[Music] hey what's going on troops gen dick commando here welcome to the channel everyone today we've got a fantastic reaction guys to uh to react to it's a video called master sergeant roy benavidez message to america now we all know i did a video on him um a few weeks ago it's the story about the green beret he was in the jungle in vietnam and he he had the most insanely um crazy story all right guys it's uh it's it's basically the story that reminded me of rambo okay it's it's it's crazy but it's fantastic at the same time if you haven't seen it yet you need to go watch it all right but it's about him and i've been recommended this by quite a few people that said look if you think that's cool you need to listen to this guy um and watch a bit of content on on the person behind the the infographics video that we reacted to so this is it guys that's what we're doing a little bit about myself then troops if you are new the channel armor i'm of actual former royal marines commando um i'll reach you over for it i'm a green beret holder myself although you can't see it very much because of the green screen um this is actually a green beret that i used to wear in the in the royal marines so there you go it's it's rather fit in this video and um yeah i can't wait to do this one guys these american vietnam military videos have been doing really really well so hopefully you guys can appreciate these reactions okay if you do smash that like button subscribe to the channel and consider sharing uh this content with more people it just helps the channel to grow which it has done crazily over the past few weeks and um i just want to take a couple of seconds to say you know what guys i'm i'm so appreciative of um of all of the support okay i know i just sit here and react to different videos and stuff but i've got a whole load of other ideas that i want to do for the channel for each and every one of you guys i want to you know share with you my my journey back into the royal marines as a reservist so you know i'm just trying to just trying to go through life as best i can guys to support my family and you guys supporting me along the way really does make my heart feel a lot more um special okay guys so just just want to say thank you thanks thanks to every one of you guys including the members i've got like i think 52 members now at the moment and you guys are the best man seriously the the support you show me every single month to be able to do this i wouldn't be able to do it without you so if you if you want to become a member press that member button hit that join button and that's it guys but without further ado let's get into this one it makes me feel great when i put my uniform that's the big p the best piece of clothing i ever own hey and i wear it all the time i don't care what other people say they don't think i have civilian clothes i don't care no because you know it's great to be in uniform at least i get to show the taxpayer where his money goes and i get a haircut every friday whether i need or not right off straight off the from the start then this guy seems really nice actually you know it's um it's a character trait that i've noticed in in all of the medal of honor recipients that i've reacted on they've got a real calm beautiful persona about them maybe that's a characteristic you need to be ultimately brave and and you know these guys are prepared to sacrifice their lives um at the call of in the call of duty guys all right and i think that's a character trait they're just actually nice people but let me also leave you with this in mind ladies and gentlemen since we're in in tight crisis you know there's a scene among us veterans that it is those that have fought for it that life has special flavor that the protector will never know you have never lived to your more time and it does veteran especially the wounded that prays for peace most of all you know you know something he's hit on something there but i i really do try to give best advice to especially the the youth of society today there a lot of the questions i get on social media regarding the marines the royal marines wanting to be the best getting a green beret they all associate around the the want and the desire to go to war to do all of the things that they see on tv and the movies and stuff and i try and give as brutally honest of a opinion as i can and say yes it's a fantastic career but you should never want war um and and like he said there i think by being in the military by doing a really really really hard military course it allows you to understand um you know the that war is is not a nice thing it's um in pieces is actually something that we should all strive for this man seeing it he's a real life rambo better than rambo and and this guy is actually um saying the same thing so it makes sense because we have to suffer the wounds of war and in conclusion let me tell you a point that i promised this lady she's the grandmother and mother of all of us soldiers this lady is the greatest of all she's a nun and a poem was given to her by a veteran and she wanted me to recite this poem everywhere i go and the poem goes like this hello remember me some people call me all glory others call me the star-spangled banner but whatever they call me i'm your flag the flag of the united states of america something has been bothering me so i thought i'd talk it over with you because it's about me and you not too long ago people would line up on both sides of the street to see a parade go by actually i was leading that parade proudly waving in the breeze and when your daddy saw me coming he would immediately remove his hat and place it over his left shoulder so his right hand would be over his heart and you you were standing there right next to your dad you didn't have a hat and your little sister not to be outdone was standing right next to you both of you had your right hand over your heart what has happened now i don't feel as far as i used to i'm still the same flying i see children around playing shouting they don't seem to know or care who i am or what i stand for i saw an elderly gentleman took his head off but when he saw others was theirs on he turned around and slowly walked away hey i'm still the same old flag a few stars has been noticing those parades long ago a lot of blood has been shed a a sin to be patriotic anymore have you forgotten who i am what i stand for and where i've been and your water canal korea and vietnam take a good look one day at the memorial on rome of all the names of all those that never came back they gave their life for this great nation to be free under god when you salute me you salute each and every one of them well it won't be long now and i'll be coming down the street leading that parade and proudly waving and breathing so when you see me coming stand up straight and salute i've got to pause it for a second guys because what he's saying there is just really hitting uh hitting my heart and an awful lot like you know it it makes me realize that you know i i felt exactly the same ways as this uh this this master sergeant roy benavidez when i was in the marines it's um it's a sense of pride that you have and it goes beyond discipline it's it goes beyond respect it's