BORA BORA | Four seasons vs Conrad

[Music] [Applause] [Music] all right you guys i wanted to do a video because i am getting inundated with this question and i think it is the best question ever it makes me so happy because the last thing i wanted to do while i was here was film another travel vlog like i feel like anybody can do that you basically just follow me around i hold the camera although exciting i wanted to do that in a more segmented way so we're gonna go swimming with the sharks we're gonna do a room tour today you guys wanted to know how i stay healthy and fit on vacation so like i did a bunch of different vlogs andre's showering right now hopefully you don't this could be a really exciting video in the background this just got spicy hopefully you don't see anything back there so the question that i kept getting was which hotel between the two that you've stayed at so we stayed at two of the most popular hotels not just in bora bora and tahiti all together so we stayed at the four seasons for the past week and then we transferred over to the conrad we've been here for the last four days so i'm able to make a sound decision on which one is better so i wanted to take you through that but first what i wanted to do was take you through a room tour of each i've done a lot of house tours in my day i love architecture it's what i studied that's really where the love of sharing that comes from and i know you guys know that it's never about boasting or showing all the things that i have or the hotel that i'm in i love the design and sharing the layout of stuff with you guys it's just a passion of mine so but i feel like you guys know that um so what i did is i filmed a full room tour at the four seasons while we were there and very comparable to the room that we're in now so both were over water bungalows so i want to take you through both of those we're gonna start with the four seasons we're gonna hop over to the conrad and then i wanna come back here and talk to you about the pros and cons of both hotels and give you my ultimate decision on if you're coming here which one you should stay at so if that's something you want to see then just keep watching all right you guys i am going to show you the over water villa at the four seasons now so listen when you come in there's like this little area in front of your hut our view was looking at the mountain you can kind of see the clouds above it wild and all the huts look like this there's some at the end as well here that have some pools on them so we were in unit 408 so when you come into the unit the ceilings are really high you can have the fan going the ac is blasting in here there is a lot of people that think that there's no tvs in the room there is tvs in the room i think maybe in the past there wasn't but in here there's a little living room area so we're fully living in here right now so our things are out tip you can get flower crowns made for 75 dollars at the front desk so over the past couple days i've had a couple made this is a necklace and then this one was just delivered as a gift so there's cool things that you can do there's pretty much nothing you can't ask for they will do everything and they're so sweet so on here you've got some cocktails this these cookies were a gift scent but these are so good so be warned they're not free but they are very delicious you can go get some ice nearby so there's some little snacks and everything and then there is a nespresso machine in the room which we've been using and then we just used this little area as like our computer area to work a little bit we set up our stuff i've got my planner over here and then the ice bucket there's a martini shaker in the room which is awesome so we have fully utilized this room andre had a nap on this couch we worked a little bit and there is windows from all angles but there is blinds as well but there's like all these shell details so you really have a lot of light and every window in the front has shutter so there's total privacy and just the finishes and everything are so beautiful so going this way you've got like the bath area and the washroom and it will take you outside at the end so the view outside is just insane in the color of the water and everything and you're actually really sheltered under here like we ate breakfast under this area you can order room service they have pillows and extra towels out there for you so it's really quite lovely so then when you turn the corner this is the bath area and i'm gonna show you something really cool so you can unlock these doors and it opens right up to the outside and you can pour yourself a bath looking out at everything so you're in total privacy there's just a private beach on the other side that nobody can see you so you can have your bath in the open air it's amazing and then you've got some robes here and then they set you up with this little area i've gotten a couple new ones of these little loofah type pads the soap smells so good it's a jasmine and mint soap i know details but i want to give you all of the information fresh towels are constantly coming in so this is like the his and hers sinks there's two different sinks on either side so i've been getting ready here you can see my makeup setup which they also helped me set up which was they're very sweet and you can close the doors in here too so there's like these sliding glass doors so you've got a ton of drawer space in here one thing that i will