all right so we're back at it for another day got a few things going on we're getting the loader service and ready for next year i guess um we got some work to do with it but it's got 260 hours on the service so before we take it back up to rothbury and just put on another 50 60 hours on it i figured we'd service it while it was down here um our tractor got the front end all tore apart we got a new u-joints going in it um and a drive shaft i don't know if i ever recorded any of that it's been on um got some wood piles around i cleaned up some fence lines and stuff like that and we got an old barn that fell down that we're going to take care of just get it taken care of and cleaned up so it looks a little better but um i want to tighten the tracks up on the skid steer so i mean you can you can see there there's a little play in them this one's not as bad as the other side but i would like to tighten them up just a little bit for winter i prefer them a little tighter during the winter i don't know if you guys have ever put tracks have you ever popped a track off and put it back on in the winter i have i've done it in 10 degree weather i don't enjoy it um my hands get really cold and lock up and stuff like that so i prefer to uh just run them just a little bit tighter in the winter and um yeah so hopefully that saves us from having that issue but you can see here we've got a little a little bit of frozen dirt built up i mean it's not going to come off so i think i'll just get the torch out and torch them get them all nice and hot when i say the torch i mean our rosebud here let's see it's right here so i got to get this going i got both sides to do this side's not nearly as bad but we'll get them we'll get them heated up cleaned up and tightened up and then we gotta go get our grapple for this thing and so that way i can sort there's tin from the roof and everything that i got to sort out spent blocks and everything i got to work around so i'll use the grapple and get that taken care of all so here's our here's our torch here so we'll get this going [Music] all right that side's done we need to get the issue is when you get to now you guys can't see anything there's a little little door right here two bolts just unbolt it and pop it off and the grease fittings back there and then you just tighten it up a little bit all right so what we got going on as you can see here we got some old junk metal some wood and a barn that has fallen down so what we're gonna do is clean up all the wood off of that sort out all the metal everything so we get this cleaned up i don't know if we're really ever gonna farm it but it'll be nice get it cleaned up i don't know maybe park some equipment here or something who knows i mean it's just nice to get it taken care of it's kind of uh we'll take out the silo at some point maybe get some concrete taken care of clean it up you know over the grain bins we got the last load of corn download right here this is it uh it's only been on the truck for a month whatever the last day it was when i finished up probably pretty close to a month ago uh it's like two days before christmas now so yeah um this load probably isn't i'm trying to see up in there but i'm not quite far enough back or not quite high enough with the truck but uh this load's probably gonna be a pain to deal with um it's been snowed on and it was like 19. we weren't really sure if we were going to dry it or what we were going to kind of try to blend it off with some other stuff but that didn't work out so we had to order more propane that was kind of the whole deal as we were out of propane so we didn't want to dry it but we ordered it done it over with so yeah all right so i don't know how good a sign this is here but i don't think your water is supposed to be running out of corn yeah this should be fun um there's still just a touch of snow up in there i think i'm gonna get the dryer started get it hot and slow it right down i think that's how i need to do this um really and truly everything i got to get flowing back into i gotta start the leg first before i get carried away here all right gotta do that that's key um start take this back over to the wet band there's also a squirrel hanging out on the trailer i don't know if you guys caught that but there's a little red swirl around here um i gotta plug this thing in here some reason it's always like a learning curve even a month after you've been running this thing for some reason get this turned way down over to here all right so i've got the truck just about empty the weapon lights on you can see it's right there i got a pile of corn on the floor trying to fill the pit up i was trying to get the truck completely empty it's not quite there so i gotta wait a little bit yeah but hopefully some of that corn that stuck to the bottom we'll uh let go and slide down so we'll be able to get that out as well i got this filled up i ran it empty so this is empty so it should be able to start back up and finish filling so yeah hopefully hopefully this doesn't plug up you know when i start that up hopefully i don't have too much on it that could be a bad day so i'm just gonna drive for a half hour and come back over and hopefully