outreach services faith s21 the many ministry services several outdoor worship services coveted 19 host sites several times and the quick and effective response to the july 25th worship service interruption as well as the other countless services rendered but not referenced all during the pandemic and post pandemic bishop congratulations on 25 years of honoring your call may god bless you with at least 25 more in the lifeline of abraham i want to take a moment to pass along my sincere heartfelt congratulations to bishop dwayne deadman as we celebrate his 25th pastoral anniversary bishop thanks to your dedication and commitment morningstar baptist church is a place of faith and transformation the congregation has grown in numbers from the hundreds to the thousands and outside the church your work has changed lives and has helped build families and community this isn't just an opportunity to congratulate you on 25 meaningful years this is also a chance to say thank you you are such a great example of living a life of faith over the years you've committed yourself to entering god's call and we are so fortunate for that your faith leadership and service are vital throughout our community in your spiritual duties you not only play the role of pastor but act as the community's advisor advocate teacher and friend by preaching the word of the lord you allow our faith community to experience the joy of god's presence thank you for your work as a pastor and thank you for being the glue that brings this community together congratulations again it is a blessing for me to be a part of this great milestone to celebrate a wonderful sincere humble and dedicated mission bishop i wish you blessings on your 25th pastoral anniversary i would like to thank you for my spiritual growth over these past 10 plus years but most of all i want to thank you for your compassion before and after the death of my husband brahma curl god bless you and have an amazing bishop dabnam and the msbc family in the celebration of his 25th pastoral anniversary for over a quarter of a century pastor devnet has persevered in his vision commitment and devotion to serve god's people and the community through ministry reflecting upon his charge to me and seven others in 2001 to develop the cdc reminds me of his fortitude regardless of the obstacles to serve god's people he blazed trails to forge numerous initiatives that have promoted stronger individuals stable families and powerfully engaged communities we are so pleased and grateful to join in this opportunity to celebrate this dynamic leader our chairman and truly amazing man of god hebrews 13 17 reminds us to have confidence in our leaders and submit to their authority because they keep want over us as those who must give an account thank you pastor for your vision and for always guiding us and leading us in our work to serve god's people and his kingdom happy 25th pastoral anniversary hello i'm april franklin proud principal of southwest academy magnet school located right around the corner from the church on johnny cake road i'm honored to speak about the substantial impact morning star baptist church and bishop devnam have had on not only the staff students and families of southwest academy but on the greater woodlawn area our partnership with msbc ministries began in july 2018 and it has strengthened each year morningstar has been such a blessing to my school community beginning with the restoration of our school marquis which provides a welcoming introduction to the school as well as displays the pride we have in our school and in the greater woodlawn community bishop and the staff cleared branches painted the marquee and gave us a fresh start a couple years ago the blessings continued with the donations of several school supplies during the backpack initiatives that blessed the lives of students and families who were experiencing financial hardships bishop debnam has been with us every step of the way providing staff resources and an ear and voice that communicated the fact that we southwest academy magnet school mattered then covet hit although our world was at a standstill morningstar's generosity did not cease the ministry provided southwest academy with a monetary donation that allowed us to provide supplemental educational materials to enhance the learning experiences for our students who receive special education services which was one of the most impacted groups of students by the covet 19 virus as the state began to open up with the health and safety mitigation strategies morningstar responded to the economic and quality of life needs of the woodlawn community by sponsoring a community giveaway event that was held at the school and most recently we partnered with the wellness ministry to host the free kovic 19 vaccination information session to educate staff and families about the covet 19 vaccinations and to also dispel myths about the vaccinations that was just the jump off this september we are working with the wellness ministry to plan a covet 19 vaccination event for students ages 12 and up at southwest academy and lastly we look forward to providing mentorship to our students through the msbc royalty youth ministry to connect develop and nurture their relationships with their peers on behalf of southwest academy we are grateful for bishop debnam's lady carlas and the msbc's leadership and membership you have helped us make a difference in the lives of our students and their families bishop debnam is celebrating his anniversary as pastor of morningstar baptist church and i understand the theme is one word amazing that's a great word to celebrate an individual whose leadership and partnership are transforming the woodlawn