penalty area one back again going in with andrea [Applause] what's a good thing for a goalkeeper when they can punch away into i suppose you should call it no woman's land [Music] safe areas on the pitch no one's going to do you any damage [Applause] [Music] so i would hope to break a 20 year old record the other day the consecutive minutes without conceding but uh for her the sweden penalty changed all of that fabian are intercepted but then give it straight back to shannon box here's lapel bet who slightly gave sweden their second it was actually uh changed in hindsight to an own goal [Applause] krieger back to solo [Music] [Applause] flick off the defender nearly felt kindly for rodriguez [Applause] all the talk coming into the tournament about martyr and womback potential stars of the tournament and indeed big it prince who's a much publicized press conference rather shook everybody here in germany when she admitted she wasn't in the right frame of mind martyr and womback have delivered here malta with a quite brilliant display against norway when they really unraveled the scandinavians [Music] cristiano is still not moving too freely [Applause] [Applause] hey year but uh she's held on well there barnhart had been covering in some of the warm-up matches for the usa [Applause] necessity having to leave the field just for the time being brilliant has been really interesting looking run diana his own goal after my watch about 75 seconds gave the united states the lead here the ball against shannon box there you go rosanna fabiano not the greatest champions germany knocked out by japan yesterday you would say that these two have to be the favorites now for the tournament at least based on world rankings japan played wonderfully well winners here today will face france in munching clan back on wednesday japan to face sweden [Music] there's a bit of a disadvantage for amy rodriguez not being the tallest [Applause] five minutes to half time [Applause] an early goal for the united states still separates the teams here lloyd just a wriggling free from very tight situation they've given the ball here to mata the last person they want to has been quite outstanding here you wouldn't expect an interest to uh wayne in some of these major matches but there's a yellow card for elena [Music] well the referee showing a yellow card here now is this amnesty after the the end of the quarter finals so if players do have a yellow going into the semis and they pick up another one there then they won't miss the final but here's the reaction of afford another reaction like that fabiano having a go at cheney and lapel bet and uh well a good uh doubling up by the states defensively i just wonder how fractious these brazilian players will be in the circumstances with the pressure they must inevitably feel lapel with a great sliding block there [Applause] rodriguez thought she might have been impeded as she tried to spin around her marker she was replaced by alex morgan in the match against sweden to fabiana [Applause] oh the real coming together injury just uh almost like the dochums at the fairground the way they just bounced off each other here omega quite formidable she's uh not the biggest out there but she's uh compact and muscular and enough to deflect one back away [Applause] [Music] diana with this brazil free-kick in the early stages of the second half interest not the greatest clearance turned back by erika rodriguez goes scampering after it it's not a great first touch major referee being quite particular about christianette for the moment brazil with rosanna moore to the wide left and uh martyr through the middle but they won't find it that way it's a very strange atmosphere here in dresden today the fans only uh getting into this sporadically a little change here for the states coming up megan rapino and that's going to be the cue for the change to be made [Music] and it's a chaney coming off in the first match against a career dpr it was a big call for rapier suntager as to which of these two to play in the open up rapino had played a number of the warm-up games but notably cheney had scored a stoppage time winner in a friendly against mexico but rapino gets her chance here melina's clearance not so great helena who's largely stayed very tight to warm back in the match rapino trying to get into the match but he's turned by fabiana and beaten for pace by fabiana cristiano being held cristiano working well but the pelvic with a toe was such an important toe as well [Applause] it's a match that has captured the imagination of fans of the game all around the world to the super powers in the women's game marina rosanna a really good block by box and uh offside as one back takes it alison flynn the assistant referee on this near side was the balls played that looks as if it's on but again i always think it's uh particularly difficult for the officials when one player is going forward one the other direction and you get this x tight movement scissor type movement to judge the pace mourinho rosanna alina in their head of one back finding mourinho rosanna rosanna who scored that to opening goal for them that match winning goal against australia after that they seem to relax a little bit especially when mata found her stride against norway ball in no sick all the on this near