tell you that might be helpful is they have a really good hair dryer here it's not like a crappy one but if you do bring your own hair dryers make sure that it has the extender like the different extender like the european one maybe just use the one in the room like i wish that i wouldn't even brought mine because i'm too scared to blow the fuse on mine but everything's really spacious there is a makeup mirror the mirrors themselves actually light up i will show you what that looks like so there's like this i guess ring light around the mirrors so to get ready to do your makeup super helpful they provide tons of fresh towels every soap and lotion is brought to you in these glass jars so very very pretty so this is the shower room and then you've got all of these panels in the floor that look right down into the ocean you have two more robes like more like kimono style right here with a big floor-length mirror so if you need to take pictures or selfies or just check your outfit you're good and then the other glass door here is exactly the same as the other side but this is the toilet room and then in here there is another area so there's all these little bamboo details and you look just straight down into the water it's so so pretty they have like little floor mats everywhere it's super comfortable amazing so in here there is actually the rainfall shower head up there and then the handheld shower head in here it's a really big shower like the whole room is the shower and then the same thing is in the other room there's that bamboo detail you can look straight into the water and then there's all these glass jars again with the shampoo and the conditioner and the shower gel so i'll be honest i have not used the shower once i have only used the bathtub and then this is my area i've got the makeup over here they actually set out these towels on day one that match the kimonos and they put out my makeup and kind of organized everything so it just helped not make me so overwhelmed then i have my jewelry over here which i got this on one of our excursions from the local women it was amazing and they bring you water i feel like it should be noted they bring you water every single night so we have tons of water bottles there is a mini bar that's stocked if you want some stuff but there's lots of options for room service too so this is the bedroom we've got the fan going in here and then in this room you can actually have a different temperature set you have one ac unit in here and then you have another ac unit in the living room so you're fully good on that and then you have these shutters that you can close for for privacy so lots of light but if you want the privacy you've got it so then there's these two drawer units so there's three drawers below here and then i just put some of my shoes here and then there's these two big dresser units so andre used one side hung all of his shirts in here but there's tons of space and there's a hamper there's a safe they give you a bag it's everything you need and then again more full-length mirrors and then on my side there is life jackets ironing board again everything that you could possibly need and then on this side we used this space for our luggages we just put them up here and then same there's three littler drawers here and then on this side there's this big console area so here i just kind of put my jewelry in my purses and then there's all these shelves so i just kind of folded everything extra and then there's more room here so i use this for like my bathing suits and stuff and then andre has his things here oh it's empty no he does not have anything in there i could have used that space so then the bed right down the middle obviously king size bed the art and everything in here and the details are so beautiful the smell of like the fresh it's amazing like the scent in here is just so islandy and beautiful and we can open this and look out to the water on the side here you've got like this little sofa i just used it for bikini cover-ups beach bags we got these snorkel masks to go snorkeling super fun we went swimming with the sharks and the rays were actually going back again tomorrow i use this little table for my hats and then there's there is another tv in here so the whole thing about there being no tv there actually is so when we go to bed we usually close this but we have opened it during the day all right so i put these out so you can get the full view so we're actually going to lay out here right now but you can have some little these little covers and then the water is right here so you can literally drive dive right into the ocean and like i said there's a private beach on the other side and then for anybody asking this is the other question like you've got this barrier here but you can see the other units but you still have total privacy so let's say you're in the tub or you want it like i wouldn't jump into the ocean naked but you have total privacy and then huts that way are facing away from you so this is what it looks like looking into the unit and then under the main hut you've got this little seating area i actually took a tick tock and reels video out here and this is literally where we set up for breakfast so it's super sheltered even if there's like a little drizzle or some wind you're completely sheltered under here and then the view is just insane like the water if it looks crazy on camera it's crazier in person like i've never i would say