[Music] holy crap what's up like right Nation hey what's going on guys all right so today we're doing something a little special which it won't sound special at first but bear with us today we're going to do a comparison between our Bronco Raptor and a 392 Jeep Wrangler kind of we'll get into that in a second and I know a lot of Jeep versus Bronco videos have made we've personally made quite a few of them none have been done like this not like this today we are actually going to do a comparison that is relevant to 90 of the population we're actually going to do one that makes sense and is important to all of you guys who are looking to pick between a raptor or a 392. yeah I mean a lot of it will make sense once we get into it and why I have a tape measure and why this is going to be so important but we need to we need to like go over a few things first because we know that it has a lift in 40s now for those of you that are new to the channel this is the demon child which Once Upon a Time was a brand new 392 Rubicon for about 200 miles that's because we took it straight to America's Most Wanted where they did a complete custom one-off frame rebuild starting with an 840 horsepower demon engine one ton axles 40 inch tires bead locks some custom interior suspension there is a lot done to this it is far about as far from a stock 392 as you can get and that's relevant for some of the comparisons we're going to make today but for some of them it's not and we'll get into those as we go from topic to topic so people ask us these questions all the time and we haven't really answered them and I haven't been able to find the answer to them online so nobody's really covered at least not all in one video yeah about what like nobody's really covered about what we're about to do so first and foremost this is a 392 Rubicon fully loaded leather seats leather door panels everything the Bronco raptor is also 100 fully loaded first and foremost we don't have power seats here so what I want to show you is if we crank this baby all the way down all right that's all the way down that's all the way back now short people don't have an issue it goes way forward and it goes way up and you can see just fine tall people in the Jeep however have had an issue now let me show you something for a second now keep in mind these are factory seats they just have cat skin covers on them so there's no nothing's changed here as far as Dimensions go I'm five six five seven in the morning that is if you're a this is the seat is all the way down and all the way back so if you're six foot six one six two you've either got to like kind of try to sit up in here or you've really gotta get it get it back here so that's pretty crazy that's pretty crazy so let's let me let me measure that really quick and then we'll go measure the Bronco Raptor so this is just shy of 37. let's call it 37 we could be nice right up against that because again all the way back all the way down all the way down so you're just shy of 37 inches now the Bronco raptor top of the line it's got power seats and I'm going to tell you it's pretty nice if you're gonna Forge you're gonna Forge through water and get water all the way up to the seats here to get that maybe take a Jeep I guess I I don't know but that okay so you just saw me go all the way down there and move it all the way back holy crap that goes way back well okay so we'll measure from seat to pedals in a bit now keep in mind the Raptor actually has a cross brace up here where the non-raptor version does not have a cross brace so you are losing a little bit of Headroom but let's see let's see what was the Jeep the jeep was just shy of 37 yeah to the brace this is right oh this is right at 40. yep so you get three inches more Headroom in here and if you didn't have the cross brace or look if you're tall enough you sit back past the cross brace you get you get 44 inches if you want to put your head back behind the cross brace yep and if you go in front of it you're right at 43 if you were to sit right in front of it now this does sit further back and the only reason I measured back behind it is because this is how much room with the seat almost all the way up yeah so I mean if you were to wear a helmet off-road or something like that like you literally do have you can see all the way up is almost I feel like about the same space as the seat all the way down in the Jeep isn't that crazy look at that the Headroom in this is absolutely insane this is this is all the way up right now and then of course if we go down [Music] now while we're in the Raptor seat all the way down and back I have a feeling that this butt section is going to be longer this is 20 and a half so 20 and a half so this is going to be your butt and then kind of like the back of your leg support which kind of gives you more support I think it's going to be deeper than the Jeep but we'll see then if we go brake pedal to the seat we're at 22 and a half now the 392 is all the way back it's already all the way down measure the butt here and that's about 19 and a half well yeah growing off of like where it supports the back of the leg so it's a little bit there and then brake pedal to the end of the seat 21 inches now if you haven't figured it out yet [Music] it's basically cleaning the cockpit like how much room do you have in your cockpit we've got Headroom we've kind of got leg room we need this room which luckily for me I don't need very much but for other people not necessarily Kevin but other people you might need a little bit more I've got some shoulders