community we look forward to a lasting collaborative and life-changing partnership with morningstar baptist church happy anniversary bishop devnam please continue to do amazing things happy plans that god has for your life are going to amaze you it's not totally what you thought you would be doing [Music] the plan that god had for your life is going to simply blow your mind as a matter of fact you're going to make impact beyond your wildest imagination there's so many things that i want to share with you and say to you as you drift through your early days in life wondering if dreams do come true what i want you to know is they do and not only do dreams come true [Music] but god gives you more than your dream god gives you more than you dream do i remember when you were sit under the kitchen table trying to figure out where you were going life because under the kitchen table was your safe place in your thinking place even back then your introverted waves had you discovering life while thinking underneath the kitchen table same time you were wondering where would this journey called life take you well let me tell you life is going to take you places and put you in reaching people that you never imagined would be in your circle and it's interesting as i pin these words to you dwayne to where you are making your greatest impact is not where you ever thought you would be you've gone further and into different spaces of life the way you thought you would be going you've been thinking that you would somehow make it in professional sports great dream but that doesn't happen your life is so much bigger than that and so as you go through high school and begin thinking about what's next i know that you've asked yourself this question a thousand times how will i make it yes you will have a child a son in high school both you yourself and your son are doing well your parents helped you to manage their critical moment in your life it was overwhelming but you came through it so dwayne i know that you often worried about life growing up you often uncertain about the path that you would take i do want to let you know that even though you chose not to go to calvary hall on the basketball scholarship and it seemed like the right decision at that time but years later you'll discover that not accepting that scholarship did not mess you up because even though you would spend years wondering if it was a bad choice god had a plan for your life a dream for your life that was bigger than anything you could ever have for yourself and oh yeah do i not know that it hurt you tremendously even though you tried to laugh it off it hurts you when that teacher made you right on that chalkboard that dwayne depnum was a fool well you proved her wrong you were hurt but you kept pressing thank you dwayne for having the mental strength to keep pressing now dwane some things that you saw and experienced that you wondered how they would impact you or if they would ever catch up to you remember those times when you would have to help your grandfather get home after one of his drinking binges and you wondered since alcoholism ran in the family would that to become your life let me thank you for not falling into that temptation i can also tell you now that as you go through life it seems like that you will be in one of the circles with the least amount of potential and the one who will wrestle with the thought am i good enough that's thought is going to motivate you to work hard but know this every door that you need opened and every opportunity that god has for you will not be denied you will not go through the same doors as some of your closest friends but your impact will not be questioned as a matter of fact it's going to surprise you that will become what you never expected you are going to become a preacher go figure that past the church leader know that this was not on your radar and that's why that scholarship was turned down makes sense now doesn't it [Music] dude let me go back for a second and tell you this you are good enough and here's a word of advice don't go through life comparing yourself to anybody you're good enough i know that you will and oftentimes doubt yourselves you will doubt if you're good enough you will doubt if you're liked you will doubt if you can succeed you will doubt if you can handle the weight of your journey dwayne be patient with yourself your mother often told you that rome was not built in the day don't doubt yourself be patient here's something made you that that i want you to know god is going to stand into your life at a place you would not have gone if you're taking that basketball scholarship god's going to send into your life a beautiful woman who will love you care for you anchor you and become your best friend also becoming the mother of your children when always cherish the people in your life and although you are an introvert god is going to do something in your life that is simply amazing cherish your relationships and try not a lot to allow your shyness to keep you from embracing people and opportunities that will come your way a few more things i think you should know about you oftentimes you're going to want things to happen quickly but as i remind you i'll mention to you a few moments ago be patient god is going to allow you to create a story that when you look back you will be amazed that this is the dwayne who grew up in east baltimore this is the dwayne who had to sell his blood to eat while in college this is the duane with what he made mistakes that will haunt him forever this is the dwayne who did not think he was good enough dwayne you are good enough and dwayne you will do well [Music] happy anniversary bishop and lady carla