Braving the Frozen Mountains - Valheim - New Viking Survival Game

[Music] hello everyone i'm cryptic fox and welcome back to viking purgatory we're here with more valheim tonight i'm gonna see if we can get a little bit of frostbite i'm gonna try and go up to the mountain region where it's all cold and snowy and see if i can freeze all my small bits off welcome everyone who's here in the chat so far or if you're watching on the channel afterwards welcome as start of the stream thank you all very much for the support it's greatly appreciated uh we uh we just finished beating bone mass last time i uh teamed up with nate and we uh smashed this big gooey shape into more gooey shapes uh and i thought it'd be fun to try and go into the other cold regions now i don't really have any actual cold equipment um so it's gonna be cold uh but there is a cold resist potion we can take i'm hoping i could use that uh and go into the cold region without freezing you know all the all my parts off and then uh yeah we can try and get some of the equipment we need to stay warm i think there's like um some wolves and stuff we can kill there that maybe we can make like a like a warm cloak or something out of that will keep us a little bit more toasty when we get into the cold region um now i had found a couple of the mountainy areas there's this one up here that's just north north of where my base is uh there's another one down here and then even farther down there's another one over here but this one seems to be really small it's on the edge of a plane so based on the size of these things i'm kind of leading towards going towards the one that's up north here and seeing what we can find up on that uh hopefully we can get some silver which will open up some more craftable items for us i guess including a cool new bow which would be kind of cool to have but we are gonna need to do a little preparation first before i can get my uh get my metal plated butt off to the frozen areas uh we're gonna have to get the uh the frost resist um potion here which i'm hoping protects against the cold and not just against um cold damage from like weapons we'll see what happens i have blood bags and have dwarf eyes i have enough honey but i don't have our thistles so we're gonna have to go and grab some of those and see how we make out oops uh i should i can't get up my own door let me out my door there we go uh i should actually put some more uh some more wood in our little uh little smelter there or whatever you want to call it the uh like the coal maker the coal machine what are they what they call this thing i can't i don't remember anyway it's for me the charcoal kiln there we go it's the thing for cooking wood in the cool we got that armor looks so cool yeah the metal armor is neat huh it's got like a nice uh nice sheen and stuff to it i think in general they've done they've done a pretty good job with the lighting in this game it makes that kind of stuff look pretty cool um so we have like two places we can look for actually let's shoot this deer while we have a chance um we have two places we can go and look for the uh the thistle i need we can go to the the uh the dark woods black forest whatever it's called or we can go to uh go to the swamps i'm thinking it'll be easier ah oh i got him uh i think it'll be easier if we go into the other black forest not only because it's closer but just because you know it's not swamp swamps kind of a pain in the butt introduce him to my sword all right we're good uh i do actually need to prep some more food and stuff too that might be something else we're gonna want to work on who consumes o2 not not you you're from mars okay well that's great click like you beautiful oxygen consumers yeah so hopefully uh we can find some cool stuff up there we have that wishbone that will ping when we find uh stuff we can dig up so i guess if we use that in the mountain area it will it will uh help us identify um help us identify deposits for silver and then we can dig those up and also that wonderful loot back of this i should bring enough stuff with me that i can make a a gateway so that we can have a way to kind of travel back and forth i can't bring silver through the gateway but at least if i have i have some at least i have a portal that i don't necessarily need to have a uh like a base camp kind of thing you can make do without that definitely want to insulate that armor yeah can you imagine a bunch of iron armor in the freezing cold weather sticking to your skin that'd be great fabulous even hey how you doing i don't know what the respawn rate is on these thistle things but they're not the most fun thing to find i kind of you know i i must say that i wish i had i just made a particular point of collecting them more often when i saw them before i needed them before i had any recipes that would work for this soul i didn't really make a point of picking them up and uh i really think i should have because they're kind of a pain about the collect now make sure you pay attention to the sound of the wishbone yeah it also does these green uh these green line things off you see like you know when it's starting to ping mate and i tested it out the other night we figured out how it works dug up some loot nothing noteworthy but we dug it up anyway show me some glowy thistley goodness could probably do with making some more sausage too meat thistle for that also so we need for both the cold resist potion and the uh or the cold resist meat or whatever and uh and the sausage too did you hear about the valheim plus mod uh no i know that there's some people are starting to put mods out for the game i gather they're not the the developers aren't officially supporting mods at this point