Blind Reaction: Invincible Season 1 Episode 1 "It's About Time"

hello everybody flaming shark back another video and today we're jumping in to a series that um i don't honestly know the last time i think uh it's been a while since a western animated series from the get-go especially has gotten the kind of uh recognition that this series got now invincible this is exciting so i know a tiny bit about this show and i mean a tiny bit but it's more than nothing i know that in some way shape or form this story is like superhero themed which is ironic because i'm recording this and i'm recording this a bit in advance and i don't know if i'll do it for the whole series but at least for episode one i'm recording it i'm recording it right at uh like shortly after recording episodes one and two of teen titans season five ironically enough something else superhero themed i know this is to some degree superhero themed which is cool um and i know this show has been memed to all hell i don't know the context i i haven't looked at memes uh of course but i know that this show has become a huge meme in certain ways uh and just generally that a lot of people really love it but i feel like this show's gotten popular more for being in many people's eyes a really good show as opposed to being a really good animated show and that's great to see um i'm i'm not positive but i'm pretty sure this show is like pretty adult i don't know if it's rated r necessarily or i guess it would be ma because it's not a it's not a movie but um i don't know what it's rated but i'm pretty sure it's like pretty adult themed and it's based on a comic series not a not like a marvel dc but sometimes some comic series so like super vague knowledge but i don't know any of the characters i don't know anything about the show so i'm pretty excited as someone who does enjoy superhero stuff especially when it tends to lean a little dark whether it's something you know like i mean i can think of a lot of examples but you know probably the bar is probably like worm or something but not that i think a ton of you know what that is but i guarantee a few of you know what that is uh but there's definitely some really good um there's definitely some really good superhero stuff out there in all genres in all kind of walks of life and in so many different ways i mean i'm a huge fan of the um obviously the mcu stuff is great for the most part a huge fan of that i don't really read comics but i've always found the little bits and pieces that i've looked at incredibly interesting over the years especially dc stuff but so many great stuff so i have and obviously i've been reacting to the teen titans series at the time you guys see this i'll probably be right around the end um but i'm actually recording this right after starting the final season of teen titans um so yeah i have plenty of experience with superhero stuff but i have no experience with this i have no idea what this is i have no idea really what to expect other than apparently it's really good i'm really curious about the animation because i know this is an amazon original series i'm really curious like who did the animation and i'll be very curious to kind of research that uh down a lot later down the line or you know even potentially you know after this but whatever but i'm really excited for this don't have much to say if you're new to the channel of course subscribe all that all that nonsense but i'm really excited for this and we're getting to record this a little in advance which means i might not do my reaction to the next episode in a long time and the other thing is these episodes are really long so this first episode is 47 and a half minutes my camera can go about 55 minutes or so before it does a little weird glitch thing and i have to cut so there will probably be one cut each episode where i just take a moment and i'm like okay i'm gonna pause the episode i'll be back in a flash and then we just continue the episode but i do i do i do also pause sometimes in episodes if you are new to the channel anyways so that's really nothing new i sometimes just pause to discuss so really if we get to a point where i want to pause to discuss i'll also make my cut there so that should be really easy but uh yeah i just want to warn you guys that because these episodes are really long i do have to make cuts i do them in my movie reactions but i usually don't have to in my normal episode reactions because i'm usually reacting to stuff that's like 22 ish minutes episodes sometimes even shorter uh i've never done a series that had episodes as long as this on the channel um just in my personal life so this will be really interesting to say the least um even the fact that an animated series is getting episodes like this and invincible is confirmed for season two and season three and of course you know unless i think the show is completely god-awful which i highly doubt i will of course be reacting to the future seasons of the show and i'm really excited to get into this because i know the series has been really popular it's good a lot of people have praised it a lot so i'm like really excited to check it out so without any further ado let us jump in to episode one of invincible and i should look at what it's called because i do have the titles it's about time could be a little meta to the fact that that this series is finally getting an adaptation because i'm sure in some circles the series is really popular and legendary and it's about time it's getting adaptation and those same people might not like it but we'll see regardless let's check it out invincible episode one will commence in three two one and le play amazon original and there's the a to z uh smile this program okay seizure warning sure so if you have um epilepsy not it's not like low to where i can't hear it but i get the feeling i'll have to crank it up for the video for you guys i just wanted to check sorry about that let's just run it back a few seconds turret guns on the top of that building what the hell was that i guess superhuman society right uh yeah that's exactly what they are this animation is pretty nice so far big robot or big villain