like it's kind of the heartbeat of the show she is kind of progression his is the all everybody there's more pensions in the world than anybody right even she speaks to everyone to the audience and we felt like I think maybe we are cheating this song at this moment this character at the heart rate of the show unless we can add a little more more Bridge a little more RAM you to get into it and the one lyric that I remember asking before I was like you know you would have like half the song but the one there it is mama called me beautiful I don't believe her anymore not listening to you and then I put that back okay she's the gooey center of the show I just feel like summer anthem [Applause] [Music] and I have been in your office when the show had just started there was a whiteboard wall of all the songs and just like a good like this is like this level how much of this has changed and what did you guys numbers did you show somebody talk about it cuz we did write something there are some moments where the song is there and it's always there and it's just as right as Devine things happen to it but that's the song then there's those moments that cycles are small after song after song trying to figure out what the moment is a finale revenge party that justice I'm just saying I'm still voting for old blonde together he was a good old Russian with a boa and we have the peak number at the starting at 2 foot lost up at DC that was really fun I gotta say I was the first day you guys had rehearsal for stop and ever I came in early rehearsal like later that vindication I mean like I have never been so blown away by number that they put together that morning I can't grinding that tap dance and all and I remember someone gets hurt used to be a much more simpler and it was in a kitchen isn't that sexy we wanted it to be a real moment with with Regina and Aaron and it just ended up not working we tried so many different ways but then once you know Jeff beefed it up and we were like let's make it a standalone number and it works much better I guess the same or knows yeah George was like word he was there explaining everything which Regina doesn't have to explain ourselves but really actually she doesn't have to explain yourself because ever stay in the kitchen it's her show and I also want to make note in DC there is a line well there's this line still exist it's a little bit shorter it's right before you can't sit with us so I mean honestly I was nothing most embarrassing part of that talent show and then I would what I used to stay and like I mean did you see Damien do wrecking ball I want to go and I have a gift from Tina it's for the opening night in DC of like 50 different renditions oh no one ever reacted to see wildlife like one of the first girls that she got Mary Mitchell what's the music sound like because I didn't really know either but she sent me a little tough times like and I still have it I love it somewhere heard that song yeah want to leave her a lot with like the Maine for goalposts so like any baseball town back to my enclosing back to one topic to closing back to those change every single one of those changed yeah and those are like the big sort of moments in the show that cracked the whole blueprint and so those I was the change in time my favorite thing is that or the things that felt the most impactful as we started three crafting the story from DC here we're actually like the smaller moments Katie got to reflect with the audience as her other and sometimes it's it's some sometimes it's just the way a song was retracted was speaking to the audience we're speaking to the students or maybe a bit more self processing and not just like I I have so enjoyed doing this part from start to finish because I discovered so much about her between DC and opening and part of that was the writers everything would come in in case he would come in and we would there would just be new information that was given to me about what this specific moment is I think that's why this story even though we don't have the feel close up we are able to follow her so the final rehearsal before DC and then they had sent me a recording of DC because we were doing a panel down in Miami so I knew the original ending and it wasn't until opening night that I saw stars and so stars comes up with like wait this isn't this was an event devastating like just all the time I'm like maybe like you're so proud of where this growth has gotten to and also like the song is so beautiful and so it's Rachel I was like I'm looking around I'd like to verify it's appropriate right like ice cream right now [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we've all done shows we thought into cast parties okay we are time out of town in DC is like such a magical time and I also like can't quite remember it just as in this easier fog above where we were all dating one another because we all lived in the same apartment buildings our only job was to show up at rehearsal and that there is no other stuff that you have to deal with in New York and it's just like going into town is one of my favorite parts in the process because you just bond with your cast like you are at summer camp and I will say you know our composer and book writer Mary and so there's no out romancing them [Music] I think we made them kiss it rehearsal who is most likely should call you in the middle of the night from jail in the most fun way it's just a misunderstanding our lady no I didn't go with her I recently have to yeah [Applause] to rehearsal Derek who's forgotten the biggest thing on stage like who's done the worst huge lame I mean two things Daniels name once you change the lyrics in DC but no it's here was on Broadway and it was like she's just a lot or is that me it's not and then he just stared I truly cannot help you because you were supposed to be telling me information and you just think Mary Mitchell kept conducting our awesome Orchestra and then we just jumped in when I found all the mud the burn book did just fall into the pit it did not fall it did not fall in this room actually part there's a girl say Alex Gemignani was interpreter and he says I didn't ever realize how close but could not just truly hear my world and it was almost were just like I can just carry blackulas every two years like well Regina Butler so nice [Applause] costume and it's always I mean it's always actually was left to like think of the pieces at that moment because something happened that week was pulled off both waves and I was saying to get my weight counters like you look just like a sperm happened so I did the city was like hey girl and but there's an audio recording of it don't Satori well the personal NDC had happened in their top came off so it's time to rip off her Halloween thing and it's she's like just in street clothes and literally took off her top that was me my school and it got hurt the tearaway got tangled in the cheese wear this like strappy tank top underneath and then all of that and her white wires got that got tingles when I went to Yankee got Stephanie with little and I think it hurts I'm so in it in that moment hey girl nice jacket so that's the part there's a nice guy and then with the