[Music] [Applause] [Music] yes hey everybody welcome to the munich mash 2022 our seventh edition and today we have the bmx final men's here at the olympia park in munich germany fantastic weather today 27 28 degrees celsius slight wind not enough to affect the performance of our athletes on this mini ramp here but it is going to be a banger day we're going to have an elimination round and then a final round so let's check out the format for today yeah basically we're starters basically we're starting off seven riders uh it's gonna be two runs for the elimination and it's gonna be best run counts that means with the elimination we're weeding down to half the field it was supposed to be eight but unfortunately we have one rider not starting so seven riders leading down to four riders and then we're going to finish off the finals of that elimination which is going to be two runs each but it's the best of both runs so so it's it's an average of both runs which puts a lot of pressure actually on all the athletes to be able to deliver in those two final runs yeah and every single one will count there you see daniel darris but before all that let's have a look at this course that they're going to be riding it is the mini ramp designed by iou ramsen andrea schutzenberger should see and there it is right there in all its glory lots of stuff can be done on here so as you're checking it out it's not a normal park course it's more like a mini ramp with a couple extra features we have the magic eye bank uh the mash wall it's about getting up to two and a half meters high we have this curved sub box feature we also have a large elevated almost two meter tall sub box it's categorized as five meters up that's from floor level so we have the ramp plus the wall um a lot of interesting features we have the spine in the middle but yes it is primarily a mini ramp which means that it is going to dominate or riders that are going to be able to execute on the transitions are going to be able to dominate within this contest format all right to get a rider's eye view of this we have two riders that did a run on the course for us and give you a personal course preview let's check that out right now hello we are here in munich math 2022 i'm lara i'm van nocks and that's the course preview freddy she's starting on the main quarter going over the spine regular air on the other side of the ramp over the spine again try tap okay lenox dropped iron transfer bubble air transfer back footprint on a wall another tata flowing around that was the course preview enjoy the show beautiful course preview from the two german young guns uh linux in the contest lennox and laura yeah of course lennox is one of the youngest i've ever seen in professional contests uh running 14 years young and so yeah one of the german hopefuls he's qualified in sixth place for um this final here today so checking out the judging criteria overall impression use of course difficulty of the tricks they're doing how they execute the tricks the style of course and the originality and the originality i think is going to play a key role here with the uh the way that this particular mini ramp setup is laid out and there we see our judges bart de young marcus vilke and axel jurgens party young has judged at the x games he works for fat bmx network and he owns the european bmx connection marcus vicky been around forever he judges that the summer olympics in tokyo 2020 he's a street world champion from back in 1993 in france and uh he's the owner of freedom bmx the largest bmx magazine to give information in germany and axel jurgen is well known in the bmx scene host of the euro camp and a judge at the bmx freestyle world com and there you see our start list running with three germans in the mix starting off with chikran superman uh 20 years young 22 years old coming from dresden lennox zimmerman like i said 14 years old also german sergio laos 36 years old from madrid spain dean florian 20 years old from touring in tom justice 32 year olds from nottingham uk kieran reilly who we saw dominate and win uh on our best trick contest yesterday he's topped himself up with the double flare and then went into the 360 double tailwhip to double bars been so super excited to see what he has coming up into the final runs and then none other than uh world-renowned venezuelan daniel dares uh oldest writer in a competition but still dominating and qualifying in first position here but we're going to start things off with chicaron right now he's about ready to drop getting the crowd up on their feets in munich starting with a beautiful style as we had mentioned before he has huge amplitude and a really uh tall stature giving him a nice position over the bike has kind of a street setup and was one of the few riders that you'll see riding pegs actually on his bike we had noted that actually wow beautiful 540. you see the way he pops over has a lot of lip slides 360 bar spin to x up popping super nice into the transition here he does a bit of that street influence some fakie utilizing that free coaster going for another 5 40 spin with a couple seconds left lost a bit of the flow after that fakie in but uh the first part of that i mean we could say the first 40 seconds or so of that run was flowy and big with some nice lofty air some great style in there so a real good job by sigrin check out that first 540 on the high part of the half pipe beautiful rotation just so calm and collected also coming at it with no breaks the way that he kind of lands in rear to nose really liking the way that he can keep the flow going and the momentum super nice riding style right there not quite getting the bar spin variation that he was maybe going for one and that's one thing that the judges bart and everyone included are going to be watching for is if a rider is able to execute off every single time that they are in the air that's something that if you're wanting to get one of those top three positions you definitely need to be able to execute a trick up every single time that you take off the ground up the young man lennox zimmerman who had an insane double back flip yesterday over the spine zimmerman 360 whip over the spine coming a little hanging up a tiny bit alley-oop bar spin the kid has such nice flow and he may be young but has a lot of contest history in his belt he's been training all over germany came first i believe um at one of the contests earlier this year in berlin was everything myself there wasn't double backflip it was a backflip double tail wasn't it uh it was a backflip tail whip over the spine which i believe was the first time he did that came with a hard crash looked like he hurt his wrist a tiny bit but came back nice and calm zimmerman really flown through the course ensuring that he has a lot of style and control on that bike that was a nice clean run as well that went by fast i felt like it went by really fast yeah if you guys are wondering what the times are it's a mini ramp contest so we're not at the usual 60 second park uh