it's time for a two-minute timeout with Joe Judah I recently spoke with four-time National League batting champion Bill Madlock about how hitting has changed one of the things that's amazing is you struck out only once every fourteen plate appearances you watch guys today these guys strike out in a series many times it's so different now isn't it well I just different you know that we took pride on putting the ball in play hard not just put the ball in play you know just to put it in play we back off a swing we had a short reign but you know that's just part of how the game is I think every player to play a hundred games gonna hit ten home runs or more you know and you know I think the cuffs right now they probably got ten eleven guys hit and you know sent a hidden homerun Kent Kent a more home run so it's just that home run thing I really for you lead off better on and like the Mets going that way I think name is McNally he's a good leadoff hitter now you know now they got belt elves from the Giants out a big guy about 65 to 80 get laid off by it same way we play that starch or I'm a covering all those guys a leadoff now I want my RBI got back third I want to leadoff guys get putting out they just want one run I want three runs you know I walked giving a leadoff better kids on base a second guys you know baked in the third or fourth guy come up and hit a home run so that's why you see guys with 20 or 30 home runs with 60 RBIs you know we causing the wives on-base how we took the game series I think a lot more a lot more serious in the guys through the day but they got paid they get create a lot more money so you won't see guys plan as long and guys paid for but no base while it's still a good sport to watch and we enjoyed it you know sometimes it's tough to watch the game now there's across are the two things is strikeouts or home runs and anytime you got more or scratch up and hit you know if something's wrong with the game I'm Joe Sciuto with this two-minute timeout