probably because the game still in early access and it's just been released but i know there's uh there are some mods that people have been putting out like first person mode and a variety of others not really surprised usually people jump on the modding thing pretty quick let's remind taking two three stacks of wood build cabin up there yeah well yeah that might not be a bad idea i guess so at least we have a place to like uh keep warm i was gonna try to avoid building too much because i don't know how long i'm going to be in any one of the mountains they're the regions don't seem that large at least not the ones i've identified so far so i didn't want to spend a whole bunch of time to like uh make a cabin when i wasn't really going to use it and i heard for the valentine plus one solves the problem with the portals and metal among other things oh i see so like let's uh let's metal go through the portals i'm not really one to mod games too much i generally like to just play them the way they are recognizing that it is a little frustrating you can't take metal through the portals more thistle welcome to gardening simulator 2021 everyone today we're studying herbalism you get this in the swamp too unless they just got some bug spots no you can get it there too i just uh i find that the swamps a bit more of a pain in the butt to go through black forest is a pretty big region so there's a lot lots of area to search and uh you don't have to slog through the water and the rain and all that nastiness so generally if i'm going to hunt for it i usually want to come here you know what i don't think i've gotten yet either is the fishing pole i should make a point of getting one of those eventually pretty sure fish is a pretty good meal to eat in this game oh that's a cliff okay blueberries over here too make more jam can't go wrong with the queen's jam yeah but if you need sausage it's probably worth getting those uh farmed up first yeah well i've got 13 thistles right now uh i need sausages and i also need uh i also need the potion or the other mead and the the frost was just mean i think was like five or six it takes and then i don't remember how many thistles per sausage anyway we'll try to get uh we'll run around here and get as much as we can if i don't think we have enough we can always go to the swamp and try to get some there too i just want to avoid it it's too wet the boots get all soggy stop eating fish after carrot soup all meats to be honest oh really i mean you get a pretty decent amount of hit points if you have um like the meat the sausage and the uh and the queen's jam gets you up to 150 hit points but stamina is a pretty big thing so i think i can't remember what carrot soup provides i don't have it on me right now i remember if carrot soup gives stamina more so than hit points um carrot soup carrot soup jam and sausage stem is life yeah well yeah i mean the more the more you can attack and absorb blocks and stuff the better and running it's all goodness only 18 blueberries we found so far we're doing a search pattern just going back and forth across stamina's life hp is life insurance yeah i missed uh i guess i'll eat a mushroom too more skeletons this is taking more time than i was hoping it would i was uh i did play a little bit in between streams and like gathered up a bunch of wood and stuff because i wanted to uh have materials around to do building and things let's start at least start stockpiling that stuff so we can have to make a decent sized build here we've been making new so far with just our little a little base and a couple of buildings but uh i'd like to make something more substantial eventually yeah i'm making fro the other frost business spots hopefully the uh hopefully they work the way i think they do and they'll protect me from uh cold damage from the environment and not just like cold attacks because otherwise i don't know how to keep my my poor pale butt cheeks from freezing from central over here how can i find blueberries in this kind of quantity they do that's the mountain gateway thing all right perfect yeah i sort of figured that was the case but because i haven't tried it yet i wasn't 100 certain we have to fight a troll hey buddy i think i can parry a boulder yep on this really awkward kill well don't follow me [Applause] [Music] ow it's cheating ah just as i was slashing him now where's my face i wonder why most things you pick up oh there we go pick up just by one being near them but the coins you pretty much have to like either walk directly on top of them or actually choose to pick them up it's kind of weird i don't want to kill the other troll in the cave but we'll leave him alone for now for odin's glory i got him right in the jewels but yeah the mace is funny fighting the trolls with because the uh the power attack on the mace is like this upward swing and so when you're fighting control it like swings right up between the legs sadly it doesn't do all that much damage surprisingly they're uh they're pretty good against blood damage troll farted on me uh you know how long that's gonna take to wash off my armor i'm a viking i dig an old diggy diggy hole i think we got a pretty decent amount of thistle now should be ready to head back i think soon as long as i'm here i'll uh i'll find the remark of the rest of this map area that is an actual song yes it is well sort of stupid skeletons oh i got more of them that was weird i don't remember the uh the skeletons having that bad depth perception maybe it was a one-eyed skeleton he knew i was there he just wasn't sure how far away i think it's actually in the survival game genre this game uh i mean i think that's where they bucket it because uh there is a certain component of