format it's 45 seconds per run um and each rider is going to be able to get two runs in this elimination round that means that if they are able to step on top for one of the top four spots they make it through to the finals and the finals is going to be a two run best of both runs so the average outscore exactly waiting for the score to come in for zimmerman 58 3-3 puts him in to second position there behind looking forward to this next rider sergio leos getting ready to drop in interesting guy coming out of spain super fun to watch ride i was renaming him another guy's name yesterday so now that we got this all straight wearing the waterboy helmet here we go he can fly as well absolutely has incredible style and um he's been doing this for a long time sergio has been at it and has such a beautiful style on the bmx bike it's so comfortable check out how deep down that 360 is has so much amplitude and flow look at how he pops over into the quarter pipe into the halfpipe section from that spine huge alley-oop invert sergio really showing that park flow influence that he's had for so many years on the bmx bike blasting attack no hander out of the top side of that uh out of the high part of the quarter pipe there starting to jump in for some use points on the other side over the spine toboggan downside 360 really dipping the nose down beautiful look back on the quarter pipe alley-oop four seconds left and finishing things off super solid with a bat with a flare on the quarter pipe and then ending things with a bar spin as he didn't hit the hit the buzzer yet at that moment that was a stellar run from sergio let's take a couple look backs wow there was that alley-oop invert onto the satellite dish he floats so much through the course the judges are really gonna reward him for the utilization of the par and here still throwing some of the big tricks perfect flare into a bar spin so as sergio doesn't maybe have some of the larger combination tricks he definitely makes up for those points in course utilization and amplitude as he sits in the first place right now the 7566 so a lot of position changing going on here right away in the contest as we'll get ready to drop our next rider dean florian steen florian also is showing a lot of tricks uh in yesterday's best trick contest let's see how he can pull them all together into one run [Music] cedilla's coming from dread from uh battleberg actually [Applause] yeah 360 bar spin over the spine to start things off into a 360 tail perfectly landing on that transition popping up so much amplitude and that flare bar spin yes in a nice indian air indian rc grab into a manual bar spin on that curved sub box 360 bar spin over the spine and a nice table top yeah 360 double bar spin into a flare packing the tricks in here side whip downside whip and just getting some tricks in for that foot jam now having to pump a little bit more tailwind to foot jam yeah deep finally showing yes oh my god what a run from dean florian that is insane setting it off here in munich for the match dean florian i can't imagine that's going to be anything below uh 75 perhaps even 80 points i'm no judge but i definitely think dean is going to get into the 80s with that score and he's going to be the one to beat us we're moving forward uh really showcasing a lot of tricks but i'm not too sure how he's going to be able to hold this up for three more runs as i said the ride is all going to have to go for four runs if they're making it into the finals and with a run like this i definitely think dean's making it into the finals all right let's see what the judges have to say about dean florian's points here as he gives a nice big wave to the audience really looked like he put it all out an 82-66 it's going to be the one to beat right now good job for dean all right so far we've had just a change of top spot all the way along here's a fun man tom justice he's always out there having a good time from notting hill uk represent 33 years old old was also doing a bunch of interesting lip tricks in yesterday's best trick contest really using his own style and that's what we really like to see in bmx it's an expression of yourself and it doesn't mean that just because the trend goes to big tricks means that you have to go into that big trick section there's a lot of ways to showcase how good you are on the bmx bike com definitely does have those big tricks though 360 and a lot of amplitude also so much flow beautifully clicked turned down wall ride see how he just slides over with his rear wheel on the lip there beautiful execution going for an opposite 360 there over ice on the spine a couple seconds left 270 in over ice here's he's showcasing a lot of this beautiful lip tricks a bit more of the old school 80s influence but mixing it up with today's 2000 style really nice interpretation of what bmx freestyle is by tom justice there and a great craig russell wall ride up there as well when he tapped on the very edge hopefully we'll get a look at that again yeah there's that slide you were talking about that was birdie that 360 pushing into the tail web had a lot of banging tricks there's that craig grasso style hooking it up right there with the peg on the edge of the wall smith smith vertically beautiful beautiful connection there let's see how the judges are saying 84 33 so i was wondering i was gonna mention this it didn't maybe look like it was as jam-packed with tricks as dean but it was a lot more composed he had so much more bike control through the entire run and that's something that the judges are clearly noticing well a writer who has composure but also the big tricks riding for red bull kieran riley from newcastle uk he's 20 years old he's one of our youngest competitors in the contest for one of the most incredible competitors in bmx he won best trick last night he did win best trick he came and upped himself he did a double flare and then came back for a 360 double whip to double bar spin on the spine let's see what he gets here you can already see so jam-packed with all these tricks alley-oop tail whip 360 double bar spin he has so much tricks in that bag endless bar spins it seems smooth as butter as well top side tail whip out of the dish bar spin you can see that kieran has been practicing for contests for a very long time every single time he's in the air he has some kind of trick variation 360 tail to bar spin double tail up over the spine seven seconds left and it hasn't ended yet going for a 540. and one more trick a bar spin out of the gate there you go that one after the buzzer the tail is not going to count but give it up for kieran riley that was a an incredibly clean run now my question is here how are the judges going to look at this because i mean there was jam pack will it be enough to take over where tom justice he packed his full of all sorts of different tricks and really mixed it up with a lot of air tricks as well as a lot of lip tricks and some individual and creative style yeah you're totally right troy i mean this is