you got your bow we'll be all right figure it out so we can get things figured out real quick he said our skin's going to melt off though it's supposed to be really hot yeah sorry yeah the hugs are pretty bad too yes did you guys bring thermostats yeah we got one couple we got you guys got a bunch of bugs great too it's a little game of tetris [Music] dexter okay be good listen to mom starting a timer if he starts that timer right now it's going to go off at 3 o'clock in the morning at places to put food water hell he's strutting boys how is it it's good we're good you ready yep bed down for the night guys been going to planet fitness a little bit he just walked around with his chest out like that yeah so on your muscles would breakfast nugs for the morning that's why you're not saying anything didn't say anything jake doesn't complain about things very often but he's complained at least five times already on the drive down here that it's really really hot million and it's only gonna be hotter because it's supposed to be 95 degrees down there where we're at ranch's words for the bugs were one word epic he said that mosquitoes were epic this year he told me he broke his record and caught one five one swat just grabbed five out of there what are you dreading about kyle knitting about ted's wearing his sunglasses the whole night yeah you guys can't see it but he's had his sunglasses on for the last two hours how does that get kitten baseball that you're playing under the lights in the dark and he's still at his sunglasses sun doesn't set on cool boys welcome home it smells like some cigarettes might been smoked here one time 11 11 is it what are you gonna wish for a couple hogs i can't tell you kenny said we said he'd like some pork oh you missed it oh no i didn't jacob get us started here with something you don't need that your wisdom teeth i don't have any woods and teeth me neither here the holes where they took them out going back to texas today gonna be at troy's ranch about three four o'clock this afternoon should get there just in time to get out and do some hunting tonight so jake's afraid of the heat but he's got his yogurt over there he's doing all right this morning yeah don't forget your food your continental breakfast ted yeah that's breakfast cocktail breakfast shoot some pigs excited to get your first one i got my first one last winter in georgia oh yeah that's right me and gooch and greg shot a big fat sow down there yeah there's texas big rather yeah my first texas pig since i did well that was just a gun too so that didn't really count i guess it's not troy seems very optimistic about things he usually is he is he's very optimistic do you think they're going to be coming to those corn feeders then oh yeah oh yeah he texted me a couple weeks ago he's like feeders are full boys they're spinning yeah that's probably a good thing to do it's pretty hot out there how much further hayden one mile yeah i gotta get off here we're pulling into the range ranch what'd you think about that whataburger on the way over here pretty good i thought it was all right i thought it was mighty fine myself it is greener isn't it oh yeah and warmer yep there she is i don't see no pulse there she goes yep what's up he's awake oh i'm naked i should have my one sided thong on howdy good to see you again man cut your hair that's fantastic to see you good to meet him good to see you bud good yes all right it's wet it's a little different you said oh it's yeah i'm driving in we're gonna see any water and this year it's like water you're gonna have a great time actually two weeks ago i was here the mosquitoes were get out of the car a week when i came last saturday just to make sure everything was right and they were about 50 of that and it hasn't rained since oh no it rained there's a deer blind check this out so you see that deer blind over there by the pump house yeah it was right there saturday oh wow it's gone i thought somebody had put it out no it's over there so when you're a ranch fairy that's the stuff you want you roll into camp there's a dead cow in the middle yard or is that what the tracks are under the yeah there's towel tracks yeah this is the goal one dumb pig i tied one up you got nervous for the war they doubled you doubled chris murdered one yeah so that means you're going to kill the giant because you've never been here yes if ted if if thomas would hear he would say it's going to beat you in last year y'all got the luck y'all got this sweet treatment no bugs dry we drove the truck out in the pasture you and i did no no to the friend yeah so let's unload your stuff and get the sling in the view and shoot the silver part that's why it's in the on there pigs have a very small kill zone that's why a lot of times it's lower than you would very low super low yeah that'll do it that'll do it wait about two minutes and go pick up your pig yeah probably go track them around it's no fun and with the mosquito level this year i hope nobody shoots when it goes further than last year because we didn't have one go more in about what 50 last year yeah that would be ideal if we go into the thick stuff like you and i did last year with the minute you're going to that thick stuff oh it's going to be the mosquito level is really good here it's it's unbelievable actually we need to make sure every broadhead is super if they're not touched up we need to make sure they are because they are going to be muddy they're going to be covered in sand and i don't hit that one with a strop but you can check it real quick that one should be i haven't i like i've just sharpened it that one's nasty almost perfect yeah well i kind of i started to figure out that cardboard thing a little bit better you know your poor man's leather strop if you will yeah that's correct works fine that one's slick and the thing about um that's misleading about broadheads and i've been talking to a lot of broadhead companies when these things are stropped