love you guys so much let us pray father in the name of jesus we celebrate you we honor you we acknowledge you we sense your presence right now how dare we not tell you how wonderful you are we feel your presence right now how dare we not lift our hands and give you praise for you've been so good [Music] saturate this place with your presence help us to know that you are a true and living god help us to know god that you are still healing that you're still delivering that you're still saving souls show yourself strong today all throughout this day save somebody that's farthest away from you god help us god give us peace give us your joy move like you've never moved before we are hungry for you we want you to move supernaturally today be god like you only know how we thrive like no other your attention to detail and demand for excellence are why we operate in decency and in order the endless sacrifice of your time for multiple services meetings outside preaching engagements live streaming from home bible study prayer call and countless events show just how committed you are to this ministry the love that you and dr carla have for your people have provided a plethora of resources to this body of christ resources that educate our spirits and our minds discipleship constructed in such a way to lead us to the top of our spiritual strength counseling programs to ensure the health and well-being of our minds and our households stay intact ged programs to build our members and our communities giving them a better chance at success business building opportunities to give our people the tools to better promote and grow personal dreams and goals bishop your leadership is amazing leaders of morningstar you are amazing thank you for your dedication to bishop and his vision for coming sunday after sunday meeting after meeting event after event to execute the required excellence of morningstar i personally thank you for your dedication to the youth of morningstar without these ministries leaders and of course bishop and dr carla i would not have had as many accessible opportunities to sing dance mime and even stand before you on this very day i love you morning star to our members staff and those who serve thank you for your service for coming not only on sundays but during the week to rehearse meet check the sound usher provide security schedule band practice clean the church and the list goes on you serve multiple services ensuring that each service runs smoothly and effectively during worship morning star you are amazing bishop during your 25 years of pastoring morningstar we know that there were several challenges but we thank you and commend you for your unwavering faith and belief in this ministry even through covid you remained steadfast and ensured that our safety was monitored not one service was held until you were certain that we had the safest environment possible we thank you for your care to dr carla debnam we thank you for your unity with our bishop for 34 years a man is a good leader on his own but an amazing leader with an incredible woman by his side your tender caring spirit your support of his ministry your passion for counseling and numerous contributions have excelled this ministry beyond measure i admire you both and pray for your continued growth and strength together blessed by the ministry of bishop the wayne c debenham and lady carla devnet and we are here to celebrate their 25th anniversary can you just put your blessed hands together and we have we have celebrated so many miles so many milestones you have brought us through so many challenges absolutely and blessed our lives some things like what our our girls went through daughters of omani and they've grown into beautiful young women young women amen successful young women successful young women amen you both of us have received our call well accepted our call to ministry amen to preach we are licensed ministers bishop dwayne c w amen amen discipleship discipleship oh my god you're a discipleship sister yes amen amen and god has not only blessed us and healed us um spiritually but emotionally as well through the leadership of lady carla amen amen we are both products of the renaissance center the blessing on both sides you serve in leadership and or or have worked for the renaissance yeah i'm a counselor at the renaissance center so god has been good and we even got married amen amen so truly god is amazing amen and so we're excited today we have so much to be excited for but we're especially excited because we have a guest minister in the house minister of music amen yeah he is a stellar award nominee a dove award nominee a three-time billboard number one hint uh artist and we are just blessed to have him in the place and we love his song we love his songs we love his songs we're not going to sing them today but we love him we love him like rain on us songs god two days later i was at my house eating out of my own kitchen i want you to know the god we serve but still a keeping god and this next song is my testimony it just says that everything that your accomplishments your successes but you don't you know in a world where people um you know where we have hollywood preachers and hollywood pastors who you know do whatever they can to be in the limelight you do the exact opposite when your success is far greater than many of the things that we see on television from some of these other folks so my first way to describe your impact is that you are modest um secondly you're reliable you know there's never been a day in my life where i couldn't depend on you no matter how busy you were no matter what other responsibilities you had i've always been able to depend on you for to help me