the point where i would not want to be a judge you have two riders with complete different styles if you both saw them in the park you would love to be able to watch both of them it's incredible but here we see the judges are rewarding the tricks a bit more 87 6-6 kieran raleigh definitely setting a lot of those combinations into his run and a rider who knows how to put combinations on the map since the 90s is daniel darris he's been going at it contest after contest he has every gold medal in the history books that i think you can even think of daniel darros from venezuela has been dominating bmx for over 10 years and he still continues to do so out here at the munich match in 2022 he qualified in first position which means that he has awarded himself the opportunity to watch all the riders draw before he goes in to do his first run here daniel darris let's see how he starts off this guy is a legend [Applause] as i was saying combinations really are something that the judges are watching for as we've noticed a score from kieran reilly daniel dares has basically invented the combination tricks in contest you see every single time he's up in the air there's something going on not once but twice 360 tail oh and that is uh oh that's unusual very uncanny for daniel darius to slip off on a flare like that but daniel darius being a rider who is more comfortable and more uh confident riding possibly on the larger bmx courses the park courses uh as this is maybe more of a mini ramp contest it's something a bit out of the ordinary for daniel to be performing at but still as you see he has so many tricks [Applause] and is able to ride anything on that bmx bike so just throwing a couple more things in there for practice he knows that's going to be kind of a washed run as as you see in as you see in bmx all right there's that beautiful tail three over the spine and uh yeah i mean you know we were talking about this earlier it's a combined score here so they really need to be consistent throughout all of the runs and here in riley at the moment with the lead at 87.66 daniel dares i can't imagine that he's going to get that high score that he needs to take over the top spot for the moment but i think he'll probably be in and among the top four [Music] let's see what the judges have to say here as the scores come up and yeah there you go top top five 73.66 for daniel dares so uh that puts him in a bit of a situation going into the second run as he needs to have an absolute killer in the second run in order to gain the points that he needs to be on top of that stand well after the first run kieran reilly you see on top followed by tom justice dean florian sergio laos daniel darris chicran and lennox rounding up the top seven so some riders we are very confident are able to bump themselves up so after run two let's see who's going to be able to switch things up um it is an overall uh both run are going to count an average score from both the eliminator and the finals let's see what chakram can do here he has such a cool style i know he has a ton of big tricks and is able to get that amplitude and speed out so let's see what he has in run number two flowing real high big flare into a big look back tire grab utilizing every inch of the skate park here little tire tap there tuck no hander landing low and you see he's gonna have to regain some speed but he still gets time to do a double bar spin 540 bar big invert hooked up though hooking up on that backflip over the spine doubletail but just slipping a pedal and that's probably gonna do it [Applause] seeing as we're not really math guys in here well at least i don't know about you but i'm not uh we're gonna get our review here then look at the scores and they'll give us the positions after the two scores have been tabulated and averaged out [Music] there you go that's a bit of that hang up he had a couple bubbles within the transitions a few overshoots and a few uh cases and then also that pedal slip on the doubletail whip i think he was really trying to push for a couple of those tricks where he didn't have the speed and amplitude for the judges will note that of course and he's going to get a 70.66 in his second run giving himself an average score of 69.03 [Music] all right moving on to lennox zimmerman up next no that's not linux we'll wait for uh him to drop the young man zimmerman right here about to drop you see his first run scores 58 3-3 big amplitude wow blasting that back flip bar spin you saw he had so much amplitude he almost overshot the spine ali alley boris ben [Music] imagine when this uh 14 year old boy gets older stronger and bigger how much of a threat he's going to be on that bike oh absolutely i couldn't imagine to be able to ride with this much poise on a bike um at 14 years old i was just kind of learning how to do things i mean most people are i was just out of diapers at 14 damn wow i mean it's absolutely incredible that he can he can muster this much control of the bmx bike but also to be able to put so much style in those opposite airs and the straight airs he just looks so confident about bmx bike and like you said wait until he is the biggest threat in bmx in a couple years to come it's going to be incredible to watch back the bar spin there you saw the height on that so 5833 was lenox's first score we are seeing the average uh coming out of both runs particularly was a 69-3-3 the average is going to be a 61-5-0 for lennox [Music] all right as we're moving forward to sergio i believe he's hitting with the 75-66 from his first run score so if anybody can really pick up the pace here and uh jam a big score in for himself at sergio kearney's gonna need it at the moment currently ranked in fourth position sergio we said sergio has been doing this for so long he is so comfortable fighting parts like this wow it's so huge up with that inverted foot plan blasting that alley-oop turn down wow the way that he flows across the park in almost one jump on each side it's so cool it's so so beautiful to watch that's really what kind of park style is about that toboggan look at how he just throws the seat past the shins really makes sure that the bars are tweaked down to 90 degrees so taking a very different approach that's going to be i believe that was after the buzzer the the true rule is you're going to be have to have to have your front wheel at least on the take off of the ramp as you're going up for the last trick if the buzzer sounds but we'll actually leave it up to barton fellow judges up there to say if that one's going to count but sergio definitely taking a calmer approach to his second run really flowing through the park doing his own thing not pulling a lot of tricks but having so much confidence and style on the bike just having fun out there [Applause] so he'll hold on to fourth place with a 75.83 [Music] and dean florian up next dean currently sitting in third place let's see if we can stay consistent or pick up the pace a little bit here okay dean starting things strong 360 double tail