hair they put the curtain down that's true the next year let the attraction of beauty like that cost you guys I'll never forget what you told me what it was gonna be and I was like he's me I don't how is that possible I'm not gonna leave this age and they came in and it just we've done the show how many times out princess 520 come off a great recently suffered an injury I did you know much more right before this big yes I I would wear these tap shoes that kind of have a chunky heel it's a high heel tap shoes Erica's leaving tomorrow so I was walking down our stairs like I live service two floors up and that stairs are padded for our needs and so I was walking down I have the last week's tears in my foot goes out from underneath my something hurt my ankle last week but I like laugh it off because I was embarrassed to it just stopped and literally matters about the starts happening and I was like I can't tap right now and I did it and I'm fine luckily but I had to miss a shot and I could have been out on medical leave you know like it's it's you know it's a full-time job doing HS a week and your body's like we're not 17 we were pretending to be there of course not I mean with them and because we spent review process is insane and it's like you're living at the theater so I get more nervous when we find out like it was fun celebrities in the audience do you know what I mean because they feel like the family mom and dad you know I don't think they're scared but we do want to do a good job for them obviously you want to make them proud it's always fun to see that we don't get to guys about time I love it what is sneaky like last night Jeff was there and then after sandy was in the office he's like I like to style a ticket and you guys you guys have had some celebrity cats backstage who who's popped in my center chest my favorite was what was it a cast popped in do you want to meet cast favorites or to say that my favorite was Neil deGrasse Tyson its shout out in the show but also he was the celebrity who was the most exactly what you wanted him to be like he status down and read a sequela he talked to us about a really young in life is ahead of us that we need to like seasons I think even the show to give us his one-man show stared at him a bit in the shadow which I thought was really cool he could be like genies wall yes Melissa McCarthy was so awesome and nice Amy Poehler of course we actually what's really cool is we have them sign that inside of the bathroom stalls you know that we bring those onstage and so it looks like graffiti on the stupid - I was - bathroom stall swing like it looks truly just like I think some people will you'll get your hair is amazing black out because it's his actual phone number any personal items that you have brought him to the show and put on stage or use as process personal life personal items of their own yeah oh is that that universal one day because I have we get across and I was like well I don't anything my hands and the running joke is that I can't believe I can't do anything about a crop the show and so I went up to our rescue took Ashley's shape wait and must carried out her fun and that's at the show now I think people look boys at the show right I always you know if I'm to prove the straw in it and those are the showing puffs in the show because Kate he had ring box one day if you want it I was like sure sure [Applause] it's all do you get t-shirts that where's this show I wear a share sugar pointing like the presentation and so I think Craig Barnes who's amazing was like okay let's go with that and so that's why all the t-shirts became a thing and they're like what track meets do you like and was like we need Alyssa Edwards redo so it just became sort of that like running joke and then there's a few really specific funny ones out Tina and Damian yeah you should watch this crazy like where's this teacher if you've never seen this movie - what if it works hard movie that's right I actually sell it at the movie theater it was like nineteen something and it's horrible it has this transphobic finale moment where the killer is revealed to be a boy who's been raised as a girl we did a movie night at my parents house when we were teenagers and I had already seen it because I paid to see it and Tina and our friend Marlene and my brother Jim they had not seen this and they do not know it's coming up full frontal nudity of a child first thing you've ever seen holding the decapitated head of a boy she just killed because I made this t-shirt that's a sleepaway camp it seems like watched the movie when I do across in asleep wake him and so that's a little like one person tweeted me about they're like I love us they wake up t-shirt movies have spawned like several sequels it's a franchise yeah it's you have to watch the questions from the audience so we have ne pas there we go if you could be any other character besides your own who would you be we can we have a question can I also choice that ns [Music] [Music] and you guys actually so you guys did a recording like everything's recording or something for Tina's birthday right oh my god Daisy last year these guys Sam dick reports quickly the most amazing birthday present you were because you got the cast to record other people's songs and two covers added and our daughters to cover and is the greatest thing only I have what in tomorrow's copes thing Alexi microscopes leg sexy and Taylor my brother gave me like a funky version yeah that's pretty it's pretty good they will find some like way to play it that raises money for charity or something in high school which character would you relate would have related to the most evening girls in high school Katy I'm probably a lot of us Katy she kind of goes through it all and I feel like in high school I was I had my moments of trying to be mean girl I was a lot like Gretchen I think actually I think I like to think that I was like confident like Damien lost but I definitely wasn't growing up in Georgia in high school but I was like the different one and I just wanted to take what I liked me a lot all right what character from any musical are played would you cosplay at dress out that it's the costume to build costume his hair [Applause] I think the planet what about you guys what are you guys would you dress up as any characters just saying they like my plaid shirt and jeans I basically am doing candy right now call that sugar did I did doctor stuff my correction about that was not [Music] okay what's your funniest backstage moment lots carry each other [Laughter] and it was back stings like thinking belong to whatever is happening on stage I sometimes try and sing along to her at the end of rope burn and I'm just like wow that's so painful [Laughter] yeah hope you know it's not funny but like you don't know that's Beverly Erica but when you guys are you and Kyle do start the reels the first stars the back back stage left we have a full harmony we do the entire song there's all extra line if there's extra harmonies that are how it was like nine of us that you said like do it and it's f1 times d1 and that's it fit in there is it appropriate in the numbers a for the number word on so Louise Curtis this