you know in some of my worst times and some of my best times so so your impact to me secondly is that you're reliable and then lastly your impact to me is that you're a leader uh you taught me how to be a leader you taught me how to be a father you taught me how to be a man um and the fact that i have any success that i have now is is truly um because of what i've seen you do and how you lead and how you move um it's not it's not um by coincidence that you've done the things that you've done all right because you are a leader and um i want you to know how much i respect honor and love you and how proud i am to say that i'm your son um and i wish you another 25 years all alright but i hope actually you retire before that and work on that golf swing all right happy anniversary hi daddy congratulations on 25 years of innovative and excellent ministry and morningstar i remember 25 years ago being really [Music] nervous and pretty upset actually about having to be new psalmist i didn't understand why you weren't going anywhere to church um your first sunday or maybe even your trial um sermon or um interview sermon at morningstar um and i really didn't want to leave um but i'm happy that you were able to step into a new level of ministry at morningstar and you've only gotten better and better as the years have gone by i admire your dedication some may say you're overly dedicated to your work at morningstar you've worked tirelessly especially in the last two years to continue to use excellent ministry um and pivot towards a more digital church experience during the pandemic um i hope that you know that you have been an important model for not only me and my siblings but also for the congregation you and mommy have spent a lot of time planning and learning over the years congratulations again on 25 years hey dad happy anniversary um wow that's been 25 years i've been alive for 23 of them so i grew up uh at morningstar grew up and seen the church grow under you um as it's growing up with me which is really crazy um see how much you've grown how much you've developed in your time how much love time and effort you put into the church how much love and effort you put into us as your family still how you managed to balance it all it's crazy to me um but i'm really i'm just just proud of you uh been 25 years hopefully uh you know won't be 25 more years you're gonna be a little old but like you know that's besides the point um yeah this happy anniversary uh love you and congratulations once again hello happy anniversary today is the fastest anniversary i would like to congratulate him for 25 years of amazing service and guess what i got to walk alongside him the whole journey yes the journey is ups and for minister ernest pugh amen and glory to god i want to thank bishop deadman and lady carla deadman for their friendship through the years amen it's been a long time says oak street glory to god and look what the lord has done amen and look what the lord has done at the time all our children could see barely above the pube but now they have grown and living marvelous lives on their own praise god there is a word from the lord this morning and it comes from two particular texts one psalm 40 verse 5 and philippians 1 verse 6. i'll just read those two verses if that's all right psalm 40 verse 5 and then philippians 1 verse 6. the psalmist sings many lord my god are the wonders you have done the things you plan for us none can compare with you where i speak and tell of your deeds there would be too many to declare that's the psalmist now from the letter to the church at philippi being confident of this that he who has begun a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of jesus christ this is the word of the lord you may be seated and our theme and thought of meditation in this service is amazing amazing it is amazing beloved of god when was the last time you did something great for the lord i'm not talking about the things we have already been doing or the things that we ought to be doing praying without ceasing and meditating on god's word day and night worshiping the lord in spirit and in truth i'm not talking about the things that we ordinarily do help when help is needed as in when did you see me hungry or thirsty or sick or in prison give cheerfully the stuff that you ought to be doing be thankful unto him and bless his name for the lord is still good and his mercy is still everlasting i'm not talking about the things that you ought to be doing walk worthy of the gospel and be mindful that what you say and what you do is your most powerful witness to the lord of the lord to others but when not the question on the table today when was the last time you did something great for the lord a leap of faith that was frightening a vision that made you break out in a sweat a ministry idea that blew your mind or a word from the lord that took your breath away yeah can you even imagine what it was like when god told abram to leave everything he knew and go to a place that was just a promise do you think esther was nervous to go see the king risking her life after she and her maids had prayed and fasted for three days for solomon to build and nehemiah to rebuild a peter who messed up at the cross and then to stand and preach and add souls uh on pentecost thousands of souls to the kingdom how do you think it was hard for lydia to take a chance to let the church set up in her living room jeopardizing her purple selling business or paul who was not on the most likely to succeed list once an enemy and now an apostle or what it took to see morningstar baptist church grow up from 48 and a half winches lane to roberts avenue what it took to grow beyond 154 winters lane to