Blueprism - What is Active Queues with Live example.

hello everyone welcome to blue prism world my name is naveen in this video i am going to talk about active queues with real time example okay uh obstacle what is active queues active queues introduce an alternative mechanism for managing the sessions which work the queues made possible by creating a closer association between work use and sessions that means instead of creating sessions separately in control room and then moving to the queue management page to see the results active queues allow you to set a target number of resources which should be working the queue blueprism uses the active queue configuration to determine how to achieve that target this is about active queues now when active queues are useful and to whom this is useful i'll now i'll tell you uh let's say for example we have one process that will run on 20 bots that are only in business days and in business hours only uh according after that we can create schedules accordingly uh in that scenario sometimes business may ask for adopt process that means any non-business data in non with business dis like saturday sunday saturday sunday that time a business may ask for run the process uh that time a controller what they will do simply they will go to session management and select resources and drag into the process after the sessions will be created then they will right click and start the process on all the sessions whenever any ad run or run process manually in control room every time we need to drag and run the process in this case why don't we use active key feature to get rid of drag and drop every time in session management whatever resource we want to run this process simply we we need to put the resources into into a group after that enable active queue in the work in the work you and select which process to run in which group that's it it is one time process only whenever business is asked for any ad hoc run simply go to the active queue tab in control room and select the select the queue just enter the number of resources you want to run the process then automatically active queue will create the session and the run and run the process accordingly no need to switch the tabs for creating session and to see the work you items that's why active queue feature comes into the picture okay now i will show in practically okay yeah this is simple process i have created for active queues uh okay now okay first we need to go to system tab before going to system tab let's see actually i'm having three resources which is connected to this machine these are the virtual machines and this is domain this is my actual mission i have three resources under system tab first we need to go to workflow not workflow sorry first we need to go to resources under resources we need to go to management under management by default default folder is there if you want your own folder then simply you can create a group like i'm creating my name only with the group name after that we need to drag which this group we need to select in active case uh simply i'm just dragged dragging the resources into navin folder okay yeah once it is done then we need to go to work use under work use i'm already having the active queue demo queue in this uh here active queue option is there here we need to activate this check box once once you click the check box these fields are enabled uh here we need to select the process where this work you uh where this cue is used in uh in the process actually i'm having only one process that is used uh this this cube is used in this process only that i'm selecting this process after that we need to uh select the group actually uh we created an open group now it is not showing let me go to again management okay previously we didn't we didn't save the changes that's why it's not showing now i'm simply clicking this it will use it's run you must select the resource screen that an active queue will run okay here we need to select yeah yeah again we need to refresh the page yeah once in what once it is done here now you can see uh navin folder is now is visible simply select that folder and after that click apply okay once it is done uh next we need to navigate to control tab here uh active queues you can see now active queue demo uh it is under active queues uh we need to select this one active queues demo here you can see name uh status target resources active sessions available resources time elapsed remaining and these are the as usual in work you also these fields are same only here you can see target accusations available resource these are the important available resource means uh whatever we created previously new group now in folder right in that folder three ah these three uh let me yeah here you can see these three roses are three resources are available that's why here it is showing us three available resources is three uh currently there is no activations right that's why it's not showing any activations here we need to provide in how many resources you want to run that particular process here we need to provide now i want to run this process in all three resources that's why i'm giving three after that we need to click enter once you click that enter you can see activation is changed change it to three now available resources is 0 because all resources are working for checking purpose i am going to session management here you can see by active queues only created the session and automatically it is running in three missions and also we can check that items also here only you can see yeah we got yeah added the items okay now if you want to uh as of now three three in three resources it is running right if you want to stop in one resource that means you want to run into resources means again you can go to target resources you can see you can decrease here if i decrease and it will it is too old now if you click enter and you can go to session management now it is you can see it is stopping state yeah now it is completed that means uh now only two resources are running and also make sure in process you need to call the e-stop requested then only the process will stop yeah here only you can control the sessions if you want to uh stop stop the process in any one one of the resources means simply you can here only you can stop again if you want to run that again if you want to in that previously we stopped right if you want to run the process in that same mission only again we need to provide the three target resources three and click enter now you can go to this uh session management tab you can see now it is uh running yeah okay now a activation is also three uh here uh two main uh disadvantage is there actually uh let's say for example here now it is uh three only resources are available uh in three resources uh you want to uh start only like win seven prod one win seven prod two these are not in pc3 these three resources are available right if you want to run only in win seven product one or win seven prod two that time inactive queues will not work whenever we provide the number two means active queues will randomly will pick the resources that means uh sometimes it it will select win seven prod two or win seven prod one or no npc randomly it will select while stopping also by randomly it will stop the resource these are the disadvantages okay uh
