Broadway Bucket List: Brandon Uranowitz Sings His Dream Roles

(upbeat music) (bucket dropping) Hi, I'm Brandon Uranowitz and I'm nominated for a Tony Award this year for my performance as Mendel in the revival of Falsettos, and you can catch me on Broadway again later this year in Prince of Broadway celebrating the wonderful work of the legendary Hal Prince. And today I'll be singing songs from three of my dream roles on my Broadway Bucket List. Leo Frank in Parade I don't think will come as a shock to anybody for being on my bucket list because... but it does have one of the greatest scores I think written in the last twenty years and it's just epic and beautiful and it's not often that you see a leading man character like Leo with that sort of complexity and it's something that I dream about playing. Probably every day. (piano) ♪ It means cancel all your parties ♪ ♪ Forget your big parade ♪ ♪ It means the crowds will not be cheering ♪ ♪ So despite what you've been hearing ♪ ♪ You can lay down your spade ♪ ♪ It mean my mother can stop crying ♪ ♪ My Rabbi's eulogy can wait ♪ ♪ It means that Dorsey can stop beaming ♪ ♪ And my cousin can stop dreaming ♪ ♪ Of his portion of my estate ♪ ♪ It means no this isn't over ♪ ♪ No the date's not set ♪ ♪ No I won't wake up tomorrow ♪ ♪ Drowning in my sweat ♪ ♪ It means I've got the greatest partner ♪ ♪ Any man can get ♪ ♪ It means I'll never ever ever ♪ ♪ Underestimate that woman ♪ ♪ 'Cause this is not over ♪ ♪ Yet ♪ One of the most vivid memories I have of going to see theater as a child was Roundabout's revival of Company in the nineties. And my dream role may not be what you think but, Veanne Cox's performance as Amy, singing "Not Getting Married" has stayed with me since I was eight years old and the first time I saw that show in the front row. So this, is Amy from Company. Mendel, in Falsettos. It was a dream come true and the entire experience was life changing, life validating, life affirming, and I'll never forget it. So, this is "Marriage Proposal" from Falsettos.