like bahamas and turks and caicos are some of the most bluest waters i've ever seen this is crazier so i'll take you down to the water so there's a little a little chest out there for some out here for some storage and there's some towels and then this is a light for at night and then everything is open to below but let me take you down here so i wouldn't say that you could dive off of here i think you could if you really wanted to it just suggests that you don't but there is a ladder right here that goes straight into the ocean so if you want to take the ladder down the current like you can see how the current's like kind of moving but you're good if you want to go into the water so we've jumped in quite a few times it's kind of cool to just be able to swim right from your room and you can see the other units so the reason why i like this unit is you have complete privacy because there's literally nothing over there it's a private beach there's nobody ever on the beach so they can't see us there is some units on the other side that face the restaurant which is kind of weird but also if you're at the end of this dock you're right at the beginning so you're not kind of out into the ocean so it's actually really shallow over there so you can't jump in so when you're mid out this way like we're at the about the midway point so again 408 we're at about the midway point so these are really great because you can jump in but when you're all the way at the end at the these big units at the end the current is so much stronger and i know because our friend has a unit at the end and we went and visited really cool though because they have an infinity pool but when you jump in the water the current is a lot definitely a lot stronger because you're just further out into the ocean but literally any room you get here will be fabulous and the service is fabulous the restaurants are amazing i hope that you guys enjoyed the tour all right you guys i'm going to take you through our room we just got to the conrad and i think this is a really cool comparison of both hotels so we set the four seasons now we're at the conrad so this is the entrance everything here is like very high tech i feel like there's these the buttons make up room you your room key is a bracelet it's pretty cool so this is the view when you first come in and there's like a full panoramic view of the ocean it's unbelievable so they actually gave us some gifts whenever we arrived some little chips some water and then they gave me a sarong and then they gave andre a hat in a little bag and then we've got our towels here on the side and then this little seating area and there is a curtain that you can pull down so the air conditioning is going it feels super good in here i just i can't get over how there's such a difference between both hotels not one better than the other but it's just cool to be able to compare so bed right in the middle which i love and then the tv is actually in here and it goes up we just press a button and the tv will go up i doubt that we're gonna use it didn't use the tv at all at the other hotel so i'll take you outside at the end of the tour but i just wanted to show you the rest of the units so i love that there's the seating area and again like really high tech here so i can connect this to my phone the bluetooth and we can play our own music on the deck as well as in the in the room so pretty cool this is like a good little seating area that we can set up our computers and work a little bit in the morning or just whenever we do in-room dining and then this is the mini bar area they gave us some welcome drinks which is what this is so mini bar fully stocked and then there's another mini bar here and then the coffee is all included so a little nespresso machine which is perfect and then i love this so there's a full closet so they just brought all of our bags we're gonna unpack and get ready to stay for a few more days but i think this is really cool there's a little makeup area and everything and then i'm gonna take you into the washroom so this is the bathroom so freaking cool so this is andre's side and this is my side and i say that because there's a makeup mirror and then the hair dryer and again if you're going to bring a hair dryer to make sure that you have that extender to plug everything in so it's like the european extender so fresh flowers everywhere little towels so pretty but look at this tub i can't with the tub unreal and then the shower is humongous i like how modern it is here like definitely a more you know updated type of vibe but the four seasons was also amazing i just think it's cool that you guys get to see both and then the toilet room here all the windows in here fogged so total privacy facing the deck so let me take you outside because i feel like that's definitely the coolest part so they actually upgraded our room from what i had booked i didn't book a room that had an infinity pool so i am very excited right now like that was so cool of them so you're totally sheltered where i'm standing right now i'm totally in the shade and then under here there's like a little seating area totally in the shade also and covered so if there's a little sun shower we're good the reason i booked the conrad was because of the bar and the restaurants but also this i thought this was so cool it's like it's not a trampoline it's like just a hammock over the water and the color of the water is just unbelievable and the tile