whip oh coming up very short on that big mistake from dean let's see if he's able to come back yeah looks like he's composed himself again but landing very low on that flareweb transition so as we saw from the first run dean really lost a lot of points from not being able to have composure in all the tricks that he was doing he was losing uh some transition space and subsequently some points even though he had some of the biggest tricks that we saw throughout the throughout the first runs he was oh not able to hold together two seconds left not quite able to hold it all together uh into the into his second run here some big tricks still i don't think he's gonna be pushing the 80s with that second run but for sure gonna get another nice score to even up his average taking a couple replay look that's where it all kind of went wrong he went for a wall tap or something and just hung up tremendously didn't quite get the wall get to the wall but able to get this flare whip out of the bag also able to do some nice lip tricks like this double tail to foot jam so 7966 an 81 16 ranked third place [Applause] so really good positioning that dean has put himself in uh hopefully getting into the finals right there there's one man that's able to bump him out actually i i believe at this point at this going to be sergio dean um i know actually there's a puzzle if daniel if daniel can put it together he maybe goes down to fourth position but looks like he's going to get himself a position in let's see what tom does though sergio laos at the moment is on the bubble taking the top four slide sergio beautiful lip slide opposite 360. top side whip [Music] picked up the pace on this one tom justice a little bit on his second run here over foot jam and then going for some of the lip lip tricks that he is doing at the ends of his run [Music] the judges like to see diversity so you have riders sometimes that are just doing errors every single time you have riders who are like hey i have i have a bit of all the diversity within my with my bmx so i'm going to show you some of my lip tricks as well some of my air tricks and that's also very good cool [Music] that puts him in second place and the average score of 82. [Music] also kieran reilly at the moment in the lead [Music] as we have another solid second run here as we mentioned kieran won best trick yesterday had two of the hugest tricks that you can do possibly on this bmx course and you can see that within his riding i mean out of the gate his first run was incredible in this second run you just see jam pack double combinations on all these that see as he flows back over the spine to get some speed double tail of air out of that 360 tuck no hander 360 double bar spin over the spine what else has he got out of you double bar gaining some speed to come back with that transfer tail whip bar spin and getting a bit more speed into the top section here off the wall 360 double whip looks like he was maybe going for something else in that 360 bar to tabletop bar spin to foot jam this is going to do it that flare look at how precise he was had tricks right to the buzzer yeah he had that time down to the minute or well the second [Music] 8766 i believe karen was first round score was 87.66 yeah sitting with so let's see if he's able to kind of stay in that category i think he was i i believe this run was almost even cleaner than the post one but i don't know it had such uh susta combinations but 86.33 a little bit lower with a nice average of an 87 even an easy first position for the moment but the only person that's really at risk here right now is sergio leos with daniel dares coming up so daniel darris needs to jump in with a good high 80s in order to get among the top four that's going to move on in fact i think he needs to be probably close to an 89 or a 90 if he wants to be able to pump into the fourth spot with an average score and kick out sergio leo so there's a little bit of pressure on daniel dares and now sergio leos will be sitting back there holding his breath watching this run from the master himself but one rider who's always able to deliver under pressure it's none other than daniel darris you can never write him off of the books 360 tailwhip he has such unique style whoa pulling it out he knows he needs to cork 720 one of the signature tricks that download this is perfected through his bmx career 360 double tail whip really setting things off he knows that he wants to take out kieran that top spot let's see because both runs have to count for an average here he has to do a huge run in this second round taylor from daniel darris alley-oop tuck no hander 360 x up every time he's in the air he has some kind of trick that he is doing 360 tuck to a hand or flare tuck no hander and to the buzzer one more trick let's see bar spin tire tap ice back in daniel darris delivers under pressure and the question is is it going to be enough to push out sergio from the finals so he's gonna need about uh 90 points to average this out to get him into the top four here after that run though i would not be surprised if the judges saw him through to the final [Music] so you see these are some of the biggest tricks something that we'd be uh expecting to see in the finals that daniel was having to pull out here that court 720 that flare talk no hander a lot of huge combinations that we really are just expecting for those last couple runs because they have so much risk involved but daniel putting through a very solid run showing why he has been doing this for some and how he has been doing this for so many years and staying on top of the leaderboard always [Music] [Music] so he just squeaks in there pushing sergio leos out he had a 7966 that means sergio leo 75.83 is not quite enough he'll be gutted about that but daniel dares did what he needed to do and there you see kieran riley tom justice dean florian and daniel dares will be moving on to the super final so a big shout out to all our uh bmx competitors coming out here and doing it sergio lagos uh superman and lennox zimmerman of course who are not going to be able to do another run but let's take a couple look backs at some of the highlights here from this first elimination round of the finals daniel daryl who just went popping off that 720 dean florian also had some incredible tricks he's ranked third place and gonna be into our finals let's see what he can do also tom justice he's put in third uh part of me uh dean was in i think dean is in fourth now and tom is in third place kieran is in first place some players some people there and he's got first place tom's got second dean florian third and daniel darrow's based on average score got fourth place ah correct correct sorry i was uh mixing that up in my notes here [Music] wow so pac look it look at the crowd out here in the sunshine blistering at the beautiful olympic stadium in munich germany welcome if you guys are just tuning in it's 2022 we're back doing live events and sports events finally finally finally things are going