so we're gonna go right from the armrest on the door to the armrest and the center console you're right at about 22 and a quarter yeah 22 and a quarter and then if Kevin will shut his door you want to roll down the window I can pass you the tape measure the armrest armrest armrest armrest to arm rest Focus there we go 51.5 how do you think the Raptor is going to be a lot more it's a g riding right that's a lot more it's a lot more room all right all right well if you're going well if you want to go to the we'll just we're going to go to the edge like right here so if you look down you're right about 23 and three quarters that's maybe a smidge and more yeah if you're looking straight down if you're looking yeah there's a rollout if you're looking straight down at it you're like 23 three quarters maybe 24 inches instead of what 21 and a half yeah so you're quite a bit quite a bit more and then across two across to the other side armrest to arm rest 55. for the record I don't think this was ever really a question as to which vehicle was roomier and more spacious between the Wrangler and the Bronco I think everyone kind of inherently knows the Broncos bigger we haven't figured out how much more and we can't really or we haven't to this point been able to really find anyone who's really just sat down and measured it all and people ask us all the time which one they should go with if they're taller if they're bigger if they're a certain size now you can figure it out yourself yeah I think I think that you look me it doesn't matter hiding me in that right now the Raptor swamps me a little bit yeah it does as follows you fun fact fun fact I am slightly taller than Kevin big surprise I know big surprise not by much though I'm about five eight he's about five seven I'm only about an inch taller than him however when we sit down in a vehicle I am shorter than him because I have more butt I have way more important no it's because all of my length is in my legs my torso is shorter than ovens funny enough so when we sit in vehicles we have to go backwards and forwards on where the rear view mirror sits because he has it set too high for me now one last thing for the Bronco owners there are no cup holders in the back seats even in the Proctor even in the Raptor unless you pull that down no unless you get leather yeah if you get the marine grade vinyl there will be no Center con there'll be no arm rest so there will be no cup holders no cup holders here like in the Jeep which is the dumbest thing yeah so you backseat passengers get to dehydrate all day so if you if you're ordering a Bronco you have to get the leather to get rear cup holders in the seats now I'm sure somebody will come out with like a 3D printed maybe screw into the ground one down here but for 80 000 plus dollars you should have cup holders in the rear so if you order a raptor and you get the green grade vinyl seats you will not have cup holders in the back seats results [Music] [Music] now the next functional comparison I want to make between these two is the width outer Fender to Outer Fender and outer mirror to Outer mirror so although which we all know which ones yeah so although we know the Jeep Wrangler is smaller inside it's because it's also smaller in in general but let's see let's see how small now these fenders are still Factory the only Factory they're just split it the only thing that sticks out further is the wider axle with the bigger tires and we'll actually measure inside and outside of the tires as well but let's do the fender and see how wide the Wrangler is 74 inches outer to Outer Fender and the comically large Bronco Raptor now this actually has the orange lights in the grill and the orange lights in the mirror because after a certain width on-road legally you have to have those orange like does it this isn't a thing that Ford did to be like cool it was legally you have to have these Amber lights if you're too wide just gonna kind of have to like cover it 85 and a half is that really what it is 85 and a half inches Fender Defender is what I'm measuring as long as you're up and down straight that means this is almost a foot wider let's do the mirrors uh go around the other side of the antenna top of the mirror I'm gonna go to the end of the light that's on the mirror oh okay into the light that's the furthest point out 87. now go to the you gotta go over the top of it I am it's right there it's 87. 87 inches to the end of the light and if I do it where Kevin said over the top it is still 87 inches 87 inches let's go see what the Jeep is now one thing to keep in mind is that when you take the doors off the Bronco the mirrors stay with it they don't go along with the doors when you take the doors off the Jeep the mirrors go with it so the Jeep actually gets quite skinny we'll talk about the folding in a second let's measure the mirror on the Wrangler here so just to the end 78 and a quarter or right between seven eight and a quarter and 78 and a half and like Kevin was going to demonstrate a second ago so obviously these can't be taken off along with the door but they fold in very easily and some of you might be like the Jeep mirrors fold in it the key mirrors fold in at the risk of breaking them yeah we've broken quite a few of them okay it's I get it it's a mechanism and it's fine I wanted to show them so you have to you have to push up on it they lift it up there's like a cam so you want to lift it up first it's basically a cam lock system so you have to lift it up to unlock it oh God you just and then it's fine the issue