of this pool is so shiny it looks like a mermaid's fin or like a unicorn so there's the infinity pool dipping over here and then on this side there is the lounge area it is so sunny out right now like i don't even know if you can see everything on i hope everything's showing up okay and that you can see the the color of the water is just it's so bright and so hot out but we're loving every second of it so can jump right in the ocean here she said we can bring our paddle boards over here if we want to you can also grab a bike on the path and just bring the bike right to the bungalow so it's literally perfect so this is the size of the the entire unit it's pretty cool so you can see the other units along here they even have bungalows down there that are two stories high like literally the coolest thing this resort's really awesome so far so we're gonna go explore but i hope you guys enjoyed the tour there's andre belmar you had to be in it thank you okay so now that you've seen the rooms let's talk about the actual hotels the amenities what there is the direct comparison between the two because there are huge differences so i'm excited to go through it all right so because we started with the four seasons and that's where we started our vacation that's the room tour that we started with let's start with the four seasons so i have a bunch of notes here and i literally did the pros of each hotel and then at the same time i'll give you the cons of the other one because there really is things that one hotel does better than another so let's start with the four seasons the four seasons i would say i would say is quiet quaint very romantic perfect for couples like you don't really it's not a social space you're gonna have the quiet talks that you wanna have if that's the type of vacation that you want that is the spot to go like it was so peaceful and so serene if i would sit on the back balcony you didn't see or hear anyone the resort was also really quiet when we were there and of course i just want to mention this this is all my opinion so if you had a completely different experience i'm so sorry i'm just literally sharing my own opinions and the knowledge that i have and i hope that it's helpful okay so being a couple we loved that but it was interesting because we were actually at the four seasons which with a bunch of friends so there were quiet moments and it was super romantic and we loved it but it would have been really cool to experience it just completely alone and have that full immersive romantic vacation experience because a lot of people there were there on their honeymoon so super quiet that's a huge pro of the four seasons and super romantic if you want the overwater bungalow with the glass floors that you saw in couple's retreat the conrad is not the spot to go for that unless you're in one of the maybe the two-story rooms which i'm not in so i'm just speaking from the room that we're in which i love but you probably saw it in the room tour there's like some clear glass to look through i know that the saint regis also has that fun fact the couples retreat movies actually filmed at the st regis we also visited there so i could give you a little opinion of that space too it was beautiful very very luxurious very quiet just like the four seasons i will just say it's more focused on luxury than youthfulness that's how i would explain it i'll leave it at that but the food and everything was beautiful the grounds were beautiful but that's if you want to stay where they stayed at couples retreat in the movie it was at the same regis all right so four seasons you got the over water bungalow with the glass floor beautiful terrace amazing you can jump right into the ocean you can here too i'm going to tell you the pros here after um one pro at at the four seasons that actually beats this hotel the water is bluer you're in a you're on the other side of mount otumanu so we're actually on our own piece of land here at the conrad it's a completely different piece of land than over at the four seasons so we're literally on the opposite side of the mountain and being on the other side you not only have a view of the mountain so here you're actually in a mountain so it's kind of cool but completely different at the four seasons you have a view of the mountain and you're sheltered by that and because i guess of the depth of the water now as i say that i'm looking out the window and the water is insanely blue like it's gorgeous here at the conrad but i will say that where we stayed at the four seasons our room the water was really really blue and you might be able to tell from the video so if you saw maybe a difference maybe you didn't but i would say that the water was way bluer like almost insanely blue at the four seasons so if you're an instagram gal or dude and you want those really blue pictures that might be the spot for you i know random but i want to share everything the other thing speaking of the blue water the lagoons at the four season property are insane so the property itself at the four seasons i would say is better than the property here but it depends on what you like so if you want different little secluded beaches and lagoons to be able to snorkel through like i love that to be able to do the paddle boarding through the lagoon i love that i loved all the different little bridges that you can go over super luxurious and super beautiful and just a very vast property but here if you prefer the