hello my name is WYA and welcome to my deep guide and today I am very very very excited because we are doing the indepth review of the note air 3C this is a device that I have been waiting for for a very very long time and I didn't know if it was ever going to become a reality or not so I'm super happy that it's here so let's see what it brings to the table I have really high expectations of this device um so that may not be the best starting point but let's see and here we are with for me extremely long awaited desired and wanted and dreamed upon maybe it will happen maybe it will not but it's finally here the note a3c so this is now coming in after the tab ultra tab X tab Ultra C and Tab mini C we had this kind of revolution of uh BSR devices and the whole tab type of look at the devices and while they introduced some really meaningful things the BSR technology extremely important and really really good I was not a fan of the design of any of those devices maybe the tab X definitely the design but that one also has issues and I always wished for like whenever I reviewed even the tab Ultra and the tab especially when I reviewed the tab Ultra C it made me feel extremely nostalgic for my Note Air1 which by that time I have sold and replaced with the tab Ultra which I wasn't and I'm still not a fan of for me it just doesn't work and I just kind of wished if there was a note air with the K tree screen with the BSR technology but the same same note Air 2 plus that had this paperlike screen protector on top or film on top and just make it with the modern stuff and that is what note air3 is and some more that is the part that I was not expecting so yeah let's let's begin cuz this is going to be good all right so let's start with the overview of the device and the specifications and what this is so note air 3C is a 10.3 in colar e in tablet device it is coming with a Koo 3 screen which has the resolution density of 300 PPI for black and white content and 150 PPI for the color content the color is produced on K Tree by utilizing a passive color Matrix on top so that means that you don't have a switch between black and white and color mode the black and white content is always going to be rendered at 300 PPI and the color content is always going to be at 150 PPI because of how the Koo screen works if you're interested more than that then check out one of my videos uh that explain in in detail how the color uh technology actually works on the C of three panels now uh for the rest of the specifications this one has an octacore CPU but this time the octacore CPU on it is actually a newer generation and this newer generation is still octacore but the four cores uh the base cores are turboing at 1.9 GHz and the other four cores are turboing at 2.8 gz which is a significant jump from 2 G 2.02 GHz what we had before now as far as the rest of the specifications 4 GB of RAM we have 64 GB of storage uh which is expandable via the micro SD card slot here I believe that it's up to 2 TB micro SD card um slots but I'm not entirely sure we have a stereo microphone we have a USBC for data connectivity charging and usb OTG capability we also have two stereo speakers on the sides and all of it is basically on just one side on the rest of the sides you don't have anything except you have the power button on the top which is a nicely recessed kind of a uh thing like we had on a Note 5 uh which is something that I really like because you don't have to hunt around for where the power button is you simply place the finger and you immediately feel where that indentation is and that feels really really good it comes with a 3,700 milliamp battery which is something that is pretty much the same as the I believe it's the same as the note Air 2 plus or the note Air 2 not really sure anymore but I think it's note Air 2 plus it also comes with the BSR technology which means that dedicated GPU bookses GPU that's um responsible for uh clearing up the ghosting and speeding up the display of the uh images it is also responsible for a lot of battery drainage so that 3,700 Milah battery you can bet your life that the battery life on the note air 3C is not going to be anywhere near what you had seen with the battery life on the Note Air 2 2 plus or even one that improved so with the new processor it's not just the new processor everything it's the entire new s so is new so you can expect to see dramatic improvements in speed in everything data writing reading everything is going to be massively improved on this device uh as opposed to for example when you compare to the tab Ultra C or the tab Ultra or the tab minic so basically with that new improved so also comes a new license and that means that the tab note air 3C comes with Android 12 out of the box it also comes with a standard books pen so that's something that I'm not really entirely sure why did they include a standard pen not a pen 2 Pro but hey hope that's what we got not great not bad it's perfect okay but it doesn't have an eraser it doesn't have a button um but it does have a magnet and it holds on to device okayish but not really that great now as far as the design goes well I am and was and still am a huge fan of the note Air Design and I'm really really happy to see that they did not fatten it up they did not do anything to change the already awesome design that the note air Lino devices have the only thing that they've changed is the color which is called Cosmo black but it looks so so good I just love the way that this device looks and the way that this device feels in the hand the manufacturing is absolutely awesome so there's a perfect rounding of the edges nothing really uh hitting you on the sides perfectly level uh flush screen with the surface and it's just a joy to