having ultimate humility um and what's the word it's just about having love for those who've who've passed you know war for the benefits of our freedom and it's very very easy to forget about our freedoms it's very very easy to have an opinion on our freedoms it's very very easy to do that when you're sat at your sofa safe and sound at home from a privileged background from a from a country that's free you know these guys have seen the worst of humanity the worst of the world and you know it's just easy for us to say certain things and all he's saying do is you know have some respect for those who've passed have some respect for the flag it's okay to be patriotic you know it's beautiful to be patriotic we can all be patriotic we can be patriotic to other people's countries i'm patriotic to america to united states i know there's many war veterans in america patriotic and and and patriotic to to the great britain and the united kingdom flag you know our country is a fort side inside in war for hundreds thousands of years it's just one of those it's it's it's a beautiful thing patriotism all right and uh we need to be more like that and i think it's it's been forgotten about a little bit now i don't know how long this video was um was recorded off but maybe 30 years ago you know he's talking about it then um but yeah it needs to be more than that we need to work harder to preserve you know the morals and standards that the likes of these individuals have created they fought for freedoms that we find really easy to kind of forget and uh i'll i'll not forget you know i've earned i've earned my green berean um i'm part of the brotherhood but by being part of the brotherhood you need to kind of understand that you're withholding all of the standards that came before you and i'll definitely do that even though i'm not actively in the military anymore i am i can understand where he's coming from guys so do me a favor if you want to drop a comment below show some respect for benavidez i'd really appreciate that guys okay and i salute you by waiting back and then i know that you remember and ladies and gentlemen that's a beautiful point and you remember back in the 60s when they were burning the flag when guys were wearing this flagging the seat of the pants when they're burning the drive cars taking off the pedals i find those guys whenever i say this point and now they come up to me and they ask me for forgiveness and you know what i ask them because of you because of you i ask them how does it feel to enjoy freedom at the expense of my buddy's life in the 10 years that we fought in vietnam we lost 58 000 men to include eight women we have two women that are unlisted right now we never won that war not because we weren't defeated but because we were not never allowed to win and i don't want to repeat this poem anymore because they are given all their tomorrows for our today in conclusion i know that you have this question and i got that book [Music] the question is would you do it all over again the most famous question of all i would tell they pay me for asking for answering that question i make a lot of money would i do it all over again i'll answer you in this matter there'll never be enough paper to print the money no enough gold and fort knox for me to have to keep me from doing what i did i'm proud to be an american and even prouder to have earned the privilege to wear the famous green brain wow i live well let's talk about this guys let's talk about this well that's really got me actually him putting his green bearing on his head it brought me back i'm going to talk to you about something that that's just it brought me back to a moment when i first received my green beret now the moment that everyone knows you've become a royal marines commando one of the best soldiers on the planet and you've earned your green beret is pass out parade where your family come to see you and stuff but the first time as an individual that you get your green beret it's very private very humbling and unbelievable experience it happens at the end of your 30 miler having completed all of the other commando tests haven't completed 32 weeks of arduous commando basic training and you form a hollow square with however many got across that finish line in my case i think there was about 12 of us 10 of us maybe he's even less out of about 80 who originally started and we were handed out green beret i remember being the most special occasion an occasion that i'll i'll never forget and i knew at that point when i received that green beret off the major in charge of the company i looked to my left and looked to my right and i thought i'm never going to forget you i'm never going to forget you i'm never going to forget this moment in time and i've got a bad memory guys but i'll never forget that moment i received my green beret and i put it on my head for the first time and it just brought me back that and i can understand what he means by that there's there's no money for any any real any real soldier who's earned something like this will understand that it's it's just a piece of cloth that you can get for about six pound off the internet but you can't buy it you can't buy the title you can't earn you can't pay to earn something you have to earn that and i understand his love for the for the green beret i understand that is it's priceless and he won't buy it but not everyone can own it does that make sense and yeah i just have a lot more respect for this guy and i've seen his video in um and seeing him in person such a humble guy you know such a wonderful spirit such a kind soft-spoken man it's testament that men don't have to be loud bald muscular aggressive people to be you know heroes to be the best of us now this guy is the best of us and he's none of those stereotypes that i've just said there he's actually quite humble lovely warm welcoming nice sport and kind-hearted person i think that's the secret actually guys to not just becoming a good soldier but becoming a good person in general and making things happen because if you're a good hearted spirited person then your life has so much more you know potential boundary free um to be able to reach goals that you want to reach whether that's in the military whether that's in your personal life whether that's in a career so i think we can learn a lot for him and i think it all starts with appreciation appreciating our forefathers who fought and died in wars for our freedoms to be able to make this kind of content and speak and watch youtube videos and do everything that we're doing right now is all because of the freedom that we practice we practice freedom but we were granted it by these people um and i'm very grateful of that so this is a fantastic video guys and i'm gonna wrap it up there actually but um if you don't mind supporting the channel and you want to help a little bit more press that join button and become a member i'd really appreciate it troops um i appreciate it more than you actually believe and yeah make sure you hit that like button i think we can get we can get a thousand likes for this video i'd be really happy okay guys but uh yeah if you want to speak to me drop a comment below and i'll see you in the next video guys bye [Music]