back to normal and we have once again i think for the seventh year running the munich match so nice to be back with yourself troy um and back on the mic how's it been how's the whole how's the whole weekend been of contest here at the munich match well i mean it's been jam-packed we have wakeboard we have skateboard and of course we have bmx and we have great crowds here uh on friday we had a little bit of inclement weather for the wakeboard eliminations and team contest or rookies rather and team contest but it did stop raining in time for us to get that going and uh after that the weather has been stellar the entire weekend long we still have one more contest here for the bmx guys and that is the final coming up in just a couple of minutes when we reset our ranking here and get the guys out on course and then after that at 4pm today we are going to have the final contest of the day and that is the wakeboard contest the final there for the men's the women's uh and our wild card rookies jumping in there as well so great job by all our guys here who have organized this to make sure that we have a stellar event and of course if you're not here just for the sports you can always walk through the whole festival area there's a ton of stuff to see and do there is a ninja warrior parkour course for kids out there there's lots of toys for all the boys and girls to play on uh if you're if you're a little bit bigger and you like to you know work on your balances balance boards and of course there is the beauty of the nature here people are getting into the boats and the paddleboard boats and coming on over and checking out the ramp from the water side and of course sitting on the amphitheater grass steps there just to enjoy some of the beautiful munich weather that we're enjoying today i mean what an incredible city one of the most nature loving and eye-opening cities that germany has to offer one of the metropolitan places if you haven't been here it's like we're basically centered in uh park like uh central park but it has tons of hills little lakes beautiful nature and scenery in this incredible city with so much to offer and it's so fun to come back and do an event every time also in the lake you have the wakeboard contest which is just so incredible to watch they have um they have a pulley system uh where the where the rope basically pulls them back and forth is of course you can see daniel up there blistering in the heat it's been just like we're middle of summer out here in germany right now we've been blessed with such incredible weather uh in the 30s throughout the whole entire country for the last month basically so we're just blessed to have a contest back here and the writers are having so much fun basically spending most of their european tour time out here in this country and so cool to be able to host them to the munich match and of course there's so many other contests uh coming your way if you guys are staying in germany there's also going to be the uh european championship which is going to be held here in august and there's so much stuff going on in europe but if you guys want to stay tuned make sure you make it over to the munich mash social media accounts and just make yourself heard and watch all the stuff that's uh going on or all our content has uh interesting interactive features that you can you can get going with in munich hashtag munich mash and stay involved with some of the contest action all right we're just waiting for our uh revamped wrist list i think they're gonna re-rack as you say uh the guys in the four positions here from uh fourth to first so daniel dares theoretically should start our final here so we'll just confirm that in a second once we get a graphic with the list so it should be daniel dares then dean florian then tom justice and then kieran riley that man right there that you see in the blue shirt daniel darris in the back there with the white tank top yeah so two ways of really looking at uh doing the contest is a way like daniel where you know daniel does not compete too often in an investor contest he knows that there's such a high risk of injury or uh messing something up in investor contest like this he just decides uses to stay out and focus on to the contest a young writer like um pardon like kieran riley for instance he just has so much energy and he really wants to showcase all the tricks that he has that he's been thinking about and he's out there at every single moment trying to ride and do this stuff but he also award himself a first place and was able to get a huge boost in his confidence by doing two of the biggest tricks out on that course i think that's gonna be playing in his head he knows that he has the ability to do these two big tricks that nobody else in the contest is able to do and he's already done that yesterday so that's going to give him a big advantage being the last rider to drop watching all the competitors go into this final round that said daniel dares is a man you never want to second guess when he's uh on point there's no beating him but daniel going first right now tough job for him tough job definitely amongst the four riders here but as you saw in the last run a man who is able to deliver under pressure really just squeaking by with that average score it was very difficult for him to have a crash in the first run and then come back and make it into this final and it's going to be another average score from these two runs in finals so you guys are getting ready to see uh eight runs right now from four riders daniel starting [Music] all right starting things off here daniel dears [Applause] okay pardon me we're just getting word actually that the finals uh has been told there it's gonna be a best run count so what i was saying about the average score is actually not true for what daniel has to do all these riders have to then deliver just one one run that is solid they're able to have one wash run and one solid run out of this final here so the elimination was the average score and this final is just the best run counter which makes a lot more sense [Applause] pretty solid run from daniel there's there saw one small i don't want to call it a mistake but uh on that it was like an alley-oop flare almost it was strange let's see if i can point it out here [Music] wow huge run from daniel dares and not many bubbles at all it's gonna be really hard for the judges to set their uh scoreboard based off of this first run because it was so high they don't want to give daniel too high of a score they also don't want to give them too low of a score it's really kind of the hardest score to make is that first one and if you have a run that's potentially uh running for first place that's going to be difficult but the award have been 84 even [Music] so daniel with a solid run wow the amplitude from dean at the moment insane dean floyd yes let's see if he can clean up some of those transitions that he was a little sketchy on yeah beautiful sea grab indiana and then manual to manual over