is what we've discovered through all of our Jeeps the more you do that the more that this old starts to rattle as you drive and I mean on like paved roads as you drive like this this whole system just becomes loose and crappy because you have to beat the crap out of it to fold the mirror in so yeah I didn't lift it up one time I was getting ready to hit it on something somebody came over and just like tapped it and it just like broke the cam or whatever's inside of there and that kind of sucked this one's just well the other one this is also easy because it's so much bigger that you have a lot more leverage but look at this like you barely even one way the other and this has a cam see how it comes out of that you have to lift it up you just push it anyway um it's useful it's a more useful way but still significantly wider on a trail all right just for funsies let's see how wide the demon child is it's got one ton axles 40s bead locks it's got It's got everything I mean this is about as wide as you get on the road all right I'm right there 83 and a half inches no way 83 and a half inches that's it yeah we're at 83 and a half oh my God okay so this is the stock Bronco stock Bronco stock suspension now these are Nitto Recon Grapplers but they are still 37 inch tires 84 and a quarter 84 and a quarter you're saying with one ton it's another 72 inch wontons one time are they 70s I think so I think they might be 70 inch wide axles so 70 inch wide one ton axles 40 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers bead locks those are KMC bead lock wheels still smaller I've been a stock Bronco Raptor which means that in our final comparison of vehicle width between the Bronco Raptor and these which one wins do you run it narrower or bigger like which is the winner it depends on the use we're looking at Baja we're looking at Rock crawl [Applause] foreign will be fun and surprising because I don't know about you but it's a it did surprise me on the width of them like you look at this and it's a beast it's a monster I thought this was gonna be wider but anyway let's let's check diff clearance because this is a solid axle versus ifs and we'll check front and rear diff and again this is a 60. this is the front 60. now if we go to the lowest point of the diff we're 13 and a half inches so that's the lowest point that's if you're not paying attention and you're run driving over a big boulder and you forgot that your diff is like in front of your driver's seat because this is Offset you take a rock here you it better be shorter than 13 and a half inches now again we fully understand that this is one of our comparisons that we mentioned at the beginning where we're comparing a modified vehicle at this point to a unmodified vehicle because clearly 40 inch tires which give us a lot more ground clearance and a one ton 60 axle which actually less than or ground clearance is still going to completely affect what the factory ground clearance of a 392 Rubicon is which by the way is 10.3 inches so with these modifications we're about three inches higher a little more than three inches maybe than a factory 392 Rubicon but keep that in mind because when you measure the Bronco Raptor which we can't actually measure to the diff because of the skid plate but if you measure to the skid plate you're at almost 14 inches that's the that which is yeah so let's call I mean it's 13 and three quarter so this next to this skid plate that's the skid plate which I mean you need because otherwise you'd break the diff tired when it starts talking for Angel goes they modified Dean and child yes you got to keep in mind the only way to actually raise your diff clearance is by going bigger tire size unless you go portals because portals actually lift everything up all the steering geometry all the stock suspension everything goes up with it so if you did two and a half three inch lift portals that's all ground clearance you get two and a half three inches just off of that and then you go bigger tire size so it's pretty interesting that's why I said this is modified but you'd be pretty surprised to know how much differential ground clearance you've got right now now keep in mind that is the highest point of this vehicle and that is the lowest point of that vehicle because if you did if you did mess up and come out and hit something on like the lower control arm obviously that's quite a bit lower and if you want to do like a quick quick little measurement if you were paying attention and you did go ahead and uh lowest point well if you did go ahead and miss the diff you're looking at 17 inches if you were to get it right in this axle tube area if you missed and you hit the control arm you're at about 14 and a half inches is about the same so that's about the same right there obviously that's quite a bit lower yep so if you were to get it right and got it right in this pocket you'd get yourself close to 17 inches and for the sake of transparency like I mentioned earlier the only modification we've made to this Bronco raptor is we swapped out the 37 inch BFG ko2s that came with it from Factory to these 37 inch Nitto Recon Grapplers that means something because the 37 inch NATO Recon Grapplers are a lot truer to size as far as the 37 inch tire goes then the bfgs bfgs tend to measure less than their tire size so we might have gained a little bit of ground clearance by swapping to these tires even though they're both 37 inches all right now we're gonna go rear diff to rear diff this is not independent rear suspension this is actually a solid rear