so he's really starting to put together some significant body shots here these are going to take their toll as this fight goes on great upper body movement defensively slips another strike there and offensively he hasn't been a wool beater but defensively he's constructed and that has to cause frustration for the opponent not being able to hit a guy that you want to really put away but that's a testament to the hedge fund and the activity and the awareness of this fighter defensively beautiful kick [Applause] oh he lands the hook there dc that was one of his more significant lands of the fight he can land that strike over and over again body kick now by lee [Applause] oh he lands another strike to the body really starting to connect on a lot of shots to the midsection and these will take their toll as this fight goes into the latter rounds [Applause] and he's looking for that left hand just missed big punch just over two minutes now to go in round [Applause] two [Applause] all right so you got to be careful playing on the ground with this guy you don't want to mess around for too long [Applause] all right bottom fighter here maybe looking to hip escape dc oh big combination of ground and pound strikes here dc this could be the beginning of the end i mean you've got to be very careful when you take these big ground and pound strikes you need a control posture on the bottom and if you're the top guy the guy that's going to finish continue to gain posture and rain down big strikes on your opponent and he continues to work the body here there's no kill on that leg nice punch there by lead liver what a great way of mixing up his attack he didn't stay the course he mixed it up he went high when his appearance he was going low and now he's got him hurt very badly [Applause] going to the body now with the kick that one is blocked though by lee he's throwing every part of himself into these big leg kicks so a much different approach for him here in this second round he was a little bit tentative in round one a little bit of a feeling out process now he has cooled down his rhythm found the range we'll see if he can continue with more activity here in round two [Applause] oh blocks that kick to the body nicely done nice right hand upstairs 10 minutes in the books all right let's take a look back at some of the replays dc and if you like the kicking game that was the round for you yeah i mean he used his kicks beautifully he managed distance managed space and eventually those kicks started to really take an effect on his opponent and slow him down he has to stay the course next round you've got the better you with the striker you need to start using your boxing better where are your combinations don't just throw one all right dc buckle up here we go with our next round high number of kicks in the previous round and he'll look to keep it going he'll look to keep winning the fight right there i'm not sure how many more of these his opponent can take massive shot that he lands three jobs well just as he did the previous round continuing to land a high number of strikes here and he hasn't really showed any signs of slowing down scary scary proposition for the opponent oh man snapped his head back with the uppercut there you can see him throw his entire body into that uppercut [Applause] there's no tail on that leg kick look at the whip action that comes from the next [Applause] well he's been good tonight but he missed without one lands the right hand [Applause] let's see if his opponent can survive i cannot believe just over three minutes to go you can really limit the mobility of your opponent with those leg kicks big kick lands that was lightning fast that right here [Applause] tried to set up the straight left but he missed [Applause] yes they heard him in the last round same exact one [Applause] the punch is blocked [Applause] well that left hand has been there at times not on that attempt oh he's got it going now nice connection there dc another punch landing [Applause] how good is that right hand visibly limping here switching stances here lee gets caught with that punch well it's all pace and pressure down the stretch he is really lighting them up now [Applause] oh and that kick is blocked all right single caller tie now pretty good job staying patient as he lands the counter strike there strong work by lee [Applause] and his opponent seems to be on his way out of the fight oh he might be out continues to mix it up going to the head mixing in some body shots back to the leg kick now that one's no good nice punch there by lead over and over oh a huge block there another shot lands upstairs we look at the commitment to kick it in this fight all right that's three rounds in the bush we are headed to the championship well i'm not sure the extent to which he has recovered but we do see the end of the round dc talk us through the reflex well he's a tough guy he's going to make it to the stool he's going to survive unless you put him completely out of there unfortunately he's in there with a guy that does have that ability [Applause] all right so here we go you can feel the tension fourth round is underway you'll see who has the upper hand you feel it inside of the arena the fighters feel it inside of the octagon it's palpable the energy is crazy because you understand that in the next 10 minutes someone's gonna get a belt strapped around their waist it's amazing [Applause] punches in bunches and he hasn't really shown any signs of slowing down here tonight i'm not sure how much more his opponent can take such a fast leg kick lunges forward with a left there [Applause] again trying to set up that counter kick but unable to find the target [Applause] oh man jumped out of your seat a little bit after that oh i did because i have times where i've been kicked like that and i'm gonna tell you one thing it does not feel good yeah he's got two he's gotta start checking kicks beautiful body kick [Applause] he's been working hard defensively kick block there [Applause] he tags him with the straight beautifully placed there by league trying to establish that jab once again able to land there with the straight left [Applause] back to his patented kicks here but just out of range ah that jab hurt him [Applause] unbelievable elbow lands big leg his head's still attached to his body the last time i found an uppercut like that it was over him versus in donuts and you know they still haven't found alistar ogree's head [Applause] big liver kick lands under the elbow oh he lands a straight punch there dc we'll see if he can follow it up now he has been going to strike over and over again look how crisp and straight he is man is he timing his shots well here tonight dc it's hard to recall him being this accurate in the past i mean he is so sharp and not only is he accurate he's also keeping very busy oh an obvious limp there his leg hurting for certain all right two minutes now to go in the [Applause] rest [Applause] and again when you're using this length as effectively as he is here tonight we might get a finish here in the not too distant future now goes in and secures the takedown back to the feet now well the right hand has been there at times not that time oh some of the best kicks you'll see right there live and in color he has a commitment to kicking tonight and it shows just a slip there liver kick if you take those kicks it's going to shut your body off [Applause] almost in range with the straight left but that's a mess lee gets hit by that kick to the body and they separate big kick landing block there [Applause] look at the angle of that nice body yeah there's another one for the highlight reel and that's probably as good a knockout as he's had in the ufc just a perfect shot to end the fight crowd absolutely loving it crush land to close out his opponent i'm not even sure the other fighter saw it coming so a big knockout for him here tonight on the biggest of stages [Applause] so the celebration is on for the ufc heavyweight champion of the world the baddest man on the planet and your winner yes by knockout here tonight ladies and gentlemen referee dan berliantos called the stop to this contest at four minutes 45 seconds of round number four declaring the winner by knockout and still the undisputed [Applause] ufc [Applause] and still the baddest man on the planet i know you haven't retired yet but uh i don't necessarily want to see you share the octagon with that monster i mean this dude is a savage there is prestige and being called the ufc heavyweight champion he remains