security boulevard what it took to go from catonsville to woodlawn what it took for a church building to go from one church building up to a ministry campus up from one sunday morning service up to a community outreach and educational center from the turn of the 19th century with dirt roads and horse-drawn carriages to the digital ministry on the cutting edge of morningstar baptist church in the 21st century to go from reverend t claus to bishop to wayne deadman what it took what it took what it took what it took beloveds this is the right time and the right season to ask this question because no one could have predicted the script of 2020 and 2021. this is the right time to ask the question because when you find yourself in a place where the light gets dim and the ground starts to tremble and the outlook is poorer and the prognosis is doubtful and reality is harsh and things that tighten up everywhere and every day that's the time to look up to god and see what needs to be done not only that jesus what part do you want the church to do and the needs to be done wait wait wait wait wait god what do you want us is uh to do wait wait wait let me bring it closer to home god what you want me to do in a season like this lord lord is this a stand-up and cheer season uh-huh on this anniversary sunday or is this a beast deal and know that i'm god moment uh-huh is this a take-up take it up a notch a timer or is this a hold the line time is this a dig a little deeper season or is this swim to the shore scenario whenever there is an upheaval whether it's personal or private public or prevalent inescapable or unexplainable this is the time to say what's up jesus what's going on now because now you have absolutely a total of attention how so preacher whenever people who who are never afraid are afraid whenever people who don't pray y'all start to pray oh whenever people who don't go to church suddenly are going to church show up in your virtual church timeline whenever your best made plans are disrupted because you just didn't see it coming last year or you just didn't see it coming at the beginning of the year that's the time to have a personal consult with god and say lord what's going on because it feels like something or somebody has gone to a lot of trouble to get us to stop whatever we were doing all over the world it seems like the best thing to do is to get in touch with the one who knows everything yesterday today and tomorrow get in touch with the lord who examines all our paths of a man before the eyes of the lord talk to god who brings every act to judgment who searches us knows us from the time we rise up to the time we sit down the god who scrutinized where we are headed and is intimately acquainted with all your ways do you think do you think we need to consult with the one who numbers our days who sees us knows us who has plans for us not to harm us but to prosper us what's up jesus because now you have our total attention let me exegete the text in paul's and paul's gospel to the church at philippi we find that paul is on lockdown in rome quarantine on house arrest and yet he writes a letter of thanksgiving and prayer here we find genuine gratitude expressed to the church for partnering with him over the years for the cause of the gospel of jesus christ church i love the implication here in the text paul saw his relationship with the church as a pastor people shepherd sheep in other words he saw their relationship as a partnership they were doing the work of the lord follow now it wasn't a one-sided affair where the people worked and paul people watched and paul worked that this gospel ministry rested on paul's shoulder alone uh-huh paul you're the one that got to go go to church paul you're the one that got to raise the money paul you're the one that got to fix whatever's broke you're the one that got a hard water and wood yeah you don't want it rest on you we watching you we watching what you doing but paul in the text says it's not a me thing it's a we thing that's that's that's what this is it's a we thing and so paul's approach to ministry this wee thing uh-huh the saint paul says that we are to equip the saints for i'm waiting for the bible study people to finish that and paul would say that we ought to equip the saints for service there's one of you in here amen as you celebrate this milestone in the life of your pastor the we thing also means that you help him to live long and prosper the we thing uh-huh means that you hold up his arms like aaron and her that's what the we thing means the we thing means that when he's being battle tested you got to be bad already the we thing means that your pastor encourages you but you also ought to be an encouragement to your pastor so he won't be all churched out ah he has a pastor's heart your pastor does and in this passage of scripture paul also reveals his pastor's heart the philippians were not just members to him they were not just numbers on a page he was grateful for them every time he thinks about them just just go read through the letter he's praying for them he's thanking god for them even in his own pain isolation incarceration and persecution paul is praying for them what do you think your pastor does doing for you on good days he's praying for you on not so good days he's praying for you when he ought to be praying for his needs he is interceding for you you're not just a number not just a name on a page not just a just a heart on the internet you just not a part of the digital worship crowd paul prays with great joy and he would later write rejoice again i say rejoice so so so pray for your pastor what we praying for bishop well you praying that the lord will grant him wisdom beyond