use for reading or writing or scrolling or whatever it is that you may want to use it's really really an awesome device to actually use it's very thin at 5.8 mm especially if you take into consideration that it is front lit enabled device so that all feels really really good super awesome manufacturing uh and build quality unlike the things that I've seen with the tab Ultra where we had the misaligned cameras on the back and we had the problems with the bucket design where the edges were kind of bad none of these things we have on the uh note air so if you were a fan of the note Air Design then you will be the fan uh fan of the note air 3C as well so design wise yeah very very straightforward just the logo here on the back we have these orange lines which I really really love and they double up as function as well because these are plastic uh indentations here in the metal because this is a whole metal uh construction on the back that's a whole metal unibody here and the plastic here is for transmittance of the Wi-Fi signals on the top we have a glass panel but this time they are using some uh more flexible and thinner glass which actually feels really really good and it should improve on two things first of all because it's a little bit more flexible it is supposedly it's going to be more durable because it's less rigid but it also means that it gives it has a little bit of a give when writing sort of like the plastic panels do but not quite so much but it means that the writing on the note a3c is really really comfortable because it has that give that normal glass panel doesn't have this doesn't feel that you're meeting a hard surface there's no hard resistance here it actually flexes a little which is excellent absolutely excellent so that is actually an improvement that I did not expect over what we had with the note Air 2 and the note Air 2 plus so that was a very good surprise to actually see now the second thing that I really love is that it has a paper like film that is applied on top of the screen and unlike the tab ultra tab Ultra C tab X and the Tab mini C which none of them have this and they're like you know screen reflector Bonanza and they're slippery to WR on and things like that nope none of these things on the Note air 3C you have excellent reflection uh performance here really good dimming of the reflections and it's also a very very pleasant surface to write on in a combination with that uh Flex slight Flex that the new thinner glass panel gives it's it's a really really good combination so yeah out of the box uh design and build quality I would give the note air3 a perfect score here I don't know about the durability that's the only thing that I can pose as a question is whether or not that thinner glass does that mean that this is going to be a more fragile device or not generally speaking when something is flexible that means that it should be uh more durable than a rigid glass panel so for example if it falls it will be able to bend a little and not actually fracture So in theory the physics say that this should theoretically be more uh durable than the more rigid glass panels but since I have absolutely no experience with this and I don't know uh what other users are saying I really don't know how this will turn out to be but at least in theory this should provide to be even more durable than the books Note 2 and the no books note Air 2 plus were which were already very very dur durable devices so yeah that's that's a good place to be when you power up the um note air3 um c yeah sorry you will notice that this is not a tab device so therefore it doesn't have the tab UI of books tab devices what does that mean you don't have the ability to add widgets and that is something that I do kind of Miss because I do love the ability to have uh widgets added on there that being said uh I don't know I personally don't rely on widgets that much but I know that a lot of people actually do and this is something that will be an important consideration for you if you are thinking of maybe swapping from tab Ultra to this um yeah that's definitely something to keep in mind on top of that this is an Android 12 device as I already said in specifications and the Google Play Store comes pre- enabled uh yeah so you don't have to enable it it is a Google Play Store enabled device another thing that's important to see is that this device like the U what's it called tab Ultra c pro is coming with the books 3.5 version now I didn't have time to go into depth and I won't have time to go into depth uh uh of 3.5 in this video I want to focus on the device itself not on the intricacies of the OS functionalities and things like that so that is going to come in a separate video performance- wise um like you've seen in the unboxing I have already noticed that this was U this felt faster than the tab Ultra C and then it became quite obvious when I saw that the octacore CPU is actually the full new generation of it and dramatically faster clocks and everything so yeah the overall performance is that this device performs faster in every single respect than the tab Ultra C everything all of it is faster than the tab Ultra C so um yeah you have the same screen refresh modes but just for you know kind of consistency sake I'm going to keep it in Balance because normally I showed tab Min C and the tab Ultra C in Balance so then you will see how that works as well and yeah switching between modes is not really a problem between these things this is a full screen refresh setting that you can change when it happens um so yeah if I go into the Play Store launches the Play Store I can just go through it normally and let's say that I want to install spotifi so I can just go here it goes into downloading installing and