Boarding the NEW Icon of the Seas!

we're in Miami and we are boarding the brand new icon of the there's so much excitement in the air the biggest Royal Caribbean fans are here look at this entrance we're going in this is beautiful and then this is New Look off to the right there's like an outdoor seating area that's never existed before wow yeah this looks nice already oh my God we're going into the prominade oh my [Applause] God thank you oh oh my God look at the Pearl it's huge it is huge in real life oh my God the escalator oh my God people are going crazy oh my God escalators in the prominade oh my God this is crazy the Pearl is so much bigger in real life than I thought Starbucks oh my God the Starbucks the prominade it's so different it's different I was really expecting it to be kind of the same as the wais class but no it's different there's champagne there is so much excitement everybody is so excited everybody's cheering everyone's so happy and smiley and bubbly oh my gosh so it's not Rover oh my God this isn't Rover but there's another dog there's another dog wonder why his name is does Rover if Rover's going to get the bad idea to go to the bathroom wherever he wants on the prominade or she wants okay so the elevators are different here you select your deck outside of the elevator let's go to the top 17 elevator B where's B oh it's over here okay here we are at B so this is going to make the elevators way more efficient cuz elevators are always a pain on cruise ships but this is going to make it better amazing oh they still have this though so it's still glad they still have the day of the week I was like wait how we can't touch it it already knows where we're going yeah this is going to make it so much more efficient I think I so blown away we've been on board for like 10 seconds and I'm like what I know we don't even know where we're going going down we're around 17 oh Cloud 17 oh Cloud 17 that's one of the pool decks I think this used to be the adult area but they changed it it's much more quiet and calm and tranquil now was it raining earlier no I think they're cleaning oh my God look at the water slide out there the water slide that's it's not rain it's water from the water slide oh is that what that is or no I think they're cleaning okay let's check out this pool deck oh my God look at the the like the net the nuts on the chairs What on earth oh my God and look at all the chairs in the water this pool is huge and two hot tubs water water everywhere not a drop to drink there's ELO fresh down there my god let's keep let's go down these stairs thrill Island this is so cool so is it Category 6 water park or is it thrill Island I don't know oh my God this looks do you hear the noise sound effects oh my God it's like a storm it looks like we're in a water park right now it's so beautiful and this is like a water park they have like little Cubbies there that are themed put your your flip clops there's six water slides here and that's why I think they call it Category 6 so they just told us our rooms are ready but we want to check out the ship first yeah because there was nobody uh nobody got off of the ship this morning cuz there wasn't a sailing before this so our rooms are ready look at the mats for the water slide wow all of these slides it's crazy the Flow Rider back here yeah let's go look at that people are already on it oh my God people are already on the floor Rider this is the only floor Rider where the wave faces the opposite direction normally it faces the other way wow yeah aome there's only one on this ship right just this one yeah oh my god look how steep that water slide is that's terrifying that's crazy I think that's one of the drop slides that one is for you to do not me hide away oh my God this is the adult only area called the Hideway oh my God there's spawns in the oh my God you can rent those beds do you have to reserve it in the app my God this pool is amazing we have a view of all the other ships in Miami today cuz ours is so big it Jets out so much yeah oh here's the hot tubs for the Hideaway oh I don't know if I knew that there was hot tubs here well now you do oh is that the mini golf right there wow that's a gorgeous mini golf course yeah that's uh more themed than usual wow that actually looks really cool okay here we are the Hideaway welcoming guests 18 and over yeah 18 and over as it says they're in here and two hot tubs I'm like I don't even know where to look I know I'm just like it's just so new this is big oh yeah this is a really nice area right here wow W this is cool I like the color of the chairs yeah oh okay so those beds at the end there are also for reservation cuz I can see the little pink reservation oh yeah so you have to reserve those beds in the app as well oh my gosh surf side yeah so here's the Hideaway pool with the glass edge and down there is what they call Surf Side they used to call that the boardwalk on a was class but now it's called Surf Side and it's like the kid pool oh my gosh this is so cool yeah so this is the inaugural sailing of the ship there were um a couple of sailings for like media and travel agents but this is the first sailing for paining passengers like us the mini golf actually looks really cool I definitely need to play this there's no zipline on this one and I am noticing inside here is the Wind Jammer underneath of us oh yeah all those all