what is up guys welcome back to the channel today's reaction video is European houses versus American houses part one uh 10 major differences now this is mainly focused on German houses which is the actual title of video but we're British we're gonna European houses are kind of similar I'm guessing so um and again we're gonna put our Insight on so we're gonna potentially be learning about how different German houses are to us and then obviously American ones as well we'll have assay on the British Port I know we've done uh similar videos with lost in a pond but it's a different perspective so different stuff will be part picked up and stuff like let us know if you want us to check out more stuff like this it's part one so I'm guessing this channel has part two go and check this channel out and smash that like button on my channel guys smash that subscribe button wait to the end of this video right to the end of this video as always I know you ready let's get straight into it German houses slash European houses versus American houses what we got if you're an American and you're thinking about moving to Germany I'm going to share with you 10 differences between German houses and Americans what's up everybody XP life now on this channel I share with you new things that I learned experience as it pertains to travel and different cultures so if you're new to the channel consider subscribing there's a lot of differences between German houses and American houses but this video won't be all inclusive I'm just going to share with you 10 things that I feel are wish we can check out the importance if you want to know if you're considering moving to Germany so the first major difference is actually not in the house at all German houses are typically close together in a community since I've been here in the house that was just off by itself because compared to the U.S it's very common for houses to be separated by a kilometer or so it's I should say yes I wasn't it that is yeah that's just unfortunate but we're not that big again same with Germany nowhere near as big as the US so we've got to be closer for everyone in you guys just have way too much land over there it can just spread out especially in rural areas like in the South the second major difference is German houses tend to be built up I've never seen a house that was only one floor typically it's at least two floors the house that I live in is actually three floors versus in the U.S it's very common to find houses that are only one floor the third major difference is the carb that one kind of it's pretty that's pretty common in the UK I would say the typical house is two floors yep and again it's the same reason we haven't got as much space probably still gotta go up yeah I'd probably say there's as many three bet three floor houses as there are one floor houses I'd say yeah yeah two floors one common one floor is the least common unless obviously it's a flat but again the flats have more floors but again it's just space we don't have a space to do loads for German houses it's a common thing to have the carport separated from the house sometimes you'll have one like mine where it's just a cover um other times we have one that you can close now this is different from the us where the garage is usually that's typical UK plus UK house typically attached to the house yeah in the house another point of entry into the house and typically they're made to fit one or two parts so the fourth major difference between German houses and American houses are the doors the only way to lock the doors in German houses are with the key the other thing to note is that if you don't have your key when you go outside you could potentially be locked out of the house before it come I mean growing up I I only really noticed handles yep and they opened if you didn't lock them yeah but then now I'm a bit older I feel like I'm seeing less of those and more of those if your clothes that you're screwed unless you're lucky yeah I mean we have one of them at the house at the moment downstairs we do but upstairs this is one of the only places I've lived in which has that I think majority has handles but it's becoming more fashion now it's to be like a German one it's like a modern thing isn't it it's definitely coming in a lot more which kind of makes sense you ain't got EQ you can't get in everyone gets a new door it's them doors that have them sort of handle things they're definitely coming in more but I'd still stable more handles than that yeah I remember what it what made me laugh was when we went back to your where your dad lives yeah on the little estate and obviously though some of the houses have been done up and like just when we came back like so many people had those those doors of the one hand the one big handle yeah the ones which have been done almost every house apart from for you always hadn't been doing no definitely so it's more of a modern thing but I'd say it's probably more often handles where you can I feel like if you ask us in like five years is that would probably be the most maybe we'll see you do the houses but after we do this video in five years we'll see yeah most doors don't have any kind of door knob so when you close it it's it's shut and you have good for security the fifth major difference between German houses and American houses is the heating in my house and in most German houses you have radiators to heat the house and what's cool about these things central heating they're all throughout the house in every single room and you only heat the rooms that you are in for example I spend most of my time downstairs so I almost never turn on the ones on the second and third floor including the bedroom because I like my bedroom cold this is a major difference yeah I like it all in American houses are the refrigerators oh no this is going home your fridge won't actually look like a fridge but will look like a ordinary cabinet one of the other people that didn't grow up with an integrated fridge I think most people didn't I didn't we don't have one here I think do in our new place if we get in a new place which we're hopefully going to get we do I feel like more modern Flats Flats houses I would say 90 of houses have separate fridges half of them not half a quarter of them have American fridges yeah if you can afford it you have to make fridges but nowadays Flats saving space is integrated uh more often than it saves you money you should have to buy a fridge when you move out yeah you also have to buy Fuji movie which everyone's now gonna think am I going to get my American friends we may get on eventually we may do we've paused this video a lot it's only eight minute videos so hopefully you're enjoying I would put on it let us know if I'm enjoying what life is yeah I could say you normally like we won't pause too much because we don't want to annoy people booming we're enjoying the video hopefully you are too you freezer um which is something that I think is pretty standard I've been in quite a few German homes and I have yet to see a freezer typically all refrigerated yeah that's very American it's like literally sexy that's so sexy the seventh major difference between German houses and American houses