fact that we're on a mountaintop and you can literally walk to the top of that mountain and look at the sunset that's your choice so there really is pros to both but i did love being able to do those water sports and just go off of the main ocean area and into the lagoon where it was just easier to paddleboard and just way more secluded the other thing that the four seasons has that they don't have at the conrad is a dinner show it's not every night we did not experience it because we had our own i'm not saying this to sound i was gonna say and it's like sounds weird we were there with a group so we actually had set up our own dinner show with like a private one but there is a we actually saw people going it looks so beautiful you can sit at your table of two and they do the show and they come around you it's not like you're at some big communal thing it's very classy and very beautiful and you do a traditional polynesian show and they sing and there's like the fire breather it's sick and the food looked really good so that's something that we saw at the four seasons that they have and a lot of people from other hotels were actually going in to experience that so that's a cool thing too if you want to experience another hotel just take a boat over it'll cost you but just take a boat over to the other hotel it takes about 20 minutes not even so one thing that andre and i loved at the four seasons was the pool the pool was so pretty the the beach was super pretty do you want to be part of this i can certainly join you he's looking at me like i have opinions hopefully you weren't in the background with your nudity i don't know if i was or not i tried to sneak back to edit this video if i have to edit you out of this video i swear so one thing that we really liked and andrea joined me in a second and share all of his opinions i loved the pool bar at the four seasons it was so good and the drinks were super good they had like the that's one thing i will say the four seasons a tidbit better the service was insane like if you're sitting by the pool they're really fast super polite they're awesome so i'm gonna finish up the my thoughts on the four seasons and then you're coming in with like merch for the conrad they bought you off you're biased okay so let me finish off the conrad and then we'll get andre's opinions yeah so i just went through everything that i love about the four seasons conrad the bar right when you arrive you'll see a bar it's called oop is that what's called in my i mean yeah i'm not sure if that's exactly the name but it's amazing it's a sushi bar but it's also a bar it's pretty much all glass floors it is vibey so as soon as we arrived here i was like okay this is a totally different vibe here is way more i would say modern and if you want to socialize or even just with each other stay up later we just we're in the pool talking to strangers who are absolutely amazing they're from hawaii they're from maui they're so cool um that didn't happen at the four seasons but i will say that the bar here was like is a highlight for us like at the end of dinner if you want to go grab a drink or one night we had sushi that was so good so the bar like that was one of the main reasons i booked this hotel the other reason you're i can feel your energy you can talk in two seconds and then i'll let you say all your thoughts the other reason that i booked this hotel it was me that booked this um and you had no part in it you just you came with it i'm a passenger when it comes to traveling 100 so the other reason why i booked the conrad was because of the hammocks outside so they have over water hammocks in embedded in the dock so comfortable actually brought the comforter out this morning took a picture but i also chilled out there delightful like so chill that's where we chilled last night andre had a drink sat in the there's an over water how would you say over water pool infinity pool yeah at the edge of our dock and it's right next to the hammock it's sick so that's where we hung out last night that was literally one of the biggest reasons why i booked this hotel instead of the st regis because i didn't see any hammocks at the st regis although i heard that they do have some so i don't want to steer you in the wrong way but that was why one of the biggest reasons why i love this hotel so far the restaurants i'm blown away like last night we went to the french restaurant so there's a french restaurant a sushi restaurant and a chinese restaurant and we're going to the chinese food restaurant tonight i feel like that sounds so basic like chinese food but apparently it's fabulous and they cook everything apparently it's air everything's cooked from scratch by you know people from that area yeah and it's authentic so we're excited about that so we're doing that tonight so no opinion yet but the french restaurant yesterday was one of the best meals of my life so take that for what it's worth so the restaurants here are unreal that's what i feel like at the bar i feel because we're so far departed from the bar you can say the sushi at the sushi bars with some of the best sushi that we've had so it's you're not doing it any we're going to start you're not giving enough credit we're circling back the hammock the room types here at the four seasons it's all over water bungalows there are a couple of sweets that are a little bit bigger with an infinity pool we did not have an infinity pool in our bungalow and