this whole process of installation and everything is a lot faster and that is going to prompt me to actually do benchmarking between uh the tab devices and this one as well so that we can see what the differences actually are the whole navigation everything so for example if I go into the library and if I am in my for example I'm in directory mode because I don't really like the scan mode I can just quickly very very quickly navigate and find which is the uh document that I want and accessing documents is is really really quick as well so this is now the standard refresh mode so this is the top quality that you can get so let's now go into format and just do fit screen so that it fits fully um so one page per screen and this is how the performance is when you are going through a document that's rich with images and text and um yeah I can go into a speed mode here which causes a tiny little bit of image degradation but the speed difference is absolutely massive now that flashing that you see is simply I have not had a time to set up the the the refresh methodology so now it's after every X operations it does a full screen refresh normally I change that to maybe 10 pages or something more now it's after every couple of operations which I really don't see the need for because the uh the ghosting performance is is really really really good on this one the clarity of the image and and the um the uh screen is excellent as well because we have 300 PPI on the black uh and white content so let me just zoom in here you can see um in reference like what is the size this is the pen so that you can reference the size of the characters and you can see that this is really really nice and easily readable and of course if you go into the content here you can see that with the color coding it's much much easier to differentiate and to see what it is that you are looking at reading etc [Music] etc and as far as the screen quality and the image quality goes well it is pretty much exactly the same like the tab Ultra C which means it is excellent so if you've liked what you've seen with the tab Ultra C that is the exactly the same stuff that you will see on the um note air 3C as well so all the positives and all the negatives are all exactly the same so that means very nice color interpretation that makes it look like a magazine for example and if I remove this super strong contrasty thing then you actually get even more details and then it just really for my sensitivities it it just looks really really good as far as ghosting goes you can see that in the Regal mode it's just really really gorgeous I mean this looks so so beautiful but then again you can also flip it into the speed mode and then you have a little bit of image degradation but you do have the option in contrast to have image smoothing and if you turn that on you will have thether filtering and then then you also have really good performance and really really good uh image quality I mean this just looks like straight out of a me reading a magazine but it's actually not it's a tablet and that's something that I really loved on the tab Ultra but what I didn't like was that I had this on a highly reflective screen on a device that didn't feel like a reader or something like that it just felt something strange bulky with edges that I didn't like with the shiny screen and with a camera on the back and this time you have none of that and you just have this amazing amazing looking uh screen on an amazing looking and feeling device so for me this is the perfect pairing of these how I wished that I could actually see and use this type of Technology yeah this is is this is definitely the embodiment of it and in this case I do enjoy the Regal quality and I will usually remain in Regal quality because I don't mind the refresh speed here when switching between these two because the quality the amount of quality that you get is just absolutely stunning and gorgeous and uh yeah it's uh what else is there to say it's just absolutely stunning what else is there to say is that the negatives also apply uh of the K3 screen which is really important which is that the screen whiteness because of that passive color Matrix that is always on top you will never have the same brightness as you will have on a regular um uh black and white device so for example this is the comparison with the white envelope and this is the whiteness of the device and let's turn off the front light even though this is really highly uh very very bright conditions but you can see see how the brightness is compared to the uh white envelope I'm just going to bring out the tab Ultra so that you can see the comparison with the black and white screen as well how much darker this actually is and here on top we have the tap Ultra with the White surface here this is the white envelope and this is the whiteness of the C tree that's the same type of whiteness that you will see on a on the um yeah tab alter C and on the Note air 3C so if that is something that's important then definitely that is something that you have to take into consideration because with that added whiteness what that actually gives you is increased contrast as well so naturally on a black and white device you will have more contrast that you will have on any of the color e in devices so that's just simply that you something that you have to keep in mind now that uh inherent darkness of the Koo tree uh technology it's a limitation that you cannot get around other than by utilizing a front light and thankfully note air3 is equipped with a very very good front light so let's check that out all right so here we are with the front light fully turned off and like on the tab mini C and all the more modern uh um books devices you have the preferable