those windows is the Wind Jammer that's not how it typically is on a wa house right it's like up there yeah the carousel's going oh oh yeah there's the carousel right there it looks big yeah oh this is so cool I know base camp is right here which is one of the new like food offerings and I'm seeing nautical flags that we're going to have to decode later oh we will oh so this is like like a a restaurant down here underneath the shade but up there is the basketball court which is a good use of space I think yeah it's nice that o it's nice and Shady shady and also outside which is really nice there's so much food to try in the sh wow I want to look at the menu oh my God the menu actually sounds good waffle chicken nuggets waffle and chicken nuggets cheese curds bow buns grilled chicken sandwich Smashburger wow and there are a couple freebies there's a pretzel and tater tots and stuff that stuff's free the ship is really well decorated like look at the theming there and the thrill Island sign it's really the water park is like I didn't know how beautiful it would be it's really pretty I know all the colors look how steep that slide is the yellow one that's scary that's crazy the view of uh Surf Side I want I almost said Boardwalk it's so cool from over here and all the color with the water slides I think they're doing hair braiding or something this is amazing I'm already kind of Blown Away I'm impressed we could spend s days on this ship I know it's seven night cruise I'm so excited for that here we go look at the iceam deserted milkshake bar are we going in here look at the piatas oh my God they have a little Piñata I'm sure they're like we're not open but look okay we'll come back here later okay we just came inside and the ele this is the elevator bank it's huge this is so cool and it's cool with the palm trees and everything I've never seen an elevator Bank this impressive I know and I'm so glad they have the smart elevators to make it more that was cool okay so now we're going I I think we're going to get a view of Central Park here yes oh my God wait this is insane the color look at those shutters oh my God the shutters look cool down there it looks greener than usual is that just me like Central par like more trees and stuff yeah I don't know and I'm loving this area yeah all the nuts in and stuff down there oh my gosh this pool is gigantic I just love how many chairs are in the water there so this is the largest ship in the world now but here's something crazy I'm going to drop some knowledge I know everybody hates it but drop those facts but here's a crazy fact that I learned I actually had to like check this three times cuz I like this cannot be true this is the largest ship in the world how much larger is it than wonder of the Seas it is only 10 ft longer than wonder of the Seas which is an oasis clust okay I think hot tubs down there or maybe just one hot tub what's down there oh Crown's Edge that's the Crown's Edge there's like a ziplining experience on the logo will be doing that tomorrow I'll be doing it tomorrow will never be doing it cuz I'm afraid sorry to interrupt your fact dropping no it's okay but another thing is this ship has it's you know 10 ft longer than wonder of the Seas it has less State rooms than wonder of the Seas so if you're thinking there's going to be too many people on board there's actually less State rooms so a common measurement that the cruise industry uses is double occupancy which is two people per room and icon has a lower double occupancy than wonder of the Seas I was shocked by that and I kind of like that cuz it means it's bigger slightly but like less crowded potentially with because of that number yeah these hot tubs are beautiful right off the ship they are and it's very interesting how like the deck kind of like juts out then it's open for the the hot tub split yeah like it splits right there this is the swim up bar is yeah so there's like bar seats in the pool oh there's the bar right there oh my God I don't think any other ship or at least for Royal has that they want us to go in oh look at these padded chairs right here too this is cool so they call that the swimming tonic look at the lady jumping oh my God real lady the swimming tonic yeah but you're swimming yeah that's actually cool okay someone's about to jump into Central Park oh wow there's multiple like oh it's like the process maybe oh wait someone's going to jump from up here too it's part of the aqua Show what are we going to do next this is so colorful I know and beautiful lunch lunch let's just keep following a lot yeah it looks so nice even like the painting on there and oh my gosh all the vines on that wall over there you can see the balloons that are going to be dropped later in the promade from the window yeah so that's a window into the prominade yeah you can see the balloons okay let's go get some food in the brand new Aquadome Market we're taking the stairs down one and don't worry they still have the crazy artwork all around and look where we're going yeah the aquad market so this is a concept with like a bunch of different stations a bunch of different what do they call it a food market yeah food market so here's Crepes that's the first one Ginger is like a Asian I think that's what I'm going to want but let's like look at everything first Mac mac and cheese they have feta which is Mediterranean and then toast