today we're gonna test and review the AC 200 by Bluett II this is the first time in months that I'm actually excited to do a review because this is exactly what I told them to build about a year ago they asked me what specific features would I want in my own system and they actually built it and I think this will be perfect for van and RV dwellers like a midsize system I would not recommend this for like a cabin size system but for everything smaller than a cabin or a tiny home this is perfect and when I first was introduced to Blue Eddie I thought it would fail pretty badly but every single unit that I've gotten has had zero issues the only downside was that the inverter was too small on some of the last units and everyone that has a blue Eddie likes them a lot so I'm actually pretty excited about this so first let's talk about the basic features you have 1.7 kilowatt hours of capacity in a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter we also have a regulated DC 12 volt output that's capable of handling 25 amps so you can run like 2dc fridges off of this completely off of solar next we have a marine grade 12-volt cigarette lighter adapter that's capable of 10 amps and then 2 plugs for 3 amps and then we have USBs and then we have six outlets over here on the previous blue Eddie models it was limited to two when you press the power button this screen will turn on and this is a huge upgrade over the last blue Eddie's you actually have a touchscreen in an interface that tells you how much power is going in and out or to the DC loads and yeah look at this isn't this incredible and this is where you turn the inverter on so AC output on do you see output on and now we actually have power it even tells you how much power is coming from an AC outlet or from the photovoltaic or a car charger and you can even change the settings for the inverter or the DC input source and there's also an eco mode so if there are small loads attached to the inverter it will shut it down to save power and then you also have more settings language setting buzzers setting and that's pretty much it so most of these are pretty you and most people won't touch them but it's cool that they even have a setting menu in my favorite new section is the data logging so first we have product info and that's pretty boring but inverter and charger if you want to see how much power your solar array has produced through the blue Ettie it shows you how many kilowatt hours the carbon dioxide emission that you have offset the Watts amps and the volts and so much other cool information we also have the adapter charger to see how many watts is coming through that if you want to see how much power you have used through the DC output such as like a 12-volt fridge for off-grid use you can see it right here and even shows the current going through every single plug and look at that we have a spelling error they put added another P right there so they're gonna have to do a firmware update I wish these companies could actually check that as so silly it's so ubiquitous in our market anyways let's go back out AC output if you want to see the watts going through your inverter it will tell you all of this good stuff right here so you have more access to a lot more information compared to the last blue Ettie and then we have the BMS maintenance menu so it shows you the nominal battery voltage the battery current the state of charge and temperature and let's see what else oh look at this it shows you the individual cell voltages that is actually really impressive I've never seen a solar generator do that that's so cool there's also a fault menu so if any of these over or under voltage or short-circuit events were to occur it will tell you so yeah a lot easier than just hearing a inverter beep all day long this will actually tell you what's happening so these are the outputs on the left side we have the inputs down here and you have two inputs this is for car charging and photovoltaic or solar panel connection and this is the input for the AC adapter and this is the wall charger it looks massive so let's plug it in and see how fast it charges we're getting 370 watts so it would take four and a half hours to charge up this capacity of battery now let's test the DC voltage at the receptacle and we have thirteen point four volts so it is accurate with what it showed on the screen which is good and this model comes with the cables charge it and they are really nice these are some of the nicest cables I've seen from a solar generator you have multiple options for connecting solar panels or a car charging and for the output you even have an anderson power pole this connects to the DC output for 25 amps and I specifically stated that I wanted this and they actually made it now let's talk about in my opinion its best feature is the solar charging capability it is better than everything else on the market because it can handle 145 volts open circuit for the solar input that is a three or five fold difference compared to goal zero or even their past models so that is very impressive now you can have 700 watts of solar and you can put seven 100 watt panels in series so that means you just have two wires going in here from a single array and that's it I've heard of multiple companies talk about doing this but they never did it so blue Yeti is the first one to accomplish this which is very cool now that we know the basic features we're gonna throw it into the solar shed and do some real-world testing and check it out it's actually a lot smaller than the Titan it's pretty adorable this solar input plug is so cool I bet you anything that other companies are gonna copy and use this one so you line up the two red dots and you just push it in and then it clicks into place if you want to release it you pull back this collar and then it comes off and it's rated for high voltage and this looks like a common plug why would other electrical engineers not use this in their design this is way better than the other options we've had lately so I daisy chained for 24 volt 270 watt panels but before you plug this into the blue Eddy check the voltage just to ensure that it's under 145 volts some of the solar panels will be a higher voltage open circuit even if it's a 12 or 24 volt panel so you want to check it before you plug it in but keep in mind