control which is the slider for intensity and slider for color as opposed to slider for intensity of cold and warm color so you have the intensity of the front light so this is what it looks like at around let's halfway of the warmth maybe around here and that is basically just to kind of warm things up a little bit and brighten things up uh so that you can normally read and use this in dark conditions as well but the front light actually goes all the way up and then you can see that the uniformity of the front light is really really good so you can see that everywhere where I look there's no really strong color bleed anywhere and it just looks really really nice and one thing that I actually like is that there's an impression that the distance between the Surface and where the screen is is lower whether that is because of the thickness of the glass or something is different but it just feels a little bit different because from this angle I would normally see the depth and I would see like the shadow that falls from the screen on the screen but none of it is actually available here so that's a good thing the color temperature this is the fully Cold Light which is actually quite Pleasant and very nice and whitish and that way you can compensate for the natural yellowish of the Koo tree screen um and you can go to fully warm light all the way here and any that you actually kind of choose you can see that the uniformity is excellent and only in the warm light you get to see a little bit of a darkening over on this Edge but it's so subtle that I don't know if the camera is even going to pick it up but um that is like the maximum maximum volume and only the warm light as soon as you start actually combining these things that just kind of Fades out and it's extremely easy to dial in exactly what you want and then you can actually compensate quite easily to get something that uh even that you have the darkness of the screen because of that front light you can compensate it so that you can get something that looks like the um tab Ultra for example so let's try and perform that experiment shall we and let's see if I can get close to the natural looking uh whiteness of the tab Ultra here so if I go all the way cold then I'm already there and as far as intensity goes it needs to go a little bit down like this maybe maybe a little bit brighter yeah just a smidge brighter and yeah so yeah if you go fully cold and around 50% a little bit over 50% depends what you actually want then you compensate enough for the dark Ness of the uh c 3 screen and you get close pretty much very close to what you have on the uh regular tab Ultra of course this is tab Ultra without the front light and then if you turn its front light then you can brighten it up even further but that's not the point what I'm trying to do is uh see if you can compensate for the darkness of K and you can but the trade-off is that you're using that front light and that you're going to be using more battery than you would on a black and white panel so that is again a tradeoff of the K screen and when you couple that with the BSR technology as well that means that you're going to uh yeah have significantly less of a battery time on any K3 screen than when you are comparing that to a monochromatic e in screen um and that's true of any device Note 3 Arc included overall I loved the screen of the tab Ultra C in combination with the BSR technology how clean it is the performance of it the contrast of it and all of it the the news paper quality of it if you are looking for super contrasty stuff of a monochromatic display you will not find that on any Koo tree or any Koo screen display so that's something that's a given and that's something that of course the note air 3C has to abide by as well but if like me you actually prefer that kind of stuff and you liked how the note air uh not note air but tab Ultra C looked like you will have the same thing on the Note air3 except in a much much nicer more portable sexier and better packaging as as the note air3 actually is when compared to tab Ultra so overall generally speaking the the screen quality the image quality and all of that while it is darker it is coupled with an excellent front light that can compensate for that if you need and desire to do that at the expense of added battery consumption of course but overall the clarity the readability the addition of color the the crispness of it and all of it is just really really Pleasant and something that I find incredibly Pleasant to just spend time reading with and that is the whole point of it because that is what it's primarily supposed to be an e reader e not taker device and it delivers big time with the K tree and the BSR technology combined now just a couple of things that I wanted to mention as far as the update 3.5 what I've noticed in the initial um testing um I won't be covering all of the functionalities as I've said but I want to mention two things that I noticed first one is uh for mdo users uh you know that I've mentioned that there was like some link padding issues that I've noticed on the OS 3.3 that that was added well the cool thing is that on the 3.5 I do not have any of those issues I can pinpoint all of these with perfect accuracy and there is no more of that padding going on so that's something that yeah without any fail I do not make any kind of uh problems I don't see any problems it's just perfectly working as it should so that is is point number one and point number two is that um there has been a new addition to the functionality of the progress and that is this one here which is add a blank page so now we can finally add blank pages in the documents and if you're using an organizer hyperlink organizer on your books device such as