you know Bill O'Reilly and the Bible have a history together and this is bill Meyer reminding him of what it is well I thought it was the Word of God I thought it was literal and a lot of religious people - okay what about the part in the Bible that says if you see your neighbor working on a Sunday you should kill him is that a parable or is that look I think that's probably what I don't know that parable can you quiz at Romans Ecclesiastes where did that it's not a parable no no it's a it's in Deuteronomy it's a law it's a long see your neighbor working on Sunday you should kill gotta kill it doesn't sound like a parable to me but if it's your perfect holy book written by God why is there stuff in it that makes no sense let me so there you have it in the Bible you're instructed to kill people for working on the Sabbath now Bill O'Reilly is a reason why killing people for working on the Sabbath is morally acceptable now the Bible passage Marv referred to is from Exodus not Deuteronomy and it reads quote whosoever does any work in the Sabbath day he shall surely be put to death unquote however here is the context there is no mention of neighbors the passage was based on Moses reporting to the Jews that God would handle the Sabbath situation and that's somehow morally justifies killing people for working on the wrong day of the week are you kidding me killing someone for working on the wrong day of the week is just bloody stupid and morally reprehensible and the scariest thing is is the fact that your religion has allowed you to accept the idea that killing someone for working and the wrong day of the week is okay as long as it's God who does the killing you can never get a better example of those who will believe absurdities can commit atrocities I mean if you keep reading the Bible you'll find it's not actually God who kills anyone for working on the Sabbath that God would handle the Sabbath situation no it's Moses and the followers of the judeo-christian God who actually do the killing the Bill O'Reilly of their day the ones who believed the absurdities whosoever does any work in the Sabbath day he shall surely be put to death the who commit the atrocities and it's all written down there in black and white in the Christian holy book it breaks down like this numbers 15 and while the children were in the wilderness they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath and they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and unto the congregation and they put him in Ward because it was not declared what should be done to him and the Lord said unto Moses this man shall surely be put to death all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp and the congregation bought him without the camp and stoned him with stones and he died as the LORD commanded Moses and the Lord spake to Moses saying speak unto the children of Israel and bid them that they make them fringes in the border of the garment throughout their generations and that they put upon the fringe of the border a ribbon of blue so noble is not God who handles the Sabbath situation it's the followers of the judeo-christian God who pick up rocks and throw them at this guy there's guilty of nothing more than picking up sticks on the wrong day of the week but I use the term guilty reservedly because it's only within the confines of organized religion that you could ever come across something so preposterous and obscene as calling picking up sticks on the wrong day of the week a crime or that it should be punished by throwing rocks at people until they die but in many ways the most psychotic thing of all is there eatle written down in the Bible the first amazing thing is that Christians could actually read this and described it as moral behavior as a divine example of morality that people should aspire to the second amazing thing the very next thing after God who only poses can hear and understand of course goes from commanding the guy to be stoned death for picking up sticks to what colored fringes they should have on their clothes seriously this is like one of those accounts of a serial killer who is such a little regard for human life that fresh after torturing someone to death they start getting worried that they might be for their Scout leader meeting and that they didn't want to set a bad example seriously the very next line after the guy gets stoned death God is talking to Moses about what colored fringes they should have on their robes and this is directly in the Bible the best-selling book in the world you've got a wonder with stuff like that Hren downer does anyone actually read it I mean this is Moses we're talking about you know the guy who talks to God all the time the guy's all buddy-buddy with got the go gets the ten commandments of God can't difficulty still blow this one off and even worse is that Bill O'Reilly seems to think that the US Constitution was built on the Ten Commandments you know or shall not work on the Sabbath stuff that you're absolutely correct the founding fathers did base not only the Declaration of Independence but the constitutional protections on what they thought was right and wrong and what they thought was right and wrong came from the Ten Commandments which is judeo-christian philosophy that is beyond a reasonable doubt now the times like this it's worth keeping an eye on the detail so in fairness to Bill O'Reilly he does make it clear that the entire unedited interview is available in full guitar tire more interview uncut is posted on some of that slaves an Old Testament and there's a lot of stuff about night bad I don't know what it is why didn't get will put it but if it but if it's your perfect holy book written by God why is there stuff in it that makes no sense that's a peculiar thing to edit out but you're right bill the Old Testament is riddled with Commandments about slavery because there's a lot of about slaves a Old Testament so the Ten Commandments when the first given to Moses aren't actually Ten Commandments as lists of a few hundred including in the very next chapter after the tangka moment this if a master have given him a wife and he has borne him sons or daughters the wife and the children shall be the Masters and he shall go out by himself and if the servant plainly say I love my master I love my wife I love my children I will not go out free and the master shall bring him under the judges he shall also bring him under the door or under the doorpost and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl and he shall serve Him forever and if the man sells his daughter to be a maidservant she shall not go out as the men serve instead so the Old Testament is full of judeo-christian philosophy about slavery that you're absolutely correct the founding fathers did base not only the Declaration of Independence but the constitutional protections on what they thought was right and wrong and what they thought was right and wrong came from the Old Testament Commandments which is judeo-christian philosophy that is beyond a reasonable doubt and you think that this is what America was built around now I know there's an element of unintentional irony about describing the US Constitution which really didn't have that much of an issue with slavery paying based on Mosaic law which has a lot of laws about slavery but the little hard part you say that the US Constitution is based around a judeo-christian philosophy I'm so glad that you're wrong on so many levels but the amazing thing is that when it's other religious sorts who are acting crazy bill can see that this is absurd behavior that could never be rationally justified nobody could deny that this war is being generated by Muslim fanatics I call llama fascists knowing actually people do deny that though bill nobody and nobody who would seriously nobody who's clear thinking nobody we take seriously so that's the fact but you're not going to persuade those people because by their very nature they're nuts they're crazy it's only when it's his religion his holy book that now we just have to gloss over these psychotic bits like this guy's kill for pants ticks followed by a discussion of what colored tassels they should have on their clothes you

Thunderfoot sounds a bit under the weather. Nice video, though. Really highlights the absurdity of murdering your neighbors for collecting wood on the Sabbath. He doesn't even go into the issue of which day the Sabbath is, since for the Jewish (which is the part of the Bible the passage is from) it is Saturday, but for Christians it is on Sunday.