the curved curved sub box [Music] heavy landing flare tail whip and just slipping a pedal on that he was a little low getting some more speed [Music] and that's gonna do it not a bad run from dean we've seen better a couple of small mistakes in there so uh he's gonna have to uh probably depend on run number two we'll see what kind of a score the judge has given but he started off with some mega amplitude there yeah i mean dean has such a nice uh flow in the park it would really be great to see him just kind of calm down those those nerve that nervous system and be able to land perfectly on some of those transitions because that really seems to be the fault maybe he he has a few too big of tricks that he's trying to pull uh he's sitting with the 7566 he's super happy i mean a man who always has a beautiful smile on his face and he's really enjoying his life out here being able to ride his bmx bike for a living so cool to see all these guys actually coming out here getting paid to do their thing not the worst thing not the worst thing at all just riding your bike for fun in the sunshine uh i mean it could could think of a lot worse jobs rolling in throughout your entire life and tom he's also been doing it tom's been doing justice on the bmx bike for over 30 years nice 360 tuck no hander nice big trick he has a lot of flow also and so much confidence you can see the way that he's hitting almost all the transitions perfectly opposite 360 there a tail whip so much experience as well yeah he has a really good flow throughout the park and as you can see he's just really composed flare slowing down a little bit for some of these lip tricks now yeah 540 foot jam i think on the on the coping there front front wheel incredible sweet it looks like he stoked with that one tom that was a really nice run super well composed a lot of trick diversity utilizing every little inch of the park as well it's going to be a tough one for the judges he didn't have the largest combination trick so i definitely don't think he's going to be busting the top two but definitely going to be able to push into the 80s i think with a clean run like that 886 nice 80.66 tom good job out there [Applause] all right up next is kieran the man who is currently or while leading into this final here the only man to be able to push past 85 points he's sitting with an 87 from his uh first first two runs and overall there so you can see that he's able to award himself enough points with the judges off of all these tricks and combinations that he's doing starting it big with the flare bar has been 540 double bar spin let's see how many combinations he can get out here lift tricks with the bar spin to foot jam truck driver [Music] getting some speed with a threesome double bar to pardon me double whip to bar spin oops had a bit of a problem going over that gap [Applause] kieran getting a bit more speed here [Music] is a blast yeah 360 bar spin to tail blending very low however on that spine losing a lot of momentum yeah coming back with that flare tail whip into a 540 and that's gonna do it for kieran riley not the best run that we saw him do today but a very solid run that's going to be putting him in probably the top two positions that was a solid run very solid and like again to the second yes very well timed you see that a lot of these riders are going out to the content to the park courses and putting the stopwatch on and making sure that they are that they're ending with um all right kieran reilly see what he got here for points did we get a score from him yet no [Music] okay we've got a discussion in the judges box there so waiting anxiously for his score trying to see what's going on the judges really want to make sure that they're doing the leaderboard accurately karen really anxious in that position wondering what are the judges talking about up there what what have i done do i need to go have a discussion yeah it's tough i mean you know you're waiting on the on the call from the judges yeah exactly what [Music] giving everybody a bit of a break not sure if that's good or bad well i wonder what they could be actually adding up over there if we're having some some different no i think we give the judges as much time as they need actually to kind of make their rounds and do something let's check take a look at some of the highlights again from kieran 360 bar to tail that's where he landed very low in that spine more or less flat yeah but still getting so much speed back somehow out of that one jump to be able to do that flare whip into 540. you just see he has so much muscle in him he's got so much power yeah he will generate it [Music] basically thrust thrust the legs on the transitions let's hopefully get the leaderboard coming in yeah three wow 83 so like i said put himself in one of the top two positions daniel darris with the lead at the moment with 84 but just one point ahead of kieran with another run to come now remember these aren't going to be averaged as they were in the elimination round earlier now they are best run count so daniel dares right up on top but only by one point tom justice just three points back of kieran riley in second and uh dean florian there on the the fourth spot spot there just outside of a podium with 75.66 so all of these guys still have an opportunity here in the second runs plus in the second runs they'll have three chances to do their last trick so if they make a mistake or if they want to improve on or double it up or something like that it's kind of like a mini best best trick contest at the end of their run [Music] you see the crowd is just stoked the venezuelan flag they got a big fan club down there for daniel [Applause] and daniel's last 45 seconds on the clock here three double tail up over the spine wow cork 720 tuck no hander landing very low and i think he's going to throw it from that one shaking his head he knows that he didn't have the speed to pull things together into a beautiful run he's missing a lot of tricks now that he wants to do but he's sitting in a whoa confident first position still wanting to get some points out so that he has wow he's still doing some incredible tricks ali al you flair right there 50 50 to 50 50 is a nice one there kind of throwing her away but not throwing it away completely he knows he knows that it wasn't the run that he was really going for you saw with those big tricks coming out daniel is maybe more comfortable in the contest with the longer transitions with the larger air times uh so doing a mini wrap contest kind of like this it makes it makes the the difficulty i think a bit higher because you have to do all your tricks so much faster these combinations all right well it's uh it's a bit of a strange situation if you think about it because there's only one point that's uh separating daniel and kieran and we know that kieran also does have that double flare in his bag of tricks so if he feels like in that section at the end of his run that he wants to try and pull that off that may be the difference