axle on the Raptor so we have an 80. so we have a 60 front we have an 80 in the here the Raptor has a 50. so it has a Dana 50 versus a Dana 80. so the 50 is going to be smaller obviously the 80 bigger but 37 tires 37 versus 40. so I'm curious here too because the 80 is a massive dick it's huge the 80 is massive massive yeah 12 inches it's like a quarter so we're at probably uh 11 and three quarters maybe a little less than 11 three quarters for the 80 rear axle now the reason we had to go with an 80 on that is because we've got 840 horsepower and 40s we need something that's basically indestructible I'll take a little less diff clearance look how little this guy is and it's the same yeah that's crazy so 40s and an 80 is the same as a factory Bronco which is 37s and a 50. although that's gonna be like indestructible I think this one not indestructible yeah I mean I would think that if we're gonna go up to 40s we probably need to go up to a 60 get like a at least maybe at least a day to 60. that's actually pretty surprising right to go that bill you're gaining stuff but you're not gaining stuff like you're not gaining ground clearance because you're messing it all up with going bigger but you're gaining reliability because yes we have yet to have any issue with anything you're also gaining weight so it's it's everything's I know give and take which means that the ground clearance results for the Bronco Raptor and and heavily modified and the heavily modified demon child and a little bit of the 392 Rubicon which is the 10.3 inches the final results are [Music] for those of you who don't have garages that are full of other vehicles already like like we have and you actually have a garage to put your Raptor or your 392 or demon in you need to know the height so what we have here again stock 78.7 inches this guy 79 I only need 79 inches to get this in the garage I just I just tape measured it we tape measure it it's really hard to film the height between the two of us yeah but 79 inches 78.7 and for those who are wondering a factory 392 Rubicon is about 74 and a half inches tall so in short this thing you are making a joke about yourself but that's why [Music] this is a land yacht this thing is massive this thing is absolutely massive it's tall it's wide it's spacious it's roomy it's comfortable but it's heavy it's wide it's tall you know what I mean like there's no so there is no I I want both of them there is no like really one or the other I guess if you'd say I feel like you're above six one six two maybe if you're over 220 230 240 you know if you're probably gonna be a lot more comfortable yeah you'll be more comfortable in this um but if you're a die-hard Jeep guy yeah you just butter yourself up and slap your ass in there baby I mean you know it is what it is I get that there's a rivalry between these two but I do want to say we are not die hard Jeep people we don't like Ford we are simply Automotive enthusiasts I have owned a Corvette and afford GT350 literally almost at the same time because a lot of people do say that we're Jeep people and that our comparisons are unfair because ah they will Jeeps all the time they just love Jeep we don't we will Jeep because I mean we do love it but we love it because it does the job we want it to do just like the Bronco Raptors so far has been doing the job we've been asking it to do and a lot of people seem to forget we owned a Toyota Land Cruiser long before we ever owned a Jeep or Bronco we love that too and we love that also we love the things that do well we didn't like our bad squash the Badlands Sasquatch why because it did not do the things that we wanted it to do they were breaking left and right and for those who who disagree with that you've never looked at any of the Forum posts yeah I mean it's pretty bad I will tell you this look I know we get hate from both sides now which is crazy we don't care we're just Automotive enthusiasts I mean I care that people like get mad about it because there's no reason to you should be like wow they're just telling it as as it is from their perspective there is no payment I I can there is no amount of money FCA or stalantis that could pay us to say hey we're gonna give you money we want to put you on our roster to never own a Ford or talk about Bronco again there's like zero amount of money they could do that because I mean honestly my integrity and my own thoughts are worth more than what they could ever pay me I would rather make the money I make now and not have somebody control the words that come out of my mouth we've never taken or even been offered money from Jeep or FCA we've never taken Urban offered money from Ford we've never taken or been offered money from any Vehicle Manufacturer and even if we were ever offered we would never accept because like Kevin said we like the aim to talk when we want to talk and it's deserved and both of these vehicles have deserved to have talked about them at some point or another and they will in the future as well and we're just going to continue doing that and pissing people off I'm sure but it's the honest truth anyways thank you for coming to my TED talks but the height results for a Bronco Raptor or the demon child with a sprinkling of actual 392 Rubicon results or so okay now ultimately obviously we know this isn't Apples to Apples nothing about the demon child is an apple we did find that the comparisons are still really interesting especially when considering how modified this Jeep is and how modified most people's Jeeps are most people that really use their Jeep