then there's two villas on the beach like two massive i want to call them manchester like they're huge they're kim kardashian yeah like celebrities stay in those and that's the only thing that's on land here you have everything from a two-story over water bungalow that is bananas to like inland little um secluded huts that i would love those like it's like a little cottage in the hill and then you have like the basic probably the most value option that's more so like a hotel room so if you want to stay here like there's options and we're going to get into money in a second because i've gotten a lot of questions about that um the pool here we just got back is sick so it's vibey it's really big you can lounge in like those lounge chairs there's an area by the pool that's like this like these black rocks that you walk in and then you can like sit in the pool within this like booth it's it's awesome and like they'll actually serve you lunch there and the cabanas are all included you can sit in them the cabanas are also included at the four seasons um and we also just heard that there's virtual golf at this resort so andre's excited about that but one of the biggest things other than the restaurants in the bar here the spa so this is how good it is we're going back in about 15 minutes to the spa it's one of the best spas we've ever been to you overlook the you're at the top of the mountain you overlook the view into the ocean you're in a room together there's a big hot tub in the room like it's so vibey okay so if you had to choose this is a big question if you had to choose one i think after giving it some thought i would have chose to conrad i'm leaning towards the conrad too even though i really value peace and quiet so this is what what kind of spooked me at the beginning when we first landed i'll just be honest you guys might have seen my stories also you might just notice in the room tour we're actually in a different room right now we had to change rooms so our neighbors were like next level bananas bonkers um they stayed up till like 2 30 in the morning blasting their music and i think that because it's more vibey here that kind of spooked me i was like but i value the peace and quiet i think that was a one-off situation and the staff was amazing and they moved us and they actually agreed that it was like bananas bonkers so it's fine i mean they're like do you want us to talk so i was like well that's awkward for you so no so they just switched us rooms no big deal but now having this quiet experience and being it with this view and with the we value restaurants and we value a really good cocktail at the end of the night i'm leaning towards the conrad and i do think i think it's a little bit less expensive here i think i think if yeah if you're like us and you value peace and quiet great food uh really nice modern room that's what i was gonna say so that was the last point i don't know if you can hear the music you can bluetooth your phone to there's a thing on the wall that you just bluetooth your phone and it can play on the deck and in the house in the in the little hut yeah and we're listening disney music right now this is like creations area music like we the modernness of this hotel they're very advanced she's just sick on the flip side if if you want to yeah like play volleyball uh stand up paddle board snorkel like if you're more into like doing a lot of activities i feel like the four seasons is probably the better option because we didn't walk past the end of the beach it's all over there not i know it is okay but i didn't see a volleyball court did you yeah there's a tennis court in everything so again like i said we don't have every single fact and figure but we experienced it and this was our experience and i'm really liking i'm really liking the conrad yeah and bang for bucks a little bit better yeah bang for buck so we were gonna book the st regis as an extension and we actually booked the conrad because it was more affordable and just better bang for buck so that's our opinion i told andre like gun to your head you've got to choose one and he said don't shoot that's literally a line from couple's retreat by the way that's why i'm saying that so we're we've had the best time i hope you guys enjoyed the room tours i know this is a bit of a longer video but this was a an experience of a lifetime and i had to share with you guys and give you as much value so if you are coming here please know that the number one thing that i got asked was how long was the flight and it was it worth it and the second that i i don't know i'm emotional the second that i stepped off the boat when they like or no that we stepped on the boat stepped off the plane i looked at him i was like worth it like the hard work that we did to come here like we earned the first half of our trip um it was unbelievable so all the work that went into earning that trip all the work that went into being able to do this half of the trip the the year and a half that we waited to come here because we kept having to push back the trip um and then the 36 hour travel day from ottawa canada which was insane all the testing all the stuff it was so worth it so i hope that you can set a big goal and come here because it is i don't know probably one of the best trips we'll ever take in our freaking life okay now i'm gonna go you're good i'm fine too many emotions for audrey don't want me to close it out the people taking us to the spa all
