Not my video!
DIY Perks made something very akin to a cyberdeck, and I thought y'all might appreciate it.
After seeing the capability of what he made am surprised there is no "phone dock" on the market that does exactly what he built.
Definitely some interesting build techniques. Usually when I see people cut something out of plastic, the entire inside is just hot glue.
It's a nice idea, but I'm just afraid that all the additional hardware would cost more than an actual cheap laptop (that is if it wasn't junk).
That mechanical power switch is really clever. I could see it having alignment issues over time, but it's a simple solution.
How easy would be to scale this project up to use a 21-inch panel? A bigger chassis would mean it could hold a larger battery, and have a slot for a Windows tablet instead of a phone. Am I missing something?
Shame he went to all theeffort to build a nice case, then used epoxy to attach various stuff.
Just happens I have a Galaxy S8 laying around but not all those tools though