looks like big villain blue boy oh two of them brothers you were supposed to be inside i should have never trusted the flood calculations of a clone clown that really is the white house truly the okay wow refreshing kind of tickles you might prefer a higher caliber of course you do okay so that's the white out i looked kind of like the white house but i figured it you actually shot him in the eye [Music] jesus oh it's okay okay hello justice league hello avengers i'm gonna go justice league today they focus on evac that almost feels clear nice yeah we got flash we can take it from here wonder woman evacuate civilians damn it although the look gives me more of thor slash please you couldn't just sit this one out let us kill the president wow and a day off not our style sorry nice this is bro literally looks like a silly batman nice female hard to tell i'm really liking the animation you're safe now very it looks like the series does not look like it came out recently but the actual animation is like is really solid so fast but there were so many of you that oh no it starts with one of you then oh wow sorry i can't wow contagious vomiting that's uh a big meme jokingly enough we got aquaman too that was hot though distracted this floor is clear i'll go up you go down [Music] okay so they're trying to make a spectacle of attack on the white house to chill out the uh president yeah gonna save her ass [Music] nice that's clean it's pretty clean looking cg too there's some cg mixed in here but it's not very uh pervasive to the story or anything nice nice it looks like they're like they have that vibe to me that's it this is pretty cool so far i'm enjoying it kaboom and you get bopped first and you're both going kaboom yeah hey reading about it seance dog excuse me what level 43 chest armor that's great don't bring up that stupid job man don't be that person when's the last time you bought a car so i'm actually thinking about turning this up just because like the audio is fine but the the actual voice acting is really low so i always kind of run on the same volume but i'm going to try turning it up a fair bit actually comic book those things are expensive and they're doing seance dog twice a month all summer you're into the stupidest stuff knock it off todd come on quit playing games i know you're crazy about me marcy told me well you are big and strong your voice will start to crack as it begins to change but you'll also get superpowers in strange places yeah and you're going to start to develop superpowers of your own just like me super strength and speed flight the whole bit do you understand he's like yeah i'm gonna be able to fly oh my god that voice you're gonna be able to fly i'm gonna be able to fly yeah you're back to that oh god damn it hard to tell how old he is 16 maybe down 17. looking down i'm not going down they said they all get it by 18 so i can fly so i'm gonna assume he was 16. follow me all right no no voice acting has been really good in this show so far um i'm already really liking the cast jk simmons that sounds like tensing a muscle you're much better off if you relax that muscle from time to time use the momentum you're building to carry you forward okay you don't want to fall so you're gonna have trouble relaxing it's kind of like peeing your pants on purpose what peeing your pants on purpose you know you spend your whole life trying not to pee your pants sure letting go peeing your pants on purpose to impossible how do you know this who would try that you are far better at flying than you should be late night practice is that why you're so tired don't try to change the subject slow down land i said land why aren't you slowing down i can't stop just your whole body you can punch with your arm but if you punch with your shoulder your hips and your legs as well it'll be much more powerful it'll take a while to get the hang of it okay now with us we can freely move ourselves through physical space that's how we fly so we don't have to pivot on our feet and push off the ground we can literally push off anything we can create our own leverage although i actually could probably finish the episode and just and then make my cut and just talk about in the outro be my cup but i'm just gonna i'm just gonna run with this but we're a little over halfway through the episode it's weird watching an episode this long but i am getting through it it is enjoyable honestly i might keep going because i i thought i'd be like more hungry because i had an apple in the middle of my teen titan reactions in between episodes one and two for again season five because you're gonna see this video for a little while but uh i uh yeah i don't know it's really late and i thought i might get really tired or i might you know get hungry or whatever but i think i might actually keep going and just record more invincible and be really because it would be cool to have this like ready in advance or whatever but anyways i'm going to uh cut here and then we'll jump into the rest of the episodes so uh yeah this has been really interesting so far it's really captivating um and it is a long season um because even though it's only eight episodes with the episodes being like over 40 minutes each you're really looking closer at like 20 episodes so it really is like a pretty long season so they're gonna have a lot of time to kind of build stuff and you know get to where they want to go which is really cool i don't even know if i'm gonna do single episode reactions or maybe i'll do some two episode reactions i don't really know but i'm probably gonna do single episode reactions so the other actions ironically enough will be kind of short for me normally but i think i'm just gonna do single episode reactions but we'll see regardless this has been fun let's jump into the second half or a little bit less than that of invincible episode one and willing to put a lot of elbow grease into this one but i need a little help from you have you decided on the name yet i haven't really thought about it no having a name helps dark wing has dark wings greatest omni man ever you just have to be what if the greatest me isn't enough really curious whether