survival to it you know you gotta eat gotta build stuff and scrap scavenge resources the way you do in most survival games so it has common elements um it's really more of an adventure game time i guess the exploring and the fighting and like battling bosses and like upgrading weapons and armor and all that kind of stuff it's it's more like a more like an adventure game or like an arpg kind of thing with some survival elements to it i missed come back here let me trim you how does skill progression work does it automatically upgrade as you use different skills or do you get points it automatically upgrades so you have to you have to use the skills so um some people will increase their their combat skills for example by just like going and hitting trees or rocks because um you can't really damage them with normal weapons unless you're holding like an axe axe for a pickaxe so you can you can actually just um increase the skill by just hitting things so like as you punch something for example um you'll earn experience in this here you can see my unarmed is at uh level eight for unarmed and this red bar at the bottom is your progress and experience towards the next level so it's a little more than halfway there so we just like sit and punch a rock for a second that flashing thing and you can see my skill improved unarmed to level nine so as you use the skills it'll increase that that includes like running and jumping and swimming all those things just increase through use all right i got a reasonable haul of stuff i guess we'll go back there was a ability was ready rather it's survival light yeah kind of it's kind of like it's it's survival in the way that minecraft is survival only minecraft um you actually have to eat to stay alive whereas this uh you only eat to boost your your total health pool and your total stamina and cool heel i guess when you're spawning partners a boulder if you're in uh if you're playing multiplayer you can do it by punching other players too as long as pvp is off you won't actually hurt them you'll just punch them a lot and the thistle really stands out tonight that's handy how's it going griffin fox and shadow everyone here having a great time oh jeez you can chat get shot by an arrow i'll hear you understand hold on shoot the tree for a second yeah i'm good it's uh it's almost the end of the week can't complain about that too much right thursday about thursday where i am anyway one more work day left until the weekend this game is actually a meme generator for all those the people killed by trees yeah yeah i like that the trees have physics in the game though it's neat they're weighty when they fall and even weightier when they fall on your head or the head of your friend and then they're both weighty and funny widows are coming out during the day now for me in the beginning they ran away when the sun came up um yeah they they do come out during the day they're just not as they're not as aggressive as they are at night anytime they're they're more much more aggressive they come out more in packs and stuff and i should have been hunting for these things at night they literally glow in the dark there's so much easier to spot see you dear some meat for sausages oh i was like why am i not picking that up this is still dutch to the ground [Music] just have many thistles let's put the blue glowy stuff over here i guess it's kind of everywhere well not everywhere but it never noticed the blue wisps yeah oh hello troll that's okay we can fight trolls they're a bunch of jumps they're not so bad if they don't let them hit you it's they're hitting you that that makes them rough uh i better make sure i got uh room here if i grab more berries i don't want the bones jesus guys you're irritating i was trying to horn into the party yeah just show up uninvited so rude isn't that true of all enemies yeah pretty much if you want to get technical down my road glad to see you in nate what to boss's last stream yeah that was fun i had to get rid of bone mass uh and uh we also went back and did um did the elder last time so then they could get that one octave for enemies too yeah the iron sword is pretty good i like it i don't know what the next level up is maybe they'll be like a silver sword or something because i know silver's using to make some stuff in the game i know what's needed for the uh for the better bow for sure so look here nick here's here's the thing i missed oh i damaged my bridge i don't think i'm in range nope definitely not range of that bench all right i guess it's gonna have to stay damaged let's kill vampires let's plan for the weekend i do not know i'm kind of uh just playing about years ago along right now every quiet the bees are sleeping i think this thing's getting a little damaged yes poor bees no hey buddy i'm walking through my camp like you own the place all right hope again home again um okay i put this box above the door if you didn't see the last stream um we moved all our food up here so that's kind of handy oh i got this wow 70 thistle okay that's a decent chunk now i uh didn't think i got that much that's good and some meat dandelion in here [Music] honey okay we definitely have enough to make the potion now so that's good smash this i got so much troll hide i need to find a use for troll hide like me can i make a troll hide carpet because probably not this is a little little leathery or that maybe it wouldn't be the height of comfort but all right uh i should keep that neck tail because there is a uh there's a mead that uses that so thistle um blood sac grey dwarf eyes sounds like i'm making a witch's brew i have grey dwarf bag of blood um all right there we go this is good more than one of these though accident i wonder