Boulder Opal Mining Koroit 2020

[Music] well here we are back in court 2020 in complete isolation we're about to take a five meter extension of the entire eastern side of the pit some 60 meters in lengths now after we complete that task all of the mullet that you see stacked up on that side will be pushed back into the pit and restoration works will begin on that end of it we're going to continue mining towards the south and you'll see some of that happening later on in this video so let's have a look down the hole here at the face so here we are in the pit and there's the open level you've got that yellowy pinky sandstone sitting on top of a grey clay that's that margin between where you can see the iron stone build up and the boulders forming something interesting we have opal in that Boulder see that and this whole this is a boulder sitting in the wall there there's one that's broken open there's a whole nest of them right there red material in it and very nice solid bars that's a solid piece of Boulder the little section of [Applause] in that shock the uncle level between the pinks and we've been corning I believe the father that might link up with this one as much as they found which we don't know what they left Quinta shaft you can see some tree routine down into it it's kind of nearly all filled up and that's the Opel level there's a boulder just there sticking out level drops this side you can see the purple clay coming in remnants of a boulder that we pulled out there's one right down here in the corner and I don't know if you can see there's a bit of opal showing in that one [Music] [Music] so once we've taking the sandstone off the top there's the open level we've loosened it with the teeth of the excavator now it's time to extract the boulders here comes one now now just take the clay off it you can hear it ring [Music] [Applause] [Music]