my daily organizer that I have you can see it on the my guide.com shop or the my deep guide meeting planner that means that now on the books you can actually insert a blank page and then you can fill it in any way you like like this uh let's see can we change a template let's see does it have a template functionality I do not think that it does but maybe you could insert an image or something like that I'm not really sure so so that's that's the part of the testing that I will have to do but at least you can insert a blank uh page we'll see if you can copy a page from notebook into this that's all the stuff that I'm going to be testing uh later on but the important part is I can make my entries here right and then I I can just flip back to the previous page but none of the hyperlinks are BL broken broken none of the hyperlinks are are BL broken what the hell and none of the hyperlinks are broken everything actually works as it should be so we were on May 1st right so I can go to May 2nd everything works fine I go back to May 1st my daily notes work and everything but if I just flip a page from May 1st next that's where my blank page is when I enter uh inserted it into document so that is quite quite a significant Improvement as far as um yeah PDF goes and if you're using hyperlink PDF files um on books devices that's so that's a pretty cool thing to see now as far as the note taking goes again I have not tested all of this so I won't be going into the details of the functionalities of the notebooks that's going to be a separate video because those things are going to be applicable for all of the devices all of the books devices that run um a books update 3.5 version so I want to centralize the the reviewing and all of those functionalities in a separate video everything that we have had so far is something that you can find on the uh note air 3C as well so if you're looking for an overview of the functionalities both in the reader and in the notetaker I invite you to check out the uh tab Ultra C and the tab Ultra reviews because those things are um kind of covered in a little bit more detail not fully but a little bit more detail so that you can see what are all the functionalities that you can actually do here these are the colors that are at your disposal on the notebook so you can have the brushes with that type and you have five different brush types you have the ink pen you have the brush you have the ballpoint pen you have the pencil and you have the highlighter so I'm going to be using the uh ink brush here for a test and we're going to be using just a regular black color so you can see what the writing performance is on the Note air tree C is the writing experience on the note a3c is the best writing experience of any books device it's fast F precise responsive crisp comfortable sounds and looks nice and is maybe this is going to be a big claim the best writing experience of any device for me I have to add this thing so that because it is a experienced thing so it's going to be a subjective thing but objectively if you want to compare like a lot of people are going to say oh by inertia alone how does it compare to remarkable two well please do remember that remarkable 2 is now further down the line and is and it's been quite some time since it's been the best because it has been surpassed by overall writing experience uh by the uh Kindle scribe so for me the comparison should be how is the writing experience with the Kindle scribe and um yeah just to get it out the way this is far better in every single respect than the remarkable two there's there's nothing that you can compare it's faster it's crisper it looks nicer it sounds better it's uh it's softer it has a little bit of give so that remarkable one hand for example but it's not as rough as the remarkable one it's simply a class above remarkable too and also you have on top 300 PPI for the black uh a content and it's just way way better what I want to compare this to is the Kindle scribe because for me the Kindle scribe is the new Benchmark for the writing experience since it has come out uh almost a year ago and this is what surprised me it's because of the 300 PPI it's comparable to the Kindle scribe as well and it's as fast as the Kindle scribe and it sounds as good and it feels as good as Kindle scribe and that flexy give that thinner glass that you have has that give which is so so important for writing Comfort because you don't have that tough glass pushing back at you when you push down on the screen it actually has a little bit of gift and for me that is the plus that definitely goes into in favor of note a3c uh pushing it into this sentence here that it is the best writing experience of any device that I have had up till now now this also needs to be uh kind of kept in mind that the brushes on the note air3 on the books devices no 3C included are not as good as the ones that you have on the Kindle scribe or on the remarkable 2 but those are tools that is not the writing experience but I just wanted to kind of mention it as well if I'm comparing now the raw writing experience for me note a3c is hands down the best device that I have ever written on now as far as the uh software goes as the tools and stuff no it's not the best I will have to see but right out the GGO I know that the brushes on the Kindle scrip and on the remarkable 2 are better on this but I really don't care that much because what I get here is so much better than remarkable to and what I get here is for me a vitally important component for the writing comfort that push back I don't have the hardness of a cold uh thick glass that I have on the Kindle scribe I don't have that here it's actually a lot more comfortable and it just feels so so so good so yeah