maker here and this seems like daniel's having a bit of a discussion with our on deck referee okay and we've just been informed he's gonna do the three last tricks he just wanted to take a drink of water so there is no time limit on the three last tricks so you can just pull it out there so uh this is a chance for him to kind of pump up that score a little bit but the run in itself was not exactly daniel darris quality on that second run but talking about some of the best tricks i mean daniel has innovated so many uh creative things like let's say the first one of the first person basically do the casserole um he's been able to do such incredible like uh flare or or double tail with the with the no foot can variation uh he has such cool style that he's able to implement into a lot of tricks and it'd be really interesting to see if he pulls something new that he's been working on through wow flare downside whip big one that's a that's a hard one but right out of the bag he knows that he has that and i think that one's so locked in his bag of tricks and he just goes and pulls that because that could potentially still be the winner for that best trick and then he can he could get a he could get rewarded for that one right there there was that flat landing that kind of killed off all his momentum and speed that normally he would uh go right into another trick there oh now you could see him grimace a little bit as he landed on that seat hard so yeah like we said not gonna be enough to change that uh first run score 84 is gonna be the one that sticks for his two runs out here at the mass 20 22. all right [Music] dean florian up next dean florian going for his second run he has a lot that he can actually improve he has so much in his bag of tricks a very diverse rider has big combinations and just like we said has to clean up a tiny bit but wow big combinations like the three double tail up over the spine [Music] 360 tuck no hannah this is looking to be a great run for dean florian flair barspin holding it together on the high part of that foot jam going for a couple lip tricks i think that was double tail to foot jam 15 seconds left on the clock 5 40 foot jam well oh say that's a contest make he landed that one but it wouldn't be in a video part one [Laughter] [Music] over foot jam and that's gonna do it he didn't have as many big tricks in this one as i was expecting to see and pull for his uh second run but showcasing a lot of diversity with those lift tricks be really interesting to see if he gets a higher score and maybe if he's able to upset tom justice and get higher than that 80.66 at tom sitting and maybe putting himself into a podium position well i mean we know that dean can do it he had an 82.66 in the uh elimination first run uh don't know if he's gonna crack that here he had some nice amplitude it just seemed to peter off towards the end of his run okay let's give him benefit of the doubt it's hot these guys need to stay hydrated and they've been working hard all day long so taking a look back at some of the big stuff here 360 double tail whip into the flare he had some great smooth and flow going smooth flow going on in this run there's that flare bar spin he ends up landing a tiny bit low on this which throws a bit of momentum out and then he kind of moves into elliptrix side of things i don't know if that was intentional or that was just kind of rolling with the flow of that run but dean totally exhausted and could put after the end of that run [Music] all right so this is his opportunity to do his last trick last trick attempt oh ah looks like that one could have hurt actually twisted twisted his leg up possibly i mean he's got shin pads on but that uh that pedal whipped back or did he just twist no it looked like he looks like he could have really flexed his leg on the landing there hopefully he's okay [Applause] [Music] going for a 180 double whip to fakie but a little bit too corked on the landing it's very difficult to get your body positioning straight up imagine skydiving and kind of throwing your body within the axes not not quite the same quite the same analogy is it 73-6-6 score number two for dean as we now go to tom justice 80.66 currently ranked in third place justice big amplitude and flow he's been one of the most consistent riders out of the contest today super nice to watch him ride and he uses all of the ramp as well it's that 361 foot little downside throwing some style some dirt influence into the riding here a little knock knock over the quarter i love how he does the lip slides really confident just it's basically the lip side is basic oh going down a tiny bit that means that he's gonna have to hold on to his first run score as well everyone having difficulty here in the second round looking like they're just having to push it a tiny bit too hard and having a few baubles i mean it's hot it's end of day and these guys have been working hard it's hot it's sweaty and it's blistering i mean you're gonna get 30 degree burns out there in the sun if you don't apply sunscreen every half an hour because you're sweating so much so tom like i said has a lot of diversity in the way that he rides the bmx bike super fun to watch him out there on a course like this see a big smile on his face like just coming around having a great time these guys love what they're doing they love traveling around the world being able to ride their bikes for a living and let's see he was very live and active in the best trick contest yesterday so i'm very interested to see what he has for his bag of tricks on this final trick was that supposed to be a knack neck i didn't catch that three three knack over over the spine he has three attempts at it so he can uh he can still go for it two more times if uh if he doesn't feel like this one was the one that was happening for him let me see uh when he goes over this again if he tries the same thing [Music] iii so knack knack to can can 360 over the spine [Music] wow [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] 74 for second run so you're absolutely correct there ryan he's gonna have to keep that first run score that's been uh the scene for all of the guys here in the second run the only man that may be able to change that is kieran and he is up next and we've seen him being mechanical almost about his runs let's see if it's the same situation here in his second run as kieran reilly drops in well i had a feeling the judges were kind of looking at the way that this second run was going to pan out making sure that we had in fact the contest on our hands if they awarded kieran too high of a score he wouldn't have been able to come out here and say that he has to up himself to push out daniel dares now we have a beautiful contest on our hands and kieran is delivering wow not at all saying that that was a wrongful decision from the judges i definitely think that all the scoring is done very perfectly out here at this contest but it's very cool to see kieran having a fight now for this title spot we