and garden which think like salad and sandwiches okay yeah wow okay we got our food in the Aquadome market and we took it out into the Aquadome we're going to eat it in the Aquadome here and this is basically think of um what was the Aquadome on Oasis class what was that called the aqua Show I don't know what it was called on the boardwalk on the boardwalk but they put it on the top deck so this is the front of the ship on the very top and it reminds me of the Oasis and the boardwalk but it's different well I mean it's the same concept but it's indoors at the top yeah we're going to watch him practice here but yeah this is so cool the front of the ship at the very top we'll have to explore more but first food yeah so dessert first you got a crepe it looks so good it's strawberry Nutella and then from Ginger you got the teriyaki chicken and there was an option to do noodles or rice so I got noodles but oh yeah I got rice and I got the ginger beef and some spring rolls and then I also got the pepperoni pizza Mac looks pretty Saucy yeah it does from the mac and cheese Booth so let's scarf this down and then keep exploring yeah there's too much to explore I'm really excited to eat this but at the same time it's like I got to I got to keep going and there's so much to eat too like we have to check out other places um I I honestly think the Mac might be a skit but the Asian food is really good Asian food is my favorite grapes are pretty good I've had better but like pretty good um but now I need to find out my fortune and if this is if this says anything other than you're about to have the greatest Cruise of your entire life CU that's a missed opportunity on Royals part oh my God what if it had said something about cruising it should they should like preate these and I should play these numbers on the roulette table 55 I'll play 55 yeah that's not possible okay okay there's nothing that costs so little nor goes so far as courtesy this is the part that I feel like reminds me of Eden on um a scent it's like beautiful foliage everywhere lots of seaing yeah so we're still in the Aquadome we were over there but now we came to the very forward and this is still part of the Aquadome oh that's cool it's like screens to make it look like an aquarium this is cool this is cool so up there is Ryan Bean which is like a coffee shop but then down here there's also a bar oh let's go look at the very forward yeah there it is icon of the Seas there's no helipad on this cruise ship but what does that say wind winch only I think that's for helicopters is it like wind Chopper I don't know winch only so there's no salarium on this ship I think this is the first Royal Caribbean ship without a salarium which is like the adults only area right cuz instead they have the Aquadome which is open for all ages obviously and the Hideway which we saw earlier which is for adults only yeah we just walked up to this little pod area this is like a private hangout area there's like plugs oh my god oh you could like work over here there's AC SE coming into my feet so if you're like needing to cool off and work maybe cuz there's plugs this is like just like a little area in the the Aquadome here that you could just like bring your family to and have like a private area this is cool it's cool like yeah you don't need to reserve this or anything it's just a little section there's another one like right there yeah that's cool oh yeah there's another one so this is hooked it's still in the Aquadome and some of the seats are like outside of the restaurant in the aqu that's pretty cool imagine if they're doing the show and you could eat right here that would be so cool yeah oh my gosh these have plugs too so you're at dinner you need to charge your phone well cuz you're texting a lot during dinner of course don't pay attention to who you're dining with pay attention to your phone that's what I always say that's what I always say too okay so what is that wait is this a jewelry store let's go look there's a jewelry store um in the Aquadome here so I'm obsessed with the dog Rover and I did see one um like video of Rover coming in this store really and they gave her like one of the giant necklaces and like got her to sit in the seat or something like that but look at all the jewelry with the Crown and Anchor logo like how much money is I can't believe that I like the green on like I that's so funny also they have that cup right there do you know the deal with that cup I heard it's like a bajillion dollar it's $100,000 and you get the the beverage package for life like the drink package yeah someone's going to buy it we came out of the Aquadome another person's jumping into Central Park we're going to go do the same but we're not going to jump we're just going to take the elevator here let's do an edit wow I landed so here we are in Central Park um okay first thing the coolest thing isumi in the park let's go check this out so this is like Quick Service isumi which we love the idea of that eating that in the Park Quick Service style amazing oh there's the window right there to get it so two of our favorite appetizers from isumi are here the dumplings and the chicken carag what's your favorite sushi that you usually get I'm not really a sushi person but um the one I usually get is not on there oh they have Bubble cones oh what that's cool they also have the Japanese soda oh that's