provides strength in support to our body so we don't just flop around like a jellyfish there are 206 bones in the human body each bone has a job some bones protecting like our skulls protecting our brain other bones like bones in our arms and legs help us to move around by providing support for our muscles Wow the skeletal system includes more than just bones - it also includes tendons ligaments in cartilage tendons attach our bones to muscles so we can move around ligaments attach bones to other bones the cartilage is a smooth stretchy tissue that covers and protects the ends of long bones are two joints and inside of your bones there's a soft area called marrow this stuff makes blood cells and more interesting is there any marrow and you know actually think something is coming out of this one we all know we need food to survive but how does our body take something like the chicken parmesan and turn it into energy well we can thank the digestive system for that the digestive system is made up of a ton of parts most of these organs are located in the middle your torso they work as a team to break down your food into useful nutrients that your body can use and each organ has its own part to play these parts include the esophagus stomach liver gall bladder pancreas intestines and more digestion starts the moment that you take your first bite you need to spit in your mouth helps to break down food while you chew from there after you swallow your food it travels down the esophagus into your stomach and it's broken down warm by stomach acids it is then passed your small where most of the digestion occurs this process takes about six to eight hours to be completed once all the nutrients have been absorbed the leftovers are moved on to the large intestine so any leftover water can be removed afterwards the leftovers are expelled from the body as waste aka poopoo Steve get this thing away from me hurry up in there sounds like he's waking up Papa John's right that make hormones these glands include parts such as the hypothalamus and the pancreas the endocrine hormones help control mood growth and development the way our organs work metabolism and more I systems deal with expelling waste from the body the urinary system includes these parts and the excretory system includes these but let's focus on the urinary system as we learned earlier the body takes nutrients from food and change them to energy after the body has taken nutrients it needs waste products are left behind the kidney and urinary systems help the body to get rid of liquid waste called urea urea is carried in the blood to the kidneys this is where it is removed along with water and other wastes in the form of urine urine what your Anandi's body that's what you're in yeah hey muscular system the muscular systems main purpose is to produce movement the muscular system is composed of special tissue called muscular tissue there are three main muscle types of the muscular system skeletal muscle smooth muscle and cardiac muscle skeletal muscle is the muscle attached to bones they form bones to make movements smooth muscle is found in the walls of many organs such as the bladder and the intestines the cardiac muscle is the muscle of the heart speaking of the heart can we go to the body system that deals with that yeah the belly button no the circulatory system there it is the belly button no the heart the heart and all blood vessels make up the circulatory system its main job is to keep blood flowing throughout the body it is broken down into three parts the cardiovascular system which is the heart the pulmonary system which consists of the lungs and the systemic system which consists of the arteries veins coronary vessels and portal vessels hey guys up nevermind is just my favorite song ever look red blood cell the immune system senses something's wrong you know what that means just two lights and tell stories of ghouls no white blood cells are on the way the immune system defends our bodies from infections and disease its job is to detect pathogens and pathogens are things that cause diseases when these pathogens are detected the immune system recognizes that they're different or wrong and tries to eliminate them the immune system is made up of special organs cells and tissues that all work together to destroy these pathogens some of the main organs involved in the immune system include the spleen lymph nodes tonsils bone marrow and more now each of these organs play a role in the production and activation of a type of white blood cell called lymphocytes think of the white blood cells as disease police once an invader inside the body is found white blood cells do not think twice and attack don't care Steve okay belly button larynx pharynx lungs and diaphragm the respiratory systems main function is to supply oxygen to all parts of your body it does this through breathing inhaling oxygen-rich air and exhaling air filled with carbon dioxide the final one the reproductive system did you ever wonder how you came to be well you could think the reproductive system for that this system is one of the most important because it's what gives humans and animals the ability to create more of their own kind like you men and women have different reproductive organs but they are all important because they allow for the creation