when I was doing the writing tests as I already said I was really Blown Away by the writing feel and the experience but one of the things that I was also really really Blown Away was the speed just how fast this thing feels when you're writing on now we're already super super fast on multiple devices and it's granted really becoming difficult to kind of feel the difference but you actually do feel the difference and this one felt like Kindle scribe like there's no latency whatsoever so when I fired up to Desta Desta actually confirmed that feeling and ladies and gentlemen we have the new leader of the deatha writing latency board and it is the note air 3C because at 1754 milliseconds of writing latency the note a3c is a device with the fastest writing latency currently on the market writing latency on the Note air 3C check the best there is currently the uh screen reflectivity check really really good not as good as some of the best ones like quaderno and others but those will actually eat at your nibs like super super quick so I really do like this kind of um average and a compromise that this brings to the table so check there as well for the writing experience the next one would be the screen resistance and this one the note air 3C measures at 28.58 of resistance uh compared to the paper for example which places it similarly to the Nova Air1 and remarkable 2 so it's slightly more paperlike than the remarkable 2 and slightly slightly less than the Nova Air1 which actually makes sense because they're using the exact same paperlike film that they used on the um note air 2 and not a 2 plus unfortunately back then I did not have that device and that test so I never managed to measure them but yeah this is in line with that so I imagined that it would be pretty much the exact same performance as the note Air 2 and a note Air 2 plus and then finally we also have the distance from uh surface to the screen and death thinner glass does make a tiny bit of a difference instead of the standard 1.1 mm that we see on pretty much all of the book devices here I measured 1 mm but that uh that's not the only thing that makes a difference I think that what also makes a little bit of a difference is that slight give and flex when you're writing so what actually happens when I'm writing on the note a3c is that the surface gives way a ever so slightly when you're writing and then you're ever so slightly even closer to the surface or to the screen uh uh where the writing actually appears and the calibration compensates for that distance as well so the end feeling is with the super fast latency and that closeness to the screen it really feels unbelievably good to write on Den note a3c so all of that combined seriously without joking currently on the market this is the device that has the best writing experience feel for me personally now we come to the point that I knew right out of the get-go that's going to be the Achilles heal of the note air 3C and that is the battery and the battery life so the note a3c comes with a pretty hefty and good healthy 3,700 Milah battery which should be enough for a regular e inks device but this is not an regular e in device this is a BSR books super refresh technology enabled device which means it's going to suck that battery power way way way faster than a regular device and that is of course true of the note a3c unfortunately so I've done my tests and uh yeah the battery life is really not that good on the note a3c and that is going to be probably yeah something that you absolutely have to kind of consider is that going to be a deal breaker for you or not reading uh testing I put the device into Auto page flip mode to flip a page every 20 seconds and I tested with different intensities of the front light with the Wi-Fi turned on and the Bluetooth turned off Note a3c performed with the front light at 100% it was delivering around 12 uh it was spending around 12% of battery life per hour which averages out down to around 8.33 hours of constant page flipping per charge then if you drop down that front light down to 30% and actually this is a surprising thing I had the same result with the front light at 30% and with the front light completely turned off uh note air3 C was actually consuming 7% of battery life per hour which averages down to only 14.28 hours per charge which is abysmally low when you compare it to not Air 2 for example or not a 2 plus or not a 1 which would be able to do a 100 hours Plus without the front light at all in the same conditions now whether or not this is something that has to do with the software uh update itself if that is something that they can update in the software that would be an excellent thing to see but the fact remains also that all of the other devices that were delivering higher battery life had massively bigger batteries so for example tab minic C had a 5,000 milliamp battery and then it was able to deliver a little bit higher uh uh reading performance and battery performance so it just comes to yeah it's it's logical that note 83c with a 3,700 Milah battery is going to have probably the worst battery life of any books device so far and that reflects down onto the writing itself as well so the writing performance with a front light at 30% um the device was consuming 14 uh % of battery life per hour of continuous writing which averages out at around 7 hours uh4 7.14 hours per charge of continuous writing not bad it will get you through the day but not as good as what we've had with previous node air devices and with the front lights turned off you get a marginal gain with around uh 133% per hour being spent with an average of 7.69 hours of continuous writing per charge so yeah I knew that the battery life is going to be the weak point of the