cool yeah and here's a look into the Pearl I'm honestly surprised how big the Pearl is and then there's the Pearl Cafe down there oh wow Pearl Cafe yeah so like Pearl Cafe replaces the um prominade or Cafe prominade yeah we haven't even seen that yet but we're like looking down on it there's too much to look at these rocking chairs are nice yeah they have forward and apt signs to help you figure out which way is which cuz sometimes you get a little loss when you're on your you know this is cool icon of the Seas 2024 I'm in the center of the ship and then over there on my left is Park Cafe which of course probably has oh yeah I see the sign for the roast beef sandwich I saw it through the window of course they have that okay it's going to be a white wall oh I L that you know on one of our cruises you like look through and it was like but no this is actual binoculars the Pearl Cafe is really big wow you're right there who's working yeah people are working are they crazy look how many people are working on the first day of vacation they must work for Royal C because like what are you doing but also the window is so big in there too there's not normally a huge window in the prominade like that you know what it is it looks like maybe it's like the dining reservation people or something oh maybe maybe maybe yeah maybe I made that up what's really cool about the sailing um because this is the inaugural sailing with pain passengers it's at 80% capacity cuz they didn't want to like started at 100% right off the B they don't want to overwhelm themselves they want to ease into it so they're going to like yeah like slowly ramp up to 100% but ours is 80 which I think is awesome we didn't know that until like yesterday yeah so at the end of Central Park there's a jazz bar oh and I guess you're going in is this the Dueling Piano one or is that different I think that's different wow there's Jazz and there's Pian there's so many different venues I'll never understand why they put like a fancy shop up there's like high-end jewelry and watches and stuff nobody's in that but everybody at all the restaurants and stuff so okay so on the same deck as Central Park you can walk to the end and get to surfs side they're making everything so much more easily accessible because normally you'd have to go down the staircase and then out onto the boardwalk but now you can come right out they have a staircase right here for you to go down this is so much bigger than the boardwalk it's kind of the same concept of the boardwalk but it's it's much whiter I love Mr Flamingo yeah I can't believe how much wher it is it's beautiful too like so colorful I'm going to hold your backpack because I'm going down the slide if you want to get down why take the stupid stairs when you could take the slide the dry slide there's actually a few different dry slides around the ship so you don't have to take the stairs you can just take the slide oh my God it's fast it's fast oh my God I thought I was going to get rug burn and then I also noticed there's a little bit of wet right there and I was like oh no it's not a someone got so scared they peed that was really fun Surf Side is actually surprising me it's actually it's pretty cool it's cool there's like a Tetris thing on the wall over there that's the arcade oh um and then down by the flamingo that's the entrance to Royal prominade it seems everything is like so much closer somehow so much easier to access also there's some like fun people like that person's making balloons there's a guy that's dressed up all fun yeah this is a new restaurant called Surfside eery and then there's the carousel over here here should I go on it and then they have this place which is Surfside bites which is seems like it's like the dogghouse kind of yeah cuz there's hot dogs but there's also Pizza french fries popcorn chicken what I'm smelling though is the cinnamon sugar churros do you smell that yeah should we get one they're hot there's three of them we got some churros they look adorable it's free now we go to Disney a lot so we know about churros from Disney we know that Disneyland has better churos than Disney World Disney World or Disneyland quality world but not worse than Disney World okay that's good it's like Disney World yeah so if they have a fancy um lemonade stand with alcoholic drinks and I think like um non-alcoholic lemonade drinks and then the kid pool right here and then Pier 7 basically replaces Johnny Rockets there's no Johnny Rockets here but there's Pier 7 which is an upcharge restaurant buttermilk pancake board seems like things are about like $10 each and then so this is where the aqua Show would be on Oasis class but instead it's the kid pool well actually it's for famili that anybody can go in it so this is the Lemon post uh Lemonade Stand okay so this is alcoholic I want the non it looks really cool though so there's that alcoholic side and I guess over here is the non-alcoholic oh here's the non-alcoholic oh they have like it's like fancy lemonade like watermelon lemonade this is so fun yeah it's for kids but it's actually for us it's actually for us this makes me really excited and happy yeah they should do more of this they really should it kind of looks like these ones down here are like Capri ones cuz they're the picture is like it's a bag and it's for little Sailors and this one has gummies in it which is exciting