here we are with the uh the wall of vox so tell us a little bit about how brian is setting this up and why the amps are turned the way they are and then they turn away it's it's not a very deep stage because all this all this um scenery and stuff there when they were when they were more face-on they were straight in his back and he just didn't like it uh this this carpet it even it you know it's it's not aesthetic it actually stops the rebound as well off a stage like this and it's a it's a hollow stage so if we have to stop the nasty reflections um also a job i haven't done today is when brian's playing up there i have to put a blanket over this because it hits that and goes up there and sounds horrible um so a lot there's a lot of reflections that i'm trying to stop obviously i'm trying to try to protect roger here as well from the back of the amp which is why we have a perspex screen on here um so basically the top three are as most people know are they're dummy uh they're they're not dummy cabinets they carry all my spare speakers um but it's it's always looked like this so it yeah has to look at this these are three spare amplifiers in case any one of these three blow up and i can just throw those out the way lift that one down i have two more spares here um and these three amps are all the same these are like sort of late well early 70s but they've all been slightly modified all of these amps are slightly modified these ones heavily modified yeah a few a good few years ago um i just wanted all the circuitry that wasn't needed taken out um because it just improves reliability uh one thing we didn't look at there was the power supply i have a power supply okay um in the bottom of that rack which gives me 234 volts at 50 hertz which is exactly what these want to see anywhere in the world so if you give me your silly american girlie power then i can make it i can make it i can make it man's power yeah stuff that will kill you if you touch it and this 110 rubbish um so yeah i can i can get i can get these i can i can give these exactly what they want and it does it does bring the reliability up a lot um these were actually built for the we were rock hue theater show by again greg fryer he also does amp stuff and they've just proved they're inc they're very reliable but they're also they sound very very nice they sound very very warm and but with they're just very pleasant sounding amps so i have three of these at the moment i could do with another three really but maybe one day i'll get around to those but these are close enough you wouldn't with it with the volume he's playing at you can't tell the difference between that and that and i can tell you now you you cannot tell the difference so so all three examples are getting the same signal no the the center amp is straight through the rack so there's no effects on the center amp at all the wet stuff is is all wet on the left and right so when he's playing the the brighton rock solo which has got an 800 800 millisecond delay on a 1600 millisecond delay he gets the original single signal out of there then he gets that one 800 milliseconds later then he gets that one 1600 milliseconds later so it goes yeah and it's the same out of that he's got all these side fields of the guitar so we have one here yep right here behind us we have two under there and we have the two on the side here so when you stand in the middle it's an amazing sound because you hear it behind you then to the left and then and it's just an amazing so the side fills are mimicking the amp setup yeah yeah that's it and you just he has a bit bass guitar in there and a little bit of snare and kick in the front and that's it now on the on the amps themselves is easy setting them up differently between the three are they all they're all the same they're all flat out so they're flat out all the time controls are off the cut's fully up and the master volume is fully up so it's really easy to set you could you just do that with every single control except the volume which you turn flat out and it goes in the normal input and you mentioned these up here are housing your extra speakers is it common for him to go through speakers or speakers yeah we blow he blows quite a few speakers again touch wood we haven't had an amp failure or a a speed fail or anything so far i think it's it's it's down a lot of it's down to the to that power supply keeping it all so smooth i mean these are these poor little things are hanging on for dear life you know they're like that by their fingernails waiting to wait to go bang but they're slim and trim they got the excess stuff out of there and they're absolutely yeah and a high quality valves as well i mean that's the are tubes uh yeah sorry tubes yeah whatever you call them a tube something we ride in london you see that's yeah and so yeah the valves are tubes sorry um very high quality they're blast tested for a long time a lot a lot more than a lot higher um input input than than they would get in this but they're blast tested at that for like a day if they survive that i get them okay um so yeah and i've got i've got a big box full of tubes um yeah
