If I could bring one thing to the next gen consoles it wouldn't be more power or more teraflops but just DLSS. That's the real game changer, I don't care about much else tbh.
At this point I don't care anymore. Nvidia deserves all the hype they are receiving. The Ps5 will be a beast but pc wil still outperform by miles.
I literally couldnโt care less about the new PC graphics cards. The PS4 is already incredible, the PS5 is going to be more so. I just want my games to work.
This guy is a bullshit artist fwiw. He takes every little crumb of a rumor he comes across, sprinkles in some just making shit up, and stirs them into a steady stream of rambling YT videos where he throws everything at the wall and points to the bits that stick to say he was right and pretends the rest didnโt happen. Go back and watch his Ampere videos from the past 2-3 months and see how wildly they vary and how they all contradict each other and how the vast majority ended up wrong, and how he points to the few bits that ended up right validated his predictions.
Donโt take him seriously.
Sounds like your spouting BS. I'm firstly a PlayStation fan bit these GPUs will already beat the performance of the PS5. That's just how it is, and it doesn't matter because the PS5 will be cheaper and have tons of great exclusives. According to Digital Foundry, the PS5 is within the performance of a 2070 and a 2070 super. You don't have to try just justify that the PS5 will be more powerful that something like the RTX 3060. The Xbox One X was more powerful than the PS4 Pro and that didn't hurt PlayStation at all because of their catalog of exclusives.
When Nvidia revealed the RTX 30 it seemed to blow anything the next gen consoles had out of the water. 30+ teraflops, RTX I/O similar to the PS5s I/O and so on.
This video by Moore's Law is Dead comes to the conclusion that when looking past the marketing hype RDNA2 still seems promising.
TL;DR PS5 should perform well compared to a rtx 3060
high tflop numbers of RTX 30 look impressive but don't lead to equally high performance. A 10tf PS5 should easily beat a 10tf rtx 30 series card
even just comparing all cherry picked performance benchmarks by Nvidia they fall slightly short of their performance claims. And real world performance might be lower than that.
16gb of GDRR6 in consoles performs well compared to the memory configuration in the 3070
RTX I/O according to this video is not on the same level as PS5s I/O
I don't think its really relevant to talk about the two things side by side. If you planned on putting a new GPU into your system it is unlikely it was choice between that and buying a PS5.
AMD has had disappointing GPU launches in recent history because unlike intel Nvidia has really taken their foot off the gas. But there is of course a world of a difference between console titles and PC titles in terms of optimization that developers can do.
Didnโt watch it. Donโt have to to know that consoles will always be behind PC. That being said. Iโm still getting the Xbox and know that the PS5 is a monster of a machine. This generation of consoles are closer to PC than ever before and perhaps in the future, we will have upgradable modular components for consoles. Until then, PC will always be king. Not hating at all, just stating a fact.