but they all have gummies so these are all $5 and this is $7 this one has Swedish fish in it wow that's cool I know which one I'm getting and we can probably use our Diamond drink vouchers to get that be cool I hope so okay we're going to head down the cool stairs cool stairs to the Royal prominade cuz I need some Starbucks of course they have that one brand with the the whale but they it says icon that's cool I'm going to get that which one uh I don't know I thought they were sweatshirts from afar but now they're like long sleeve shirts oh my God there's Playmakers oh wait that's oh wait let's go over there let's go inside instead of just like peering through the window like creeps okay once the store is open and we leave PT I need to get some of this icon merch look how blingy it is these were the ones we were looking at this is actually cool I don't know what brand of this is but it's cool I feel like I should know like I recognize the whale but me too but I don't know what brand and then here's Playmakers which is the sports bar oh and arcade this is fun I'm like just so so surprised how different this is than Oasis class it's actually a lot different and I feel like it's going to take a while for me to like understand where everything is yeah fooseball pool table they have some retro arcade games back there that's fun I'm sure this is going to be packed for the people watching the NFL playoffs yeah they even have Mario Kart oh they have the um the like owner's box thing where you can rent it out like rent it out in like privately for your family absolute zero oh this is the ice rank right off of play oh they have the the um shuffle board absolute zero for absolutely 0° it's so cold it feels so good though but yeah my like my hair I'm sure it's like yeah so the ice skating rink isn't in the usual spot it's down over here it's and it's a circle you know I really wonder I'd love to chat with an ice skater but like is by making it a circle instead of a rectangle does it make it easier for them to skate I think it probably does CU I think yes because yeah on noasis in Freedom class it's it's just a square it's a rectangle they usually have to like go around the edge and then they can do their thing and now they have a lot more Edge to go around and now if they're doing the free skate it's easier just to go in a circle yeah this is actually cool feels so good in here go and there's entrances to the Royal prominade oh I was really expecting the ship to be so similar to Oasis class literally because it seems like it's like Central Park Boardwalk which is renamed it's got that same like split I like this is the same it's actually a lot different and it's better we'll see it's it's only day one we're like an hour into day one I can't really fathom the fact that we have seven days on this Cruise because like we we're so used to doing short cruises and like oh I'm just so excited they have a scooner bar they have to or else they can't they're not allowed to sail the ship or something the fans Revolt yeah the fans Revolt I don't smell anything I'll smell the ropes like a freak it doesn't have that smell and even though I'm like right here I don't smell smell the smell none of the ropes have tar they're all like this tan color instead of the tar color so I don't think it's got that smell it doesn't have the smell it just has that new ship smell the Starbucks is like right kind of like in the open in the prominade it's kind of cool okay this is what I've been waiting for for years is that you are here or been there series mugs oh my God I kind of the SE I'm buying this right now if they let me look how cool the water park looks oh my God the water park um The Hideaway I don't even know all this stuff yet this is so the pear the Pearl aqu plan makers sentos if they let me buy this I'm buying this right now because I don't want them to sell out yeah um I'm just so glad they have mugs H ships it's amazing dream come true they let me buy it and I I just asked Brian if he wanted me to put it in my bag and he was like no I have to carry it around as a status symbol I've officially been on the ship now I think they're going to sell out oh yeah for sure sure there's a guy breaking into the prominade over here I think they have the CEO names on here yeah I think those are the executives of Royal yeah that's kind of cool this is cool this guy's a little weird though yeah he's scaring me a little he's going to scare overover okay so they have an escalator in the prominade here says welcome to Icon but what's cool about this is it's going to cut down some of the traffic using the elevators yes cuz it's on the main floors so here's the casino it looks really fancy really doesn't it look really upscale oh you know what's funny they have a Wizard of Oz slot machine because there's a Wizard of Oz show on the ship that's fun I bet these are going to be really popular on the nights that they have that show going on that is so funny so at the end of the casino is the music hall with really cool glass doors yeah these are cool it smells good in here yeah it almost smells like the way that the skooner bar should smell you know what I think it is it's probably the wood FL FL oh yeah okay so this is a onetime only thing we are going to split our day into two parts because there's a lot of excitement for this ship and this will let us share our experience faster