if i have uh room to make another fermenter outside crafting fermenter requires bronze which i don't have well that sucks i really haven't been getting copper and stuff lately because i thought i was sort of past that a little bit i need more copper if one copper bar that is not going to accomplish anything okay well we're not making another fermenter right now that sucks oh i want to make sausage too more sausage links man missed on the fourth floor beautiful yeah there's a lot of uh really good ambient uh every weather conditions and stuff they have in this that are really great uh i'm gonna be 19 19 sausages sorry for now um i think i had carrots growing in the yard so we'll go see if those are ready gonna make some carrot soup and i close the door myself again you walk a lot slower with armor the uh iron armor on i swear it's not totally my incompetence it's only partly buying confidence didn't have carrots seems i harvested them all right we'll play more four million copies in three weeks they're doing it right for sure yeah absolutely absolutely they have a runaway hit on their hands oh man it's all the cares right here um okay i have 66 seeds let's plant like another 40 carrots or so yeah whatever little crazy plant 50. yeah they never i mean they sort of they tackled it all the right way i think they uh they didn't focus on the stuff that wasn't super important they made sure that all the stuff that was uh really important to having fun works well and they got a roadmap add more content so there's only like five biomes i think right now um there's like the meadows the black forest the swamp the mountains and the plains there are a couple couple other types that are already out there but they're not finished i think they're supposed to be nine total bosses by the time they're done and uh nine total biomes so there's like one boss for each biome kind of thing it's all pretty fancy i think i'm with that one too close shoot so he's cultivated oh hey stop that i don't know who you think you are but get out of here that was that was the slowest lunge ever big jerk smacking my stuff all right more cool i need uh i'm gonna need more storage so one of the things that i want to make sure that i do when we uh eventually move on building something bigger is having us a proper storage room i've got a decent number of chests here like just for like random collections of things but the more i do the more i gather in the less places i have to put things i don't i don't even have a room for all the heads that we have in my head box embarrassing actually where do we put the elder's head when we got it last time did nate get didn't they keep it maybe did we get the head of the elder i actually don't remember now looks like a mountain on the wall uh i didn't mean to sit there nope no heads darn that's great for decoration yeah well i put walls around my camp period i really haven't bothered around this space because it's so small and they really haven't been doing a whole lot of damage i mean granted when there's a when there's a raid or whatever it's kind of a pain in the butt i'm gonna make some place bigger i will probably just make a moat too as it stands right now a moat is a pretty effective deterrent they don't really have the ability to get across it get another only take some in uh yeah that's true i could but we have to go back we have to go by that way anyway um because that's where the um where the mountain is we're gonna go to smash all this oh i was gonna make carrot soup that's what i wanted to do meat glories meat uh three seeds left over all right anyway uh mushroom soup is this stuff i think that's what i need oh that's it okay it's a character brother later on they'll be troll race rolls at a time that's a fair number it sort of randomizes what's going to attack you i think based on where you are so in the swamp uh when i was right next to the swamp i got attacked by a swamp raid um sitting here in the meadow i've been attacked it's always been the the uh the force guys great wars so i wonder if you only get a troll rate if you happen to be in the black forest or like immediately adjacent to it oh jam integrated by anything in your progression okay well good times okay he's away good now we gotta wait for this stupid thing unfortunately the fermenter kind of takes a while uh i have no idea how long the frost resist is gonna take maybe we will sail at the coast and kill that guy get his head again because you know reasons we've got the time let's just go and see if we can get a little head to put on the wall he's more common to get biome specific mobs and great horses yeah it does seem that way yeah sweet super child you go up in bosses other things will start attacking your face okay great i mean we've defeated three bosses so far there's only two left uh the latest patch that came out today apparently um increases the difficulty of the the last three bosses so like uh bone mass his name motor and whoever the skeleton guy is so we have that to look forward to yeah they all have a warning so it'll be like the forest has come alive and that means that it's going to be the gray dwarfs and the ground is shaking as the trolls uh i can't remember what the skeleton one was i hope somebody watched them first if not our uh our little building there probably stinks really bad put john's up the coast kill ourselves a boss go back go for dinner yes yeah you're right assistant oh shoot you know what i realized i did the same thing i did the other night with nate i don't have the ancient seeds on me i think i actually had nate had them off to check his chest and see if he's got them in there somewhere no i didn't die today fastest boss fight ever next to last night or