hero names can wait how could the greatest you not be enough thank you i like how there's swearing powers but it's not like overkill either if they're willing to [ __ ] but they use it in just the right moments oh my god that timing was glorious oh i'm really digging this so far this has this vibe is amazing you seem tired i'm fine just got a lot of my mind i guess yo how far are they throwing that what is it you're just gonna keep crying if i'm invasive at all so um i'm scared dad what if i can't do this you hear it i do get ready nice a little but you caught it i did being a superhero is no different this is the beginning of a long journey for you and me sure along the way you're going to need to do things you don't want to do or might not think you can do sure it's okay to be scared yeah it's natural to doubt yourself but if you can push through that and do what needs to be done you'll do just fine hell yeah you think you can do that mark i think you can oh jesus that was terrifying jesus kids your age think they're invincible and it holds them back makes them careless the thing is you're different you actually are invincible oh my god his name his name yep got it okay kid let's get to work it's gonna be his name isn't you are actually invincible so your name is invincible so it's literally like a superman oh i like the blue black the yellow yellow is not really my thing but that's not a bad costume hey doing the classic superhero thing just standing on the edge of a tall thing hey he did the fall too that reminded me of into the spider verse a little bit all it's missing was him saying brooklyn it was ironic because that looks like new york wow [Music] [Music] the show is looking really nice [Music] tell me this is so weird because you know what it is about this show and i'm sure a lot of people jesus crap yeah i guess it's time to be a hero that is some big lasers are they coming out of eyes or guns closer yeah the cops yeah damn yeah [ __ ] indeed jesus i know you're doing your job but he's really right on the money there like why are you even trying nice jesus that's a lot of damage all clear yeah that good thing you definitely need to work on trying not to do that much damage but i guess some of it's unavoidable but this is more monsterstorm 4.0 we have a spectacular year ahead of us the new rollout of haven storm was supposed to be free i'm not worried about the shareholders here i want a spectacular year for the world don't other superhero characters like this one feels obvious nice [Applause] and i haven't seen i don't think i've actually seen any powers either i know what's in this building and i know who wants it tell happening is he all right i live it's something that must be controlling him he would never do this regardless it's him or us i choose us holy jesus yeah he hasn't said a word jesus okay that hurt him oh god oh god jesus that's another one this is so brutal yeah how do you react to this holy crap i'm at a loss for words because if yeah i tried to try to like rip out as hard or whatever oh my god jesus he's really about to kill all of them oh my god why why [Music] jesus i would love to know why too what the ever living [ __ ] just happened that's the end of the episode isn't it are you [ __ ] me oh shout out to seth rogen that that's not a name i was expecting um i recognize a lot of names oh my god there there's some big big big actors and actresses on this i shouldn't be surprised well i'm uh uh huh ah i'm just gonna let the credits roll um i don't think there's gonna be anything here uh there's literally no point in having an end credit scene when you end the episode on that um but i just want to see like how the credits roll is it just like credits is there a graphic at the end um skybound amazon studios i'm gonna assume skybound is the animation studio never heard of it in my life if they are um um what the [ __ ] was that um so i was debating maybe watching more not after that ending no no we we're not watching more that that that was the most insane what the that was one of the best first episodes i think i've ever seen just because like as far as a tone setting first episode how many episodes have i i'm trying to think of how many episodes i've ever watched in my life that set a tone as well as that literally again again the comps are not there but we just watched superman kill the justice league in the first episode of a series basically is what just happened um i don't even know what to say ah i'm hooked i'm hugged i think that goes without saying but like it's this weird thing where it's like i want to watch the rest of the episodes as fast as possible but i also can't watch anymore right now because that ending was so intense so insane that oh it's gonna be one of these shows this is going to be like plot twist the show i can already tell i mean they already hit us with a plot twist like what so my only guess and i don't know if this is a stretch i don't know if he if this guy is just if uh omni man is just [ __ ] evil but my only my only like theory here is that the uh i forget the name of the species but the people from his planet this is part of their mission that eventually they're supposed to like take over the planet or whatever and because of the supers on in this world because he he felt that step one to achieving that goal was to eliminate the what he saw as the biggest threats uh to his takeover which was the guardians of the globe um but at the same time if he felt that way would he really have taken them all on at once uh i don't think so i get that weird feeling that he didn't actually see them as a threat because if he did i don't think he would have just said hey let's let's um let's not actually do that you know it's all good um that was insane i am i'm stuck i i don't know what to say i i'm at a loss for words i am honestly kind of shook i i that was insane i i yeah that was crazy like like the first episode of attack on titan's pretty insane i don't know if i've watched an animated series where the first episode was like left me this like what like i'm just thinking my head what the [ __ ] did i get myself into so there's a part of me that's