know that he's able to deliver tricks that can put himself yes doubletail of really stepping it up massive transfer on that as well so you can see he really has a pressure on his shoulders and he's taking it seriously he seems to be delivering yes and finishing it off right to the buzzer again with that double tail whip i don't even know if he hurt the buzzer go because he keeps on pushing he added a little bit more in that run and with an extra line through that uh spine quarter his fine half on the back side so that could be why he went over time and let's not forget he still has his three attempts at the last trick and i'm i'm guessing it's probably going to be up a double clear hey um yeah i mean with the with the last tricks i'm very curious to see how it's added up i'm not actually entirely sure i haven't had a meetings with the judges to express how they're totally adding these scores on to the end of the runs but if he is able to do a large trick like that i mean with this run alone i'm assuming that it's in the 87-88 category with the best trick something like that double flare or even what he did to win best trick that 360 double tail to double bar spin i don't know if he's gonna really risk it to pull out a trick like that but who knows kieran's really at it so hot out there the guys need to stay hydrated and make sure they have the energy to do this but [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] really getting the crowd to get on their feet this is gonna be the last rider of course the last time we get to see bmx uh for this year at the mash i think he's gonna go for it oh 360 triple tail first try you didn't even need to bother with a another attempt or anything it was bang on the money right away wow oh my god that's incredible karen riley really showing us that he was the best rider out there today in my opinion [Music] one two three tail whips in the 360 full body and bike rotation wow take another look front angle of kieran riley's beautiful last trick man out here at the finals for the bmx that was money that was money will he be in the money is the question he needs to beat an 84 absolutely in my opinion kieran is definitely going to get up past 87 with this score but i'm not a judge today so i'll hold my money in my pockets right now and see what everyone else says but yeah karen definitely in my opinion dominating uh just had so much confidence out there on the bike with those tricks able to stay high on the transitions i mean this is not the largest course that we're seeing in bmx park it's more of a mini ramp event which means that it's favoring a lot of the riders who are used to riding kind of those smaller transition ramps um here and really showing that he has diversity in his tricks and able to utilize all of the course to do stuff that the judges are really pushing but right now we do still have daniel in first place you see that venezuelan flag uh flaring up in the crowd support for daniel darris has a big audience out here coming to cheer him on that first position from daniel and again the judges are uh thinking it over deeply i make sure they get a fair score here now this is the point where i started questioning oh and a 90 run number two kieran riley topping the 90 the only ride and push out of the 80s here today and that's going to be your undisputed 2022 bmx park champion here at the munich mash kieran riley delivers under pressure and pushes out daniel dares into second position unbelievable what a fantastic job by kieran reilly at the end and that triple whip three over the spine what do you think i'm pretty much thinking that that's what put him over the top there yeah that that's i mean i was i was already thinking that before the best trick he was going to get around in 88 and 87 something like that but with with that additional trick added on that's where you see kieran really step up over six points ahead of daniel darris tom justice in third place there and death stopped by him as well dean florian or one german in the top four there uh all those four riders getting paid out here today 15 000 euros split between women and men evenly um a beautiful contest you guys weren't able to see the women as well go online you're able to watch a replay uh the women's uh pro park final as well we had such an amazing time hosting this out here with you troy like it was such a beautiful event perfect weather conditions perfect rider attitude the crowd is out here cheering uh couldn't have asked for anything more in munich most definitely not as we take a look at some of the highlights here before we drop our awards ceremony some quick thinking right there by kieran reilly is uh he just about put that front tire in the gap there and we head down to the stage for the awards ceremony where tom justice will receive the third place here today with a fantastic effort with a mix of old school and new school and good school and cool school and a fantastic run by him to really keep it creative on course [Music] there's a happy man right there receiving the third place in the bronze medal for the munich match 2022 in second place the spot that he has been in before but someplace that is unusual for the venezuelan an absolute legend and as you mentioned ryan he's had gold medals of all manner today though it's going to be the silver medal for daniel dares from venezuela [Applause] [Music] and you can hear his fan club in the audience there enjoying it and your champion for the munich mash 2022 men's bmx final it is none other than kieran riley [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] champagne shower time it looks like they prepared these bottles for the boys this time here we go let's see if they can manage to spray daniel there's he's an old hand at this no problem for him [Music] kieran needs a bit of practice yeah he'll get there maybe he's thinking about it differently i want to have a drink of this instead of uh just spreading the foam around great job by these three guys fantastic and what a winner that guy is right there kieran riley fantastic well what a beautiful event out here it's so nice to see all of our top seven riders come out here and basically throw their bodies on the line for our spectacle out at the munich match an incredible event we had kieran riley uh followed by daniel darris tom justice and dean florian but let's not forget sergio laos followed by shikharan superman and lennox zimmerman in seventh place there a huge contest coming out here and just such incredible tricks and camaraderie from all of them all right folks we hope you enjoyed the munich mash 2022 we are done for bmx that's all she wrote but we still do have one more event coming today and that's at four o'clock in half an hour's time it is the wake board finals so make sure you come back and join us for that on behalf of ryan meyer i'm troy mandering saying thanks for joining us we hope you guys enjoyed take care until next time and we are out [Applause] let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you
