Bringing Scammers Together (Not Harmonious!) - Scambaiting By Reply-All

okay so what a lot of people seem to like the two videos I put out so far on scam baiting and many people have asked for more I'm working on that but meanwhile I thought I might tell you about a bit a scam baiting I did a few years back if you don't mind so in this one we bring people together and by people I mean scammers and in terms of bringing together well I didn't really give him much choice so our story begins in November of 2013 when a scammer named dr. John Felix emailed me about helping me claim the fortune of a dying Nigerian Widow that's obviously not a scammers real name but throughout this video I will just refer to them by the names they've given me so if you've never heard of this before this is a 4-1 nine advance fee scam and what happens here if you respond to the scammer is they promise you a large sum of money but you have to pay a fee some sort of administration or bank fee you pay the money and you never hear from the scammer again unless is to ask for more money if they think they can get away with that anyway I responded with a few brief messages just to get past the copy and paste responses or automated responses and to get a real conversation rolling after all I want to be wasting the time of a real scammer not interacting with some autoresponder while that conversation was happening another scam email came in from mr. Webster Stephen Alexander or maybe it was David Edward hard to say notifying me that I had won the National Lottery only a little while later another one from mr. James looper informing me of his intention to present me as the legal heir of a wealthy victim of an airline crash it was at this point a question appeared in my head what would happen if I somehow tried to merge these scam baiting conversations into a single thread so I just did something really simple I kept a notepad document containing a list of the email addresses of all on my pet scammers and every time a new one came in after getting them on the hook with a couple of rounds of okay more similar I just add them to the list then send my next reply to the whole list the fresh scam emails continued to roll in and I continued to add them to the list and each time I replied to the whole list so Nina de Lima wants me to claim the frozen account balance of a deceased customer of her bank nina goes on the list angela benjamin is a dying widow and wants me to take care of her charity fund and continue her life's work on the list paula Kofu says I am a scam victim and wants to offer me compensation get on the list Paul Dana airline's said I could claim thirty million dollars compensation because the Reverend cold had been killed in a plane crash this seems a pretty common problem anyway Dana airlines on the list you go on and on it went for a couple of months nothing very exciting happened except the list grew to more than thirty scammers and suddenly we seem to hit some sort of critical mass sparks began to fly in my little community of scammers I suppose I should mention at this point I had begun to adopt a convention every time I welcomed a new scammer to the list I did so by using the greeting idiot scammer you're on the list now one of the scammers barrister David Smith hadn't yet figured out what was going on and asked why you send the same message three times idiot before I could respond dr. John Felix answered now your father idiot don't try and write me again James looper chimed in to ask who is dr. John Felix dr. John Felix asked who is James looper this was lovely because what seemed to be happening now is the scammers were wasting each other's time and annoying one another without very much input from me i sat back to watch some of the scammers tried to maintain a facade of authenticity mr. william berry told me you are hereby advice to stop dealing with some non officials other scammers in our little Club were just plain confused and like Antonio Lucas's squire they lost track of me as the target and began to ask questions like why so many are responding kindly reply if you are serious about the transaction some of these scammers are applying only to me but many of them must have hit reply all every now and again I would just contribute to the group with the words idiot scammer James looper began to beg dear Monge please I beg you in the name of God to stop sending me what I do not know about I have given you my driver's license and house address then how can I be a scammer I do not know where you get all these Nigeria scam letters I left the US and my family for the claim I contacted you for but now you keep insulting me for what criminals in Nigeria are sending to you please stop if you're not doing the claim with me well of course I'm not doing the claim with him he's a scammer but I felt like he deserved to reply to his pleading request as so I replied to the whole list of course I love that you said please so sweet idiot scammer you're on the list you're staying on the list now if I did this whole exercise again and I well might because it was a lot of fun I think I might set up a proper group mail distribution list so each of the scammers would think they're only replying to a single respondent I reckon that would add to the confusion factor anyway James Bowman had now figured out what was going on and sent me a Sheltie one-liner saying you are bastard indeed again I felt this needed a personal reply well I guess not really personal because I did reply to the whole list again perhaps so maybe I am a bastard but at least I'm not evil you know evil like an idiot scammer for good measure I added does your mother know what you do for a living Dana airlines tried a sad and plaintive complaint saying please it is not the airline that called you a bastard only God knows where you're getting this mails from and then mix them up with the airline email our email is dana airlines at hotmail.com i don't like to see people confused so I clarified the situation by replying to the whole list obviously allow me to explain this mailing list is a list of scammers all of the scammers on this list get to see the reply to the latest scammer I add to the list you Dana airlines Limited at hotmail.com are on the list because of the email you sent me on Friday the 17th of January containing your scam story about compensation for the death of Reverend Cole and his family in a plane crash hope this helps all the while this was happening I noticed I was getting an increasing number of automatic responses some of the mailboxes on my original list of 30-plus scammers no longer existed in some cases this was no doubt shut down by Microsoft or Google but I think some of them may in fact have shut down their own email accounts in order to get away from the noise now of course it's not that hard to close a mailbox and open a new one but it's a little bit of inconvenience so I'm calling that a win James Bowman came back again caps lock still stuck on saying Olokun hiago a olala a gun and thunder fire you to death crude sack D Erin you bastard I don't know what all of that means exactly except to say that it means that the writer was not in calm state of mind shortly afterwards I got a bounce from James Bowman's mailbox so it looks like he might quit the game in his rage so the population of our little reluctant community began to dwindle and things quieten down a bit but some of the later arrivals were still gamely trying to protest their innocence such as James Wong who had earlier promised me he would help me cash in the Hong Kong bank account of 124 million dollars left by some dead Libyan guy who now said this is not a scam it's real give me a chance to prove that I said of course it's a scam get an honest job he replied this is not a scam I'm currently in Africa soil for the funds as soon as you agree we will work out modalities and best option you can receive the funds the fund is in the diamond Bank Africa and in a bank in Spain no all that glitter are gold but most are that conversation might have gone somewhere interesting but I felt like this little project it just reaches crescendo when James Lieber seemed to have had just about enough and blew his top saying God will punish you together with these idiots Camus you and them are sending all this rubbish to me what a result that will do nicely so I hope that was a little bit interesting even though it's just a trawl through my archives I've been doing this sort of scam baiting for about 15 years now and I don't intend to stop anytime soon we'll have some fresh results again fairly soon I hope you stick around to see them thanks for watching and I