for what they were intended for they're really cool comparisons and I mean clearly the interior had nothing to do with this being modified the Interiors are just what they are but as far as diff clearance and stuff it's pretty cool to see how these two compare to one another and the wits and I mean the widths really have nothing to do with how modified this is either because as far as what goes the Bronco is just a land yacht now if you've made up your mind between a Jeep and a Bronco when you went with a Bronco maybe you haven't made up your mind between a Bronco Raptor and the regular Bronco this thing has way more to it OEM than the regular Bronco and that's kind of why we went this route we sold the other one three liter twin turbo engine is already going to be an upgrade from the 2.7 under here if you kind of look you're gonna have the fox live valve way beefier tire rods way beefier look at this lower control arm that's a massive piece of aluminum the upper control arm is a massive piece I think stay up steel can't really tell it's big compared to the other one a bigger front diff bigger front axles so like everything in the front of this like bringing the suspension everything was upgraded everything's been upgraded people are like I see people online they're like no it's not you better be careful those tie rods they're gonna break everything on the front end of this is completely different even the steering rack itself isn't the same it's a it's an upgraded steering rack and then if you move to the inside we showed you that brace earlier not only do you get the cool you you don't get these leather seats with the uh regular bra with the regular Bronco where it's the two-tone Suede and leather you get this cross brace that's going to stiffen it so the roof panels all come out still but you will have this cross brace you also don't get these cool performance seat belts or the carbon fiber interior [Music] also back here I didn't know about this there's actually a cross brace back here it says Ford Bronco on it that says for performance my bad but anyway so this wasn't back here and these holes weren't even drilled in the factory cage so I don't know for sure but it's possible that this cage might not even be the same like into your cage because these holes aren't here unless they just drill them I don't know but there are there are those major differences not to mention you know everything else we talked about with the width the 37s The Dana 50 in the rear so people are saying oh well I'll just it's too expensive I'll just get a Badland Sasquatch or I'll just get a regular one and I'll put a bigger diff in it up front and I'll put a bigger axle in the rear like you're still you're still missing I'm spending a lot more money than just buying a brand you're still missing so much this is a way better starting point if you're going to rip everything out like if you're going like long arm trailing arm coil over bypass all that kind of stuff then maybe you start with the regular like if you're gonna do the wide bodies and all that but you're still missing the diffs you're still this and the axles you're still missing the three liter twin turbo you're still missing the bigger transmission so where do you really you know if you're turning a race car fine buy the base one rip everything out put a V8 in it and go that route but I will say for the money worth it this way we said this is hands down off the bat right out of the factory the best vehicle we've ever owned it's it's it's phenomenal it really is phenomenal but I gotta say that factory 392 that jeep came out with there's nothing that pulls like that from the factory okay from the factory I was like uh no as far as a factory vehicle goes yeah if you just want all that I mean that thing that thing will pull a tire off the ground around the corner it's it's it's like full-time four-wheel drive this maybe they still will hold out hope but there's a couple other engine options they could have put into this bad boy uh that probably would have been Super Rad maybe we'll end up with one of those sooner rather than later but here's the thing we love them both like we genuinely love them both the keys I literally any mini miny mo I actually I take the one that has the most acid in the morning the the Ford Bronco we love it because as far as like you said a factory vehicle goes and people get mad because I keep saying it's a stock vehicle I'll argue this I will I will die on this hill it is a stock vehicle if it comes from the factory from the manufacturer as is with no modifications it's a stock vehicle all because the factory upgraded it I mean you can say the 392 is in a factory vehicle either if you want to go that route yeah that's pretty silly this is a really really like dumb thing to argue about that yeah oh the the Raptor isn't it's not isn't Factory stocks performance modified it already Okay rsr team modified the and put a 392 yeah or like a GT 350 is in a stock vehicle like that's so weird anyways point is though as far as a stock vehicle goes right off the bat this thing is incredible if you can buy it from the dealer with a warranty with all the option laid out on the marooni sticker without without anyone ever lifting a a wrench yeah once it's in your possession then it's stuck that's a that's a stock I'm sorry again thank you for coming to our TED Talks as always thank you so much for watching please don't forget to like subscribe and share remember you can find all your light brightness and decals at lightbrightstudios.com as always we love