is that German houses don't have closets so most of the time you have to buy something like a wardrobe similar to UK Ikea every single day I think my lost house did have their own wardrobe they did but I think most of them don't majority of them you have to kind of purchase your own yeah you normally get an Ikea things Americans have like full-on rooms yeah you have walking audio like you guys but yeah it's because you've got so much more space we're so jealous so the eighth major difference between German houses and American houses are the windows the first thing I want to point out about the windows are the rolands rolands are these metal or plastic shutters that you can let either up or down and on the outside wow the second thing I want to point out about the windows is that there are two different ways that you can open them if you don't want to open the window all the way up so that you don't have to deal with bugs and potentially birds flying in all you have to do is turn the knobs all the way up and the window comes down to about this point yeah even with it like this I can already start to feel the cool air stuff it's going to close it so if you want to completely air out the room the window actually comes all the way open and all you have to do is turn the knob to the side and now the windows are sick we have them at our office at work so they're definitely coming in the UK not as common in homes like that modern thing again aren't they probably be put into homes modernly yeah more of a modern thing them shoes on the outside though that's it if you're from Germany ready for that please let us know if they're on every house because you can see him on the one opposite I've never seen them before they're external as well which is awesome they are pretty cool it means you have things on your windowsill no nothing as long as yeah as long as they look fancy from the outside then as long as you don't look awful which I don't think men want to do you'd have to see it in full context I like them let us know in the comments to lack it just turn it down now there's no standard window for American Homes but one of the things that really comes in handy that you find in the US but won't find in Germany are screens typically in America Windows no Book screens yeah we don't have them in order to keep the bugs out if you want to open it up the ninth major difference between German houses and American houses are the ceilings look at that German houses from the outside they tend to have very steep chimneys chimneys yeah there you go um and you actually see that when you go into the house so you definitely want to take this into consideration when you think about uh the different types of furniture that you want to buy or same in UK here the last major difference between German houses and American houses are the bathrooms specifically the toilet and the tubs the thing that I want to a couple things I want to point out about the toilet if you'll know this it does not have a back tank to it that is visible yep which again it's just more of a modern thing yeah at work we uh because um design flats and stuff if you guys didn't know um more modern it comes in whereas I think it's more of a house thing would be to have a traditional Citron and stuff like that it would I think it would depend if you did your bathroom up or not very true it comes down to like if you if you do your bathroom up then you're probably going to put a more modern toilet in which means you're probably not going to have one yeah you just keep your normal toilet then it's potentially an old Squat and it depends what you're out if it's an old-fashioned house you might want an old-fashioned toilet you go with that same style so but I think it's just a more modern thing toilets isn't it uh it doesn't go into the floor and typically what you'll find in American houses is the toilet will be mounted onto the floor most UK and it'll have a water tank in the back another thing I wanted to point out about the toilet is that German toilets don't have a lot of water in the bowl no you don't need the the hole we don't have a lot of toilet water in the toilet no that's very soon we've heard before and I think it's about that as well I just put I think ours is less I'll just definitely less than that I'd say we're saving water we're saving water okay we've got you we'll save the water it's less to a lot of to Splash at you you know when you go into a toilet so sometimes that's an issue that is an issue sometimes so Americans are right up to the top right it's close to the top of the toilet as well surely it's tight I can't believe you just said that I would have to get demonetized this has been a long book I will not can you be better like we I just said that and you have like all this flat space in the toilet so oh oh my God no I agree sorry our water is like that I thought the water was like here and I thought it was extremely I told you that oh what was exact same is that yes sorry good job aiming or are you gonna have to use the brush to to clean it um also with just toilet um that's what the bush is there for a really good job flushing compared to American toilets the toilets in the marinade and you flush them unless you're in a public restroom when you flush them they tend to do um they do this swirl the water comes in and it does the swirling motion probably somebody's describing toilets on the toilets when you flush it that's what I was doing that's right yeah and you gotta be careful because you gotta watch it until it stops because in case it doesn't it oh no get my plunger in he's not bad all the time girls don't poop I don't know and I've never had a problem with anything uh not going down yeah you ain't got my balls you ain't got my vows you guys are hearing way too much maybe you should be able to do this video they tend to have these shower nozzles attached to them but as you can see there is no shower curtain what are some things that you liked about German houses that you would like to incorporate into your own listener mccollins if you ever been to Britain or join me let us know anything else with the no back oh but walking toilet yeah which is about it is getting more common in modern it's definitely a more modern thing it's coming around so again maybe if we visit this in five years it may have changed a little bit we may seem more well-hung and stuff like that I think they do they potentially smash that like button guys smash that subscribe button did you enjoy that it was actually really good we definitely it's at least a 14 minute video this um so we've definitely dragged this one out but it's because we've enjoyed it we've pretty much doubled the length we charge loads we've got dragged out we've just given our opinions everyone says for two questions definitely so and we've been you guys know we've enjoyed it if we talk more I guess it depends what subject it is so if you want to hear us waffling more about major differences potentially between German houses and American but also throwing in our British knowledge let us know in the comments smash that like button guys smash that subscribe button and watch the video a fantastic day and we'll see you Legends in the next one peace