thinking i don't know if the show can live up to that like just that moment in the end of the first episode but i also know that this show is incredibly popular and it's just been super critically acclaimed so maybe it can jesus that was dark jesus christ that was dark that was i'm i'm just what the [ __ ] just happened i love this show already we're one episode in and this show is just does not give a [ __ ] oh my god so the hero of the story is invincible mark and the villain of the story i think i would i would sincerely hope so the villain is his father it's omni man and the two of them and and and this even further explains the whole how it's complicated you know this complicates things because his son has the powers and now that his son has the powers it complicates things because his son potentially is now a threat to him and that might be why he's decided to do this now because now that his son has powers he realizes i should accelerate my plans so it doesn't get to the point where my son is actually powerful enough to stop me so that makes sense but oh man i feel like all of that makes sense i don't know if i'm being crazy here i assume what the [ __ ] that was so wild i wanna i wanna see what the next episode is called here goes nothing uh okay that doesn't say anything but uh i'm i'm i am kind of glad that it doesn't say anything but uh next episode's called here goes nothing i don't know if i'm gonna be doing single episode reactions or if there will be sets if there are sets i can't imagine they're gonna be more than two episodes but um that was phenomenal um it was really interesting it had a fun tone it gave me some like spider-man vibes the bunch of the like the hero stuff i i felt like pretty obvious references to a bunch of characters that actually makes even more sense that a bunch of those characters felt like obvious references to the justice league because they all [ __ ] die in the first episode or so it kind of makes sense now because it was like they didn't matter so it was like okay that that makes sense now holy [ __ ] those deaths were so brutal too oh my god see i was pretty sure this show was like mature can't say i was expecting that though oh yeah this show's pretty mature yeah kitchen you watching this oh my gosh i mean i love it i love it i love art not having limitations and that's kind of one of the things that has really sucked for a long time about western animation is it's pretty much boxed into two boxes which is it's for a younger audience or an all ages audience or it has to be like a stupid comedy type of adult animated series but what i love about this is this is not in either box and this is where it feels like western animation can actually kind of slowly kind of evolve into something similar to anime where they have all genres and all types of anime for every audience in every genre and everything and every and this feels like something unique because it's a western animated series that's really dark and really mature but isn't just like your typical like you know you know rick and morty simpsons kind of family guy you know they they all fill into kind of one specific niche and this is a different niche altogether of the like adult-oriented animated series so that's fantastic i loved the first episode i'm blown away by just how insane it was i can't say i was expecting to see like freaking all the main heroes just get murdered in the first episode jesus um but you want to talk about and i have to i have to give the show a lot of credit you want to talk about in one episode establishing probably and i guess there is there could be an explanation but what is in like 99 sure the villain of the series this episode did a phenomenal job of establishing the villain of the series i mean absolutely incredible stuff i am blown away this episode was amazing i get the feeling this show is just going to be pure brilliance um this was just incredible so yeah i i love invincible already totally it didn't it just took one episode and i get the feeling the show is gonna get even better that was just wild um [Music] there's definitely a lot of things that i'm curious to see how they turn out because like as far as characters go uh mark seems cool um i don't know if amber's gonna be a big deal or not i don't know if she's gonna be like just a best friend a love interest whatever because he has that other friend too he seems to have who appears to be the gay friend uh so there's a couple of things going on there don't know how big they're gonna be but there's there's a lot there's a lot that's coming and that was just insane so what an episode um what a way to start a series that was one of the strongest you know i've done you know this is the um this will be series i believe 51 on the channel and this is one of the strongest first impressions any series this might even be the strongest first impression that any series has ever given me and there's been other series where i just immediately fell in love and like you know and was probably even higher on in a different sense like steins gate i immediately fell in love with um that's one that jumps to my mind and there's been other ones where you know first episode it immediately just clicked with me but i don't think anything even attack on titan's first episode i don't think left the type of impression that this left on me this was insane um this was season one episode one of invincible it's about time and uh it's about time we started reacting to invincible holy [ __ ] yeah i'm already hyped for season two and season three and i still got seven episodes to watch and it's invincible so seven episodes is actually a lot of content oh my god i'm just i'm at a loss anyways that was incredible i don't think i'm going to have that much more kind of unique commentary i'm still just i think at a total loss for just how insane just how amazing that episode was so i think i'm going to cut it off here so without any further ado it's time they're gonna be eight episode seasons which would be the next seven that are already out plus the next two seasons this was phenomenal i'm super stoked i'm excited for some more invincible hope you
