[Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] don't bother come [Music] [Applause] [Music] ready my attention [Music] it's all about [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's all about tonight [Music] Hey [Music] [Applause] [Music] just [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] tonight me [Applause] right [Music] bouton [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] tomorrow [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] when I was a teenager in Oklahoma I'll never forget this when Garth Brooks had his first television special everybody everybody I knew taped it it was the it was the biggest thing ever and I probably watched it a hundred times and I remember watching him over and over again he would run from one end to the other and it was this huge stage and I remember thinking that's I mean that's just what you do that's what I'm going to do one day too I'm gonna run all around ladders and ropes and bust guitars and stuff this is the biggest stage that I've ever been on and so when I got out here and started walking around yes you didn't realize that from the time I start here and get to the middle I needed to stop and eat lunch and get a drink and then by the time I made it around there it was almost bedtime for me though as slow as I am so it's going to take some getting used to for me and I'm definitely not one of those guys that's you know runs around and swings on mostly because there's a weight limit on those ladders and ropes and I don't want to hurt anybody in the audience from the time I was probably seven years old I'd already you know decided that I I wanted to sing and I wanted to learn how to sing you know and I even thought I did know how to sing you know I would spend a lot of time in my bedroom just you know playing whatever albums we could find around the around the house that we had normally like Hank jr. you know Waylon Jennings there was a lot of those back then cassettes are eight tracks laying around the house and I would just listen to him over and over and over again and I don't know if I could relate to the music that Waylon Jennings was singing when I was a kid or Hank jr. is you know how how can a kid relate to those things to me they were just almost like action heroes you know it was just they were just cool because they were singing and they sounded cool and they had a guitar in their hands I didn't know what they were singing about I mean you know half the time they were singing about being drunk and stuff you know I mean I I had no idea I just thought they looked you know and sounded cool [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] this is my very standard television special [Music] [Applause] drink juice Rihanna [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] see what y'all do to me [Music] and drinking [Music] [Applause] [Music] No [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] just [Music] this car [Music] some more to drive [Applause] [Music] she [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] yes [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] of the karaoke machine [Music] [Applause] the Mara [Applause] you can't take the country out of the boy you know and so when I talk and when I sing it just comes out of them guy from southern Oklahoma and there's really nothing I can do about that it took me a long time to figure out that just because I'm an artist doesn't mean I have to be a politician and make everybody happy just being myself is the best way for me to connect with with my fans you know that's when you gain the true respect and and you gain that true fan base that will stick with you until the end because they do know who you are and they really can relate to you and here's how they know they can because he said this this and this and he did this this and this that's the same stuff I do [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] and I want to say a few words before we go any further first of all thank y'all so much would be [Music] second of all on tech just one second here to explain myself because I think mr. country [Applause] I just want to come right up right now and tell y'all that [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I love fishing [Applause] dear [Applause] you know come to think of it paint [Applause] that's what guys [Applause] that's probably why I shouldn't talk on stage man you know what if what I just had to say there was offensive to anybody in this room from the bottom of my heart from the merit bar [Applause] this next song to use [Applause] the flag fly to know [Music] [Applause] truck battle on it down with beer [Music] our sticker [Music] [Applause] [Music] you can't cash [Applause] trying to gene smoke nothing to marvel tattoos on men dear head [Music] to be [Applause] I scared to grab my gun [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] please you can kiss [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] down cause a country club is a honky-tonk till 3:00 in the morning [Applause] [Music] [Applause] can a teacher you can [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] would sit guitar picking moonshine sippin backer - spitting console [Applause] fishing it out [Music] so you just now yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] you can't to country [Applause] [Applause] back in the day if we would have had a stage like this I could have saved myself a lot of grief because you know the reason I got into this business you know originally was to pick up girls and I can't tell many times played the bars over the years and and you'd see a girl that's kind of way back there and she looks pretty cute and you're thinking