Bob Arum says Shakur would beat Devin Haney; Reacts to 25% fight offer & ducking frustrations

please now Bob um to one of your Fighters vasili lomachenko what's the latest uh we heard that you know Devin is going to go to 140 to have that fight with Regis progress uh with matrim and his own for one fight but uh where does that leave vasilia at this point well you know he's he's rated very highly in all the organizations So eventually he'll fight for a lightweight title I think is mine right now is not on fighting uh you know very disappointed with the judges scoring uh in the a e fight so uh you know I think will probably look to see lomachenko come back next year do you know against what type of opponent I know Shakur's been online a lot uh on Twitter like asking for a fight with vasilia and others would that be potentially a fight we would see see how everything plays out I mean you know no sense projecting fights based on a previous fight that somebody wins and somebody loses like uh shakua will have a fight definitely this year against the best available guy uh this camposis will be fighting this year uh so you know there'll be a lot of options next year yeah I is that the next logical fight then for George is Shakur I know they kind of had like a little confrontation in Oklahoma after George's fight well again let's see let's see each of them will have an opportunity to win a title in the lightweight Division and maybe they decide to match up I mean again if I start talking now uh uh it just confused confuses them how would that work for them uh vying for a title because with the whole Haney situation he still gets to keep the Undisputed titles right or or because he's taking this fight he's going to end up being stripped of some of them yeah he's going to be stripped and if he wins he beats progress then he's gonna stay at 140. you know he's having big big troubles staying at 135. outside looking in and this is just me thinking he seems to be a little frustrated of not getting guys like haynie and gervante uh and others in the ring with him do you kind of sense that from him also no I talked to him last night and uh you know he's a young ambitious guy was super talented and he's like a horse you know can't wait to get out of the Starting Gate but I talked to him and I told him it'll all come take your time uh you're building up a tremendous record you're making good money uh the Dream fights that you're looking for will be there maybe not this year but next year or the year after and how do you take that good he's you know he's he he started with top rank when he was a baby uh and and he therefore lacks some maturity and now as he's getting older and understands everything he's becoming more mature not only as a fighter but as a person so yeah he's a highly intelligent and he understands how did you take the supposed offer that was sent to him from Devin the the 20 or 25 percent for a fight was that was there any ever any real substance behind that no yeah I don't think any was particularly anxious uh to fight Shakur because uh it's frankly probably a fight that Shakur is going to win so Haney is better off uh fighting at 140 where his body is uh calling for because it's more and more difficult for him to make the 135 lemon when you look at Devin's situation in this one fight that he has with Regis one do you feel that he beats Regis given regis's last performance and two I would imagine the door still open for him to come back is it the plan at all to get him after that uh pro-grace fight well it depends on who he wants to fight uh uh I think if he beats rigas he's going to look to fight to your female and he'll come back and that's a huge fight in your opinion does he beat Regis I don't know that's you know again Regis didn't look like the same Regis that fought the closed fight with Josh Taylor he just didn't but whatever the reason was like you can't write them off based on his body of work and if Regis uh goes back to where he was then he against Amy will be a very competitive fight if he is on the same level as he showed in his last fight then Haney will beat him quite easily so it is what it is but you can't write a guy like a progress or based on the performance in one fight