the other day i can't see i'll get off oops it's not momentum perfect parking job nobody criticized see it's like it never happened okay i don't know if the uh seeds got put back in here nope i'm pretty sure i gave them to nate so that i wouldn't use all them at once uh i lit myself on fire at times oh look i'm taking zero damage fire can't hurt me now man we're impenetrable let's see if nate left him in his chest over here if not we're not killing anything he left his see not know how unsafe that is leave home and leave a fire burning he's got bars of iron in here more bars of iron and i need those no ancient seeds though that sucks it doesn't have tin ore though maybe smell that up for him and he's gonna copper let's take that too just we'll call this shopping at nate's house it's fine there we go fixed it you don't have any processable items lies there we go rubble the wood stove no qualms into leaving a fire burning at home all winter well a wood stove is different an an open fire pit is kind of a bit of a different story the wood stove at least says the door that closes off you know it's got it's got some protection for it there uh okay i actually have enough to make some bronze only like two bars over though i can't remember i wanted that but let's throw that in there hello from new zealand grippy fox well hello in new zealand repeat on nate's front door would change the sign that's so foxy well yeah what can i say i don't uh i haven't had enough to drink yet i don't feel the need i don't know if you'll notice the next time he joins no maybe you mean the sign i'm hoping it takes him a little bit to spot it need better fire physics yeah that's one thing that would be nice to have it'd be nice if the like fire could spread like maybe not go crazy but if it could spread a bit that'd be kind of neat like in the planes if you like fire like shoot a fire arrow or something and miss like a little fire in the grass oh my god you missed the first 40 minutes of the stream you missed all of the gardening that was the most exciting part and the first while we ran around through the uh to the black forest just gathering up berries and thistle because i'm gonna need it uh to go into the mountain area we haven't gone there yet so we haven't missed anything that way at least now we're waiting for our uh our frost resist mead to uh ferment so that we can not get frozen i guess it's the objective fox's latrine would be the best words for that sign there we go boxes latrine no flushing required you should put up signs all over the camp patrolling nate maybe when we do our uh when we do our bigger build i'll make us a specific area just for nate and we'll fill it with all the the troll signs or something i was about to go there you killed bone mass last night nice yeah we just killed him uh last night i played grounded i guess it was the night before last uh nate and i killed him apparently they made bone mass a little bit harder with the update today i don't know how much harder i don't i wasn't really clear on uh how significant the change was behind a ward stone on the ground you won't be able to open the door that only works when you're in pvp though doesn't it what i should do is uh break a wall go into his house build a chest immediately behind the door so the door won't open and then uh leave and rebuild the wall that way oh did i break the wrong wall i did see i should have some wood in here i think no i actually used it all uh all right that would then am i trying to use some firearm in his house yet no i haven't okay eight hopefully it will let me build a chest behind the door i don't know if it will i also don't know if it'll clip through the it actually might clip through the chest wait i wonder if i can build uh i wonder if i could build a wall where the door is so that even if the door opens the wall will be in the way i totally can there we go all right perfect not that he can't break his way in but it should be interesting when he comes up and opens the door perfect like i said he'll be able to be able to break the wall so it's not like it's gonna keep him out or anything but it'll be funny the first time he goes to open the door oh he'll actually spawn inside of his own building so it might ruin the whole thing but can we put one of those leeches underneath's bed i wish all right well while we're waiting i guess i'll go uh i'll go chop some wood um i should put my little gardening tool back here i don't need to hold on to this thing all the time go hack some trees down uh because we gotta wait for that stupid thing to finish fermenting there's no way we can go into the uh cold area without some kind of frost protection build a wall outside yeah i should actually cause i'm fairly certain when he spawns in he'll spawn inside of his uh inside of his house oh look at that stamina bar now get a pig to follow you in and trap it inside somebody spawns in the pig attacks him we won't even give it a mushroom we'll just leave it angry in there the spawn in where he logged out yeah which is inside his building i think i'm fairly certain that's where he was anyway 100 certain but fairly certain this is where i've been logging lately to gather wood supplies and it's not taking long to start like deforesting the this whole place this was all this was all solid trees in here before this boat is pretty quick the name the pig nate i don't know i don't know if you can't name the pigs no the trees don't grow back um you have seeds you can plant for some of the trees like if you cultivate soil and plant the seed you can plant uh pine trees fur trees beech trees um you can't you can't plant uh perch trees unfortunately but you do beat chiles just no fine wood trees ah somebody fell