years and experience that's what you ought to be praying for that you that the lord would give him uncommon courage in this unprecedented season that we're living in that you would pray for his role in relationship as both husband and father what you ought to be praying pray that the lord will protect him in areas of weakness and strengthen him for the days and years ahead that's what you ought to be praying you ought to be praying that he will experience an uncommon anointing in his preaching and teaching how you ought to be praying that god will continue to pour out new visions in his life for how glory to god you ought to be what what to be praying praying that he would be able to have a good balance between ministry family and personal life that's what you ought to be praying why so let me tell you why so because congregational life can be tough sometimes congregational life can be rough sometimes if you're not careful congregational life will take you out it'll stress you out just go ahead and ask paul paul writes there was joy at philippi yeah but there was division and deception at corinth the uh church life can be rough just ask paul uh one church forsake god's grace for legalism that was in galatia one commentator writes that corinth had discouraged paul it can be rough in here sometime our galatia had distressed paul ah but the philippians defied delighted paul karat hurt him god defended him but the philippians gave him joy i wonder morning star which one of you i believe that you are the one that's going to give him joy for in spite of all of the burdens and hardship and pain that can come in congregational life i believe your bishop still has joy that's just like paul it's not an easy thing to pray a present joy in a present pain it's not easy to pray a present joy in a present pain but i can tell you you can do it because with jesus it makes it possible it's not easy to bless the lord in the middle of a beat down but i can tell you that jesus makes it possible it's not easy seeing one death after another oh glory to god but jesus makes it possible and because of the joy present joy that you pray in present pain that joy didn't exist before something happened ah there's a different joy you have before something happened but when god brings you out of it it's a different kind of joy that you had at the end then at the beginning just ask david in psalm 40 he sings a present joy after something happened david is having his own joy and shout party something happened and it could have been he was shouting for joy he was saying it was wonderful it was awesome it was amazing at the point of his deliverance by the power and goodness of the lord he decided to praise god for the awesome amazing work of redemption so the place uh where joy comes from wasn't there before the lights dimmed but when the lights got back on now that's a different kind of joy the joy that happened before the eviction notice is different for how after you got a new place to live it comes from the place deepened by unshakeable faith that refuses to give up even while you're being battered and bruised by the circumstances of life ah that's a different kind of joy and a different kind of faith that's a god has never left me faith god is still able faith god's grace is still sufficient faith god's strength is made perfect in my weakness faith god is faithful our god is going to do just what he said he's going to do faith god will provide faith now faith is the substance of what i'm hoping for right now i've got evidence if he did it before right he would do it again not if he did it before right he can do it again now if he did it before right he will do it again somebody shout amazing i still have a charge to keep faith and a god to glorify faith a never dying soul to save faith and to serve the present age faith to do my masters will faith when your eyes opened up another day yeah ain't it amazing when god answers your prayer isn't that amazing when you go to the refrigerator there's some fresh food inside isn't that amazing when you got a bed to sleep in in that amazing when you got something to do and somewhere to go isn't that amazing god's great joy yeah down in my soul sweet beautiful soul saving joy oh joy down in my soul paul prays with joy your authentic joy of gratitude profound affection he gives the church a high five don't you want to give morningstar a high five give them a high five thank you for your sustaining gifts gives them an update on his predicament and then says this says this what be confident seriously paul do you see all the stuff that's going on around here yeah and paul says yet be confident that what god's got going on here the good work that god started at 48 and a half winners lane god will complete it [Music] until the day of jesus christ oh lord have mercy being confident of this that he who has begun will complete it in other words ain't nothing changed [Applause] tell your neighbor ain't nothing changed the word to them is the word for us in this season ain't nothing changed god's plans for your bright future has not changed in spite of external circumstances that make you think that god's promises in your life ain't coming true it ain't changed you may have changed your mind about god life in the world and your future but god's future for you has not changed you may have backed up on your dreams your god-sized dreams and vision but god has not given up on the outcome ain't nothing changed biblical truth is still the foundation for what we preach and teach and that has not changed for jesus is the same yesterday today and forever god's plans haven't changed but maybe the way god's going to do is different from what you had in mind this