i got enough out of it by that point anyways yeah that's what i got going on all right so the truck is empty door's shut it's all taken care of and i gotta take a call all right anyways so the truck is empty and everything is cleaned up and the cord is drying so we're winning right that's how that works i don't know so anyways um yeah that's the last of the corn everything's in the weapon going through the dryer it's cooking out pretty good so hopefully by four or five o'clock you should all be done um yeah so i think the best part about this now is i can go through and actually uh detail my truck get the inside all cleaned up now that i'm done running dryer pulling in there so uh very excited for that i'm tired of all the corn dust on my dash it's driving me nuts so i get to go through and finally clean it maybe i'll do that next week between christmas and new year's that'll be make me a lot happier so that's the best part um yeah everything she's been going good said plug up the auger you know so try to load it too fast happens you know once in a while you just get a little carried away you want to get stuff done boom plug everything up so yeah it's uh we got a flat tire on that semi that's our other issue uh before we bring that back we probably need to uh go through and put that back on the bead um because i pretty sure we can recap it so i don't really want to kill the beat of it um the tigers aren't good to us at that point if we uh kill the beat so get that taken care of and then bring that sound back get a little work to do it because mark decided to smash the mirror out in that thing uh we were on the drain cart next to it he got kind of a little crooked he was trying to learn in the dark and happens so yeah we gotta take care of that all right so uh i made it up to the tractor here we're gonna do some chisel pollen we got this piece here uh this piece right back there on the other side of this piece this is a all gonna be one field next year this corn section here and that was our wheat field that we had so that's already chiseled we just pulled out earlier this summer or earlier this fall for everything so it's all just a cloud we're gonna go through and get this piece done work it into the other it's all gonna be one field and then i don't know if i'll be able to actually chisel plow that piece that corn field over there that's probably one of our wetter fields next to the fields up there those fields uh the hull seals are wet so those ones we're gonna actually turn into wheat fields next year we're gonna go through the spring and subsoil and we're in early summer sometime when it's dry and we can get out there we'll go through and sub-soil them all and just because i don't think it's ever been done and it's just really heavy playground i think we think it needs to be broke up a little bit and get it taken care of so we have one other field at the grass the sod field that i think i'm going to chisel plow i'll call grandpa before i sink and chills upon you but we talked about it yesterday so i think we're gonna get that one so we got probably 45-ish acres of chillipop and we'll hopefully get it done today the plan is um i'm going to tighten up all my we're putting new points and sweeps on this thing i don't know if i'm even showing you guys this so we run a straight shank here with a sweep behind it um i think it helps break up the helps loosen the soil up some more and we're not we usually we used to run twist shanks on it and we just think this does a better job of breaking up some compaction it's lifting the soil more i don't know i could be completely wrong um you know what can you say um we're trying trying something new you know just keep doing the same thing you don't know if you're doing better or worse so we've uh chosen everything like that this year we think it's doing a great job it's i mean it's covered 600 acres already this fall so that's a that's a key for us getting that all worked up um in years past we've had some really wet falls and so we've had to do some disking and some of our fields have got a little bit of wave to them and i think this has really helped us get some of those fields leveled off some more and so then we'll go through and sort of finish them this i think next spring because i don't think i'll be able to get back out on some of the fields this fall but if i can i will if i can get some more soil finishing done that'd be great i don't know how much i'm gonna get that done i mean it's just one of those things but yeah we're uh we're pretty excited about how this falls going can't complain at all so let's get into this thing and get to choose one all right we're done yeah we got one field left i decided to go ahead and do that field uh on the corner that was right next to the one that we were doing earlier i think it's supposed to rain tomorrow and the other field is a lot sandier it's uh bigger and i'd be i'd have a better chance before the rain to get this field done so that's what i did it worked out and uh yeah so that's probably gonna be it for this video uh grandpa finished up drying that corn i'm sure i'm sure that's all done so that's taken care of and uh yeah anyways let's get out of here
