BLACK BEARS

[Music] welcome to this adventure wasle science as we go nose to nose with some of the smallest bears of North America and yet they're one of the most common the black bear let's check them out on this Adventure wasle Science thanks for joining us let's do it let's go [Music] [Music] black birds are what we call omnivores which means what's on the menu plants and animals [Music] [Music] when it comes to endangered species status black bears don't make the list in fact they're listed as least concerned because the species has a large population and it's estimated to be twice the population of all other bear species combined [Music] [Music] when black bears are in search of their food leaving the forest sometimes they do find themselves in and among humans but in the past Century only about 37 people have ever been killed by these animals [Music] [Music] during the cold winter months blackbears will usually hibernate and what's amazing is during this time the heart rate and metabolism will both decrease in relation to one another [Music] [Music] check this out God created the black bears in amazing ways during hibernation an American black bear's Hearts can actually stop for 20 seconds how amazing is that and the body temperature of the black bear will also decrease to about 88° F which is 31° C then when hibernation is over their body temperature will go back to where it was at just amazing the way God created the black bear [Music] woo what a great adventure learning all about the black bears here on wasle science thanks for joining us check us out next time wherever we're at always exploring God's incredible creation we'll see you guys then bye [Music] [Music]