this is high voltage so you need to be very careful do not touch any of these conductors we have 98.6 volts you also want to check the polarity with your multimeter so make sure that the negative is negative and that the positive is positive and it is so I can plug it into the blue Eddy now and they're using Eckstein 90 plugs between the blue Eddie and the harness and look at that guys we have 370 watts it's early in the morning as always when I film these so yeah it's pretty low but around midday we should get around like 700 watts but how cool is that it's actually working so let's add an air conditioner we have the solar shut air conditioner and it pulls 430 watts so let's plug it in because it's getting pretty warm in here now we're running the air conditioner so let's see how many watts we're only at 50 watts so once the compressor kicks on we'll be able to test if you can run it now the air conditioner turned on and we're pulling 540 watts from the AC outputs so we're gonna let this run all day and charge up with solar and then we're gonna come back and do a capacity and load test now the battery is fully charged and we're gonna do a load test all right we have 1968 Watts over here 475 and 1500 so this meter is for the output which is awesome the Titan is at the battery shunt I prefer it at the AC output while it is still going I cannot believe this on the first try this is crazy so the battery is about to die so I put on kilowatt-hour counter instead so we got 1.37 kilowatt hours now we need to divide this by the inverter efficiency so out of 1.7 kilowatt hours we actually pulled one point five seven at that CE rate it's understandable with this chemistry if we did it at a point to see rate or twenty percent of this capacity in watts then we would actually probably pull a full capacity and what's interesting is even though the inverter cut off the screen is still on so they might be cycling it like twenty or ten percent of the total capacity so yeah let's turn it back on and add some solar power and we are now charging with solar power it takes about 30 seconds for it to start charging now we're gonna see how fast the blue Eddie can charge from a car cigarette lighter 12 volt adapter source or a 12 volt battery that's either LED acid or lithium iron phosphate so you can charge up this system with external batteries or an alternator and what's interesting about the DC converter system on this unit is that it's a buck and a boost so that means whether you have a 12-volt power supply or a 145 volt power supply such as a string array of solar panels it will change the voltage to what it needs to charge it's 50 volt battery so right now it's actually charging from the Eco flow Delta through the cigarette lighter adapter it 100 watts but the first time I tried it it tripped the OCPD in the Eco flow Delta so you need to change the settings on the blue Eddy to make sure that it's in car mode and not solar panel mode and so all you have to do is go to settings and then DC input source if you're using solar panels use PV if you're connected to a car use the car setting and that's all you need to do but as some of you guys know I'm not a big fan of alternator charging because 100 watts it would take like 17 hours of driving to charge this thing up I'd much rather charge it in a couple hours with solar panels instead and you get to save money on fuel costs because if your alternator is putting resistance on your engine you have to pay for that with more gas so I personally prefer using solar power instead but now that we know that it works we can connect our solar panels uh-oh I forgot to change the settings back to solar so we probably have an over-voltage and under the data logging you can look at fault history and this is the code that we just created because I was an idiot and I didn't change the settings so yeah make sure that you do that every single time you switch from solar to car charging so over here settings and right now it's at PV so now I can connect some solar panels yeah guys this actually works these videos are pretty boring when these products actually work as advertised but it's hard for me to give a recommendation on any product when it's new I do like Blue Eddie because they use automotive grade and MC cells and they have a long cycle life but the true test is how well this unit will work over the next six months to a year I think people can actually buy this one because I've never been able to kill my previous blue Eddy's and so I think this will be a great unit for most people but we're gonna see in the next couple months I'm gonna run my air conditioner off of it for a few weeks or a couple of days at least just to make sure that everything works perfectly and I'm actually very happy that this company actually listens to me I told them that the inverter on the last model was way too small for people in vans and RVs I said that they need a larger DC output with powerful connections and they did everything and I also complained about the display and how it didn't show much information and they fixed that as well so I'm actually pretty impressed so far it passed my inverter test which there's only one other generator on the market that has done that which is the goal zero which is horrible in all other ways but yeah it actually passed my test which is so cool so anyways I hope you guys liked this video there's gonna be a link below I'm not sure what they're selling it for and I'm not sure if there's a pre-sale because I don't think this is release yet but overall I think this is way better than their previous generators and all of the generators are coming out this year this blows them away the energy flex can only handle a 90 Volt this can hell one hundred and forty five volt that one can only charge at 400 watts this can charge at 700 watts and it's practically the same price considering the size of battery so yeah this is gonna blow away the competition and I like blue Eddie's more than the Eco flow Delta we do run into some problems with those so I think that this is going to be very competitive this year but yeah the only thing that I care about is if this will actually last a very long time so I'm gonna put it through the paces and I'll give you guys an update video anyways thank you so much for watching and I will talk to you guys soon bye