note airc um simply because yeah of the experience and the data um and and it it delivers definitely delivers it is an objective weak point that you absolutely have to keep in mind other functionalities well as I've said this is an Android 12 uh Google Play Store somewhere Google Play Store enabled device device out of the gate so that means you can install your Kindle you can install your Cobo you can install Spotify YouTube any browser that you want you can use Google Drive you can use dropbox you can use anything that you want as you would normally use on a regular tablet except that this is an e in power tablet and you have the benefits of an e in tablet the same limitations apply like any other e in tablet which means the writing performance on non-e in optimized apps will be bad so don't expect the uh blistering performance of the writing uh latency that you have in the notes app you will not have that in nonoptimized third party apps the exceptions might be the one note and Evernote as I've discussed with the tab Min C but those use a cheat system where you basically write on top of an app and then the system basically bakes down the vectors that you wrote Into the app and the whole experience is kind of patchy and not something that I like at all it feels like a you know Patchwork like a something that's yeah just patched up and it doesn't really feel like a genuine functionality so for me if you're going to be writing you should do the writing in the notes and uh yeah if you're doing writing on anything else expect a drastically slower performance because those apps are simply not optimized to utilize eink screen refresh methodology other than that what does the and 12 environment mean well that means that you can have um you can have screen casting you can have split screen functionality system wi split functionality you can do a screen recorder you can do a screenshot you can record your voice you can do uh tons and tons and tons and tons of things of functionalities with this one you can have your dictionaries you can install custom dictionaries you can have text to speech you can uh convert text you can convert speech to text you can convert handwriting to text you can use email you can use uh any of the Cloud's synchronization device services that you may want you are not limited to synchronizing your content with just the books account you can use a Google Drive you can use a Dropbox you can use a one drive and a myriad of other uh Services as well uh not all all of the synchronization things is going to be available for every account so for example the annotations the handwriting in documents is going to be synchronized only via the books account but everything else is going to be synchronized normally via the other uh Services cloud services and that means that you can finally also have your notes in Native format which is a really good thing to see because you can have yet you know independent backups of your notes etc etc so there's really a lot of stuff that we can do here and as I said I can't really cover all of that in a product review because that will fall into the category of the books OS 3.5 review which is something that I intend to do on a separate basis and that is so much functionality so many things I envisioned that's going to be like a series of videos so that people can actually reference to these things because it's going to be a huge amount of work to do that but I do plan on doing that so that you have like that everybody has a reference point to get to it and then you can quickly find what you're looking for if you can do it on your Android phone or your Android tablet you can probably do it on the Note air TRC as well and finally I would like the to to cover the cover of the uh note air 3C and uh this is also a a positive for me for sure because with the U magnetic cover uh with the note Air 2 plus we had the introduction of the magnetic cover so we no longer have the adhesive uh we had the magnetic covers while everything was really sexy and nice with that cover and this one reflects all of that functionality so you have the flap to hold your pan tight and it just looks really really nice there is one really really important difference and something that I missed from that uh cover uh for the note Air 2 plus and that is the ability to use it and that it doubles up as a stand as well this is something that I used a lot my note Air1 I used it in this mode a lot with my Bluetooth keyboard so I would just put it like this my Bluetooth keyboard here and then type away and use it as a tablet for writing and yeah emailing and things like that that was not possible to do with the new magnetic cover that they introduced for the note air2 plus but that has been remedied as well here on the note air3 and I am able to actually do this without any problems and while it is true that the note a air 3 does not have the Pogo connector so it will not have the ability to have like a keyboard dedicated keyboard cover like the tab Ultra and tab Ultra C and the tab Ultra c pro do you don't actually need it because this one doubles as a stand and because it has a uh Bluetooth connectivity that means that you can freely use any normal keyboard that you are yourself used to and that is is a far far far more usable scenario for me at least than having a fullon keyboard that's there as well and kind of doubling up because those are always going to be small format kind of cramping your hands and having the wrists in bad angles and things like that and that's something that I'm not genuinely not interested in I I'm not interested in harming my wrists simply because of a small keyboard that looks sexy and might work and all that kind of stuff but I don't personally don't care about that