oh that's the one I'm gonna go meet after the show and hang out with and it turns out when you get out there she's really ugly if I would have had a stage like this back then I could have walked around and got a close look and realized that girls ugly and then going you know went back around and find you know a cute one for the night I was young if I play you something brand-new I don't do a lot of love songs as y'all may know but this right here is one of my all-time favorite songs I've ever had a chance to record [Applause] [Music] [Music] my own my soul hold yourself together like a pear book in I'm not tasted all your cooking [Music] the important something arouse slide down the hallway in your son's but you undress still even [Music] if it's same to your nose in a bubble bath my soul [Music] yourself together [Music] taste it all [Music] ah [Music] you break things and you get [Music] read a box of chocolates culture feeling and back [Music] do you paint your toes nose you bite your name come on almost a [Music] with the doors lock shades are down [Music] - quietly [Music] and it feels just right are you thinking [Music] by all my soul [Music] [Music] it's hard to believe that I get paid to step out on stage and sing because I would have been doing that anyway there's no there's no way that stepping on stage in front of I don't care if it's ten people or 20,000 people there's there's no way that could ever get old to me especially when they're into it I mean when you look out there and you see somebody's singing along with one of your songs it that's it I mean that that five seconds makes it all worth it you know because that's the simple thing that a dream started with was man I want to be the guy that is my hero you know and that's what because that's what I did was I sit in my bedroom and I sing songs by my heroes and I knew every word of every song and then I step out on stage these days and I see a handful of those people and that's that's the moment when I can say to myself I did it I did it [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Wow [Applause] kion maybe she defied we did but now shiatsu for the dumb man my man been so stubborn so selfish [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] shoot for didn't change I just she would ever really want cow [Music] like a baby to restrain to see the legs [Music] now [Music] but I'm too [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] screaming out her name it tears so he does my face about a burger this much [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I finally picked you took you home said she owned the town maybe she'd adult these days when I hear a song on the radio of mine it's hard to it's harder to listen to it because I listen to it with the ear of handed on what I have sing that a little bit differently if I could get back in there and that a studio part of what I do starts creeping in a little bit you know and mostly when you listen to yourself on the radio as an artist and just being around my friends and myself now that the most exciting part about it is hearing whatever the DJ has to say about you either before or afterwards or if they don't say anything it's very disappointing [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] stay slang [Music] Arrancar driving rage attitude beside me talking on a cellphone he started did something wrong he flipped me the bird and then he was gone [Music] son there's a big umbrella caste she teaching music probing warm breezes blood a picture self-repair Sunday word [Music] I circle the park and I'm trying to find a spot just me my guitar and with a big cigar to his car I stopped in our way for him Versailles been ain't reason we tried [Music] son [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] scenery's smiling [Music] [Applause] see Spanish said box you're not give you some novocaine that to throw me fine and he stuck that me and he started read before hours now [Music] sundae's son [Applause] [Music] sunset they [Applause] [Music] the salty now [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you know I watched a television special years ago by a hero of mine Garth Brooks and I saw some his special her he took the one of his songs and rewrote the last verse to make it more help I thought that was so freaking cool and so man I got to thinking this is my television special I should do something like [Music] and I'm really nervous about this and it's probably a good thing that I wasn't a rider on this song because I thought about it the more I thought that this right here should be the last verse y'all listen why said that waiting the same like all afternoon the nurse - said ready you're not gonna feel a thing give you some novocaine that tooth will be fine in me to do stuff that needle down they said do you feel that that's not my thumb [Music] [Applause] solji's [Music] there's a beautiful sunset [Music] [Applause] seven lovers from man sorry [Music] sanika son [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] men [Music] Georgia goes to the floor the line I've been here for too long [Music] so he sentenced me to have a visa take care of all [Applause] down to star [Music] they were saying [Music] got a nose ii smell the two-day trail he's a boring a tracking machine [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] don't you [Music] my god [Music] our Danis fit down see [Applause] [Music] I will take house she was pretty as she could be [Music] [Applause] sound of the game [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] lady saw him til away for three or four days waited till the time where it's unknown to Tennessee [Music] don't you [Music] the tree takes all in the