on them [Applause] [Music] the hazardous job migraine free excellent glad you're feeling better just realizing my co-driver is saying through california trying to get out of the state asap because he can't find a tail light bulb so i'm rotting dirty i'm super confused you're trying to get out of the state of california because you can't find a [Music] lightbulb oh we're full california is tricked on road loss well sure but you have to get out of california only just because of a light bulb i mean i've heard people leaving because of taxes but that's uh that's really stretching it there's no way doing how about those mountains we haven't gotten there yet i'm actually in the process of brewing uh cold resist uh mead so that we can go into the mountains and not freeze our butt off but it takes a while for it to brew so i'm just um smashing some trees in the meantime i think that's a birch tree over here yeah let's get this thing get more fine wood back at home it's got the price the price to pay to live in a place that has beautiful weather all the time yeah we'll park up and wait till daylight and that would work too or just like replace the bulb it's a pretty small birch tree would jump down oh it still hurts though and i tried to pull the uh cart through the gate with them yeah i used to be able to do that actually uh they took it away when people people were trying to use uh i think it just automatically drops it off behind you when you go through wait you know what forget chop in the trees we could just roll other trees down on top of the trees that do the work for us well didn't entirely work [Applause] california will take you your lights don't work well parked yeah but if it's if it's uh if it's night time and your car's not on the lights aren't on either so there's nothing to ticket now and if it's in the if you wait till daytime then the lights aren't on either unless it's like a taillight like a brake light or something and then then you just got issues yeah i thought that's what you were saying get out of here all right let's go see how things are at home again ow you jerk get out of here maybe i'll pick up the wickets over here since i already jumped it carts getting heavy hard to move this california we're talking about the state's ridiculous about the boss i guess i've never been there so i i don't know from firsthand experience weird al is the best okay julian with a super chat box he's a trucker so semis have different oh it's a semi okay uh regulated by fm csa the government so it's uh more strict and they get fined a lot uh i see that's what that's what i was missing i missed the fact that it was a truck you can see that being more of a problem don't listen to fun the fox until it wasn't you'll get a ticket so here's what you do break all the lights and say it was vandalism yeah sorry i can't i just i did miss those i've been in a while how's it going hey lego bean not bad getting our viking on smashing stuff doing other things need more wood uh sure get some sleep see how our uh see our meat is progressing here apart light goes oh well park not allowed to move till it's fixed the part's not available here at all good times technically that's not lying either it's just vandals and broke all the lights just your own vandalism that's right it's genius i don't think it'll help you in the slightest but look at this way you'll get to spend more money on lights and end tickets sounds like something's hitting my stuff who's out here maybe it was the pig that you pig here have some mushrooms who's a good pig okay funny acquired oh uh did i say it was still fermenting i didn't check still fermenting god i need i i desperately need to make more of these things that's that's what we really need uh crafting that takes five bronze i think i only had what three two yeah even fewer perfect uh i've got a decent number of arrows so i don't worry about making any more of those to go with me i have to start upgrading using better arrows soon i guess i really need to spend some time gathering metal i just don't want to do it on stream because it's kind of not super exciting what are you scared about i'm down pig there's not even anything to be afraid now it's pushing me around there's not even anything to be afraid of over let's here if we can get nate's place sorted here okay leave the door open let's go find a pig i wonder i wonder if the pig will smash the stuff in nate's room there's a deer that won't work ah these deer are supplies surprisingly elusive didn't run fast enough dear should have kept ducking and weaving where all the pigs go i think i might have hunted this place clear i'm pigs put one of these guys in there i don't think i'd be able to get him in there the way pig would follow me map we're gonna check out is this one here i don't know how big the region is but uh we'll park sort of a little off the side actually maybe we'll park over by the elder cause we got the house there i can set my spawn point over there that way if we happen to die and maybe i'll build the portal there too which won't really matter since i didn't think to change that rat i forgot to rename the portal here oh well we got a boat yep should have made a new portal you're right or just renamed the one that's okay like i said we have the boat anyway if we do get any silver we're gonna have to uh we're gonna have to haul it back by boat we can't take it through the portal anyway yeah i'm chronic forgetting the whole portal thing it's that massive skills control both the size of your own that's right i am super skilled thank you for acknowledging it only the most skilled vikings here forgetful ones but skills let's get a few pieces of silver make sure to get yourself one uh one of the