out the edge is so smooth it doesn't feel sharp so a lot of people associate sharp with feeling that drag on your finger and that is not that that's the bird right you do not want the burr you want it to be scary sharp so what yeah if you do that you can actually feel it bite into your skin a little better okay so on a dry finger it just feels like nothing but this thing is terrifyingly clean and so what happened is it's like having a dull saw blade on a piece of wood and you cut it and and right on the bevel if you're cutting 45s or something working in your house doing trim and the blades dull the end gets hairy it's just like that but it's microscopic well arteries and veins and all the really good stuff is microscopic so what happens is that stuff gets filled with fat those little burrs get filled with fat and it caulks the edge and it makes it dull because it's full of goo especially on these guys and like i said they're going to be wet you're going to see you probably should see a lot of wet ones and they're going to be covered in dirt so it's going to just chew broadheads up on impact so they we just we want to make sure that you always do want them sharp got that but it's really serious right [Music] now [Music] so [Music] uh or the string i always do this when i'm sitting in the saddle and the tree i just pop one out so it's already pretty much ready it's a good idea you're not well so you can just grab her makes it quicker especially with these pigs because you can shoot as many as you possibly could imagine it's smart thinking jacob that'll work if you don't get about it pretty good the whole group came from over in there last year and that's where they ran one shot them too i mean that's what he said they're probably going to do this right there just came also and i looked up and they were kind of coming out of there it's just like as soon as you see them they're coming they're feeding and coming fast but the biggest thing troy said last year's just i mean they're gonna stay for a long time unless the wind swirls or something so just wait for a good yeah yeah i'm not waiting for the big one i'm just gonna shoot the first thing that comes out really there's a big one right there jake two of them so so oh so so [Applause] so [Applause] one [Music] ah good i think so i thought you're gonna get two i thought so too so i'm stopped grab that air that's right there oh man yeah once i saw there here like immediately i don't know if that is a big one or not but someone has a perfect size eater i think yeah i saw it i was like oh god that thing's here i'm thinking a little bit [Applause] i kept filming the broadhead right at the end really makes it just away that was cool i thought she might just pass out right there she wheeled around and looked around like what happened yeah which they oftentimes do with these setups seems like yeah did she run to the right there after she went right there yeah it looked like it was either a little higher a little forward we only looked at the footage a couple times so probably look at it again when we get back but that's what could happened probably hit that offside line yeah there's that front lawn all right kill zones that big yeah straight line to where our last flood was was 300 yards yeah and it was a big bag i don't know if he hit both lungs i wouldn't think it would go that far right no which would you want it that way yeah back south it's already going that way straight used to here how long it would have gone no more than a hundred barnett's here behold the rocket man hey guys rocky man now we're all going to get smarter he's going to force it on us i see the video content has already meet you good to meet you all right we're doing a sadness video right now did we not get anything last time no we got shots bad part of it so here we go again you're fine to be in it yeah all right so we're back at the ranch now uh jake and i tracked that pig for a couple hours last night about three to four hundred yards initially we thought the shot was pretty good we reviewed the footage a little more and seemed to be a little high and forward we had pretty consistent blood the whole time but it was never anything there wasn't a lot of blood but there was consistent walking blood and eventually ran out towards the end so we came back reviewed the footage and talking with troy it seems like i may have hit right about in this area above the vitals so we're thinking it was just a flesh wound and that the pig will likely survive so it's got a great chance of survival so this diagram is pretty accurate for pig physiology pigs are stupid and annoying at the way they're built and they have a very very tiny uh their heart and their lungs are very small the pig you shot last night the lungs were not much bigger than my hand so if you make a little bit of an error on them the good thing about them is they're super durable the bad thing about them is it just doesn't kill them right and then you'll hit one down here and it'll go 47 yards and you'll giggle just like the one you shot last year jake when you shot and blood was coming out of it that's what you keep saying you got to aim way lower than you it's just really important we saw that shot last night and on a deer like you hit right there yeah but right above mid body right from an elevated position it's like yeah they're they're not going very far you're gonna torch the pigs i mean vertically in the center is the top of the lungs if you cut the pig in half horizontally right up the leg the very top of the lungs is on that line and everything else is below it and really far forward so they're just a shot placement nightmare and you just this is what happens like i don't know how many brazilian pigs i've helped people should kill with a bow and arrow you're just used to shooting in a certain spot and what happens is you go into auto mode when you draw and you say man this has worked the other 40 times i've shot a deer and you're just