Boog Powell on his time with the Orioles

I really didn't think about it too much when I first that year that I had in 64 when I hit 39 it just all came together and and I know Palmer talks about Robin Roberts having a lot to do with him and his career well Robin Roberts told me to get on top of the plate he said don't give in just sling 8:39 that year and he hung around with us and then I don't know it just I was just looking for the ball in his neck that day that I drove in 11 runs and I hit three home runs or 4 home runs that day now when trying to hit a home run that day it was just Alvin dark was managing and I did a check swing double down the left-field line and he I came back up the next time and he said swing the bat like a man and I did when you see some homeless out there near your boobs' barbecue many out there that come close to knock and topple the roof off we get them coming out there all the time and all those marks out there and it's hard to believe that it's hard to believe the griffeys the only guy that's ever hit that building out there look at 8:00 the where else oh man yeah yeah yeah I might be able to hit it right now in my old age give me about a week with a bat you know I wouldn't be scared to try it you know what's the heck no no but I really do I really do think that I would have valued some balls that I can think of that would have hit it I know it I know they would have hit it how about your most memorable home run for yourself in your entire career any place where you play yeah I hit two I hit one off of diego sigee in Kansas City and 4:32 the base of the fence and it was 100 and 130 130 feet high and I hit off the top of it and it was still going on that was a good I had another one in Chicago off of one of our road they cleared the cleared the roof in right field in right-center field old Comiskey old Comiskey it was 4:15 there and was 118 feet to the top of the roof nobody ever saw it come down it just you know it just kept going you know and it was one of those balls like when you hear homerun hitters talk about home runs it's like I didn't even feel it and I didn't even feel it I mean it was almost like you know I came back in the dugout books he said you get it all I said not only in the back just a little bit whooping you know I used to kid with him all the time about this what final questions about the Orioles current hitters now who impresses you over with the home run hitting unit here in Baltimore down you know there's all of these guys are have got Trey as a trade magazine he's got a real nice quick back I mean he is he's going to be he's going to be something special I think but you can't pitch him in you can't pitch him away and he still stay it out there Trumbo I you know he's got some awesome power Chris you know he's his record speaks for itself I mean the guy hit 51 home run I'd like to see him cut down on about 100 of the strikeouts that he's got I think he would help the team a heck of a lot more if he struck out maybe 50 times and 150 times he would hit the ball 50 more times he probably driving 20 or 30 more run