capes wolf slash locks to protect you against frost so don't spend a lot of research on crossbows yeah that's the that's the idea what i mean i want to explore and see what we find um i guess we'll have to kill some wolves i don't know what the locks is but uh yeah that too i need to build one at home for reasons yeah i really should just have one that's like just my standard temporary one so then i can like throw down the portal go through to do what i need to do come back go break it down and continue yeah i know we get them in it's okay if we only have a single up arrow then you kind of like roll with the ore or the uh the rudder or whatever so it still goes but it's not as fast [Music] somebody can't reset nate's spawn point to the planes make like build a house out there that looks exactly the same as his on the inside so when he steps out he's just like totally confused i wish he could do that you can't relocate a player that way then when they're not in the game it's possible with shields on the side of the boat uh it's not um there was a version of this boat in um when they were doing the alpha testing and stuff that had the shields up the sides of it so you might have seen pictures of it they changed the boat for launch i think there's one of the updates that they have in their road map is to make it so you can do more boat customization and hopefully there'll be stuff we can do there but um yeah for right now you can't build a wall in front of his house so when he opens the door it's just a wall in front that's what it did we put it in front of his door so when he spawns inside and opens the door it'll just be a wall there what's the difference between canada and bc canada um it's all canada although in bc because it's on the uh the western side of the rockies it doesn't tend to get the same kind of cold winter weather that we get east of the rockies otherwise it's canada yeah yeah you missed that part we tried building on the inside first and then i realized he's gonna spawn inside um so instead we had to build it outside turn the wall outside his base into a maze and you see us well he could just switch to a hammer and smash his way out [Music] represent tame wolves well we will eventually but uh my first step is to explore i haven't been in the cold region aside from like just walking into the edge of it so step one is let's see what we can see and find some silver first and then uh we'll worry about other things i should put this on so we can find that fancy silver although it really hammers my uh only hammers my carrying ability it's so weak now plan to build a castle eventually i'm gonna build a big base yeah i want to do a bunch of building there's uh with all the different biomes and stuff it'd be nice to have a variety of things made like something on a mountaintop and something out in the water maybe a tree base would be kind of cool it's like wind in my face the whole way this sucks this is the fastest boat too doesn't go very fast when you're in first gear yeah i do want to do a bunch of building i've just been mostly exploring and stuff so far kind of snowing here in bc where i am yeah but kind of snowing in bc is like hey look there's some flakes love a volcano biome they're supposed to have like nine of them i think so there's um right now they have like the meadows the black forest the swamp the plains and the mountains um but there's also like the mist lands or something like that but it's not a finished biome there's nothing there it's just empty [Music] and i think there's one other one too that's already there i think they said they're supposed to be like nine when they're done what's my strategy in planes uh to show up and see what happens i haven't been there before and i haven't really been watching other people playing the planes too much aside from building so i know they have like those goblin guys there i have to watch out for and there's those big creature things that are kind of like the one that's with the traitor so those are there and the death skeetos are brutal so um shoot death skeetos before they get me and just try to cope with the rest of it i guess you like to see spiders no no spiders spiders although it would make for a pretty cool biome it looks so fun i wish i could afford it it's uh yeah i mean it is one of the cheaper games but i guess if you don't have the the money then that uh that doesn't make it unattainable regardless of the price fox eight youtube gold oh my god i can't even see i'm gonna crash into the shore where did i you know i didn't even want to make sure that i've at least got things to fight with so that this time if the wolves decide they're going to eat me i can at least put up some form of resistance make some sausage carrot soup how am i messing with the sausages here oh the thistle i'm grabbing a thistle good old sausages actually maybe i should go for maximum hit points instead of maximum stamina and maybe i'll cook meat so i get up to 150 hit points i should do for the food there can't fire me oh i should make more that's uh more than frost meat too uh was this and honey and grey dwarf eyes right oh blood bag too so we'll get another one of these brewings worst case scenario we can come back and get it later i don't want to wait around for it because it takes forever oh and i'll make a cloak while i'm waiting here too i guess since we have a ton of troll leather troll hot cape it's not much but it's ours okay so we have basic supplies anyway something it's not a lot but it's something has anyone seen loki or thor in the game yet uh no i don't imagine we will see them whatever is my good set iron tier four no i don't even have my iron up to tier four yet it's only uh i'm not gonna worry