south here [Music] [Applause] I've had a lot of awesome moments doing what I do I mean it's it's hard to to count them all but looking back at everything I think probably the coolest thing that that has happened was my very first album when it was certified gold I mean because you know that to me said this is real you know it's one thing to come out and have a song on the radio and it's another thing to come out and have a song you know go to number one on the radio but it's a completely different level to me when when I when I knew that five hundred thousand people who worked for a living walked into a store somewhere and laid you know fifteen dollars down on the desk and said you know I'm gonna spend the money that I worked for this week on this on this new kid that just came out of five hundred thousand people did that I I remember just sitting in at the time my apartment in Nashville and I had that plaque leaned up against the wall and I was just said and drink a beer and stare at it every time I got home and just go I can't believe that I cannot believe that happened you know it was just it was really an eye-opener for me as far as bringing you know a reality and a sense of accomplishment to - you know what I'm what I moved to Nashville to do back in 2001 the only thing in life that I desperately desperately wanted was to be a country music singer and I was also scared to death of people hearing my music for the first time because I wanted people to love me and my musics so bad that I didn't want anybody here it was in then it wouldn't be a reality if they didn't so you can imagine the fear that I had the very first time that I ever heard my first song on the radio I was scared to death man but you can also imagine the excitement I felt when I found out a few months later that that same song had gone to number one and I want to thank y'all from the bottom of my heart for that I want to play on my very first single right here she said she needed [Music] he figured she'd gone back to us as she talked about it on it was almost a year [Music] three rings and an answering machine is what she got this is Tuesday [Music] you got something to say you're wasting your time [Music] it's sad wait you know what to do [Music] this is a stir I still [Applause] to the camp she heard what she believed [Music] she went in three days she tried [Music] she didn't know what she say [Music] it's Oh slang Saturday and now begone [Music] on Sunday yes [Music] laughter no or something [Music] [Applause] nip your comment about my heart is still yours I shouldn't send too [Music] taking me to know where I belong [Music] can't you tell this is Austin still [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] music to me it means everything to me it says it's as vital to me as water and air and food is and even beyond that country music is that important to me I mean I love all kinds of music but and I'm always listening and exploring and finding out new things that I like but I never find anything that I love as much as I do country music I do want to say something you know we were talking about doing my very first television special law this is a true story the very first place I said that we should go do this is Indiana I haven't said Evansville Indiana I gotta say something though I'm a little bit surprised that I really feel like I have misread this crowd here tonight I do because I really expected to come out here and see an audience full of freaking rednecks man and I gotta say that y'all do look like red and handsome [Applause] but I would think after playing a hardcore country song like Austin it would be a little bit bigger reaction than that and so it's kind of got me it's kind of got me second-guessing myself and I feel kind of stupid because I was telling the guys last night on the way out here that Ben you're not gonna believe it you're not gonna believe how redneck and crazy these people are going to be man I was getting pumped up about it we were on that bus man we got on that bus we pulled out of Nashville we started heading down the highway man we were coming down through those hills man and I was saying rednecks boy rednecks man one Hill after another and Hills Hills these people aren't rednecks these people out here are hillbillies [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] York City he's never heard of Conway Twitty about grits and dreams ever man [Applause] a business trip took him honk it's okay teacher like a pig [Applause] me inside [Applause] [Applause] Mandy [Applause] I ain't nothin Calma Calma Calma [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] be born out in the sticks with a 450 and a 36 the fan the tree [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Applause] [Music] [Music] he came [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] deep inside just came when the fan star little Souls [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this is [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] as country rats [Music] [Music] nobody then one second let's won't talk to the guys here hey guys what's happening you look cute good to see you good to see you this is a big night this is a big night for all of us it's our first ever television show for the first time I want this to be about the show and about music and about entertaining and not about girls and drinking and partying after the show having said that I wanted to just take a second here and show y'all kind of the game plan that I had in my mind about what we'd do tonight so just pretend like this is the stage here Jennifer you're gonna come down say right in through this area and come on down and there's a long riser that goes down don't be