what I do care is this that I can actually just keep this on my table right and I'm doing on something else and then when I need to I can just simply flip it into this mode hit the button on my Bluetooth keyboard so that it actually connects to this device and without any kind of difference interference in working I continue working directly on this device and that is a huge huge plus as as far as I'm concerned as well uh over the yeah uh note Air 2 plus note Air 2 and the tab Ultra C and the tab Ultra as well so here as well the note air3 uh C really really takes the cake for me at least all right so let's start with the conclusion um what do we think about the note a3c and as usual let's start with the cons and the first con absolutely has to be unequivocally the battery life the battery life is a very objective and a very real Con on this device this is something that may concern or uh have an effect on some users it may be even a deal breaker for some users for me personally it is not simply because the everything else that this device actually brings to the table just makes it worthwhile in my case to actually have that lower battery life because yes it is lower but it's not uh anything catastrophically low for my us case scenarios now it is nowhere near the battery life and performance that you would have had in any of the previous note air devices so yeah it is the it has the worst battery life of any note air device before and maybe even any of the other books devices so far definitely a big con another con would be that the uh note air3 comes with the standard books pan not the pen 2 Pro and also that the magnet uh could hold the device a bit better and also the standard uh negative or the con is that um steep learning curve of the books OS system however because this one comes with the brand new OS 3.5 I have already seen quite a few improvements especially with the onboarding process so apparently books is listening and they are working on it and now the tool tips are starting to make more sense now the text behind the tools and the description of the tools starting to make sense and the functionalities are starting to have a lot more sense as well so for example yeah you can actually do landscape and portrait of a notebook without the notebook falling apart as it did previously which is a really good thing now I need to do a long-term uh testing of the 3.5 to see what are the bugs what are the issues are notebooks going to disappear or things like that so there were in consistencies before and I'm pretty sure there are going to be some issues with the 3.5 as well but all I'm saying is that yes we have the standard con with the difficulty and the demanding learning curve that the books OS system has however on this one it is not as big of a con as it is on the previous version simply because 3.5 is a little bit more user friendly and another con of course is in relation to the uh c 3 screen and that the inherent darkness of the cl3 screen granted it can be of course compensated via the front light but that front light then uses the battery life so then it's like w but yeah definitely considerably darker than the monochromatic screens uh that you might be used to so onwards with the pros of the note air 3C best writing latency of any device currently on the market best writing overall experience of any device on the market because of the BSR and an excellent front light and an excellent combination of all of the three like the K the three screen 300 PPI for the black uh content and all of these things combined excellent excellent reader color e reader experience beautifully executed beautiful ergonomic design beautifully machined like awesome awesome device to hold in the hand yes it is a three-year-old design but like the remarkable two this design ages really really well and even now when it comes out in 2023 the device feels looks and is fresh the price of the note air 3 C com compared to everything else especially when you compare it to the Tab mini C is really really good the cover is magnetic which is great uh but it also doubles as a stand which is most definitely a pro note a3c comes with Android 12 which is great it also comes with the new OS 3.5 books OS 3.5 which has significant improvements and it also comes with a brand new s so so a much more powerful CPU much more powerful read and ride capabilities faster Ram all of these kinds of things feels and performs a lot faster noticeably faster than the tab Ultra C and the tab Ultra for example or the tab minic I'm sure that I could continue on with positives about this device because quite simply I'm not going to beat around the bush um I absolutely freaking love this device I adore it already and I do not want to part my part ways with it at all I have missed my note Air1 quite a bit and there was this turmoil with the tab Ultra and stuff but they never felt quite right for me and this was the the device that I was uh waiting for and I'm definitely going to be purchasing this one because I really freaking love this thing now this device probably won't hit all of the marks for everyone and the biggest negative is that battery life you really have to seriously take it in into consideration because it is a thing to yeah keep in mind um but as I said for me it is something that I have considered but everything else about this device is so overwhelmingly good that I am ready to accept that objective negative point that note a3c has because it doesn't affect me that much and quite frankly I can't wait to finish yabbering and recording all of this and editing all of these videos so that I can actually start spending me uh time quality time with well soon to be my own books note air 3C I hope that you like the video I hope that you