about the bow just yet although actually if i have to fight a drake that's probably worth having a bow for um let's see i'll make a fine wood bow maybe they have core wood and fine wood and leather scraps as well no deer hide find one bow acquired it's not gonna be as good as the bow that i have because i have the other one upgraded but at least it's something let's go away i need this and flint and some arrows there's some feathers around here that way if we get messed up uh 20 arrows all right well it's not much but whatever if a drake messes with us at least we'll have something we could shoot back need to get silver uh and it's not exactly forthcoming which is just great notice the biome needs to be big enough uh for the silver to spawn i mean i thought it was big enough it's a fairly decent sized biome but i haven't had a really big mountain biome yet that i've seen this one's not huge but it's uh it's not tiny anyway we're not having any luck i guess uh i guess i'll bail out of here go check the next cold biome it's kind of why i didn't want to like take the time to build something up here first was only because i didn't want this type of situation where i'm ready to move on already vulnerable to pickaxes i mean it makes sense that's what i was using to fight it but uh i need to i need to be prepared with uh like some some healing potions or something because when he hits me it really hurts it's a regular rock well that was fun he heals faster than you heard him hooray well i i don't know that he was really healing much but i definitely wasn't uh wasn't much danger to him that's for sure if you use a ring a special ring to lure it into the volcano to kill the golem oh yes one ring to rule them all right let's go try a different cold biome because this one was a bit of a dud no blueberries i like blueberries carrot seeds yeah wiki we don't need no stinking wiki i learned by blocking with my face i'm going to kill that golem only with barnaan eggs so with that obsidian that i got uh i can make obsidian arrows i wonder if uh i wonder how significant of an upgrade they are versus the ones i'm using now make the walk on a forge and then smelt it yeah you can't upgrade the pickaxe so it would do more damage uh let's see i'm gonna want this cold potion if i'm going somewhere else i also want my jam that's to have my jam um here with these bones all right i had another cold potion or cold um cold meat rather fermenting too so hopefully it's ready see there was your best friend yes dragonglass yeah put teeth on the pickaxe to upgrade it i don't like the surface so you never really get to make like a cave channel your inner dwarf definitely need to build in the stone up here bc's be nasty yeah i guess building in the side of the cave would be real this time for the mountain would be alright carrying too much uh goodbye by stone i think we've almost depleted the silver ore already unless there's a sizable deposit the same way there is with significantly bigger than i was expecting i want to see what else is up here kind of like to put the wishbone back on but oh i'm freezing uh it's a might bit chilly this mountain peak is crazy i'm so that says cryptic was here all right we're out of the danger i kill skeletons to feel powerful again mountain mudslide no box just got scared that's right that's how that goes uh i don't have room for this need some thistle as long as we're here okay so hopefully now that we have the silver if we can get that smelted uh maybe i can make a cloak and they don't have to worry about having uh the potions anymore maybe i could even make a backup cloak so that when i inevitably die because i know i'm going to i'll have cloak i can put on to go get my body my buddy fox trail that's right i am trying to go home i've got to like i've got to get to the shore where my boat is parked so i can sail home because i can't take the portal with the with the silver on me and i hear troll was there no boat there did i no that'll be so bad if there's not then i'll have to like go through the portal and bring a boat back i guess can you upgrade portals to allow silver no i thought i had a boat parked on the shore but i mean maybe i didn't leave it there i don't know what a spinny move there's a boat see that i left a few boats around oh ye of little faith i thought they had a boat hey look i got a deer here too how many boats did it make uh i don't know four some of that maybe five see i decided that i was gonna leave it oh come on jerk i decided i was gonna leave it here because i figured if i come through the portal i'm gonna want a way to get around it turns out it was a good idea this process of bringing silver back this way is gonna be kind of a nuisance though especially since i'm gonna turn around and go right against the wind it's gonna be slower than walking uh maybe a little less this time because the the black forest is really hilly and it's a long way like we're down here i have to get all the way up to here all the way up to here uh but it is already after midnight so i think i'm gonna call it a rapper tonight while i sail my way home and try to make myself some uh some silver bars and stuff when we come back next time we'll see what we can make out of that silver hopefully get some decent upgrades and i'd kind of like to try to build something at the top of that top of that mountain if i can assuming i can get some winter gear because uh it just looks really cool up there pretty awesome view um just about to find some more drake eggs and stuff too because we've only got one one that we know the location of so far and want to find more i guess before we get to the point of summoning the boss but uh it may not have been uh the most graceful night