paul who stood on god's word and preached god's word and went around planting church and talking to people about jesus christ do you think uh-huh that he thought that this is how his ministry was gonna turn out ah that his greatest sermons or yeah and greatest teachings and his greatest evangelism would start in incarceration ah that the word would spread further more than him walking and most of us have a pretty good idea how we want things to go come on say amen we have a pretty good ideas how we want our children to turn out i know i do say amen or how we want to uh rise in a career amen and how we want our relationships to prosper or what direction we want our lives to take but we we can be real sure how god's gonna work it out until god works it out a different way come on say amen god's plans haven't changed and god may work it out different from what you had in mind ah you see bishop we get so hung up on how god's gonna work stuff out we get so hung up on how god is going to do something the how take a deep breath the how ain't your business it ain't your business how god gonna do it ain't your business uh-huh what you need to be concerned about is what god wants you to do you ought to be concerned about the what the how is in the hands of god and god can work his how better than you can work your how come on y'all say amen ah the lord is not trying to increase our capability but it's trying to produce confidence in him regardless of our ability paul did not come at them with a strategic plan or needs assessment or purchase order for new equipment or a new curricular to do ministry in the first century paul ain't nothing changed is this to be confident in christ's ability and not our ability to continue to do a good work on god's work in the day of jesus christ god has given us all some abilities and those abilities were given with a purpose and not by accident and each of us have natural abilities and talents and a unique combination of spiritual gifts and god pulls all this together in your life to accomplish god's purpose for your life glory to god in deuteronomy we are reminded that it is the lord your god who gives you the ability to produce wealth in exodus we told that certain persons were given skill and ability and knowledge of all kinds of craps they are those who have been given the ability to know how to carry out all of the work of constructing a sanctuary but paul writes to the church at ephesus we are god's workmanship created in jesus christ to do good works which god prepared in advance god prepared in advance god prepared in advance god prepared in advance not concerned about the how because we know god knows how to do it we need to be concerned about the what god didn't waste any abilities on you every one of them had a purpose and a use in god's advanced plan of good work the deal is your ability must be connected to your assignment from heaven the lord places the abilities in the places where they are needed at the time they are needed to function and the way jesus wants it to function so that the good work planned in advance way back in 1896 planned in advance started in you will continue until its eternal conclusions it's about you but it's not about you the continued good work is not dependent upon you is not dependent upon your singing ability your administration ability your wealth building ability your artistic ability your organization ability your people skills ability your planning ability your networking ability it's your confidence your faith in jesus christ to get it done come on that's the praise god right here that's the praise god right there so bishop what else is this gonna do now it's time to go on go on commit to the lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed now what we're going to do now is going on to year 26 we're going to go on and whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do do all to the what to the glory of god what is this going to do now we're going to go on and whatever you do work at it with all of your heart mind soul and strength well what we're going to do now everything we're going to do as unto the lord and not unto humankind what we're gonna do well god will equip you with every good thing for doing his will what are we gonna do now you've already been blessed with every spiritual blessing now it is just time for you to work them blessings glory to god and honor god with your work congratulations bishop two and a half decades of serving god's people and god in this place that's amazing bishop keep praying amazing prayers keep preaching amazing sermons keep doing amazing work keep serving in amazing way yeah keep advancing in amazing way yeah keep rejoicing in an amazing way yeah keep moving forward an amazing way yeah let god's power provide the energy you need on this sacred journey be confident in the ability of jesus christ in the days and years ahead step by step moment by moment a minute by minute just keep doing the amazing things that god calls you to do and this amazing god will bless you we'll favor you we'll lift you up we'll keep you in hard times we'll bless you back when others don't bless uh we'll answer your prayers i will do for you what is humanly impossible you just keep at it keep at it don't stop don't quit don't turn around for the best is yet to come you still haven't preached your best sermon you haven't taught yet to your best bible study yeah you haven't done your best work it was planned in advance and it's still ahead of you go on be amazing in the name of jesus christ and you too will work an amazing work say say yes again [Music] [Music] lord have mercy every time she comes she reminds me to plan the purpose that god has and