got to take half a second and they're just physiologically strange animals the good thing about them is that pig's fine and what were you saying about their lungs too how they're they got six chambers or something right there so most lungs have five lobes pigs just to be pigs they have a sixth lobe right in the middle it's about that big as tiny but nonetheless it's a physiologic difference so one thing that's interesting about lungs that most people don't realize is there are multiple lobes so if you one lobe one lung an animal you've collapsed one lobe and fiber going and it just it doesn't pop like a balloon lungs have structure so they collapse but they don't pop so if you if you one lung a deer and you only hit one lobe and it's back five are working for a certain amount of time and if they get to running they can go a long way and you you won't have a very decent blood trail or whatever because you've obviously had a weird shot if it didn't double lunge or whatever and that's some of the challenges this stupid game not to mention these silly things are on on point they drop every time so i really think my shoot stupid low solution is they're gonna jump you anyway so where we talked about last night of shooting way down here and go straight up the leg and there's a little elbow right there and aim at that it will never be there you'll hit them here because they're going to drop and they're going to spin and do all kind of stuff so it's it's a pretty common thing but that pig's going to be fine yeah they seem like tough animals right so next time when it comes out it'll say hayden on the side just to make fun of you hopefully there's like an a right here to aim at right a hayden right here that would be handy so yeah we'll keep going yep it'll be fine lessons learned he'll be fine he's gonna back after tonight we're about to get our brain blown out by yeah here comes this smart guy i don't know what y'all are talking about i'm just happy to be here [Music] [Applause] um [Music] so [Music] so all right guys it's 7 50 and this feeder that i'm sitting on is supposed to go off at eight so about 10 minutes till it goes off [Music] i'm pretty excited but there's a bunch of fresh mud around the feeder you can see where the mud's been splashed up on the grass within the last probably yesterday warp and ranchview are back behind me they're set up they've been set up for a while their feeder went off at 7. so jake and thomas are cursing around on the buggy i can hear them right now cruising around they're just going back and forth between a couple of feeders checking them throughout the night so that's what they did last year jake ended up shooting that one right in the chest so they're trying that again for the last night and hayden is also up by himself and rocketman is out front where i killed those two pigs last year he's sitting out there with his arrow gun so hopefully between all the crews we can kill him tonight [Music] [Music] how's the carne it is i'm putting carnage on the carne there you go that's good stuff so you see that i actually shot some video of the tune i shot the video from the gopro on the on the two deer just for grins i don't know if you wanted to see the coot was it night vision yeah oh that's pretty cool black and white sharp as sharp as attack you can see it you can read the lettering on the on the feeder at night and it looks good so i shot about maybe 20 seconds of video of that just to show you you can see it sweet get you guys lined up for doing some night hunting when you get back i'm hooked i mean i was the first time i turned that on i'm like there's a [ __ ] out there i didn't know he was out there i couldn't see him i could not even with the lights on it's like the lights have a big donut around the and once the animal gets inside you can't really see it but i turned that night vision on him and he was over washing that washing that corn flipping it around playing like he was the cat daddy well that's gonna wrap it up for our trip don't be sad i don't really know what to tell you guys other than we just totally failed at all things pig honey in the last three days but julio's corn chips are really they're the best so we found that out yeah we were 100 [Laughter] yeah we've eaten eight or nine pounds of miss fowler's carne asada steak yeah right so it was pretty funny we didn't starve to death we learned a lot we laughed a lot we didn't know we laughed a lot we had a great time yeah so what a great time it was you guys are all right jake conducted some of his finer science experiments yeah right i got some really good footage tonight actually we'll cut i'm pretty proud of that this might be my favorite clip i've ever filmed [Music] or science i mean there's probably some science involved we'll show it to you later we'll see what you think oh my goodness i don't even know what that is well there was some y'all and some roll we definitely learned a lot it seems like on the trip about how not to shoot pigs i guess they're one of the more difficult critters on the planet to get used to shooting they ought to have more respect than they do honestly because they are so tough i mean you guys have shot elk you've shot mule deer you've shot all kinds of animals you come down here and the pig kind of anatomy of a pig is a lot is a totally different ball game and we we killed them last year but this year not the case we had our opportunities trying to get rid of as many of them as we can we did not help the problem oh yeah the feral hit the feral hog problem in the south well then as thomas put it you'll just have to come back and get your redemption the redemption tour we hope too long as you'll let us come back yeah right every time you shoot the gel it's not a homogeneous blob but it's compromised just let that sit out there me and the rocket man will explain that one of these days so thanks for watching i don't even know how to spell homogeneous yeah it's not like so we'll see you
